Jimmy Iovine and the other white (and mainly jewish) executives at Interscope make more money off both 50 Cent and Game's albums then either of the (black) artists do.  When you hear stories about how your favourite artist got 'signed' for a million dollars what they don't tell you is that that is usually their album budget.  If they spend $400,000 to record an album after you factor in that expensive beat they need from Timbo or Pharrell for the singles or that feature from the current hot artist of the month (i.e. L'il Wayne or Young Jeezy) plus they have to cover most of the advertising and all of the video budgets.  Next thing you know, your favourite artist is $500,000 in debt to the label and, unless that touring goes well (where most of the artists make there money), they ain't going to recoup.  The label gets its money first before the artist sees his first royalty check (sometimes a year plus later).

Jimmy Iovine and Interscope are STILL making money off Tupac and Easy E. plus off of Dre, Snoop, 50 Cent, Eminem, and the Game.   Even if all these artists somehow fall off or sign with new labels, Interscope (for the most part) owns the masters to their recordings and the artists back catalog.  Which means the 'Best of Tupac Volume 18' at a store near you.

Game lost... 50 Cent lost... the white power structure wins again.  That is the reality of the music business.  Cats are scrapping for pennies while the executives are making millions.

Notice when he's not prepping for an album he's almost COMPLETELY out of the media's eye, that's because he doesn't like the unneccessary attention. He lets the fans fight one another while he gets paid off of their fueds. LOL, this dude has just BLEW MY MIND with this move! If you didn't get it before, you should now. He gets money. That's what 50 Cent cares about in all this, if it doesn't make dollars, it doesn't make sense to him. Now THAT'S a hustla. WOW!

@SniperK: Read your comment a lil late, but that's ALL true. The only upside to signing with some of the majors is the platform of exposure you can have. But, for most artists, they fail to sell and end up right back where they started. Interscope probably let the sparks fly, and after seeing the HUGE interest from the Kanye/50, decided they can try the same ploy with Game/50, even though it's on a smaller scale because it's The Game as opposed to Kanye. But I bet 50 was one of the people who initially proposed it. Haha, but that's all speculation...nothing I can prove.

I dont know if it was a good idea to push the albums back or keep them the say day? it seemed to be a good idea with the KAYNE vs CURTIS, look how many records they sold since it was a big competition.

i guess there will still be a competition tho, this way maybe people will buy both albums instead of just one or the other.
