Anderson.Paak On Hip-Hop History: “Real Artists Study The Game First”

ANDERSON.PAAK TALKING TO LIL YACHTY?

(AllHipHop News) Oxnard, Cali-bred rapper Anderson.Paak recently Tweeted his opinion about what constitutes a “real” artist when it comes to Hip-Hop.

While he didn’t call out Lil Yachty directly, Anderson.Paak, Yachty, who is known as “The King of Teens,” has been in the news for his cavalier approach to knowing Hip-Hop’s history.

In an interview with Billboard magazine, Lil Yachty admitted he couldn’t name five songs by Tupac Shakur or The Notorious B.I.G. and didn’t seem to care to learn either.

Well, Anderson.Paak, who was delighted to be shouted out by Nas at the “Reading Festival” in England over the weekend, clearly has a different opinion.

“Don’t be cocky in the fact that you don’t know anything about hip hop history. Real artists are students of the game first,” Anderson.Paak Tweeted on Saturday (August 27).

Lil Yachty has replied to the reports, and admitted that he does in fact, know one song by each artist.
