THOSE OLD RUMORS! I just added them earlier today, but it seems like forever. Read 'em :  Hip-Hop Rumors: Kanye Talks! Common & Serena? Timbaland Haters Lose!

R. KELLY, IS THAT YOU HATING?

Ne-Yo has been suddenly and mysteriously dropped from the R. Kelly Tour! Now from what I heard and have already reported…Ne-Yo has been doing well on the tour. Here is what Ne-Yo had to say:

"I don't understand their actions because I was rehearsing, doing media, promoting the tour, and performing, said Ne-Yo. In my opinion, I was doing everything possible to make the tour a success. I love being on stage in front of fans because of the immediate feedback you get. You know right away if they are feeling you; and they were really feeling our show."

It looks like the young lion might have brought too much of his A-Game to the tour and was drawing fans into his lair. You know, that’s nothing new. I don’t know if you all know, but Run DMC and LL used to have a similar deal back in the day. Now, to be fair…Kellz and his camp are saying that Ne-Yo was dumped, because they didn’t have a signed agreement. Um, just sign it!?! Anyway, it looks like sometimes good is just too good for some people.

HERE IS TIM AND FIANCEE (BABY IN BELLY)!

Click the pic to send your congrats to Timbaland and Fam! Shout out to D.O.E. Read the entire news story over here!

MISS JONES MOVES BACK INTO PHILLY

You know what? Nobody can replace Monie Love, but Miss Jones is pretty cool with me. “I am extremely excited to be returning to the place I once called home. Philly has always remained in my heart and holds the fondest memories of my career,” Jonsey said. She will still be in New York City as well. Oh, I almost forgot…you can get her and the morning show team on 100.3 The Beat Philadelphia starting on Nov. 26.

MEECH IS SPECIAL

There may be a logical reason why you can’t locate Big Meech through the normal channels. I am told that he is being held in a special facility, because his case is so high profile. I heard this jail is in Michigan. You know, I can’t say, but it seems weird that they would make special concessions for Meech…its not that high of a profile in terms of media coverage. Hood coverage…yeah. Plus, they usually throw the book at people when they want to make and example of them.

KANYE IN GQ - THE AIR OUT

Kanye often says, “F**k the media.” He is now tight with Harper’s Bazaar. Kanye has a mural in his house with all these angels and stuff. There is one central angel that is like 8 feet tall. H.B. erroneously reported that that was Kanye. Kanye is in there, but he’s off to the side or something being carried by an angel, a nod to his near fatal car accident.

Also according to GQ, Kanye West was preparing to get married by the end of 2007. Don’t know if he is going to stick with that. He said, “I'm just going to go and get married, I'm not going to make a big deal out of it. "It's not to prove anything to anyone - it's for me, for stability in my life, and I'm so happy that I found someone that I really love, that challenges me, that keeps my life interesting, that's just as crazy as I am."

ILLSEED’S QUICKIES

Shout out to Da Grindaz! They have a hot new mixtape. You might remember their name from that joint T.I. did with Jay-Z. Check them out if you have a second. Shout out to Montgomery, Alabama!

Shaq and his wife might be trying to work things out. At least they are putting on a good front after they appeared in public at a recent wrestling event.

A Deelishus porn? I’m hearing that that former Flavor of Love star might be “starring” in a flick that was made before her days on TV.

BUSTA DROPS MORE SCIENCE IN “THE AFTERMATH STUDIO SESSION 2”

DEE-NYCE! “RACISM STILL ALIVE”

You know what? I have to support this guy in the same vein that I support most rappers “saying something.” Check it out. Shout out to Dee-Nyce and all the rappers doing their thing in the community and the internet. Get that collabo with NY OIL and Immortal Technique poppin,’ G.

FREEWAY – SUPPORT DAT MAN!

I just wanted everybody to know that I am copping that new Freeway. You might want to do that too, if you love hardcore Hip-Hop.

SIGNS THE WORLD IS COMING TO AN END

Don’t you hate is when your microchip implant starts acting up? UG, I HATE that. Well I have more bad news. These damn microchips have been known to cause cancer in lab rats and dogs.

In almost all cases, the malignant tumors, typically sarcomas, arose at the site of the implants and grew to surround and fully encase the devices. These fast-growing, malignant tumors often led to the death of the afflicted animals. In many cases, the tumors metastasized or spread to other parts of the animals. The implants were unequivocally identified as the cause of the cancers.

