Rapper Yung Joc Shows Up To Court Seven Hours Late

Atlanta rapper Yung Joc finally appeared in court yesterday (December 26) a surprising seven hours late, to face arraignment on a felony gun possession charge.

The 27-year-old rapper was considered a fugitive earlier, when it appeared that he would be a no show.

An arrest warrant was issued and bond was increased to $100,000, but the warrant was later revoked and bond was decreased back to $50,000 when Yung Joc finally appeared.

Born Jasiel Robinson, Yung Joc was arrested on Christmas Eve at the Cleveland Hopkins International Airport following accusations that he attempted to bring a loaded, semiautomatic gun and ammunition onto a Delta Airlines flight.

According to Yung Joc's attorney, Stanley Jackson Jr., the rapper showed up late to court due to personal financial and family obligations.

A preliminary hearing is set for January 25 and Yung Joc could face up to 18 months in jail.

The young rapper is continuing to maintain his innocence according to his lawyer.

When questioned by reporters outside the courtroom, Yung Joc simply replied, "Happy New Year".

As far as the charge I'm sure the nigga just forgot the heat was in his bag. It happens a lot more than people think and you know damned well that he ain't purposely try to take a strap on an airplane. A few years ago Barry Switzer (coach of the Dallas Cowboys at the time) got caught up on the same thing. Forgot his heat was in his bag and accidentally went through airport security with it. You can be damned sure that white people were not hollering, "Give his ass Life!!" or "This idiot makes all white people look bad!!" The fact of the matter is celebrities (Rappers included) make mistakes - JUST LIKE YO ASS!! It ain't like this nigga is in the news every week on some dumb nigga shit a' la Foxy, so why are we so quick to hang a muthafucka? This crab in a bucket shit has gone too far. Don't get me wrong, he committed a crime (accidental or not) and he will probably get probation or maybe a little time but that is all that is warranted in this case from what has been reported- NOT throwing the nigga UNDER the jail like some of you niggas would like to see.
