Tupac Bodyguard Issues 100k Challenge To Death Row Security

The war of words between former Death Row Records Head of Security Reginald Wright Jr. and Kevin Hackie, a former bodyguard for rap legend Tupac Shakur, reached a new level as Hackie has offered Wright $100,000 to take a lie detector test to prove he had nothing to do with Shakur’s still unsolved murder.

To date, Wright maintains he did not play a role in the 1996 slaying, which occurred in Las Vegas.

However, Hackie, who recently revealed himself to be an FBI agent during a screening of the documentary Tupac: Assassination - Conspiracy or Revenge?, is not convinced.

"I will go on record and publicly offer him $100,000 dollars of my own money for him to take a polygraph test and if it comes out correct that he had nothing to do with the murder of Tupac Shakur, I will pay him that money," Hackie told AllHipHop.com. "And I will publicly make sure it's on the six o'clock news that he hasn't had anything to do with it. I'm reaching out to him."

Hackie’s offer comes 10 years after his last conversation with Wright, an exchange of words where the agent claims he would be the one to arrest Wright.

Hackie worked for Shakur and a security detail for Death Row from 1992-1996.

Although he was supposed to be with the rapper the night of his killing, Hackie admitted that was unable to meet Shakur in Las Vegas because he had to help clear a suspect he arrested in Compton, to see a doctor at Los Angeles County General Hospital.

"At about six o'clock I received a call from Reggie that I needed to go to the airport and he had a flight waiting for me at seven o clock," he said. "I called up Tupac and he told me ‘Kev, I'm going to Vegas but I don't want to go because I don't trust these ni**a's.’ He [Tupac] told me to hurry up and make my flight. I advised him of my situation. I told him this is where I'm at, at the county jail. I said look ‘whatever you do wear your vest. ‘

Upset with having one person with Shakur, Hackie eventually made it to Las Vegas at the request of the rapper’s mother, Afeni Shakur, after getting off duty hours later.

Before Hackie could make it to Shakur’s side, a gunman shot Shakur four times as he rode shotgun in a black BMW driven by Death Row Records’ CEO, Marion "Suge" Knight.

According to Hackie, he is clear as to what happened once he arrived at the hospital.

"I'll never forget the look in Suge and Reggie's eyes when I saw them at the hospital," Hackie said. "In 17 years of being a cop, I've seen a lot of guilty people and the look Suge had in his face, the look in his eyes when he looked at me, I knew damn well from their looks, those f***ers were guilty. There's no doubt about it."

Shakur’s murder sent shockwaves through the rap community and police continue to struggle to find someone responsible for the killing.

According to Hackie, Shakur’s rap rival Christopher "Notorious B.I.G." Wallace and Bad Boy Records CEO Sean "Diddy" Combs were originally listed as suspects.

"At the end of the day [blaming Combs] was to throw people off," Hackie claims. "One thing about a cop and I don't care about what type a cop it is, if a cop ever tells you that he hasn't walked both sides of the line, he's a damn liar. As a cop we know the good aspects and the bad aspects. So who better than to take hits on the two most prominent rap stars?…At the end of the day I will be the one there to make sure there is an arrest."

All I know is that I done watched "Tupac Assassination", and based on the EVIDENCE that shows (not what the interviewed people say, but the evidence about where the cars were positioned and all that shit), I think Reggie did it.
As for the test, that's f&%$#@# stupid. You CAN beat a polygraph test, as long as you have practice with it. All that shit does is measure yo blood pressure or heartrate or something like that. I dont remember what it is. But I know that there been dudes in the past who have beat that thing.

anybody that think suge had something to do with tupac murder is a dumb ass. and never been involved or around any type of gun play in their life.

yeah iam gonna put a hit out on a nigga sitting in the passenger seat of my car. iam a tell the shooter yo when we pull up at the light pull up next to us with a 40 cal. and start shooting through a steel door. you niggas cant be serious. not iam a drive to a secluded era to make sure no cops around and get him when he get out the car. but no we gonna do it on the main strip in las vegas. this is real life shit. it aint a movie. you suburb niggas is funny to me.

Lie detector tests are harder to beat than you think...that's why when you go down to the station you supposed to lawyer up so they can't force you to take one. It measures persperation(sweat), heart rate, body movement, vocal intonation.  The average cat is not gonna ever be able to beat it.  I was military intel, and it took a lot to be able to pass it.

it sounds like Suge may have had a role in this one, but who am I to say who did it.

He may not have planned for Pac to get smoke right next to him, but we all know how shit can go wrong in a instance.

This cop was closer to the story than anybody except Suge so I would assume he may know what he's talking about if he aint' lyin.

I'LL THROW SOME IN THERE TO IF I CAN. I HAVE ALWAYS SAID ALL OF HIPHOP SHOULD PUT TOGETHER A REWARD FOR BIGGIE AND TUPAC, SINCE EVERYONE CLAIMS TO HOLD THEM IN SUCH HIGH REGARD. THEN WE SHOULD ACT LIKE IT. THAT SHIT SHOULD BE OVER 10 MILLION BY NOW. I BET WE'D GET SOMEONE ARRESTED IF THAT KIND OF MONEY IS SITTING OUT THERE.
[THE GOVT WOULD FRAME SOMEONE REAL QUICK WHEN THEY SEE THAT KIND OF MONEY GO UP, CAUSE I FEEL LIKE THEY DID IT, ANYWAY].:SMH:

Plenty of people saw it, it happened on a main strip in Las Vegas of all places. They got cameras "everywhere" in Vegas. I wasn't there but this is what I think since the speculations are allowed to fly freely on this topic all the time. Of course Suge knows who did it and I think it was because of Suge that the hit was made. Contrary to what most people are saying I think they were actually trying to kill Suge and Tupac. I think it was the perfect set up except for the choice of weapon used. They couldn't pull up on Suge's side, and they didn't get out the car because of the cameras.

It was a professional hit made to look like a garden variety drive by. A higher caliber machine gun would have easily attracted more attention than the .40 glock but it would have definitely done the trick. They probably figured the hand gun is just as effective at close range and would make less noise especially since it's always loud and noisy in Vegas anyway but on a fight night it's crazy. I always thought Suge was dumb for fucking up one of the biggest Rap labels ever, but neither one of them was supposed to leave that strip alive. You can hate Suge but he didn't set that up, no way, Suge aint dumb enough to risk his own life like that. The cats who tried to kill them were dealt with that is why Suge is still moving around freely. He's feared for a reason.  I don't think Suge payed them to kill Tupac but he was responsible for his death to a certain degree.