Just terrible. Now, I have mine in a tooth. I wonder if I am still at risk? Anyway, don’t sleep…literally, don’t sleep or you might have cancer surrounding your damn microchip! Read the original report in the very reputable Washington Post.

HOOPZ IS BACK DISSING NEW YORK!

She said she is bombing on sight if she sees New York…wow.

TOMORROW, WE LOVE YOU!

They keep us talking, but if we stop talking about them then they should worry!

Dudes like this should get just as much publicity as 50 cent or soulja boy.  Other wise black people, what are we saying our focus is and shit?

We really got to stop and smell the gun powder.  Niggas too comfortable rollin over, signing peace treaties in which they lose in the contract.

Sure New York got her little show and shit.  But her portrayal of the black woman is going to do what to their image internationally?

We still on some bullshit.  I fux with dude that type of stuff get me going.   Im walking through the valley with Twons passion, BP1's witt, and 518's resources. lol.

I've been trying to get into those spoken word venues lately.  I actually performed last week and shit.  Got to admit, it was motivating.  Crowd show'd me love.  I gotta go back.  Philly known for that type of stuff but it get overshadowed by the bull.  A lot of those conscious artist come from Philly.  We lost the brotherly love, but we still got soul lol.

I remember a couple of months back I was having a discussion with a guy about the origin of rap..Well Muhammed Ali is coming out with a book and claiming to be the originator..If this is true that would mean that rap started in the South..Hip Hop, which consists of differents elements such as rhyming, dj'ing, breakdancing and graffiti started in New York..There were a lot of guys rapping before hip hop was formed and that's the point I was trying to make back then..Rudy Ray Moore aka Dolemite is another person I would throw into that category..But check out the article..

Big Meech knows a lot of heavy hitters. If that dude cooperates it's not going to be good for a lot of people. The BMF really got bigger than him, but he was still recognized as the head. He simply could not regulate all them lil dudes running their mouth before they did or said dumb shit.

You only as smart as the dumbest cat in your clique, and you only as dumb as the last dumb mistake you made. There is really no going back to correct shit in the game. That's why all these cats looking at hard time now. The 80s and 90s round up should have served notice because some of the biggest cats got hit then and some of them were flipping.

No co-defendants and don't talk on those phones. It don't matter if they are prepaid all of them can be tracked. Stupid lil niggaz hustle off them things now trying to avoid the cameras. At least the cameras are stationary and every camera has a blind spot. They not enterprising enough, find new spots where they least suspect you to be and route your customers there. Move around, stop buying those flashy rims and chains, and don't use those phones. Stop being flashy period when you out there. Those phones are like tracking devices. They just leading them from one trap to another because they know ignorance is glorified instead of knowledge and preparation. I know the FEDS are loving these fake ass gangster rappers and their fanboys these days, shit don't get no easier than now with all these faggot ass niggaz name dropping in plain language.

Remember that remix?  I remember listening to that like what the fuck was he thinking on that song with Big Meech having a pending trial coming up. These dudes need to STFU or learn how to rhyme.

Have you ever wondered why we as people are so territorial about  neighborhoods, cities and states when the majority of us don't even own the property that we are living on? We basically killing each other over property that belongs to the government the majority of the time..They showed us that much by the way they are moving us from one location to the next like lost sheep..

quick and short answer, Gawga.
see the lesson below.

I don't know if it's right that I start putting these out there, and I heard BFG's request earlier, but sometimes I just get really frustrated that we are all not working from the same mindset.

Especially when I hear people say stuff like we are all malcolm x or they like malcolm x and they never studied one quarter of a page of what he studied.

here is a lesson off of the top of the stack that malcolm had to memorize.

