Because 70% of people on here don't rap and if they did, they will have a better vocabulary and gimmick than Soulja Boy.  He got a record deal because of his age and he's outgoing.  The music business always needs a young artist that can target the youth and the last two years it's been Soulja Boy.  However, other young hip-hop studs that came before Soulja Boy (Bow Wow, Romeo, etc.) brought a more positive vibe than him.