these were passed down in the 30s.
===============

ENGLISH LESSON NO. C1

1.    My name is W. F.  M U H A M M A D.

2.    I came to North America by myself.

3.    My uncle was brought over here by a Trader three hundred seventy-nine years ago.

4.    My uncle cannot talk his own language.

5.    He does not know that he is my uncle.

6.    He likes the Devil because the Devil gives him nothing.

7.    Why does he like the Devil?

8.    Because the Devil put fear in him when he was a little boy.

9.    Why does he fear, now, since he is a big man?

10.   Because the Devil taught him to eat the wrong food.

11.   Does that have anything to do with the above question, No. 10?

12.   Yes, sir!.  That makes him other than his own self.

13.   What is his own self?

14.   His own self is a righteous Muslim.

15.   Are there any Muslims other than righteous?

16.   I beg your pardon?  I have never heard of one.

17.   How many Muslim sons are there in North America?

18.   Approximately three million.

19.   How many original Muslims are there in North America?

20.   A little over seventeen million.

21.   Did I hear you say that some of the seventeen million do not know that they are Muslims?

22.   YES, SIR!

23.   I hardly believe that unless they are blind, deaf and dumb.

24.  Well, they were made blind, deaf and dumb by the Devil when they were babies.

25.  CAN THE DEVIL FOOL A MUSLIM?

26.  NOT NOWADAYS,

27.  Do you mean to say that the Devil fooled then three hundred seventy-nine years ago?

28.  Yes, the T R A D E R  made an interpretation that they receive G O L D for their labor - more than they were earning in their own country.

29.  Then did then receive gold?

30.  NO.  The Trader disappeared and there was no one that could speak their language.

31.  Then what happened?

32.  WELL, they wanted to go to their own country, but they could not swim nine thousand  miles.

33.   Why didn't their own people come and get them?

34.   Because their own people did not know that they were here.

35.   When did their own people find out that they were here?

36.   Approximately sixty years ago.

Naw, I didn't see it but I was just watching the documentary on what went down with Jim Jones and that whole situation a couple of weeks ago..I kind of got pissed off last night when I heard the commentator make comparisons between Jonestown and the game..It was a big deal when Phil Jackson made comparisons between his teams play and Brokeback Mountain, which was based on fiction but a commentator can get away with it and not much is said..Were they addressing those comments as well or did they just decide to run a feature on it?

You know the worst part of that Phil Jackson comment? That he apologized, but blamed it on ESPN. In his apology he said "I'm sorry if I offended any cowboys, or Texans, and anybody like that"

But on the Jonestown thing..they did it because the murders and suicides happened in November and because the rev. Jim Jones grandson plays ball at San Diego and they're playing USC on Thanksgiving night.

If you watch Sportscenter, they have a 10 minute piece on it..but there's a condenced version if you go here:

I honestly think Phil Jackson's comments weren't that bad..I think people have gotten too sensitive..It wasn't like he made a comment condemning gays or anything..It was a comment he could've made to his team and nothing more would've been said..

“That T.I. situation. Things like that make it hard. But T.I. was trippin.’ C’mon boss, who you going to war with? If you didn’t try it then, why would you try it now? I don’t know his situation, but for a lot of these hip-hop artists, the problem comes in with the people who didn’t live that lifestyle. These kids got that Internet now and they will Google you. They will find out what high school you went to, what grades you had. Now we’re in the position where people have to live those lives out. That’s what I got a problem with. People wait until a certain age to get those attributes attached to their name. Gangsters aren’t sworn in, they’re born in. You’re what you were in junior high.

If you look at this generation, this generation is illiterate. These young rappers are making up their own language. It’s a lack of education. Before you had the KRS-Ones. He was considered a hard-core rapper, but he was also schooling and teaching people. These young people don’t know how to express themselves. ‘What’s up homie? What the f–k,’ that’s all they know. Their vocabulary is crazy. I went to jail and there are grown men who don’t know how to read. Pick up a “Source” magazine and all they want to do is look at the picture. Hip-hop needs a literary test. People will pick out the negative in my music, but I still make those songs. “This Can’t Be Life,” “Have Mercy on Me,” you gotta have that balance.”

Rick Ross (rapper)

Rick Ross grew up in Miami's Carol City section, a notoriously dangerous inner-city neighborhood. As a young child his father had abandoned him and his mother became the sole provider of the family. As an adolescent he spent much of his time hanging out and playing football in the street or listening to rap music which became influential in his life as he moved onto middle school. It was in Miami Carol City High School where he would begin to experiment with rap music, however his prowess in football would take hold. Upon graduating in 1995 Ross was awarded a scholarship to Louisiana State University, where he enrolled, however dropped out. Upon returning to Carol City Ross began to pursue his music career. He is married to Laura Haslam. [5]

Beanie of all people shouldn't even be commenting on T.I.'s situation not knowing the evidence because we all know if we would've did the shit he did we'd be doing at least 20 years..This nigga went around high on pills (which ain't even a black thing), syrup and God knows what else shooting people for no apparent reason..He shot 2 people within a 1 year and intimidated all the witnesses..See it's bitch ass sellout muthufuckas like this that piss me off..Niggaz like him ain't shit for making comments like this..Passing judgment when he didn't want it done to him..He don't know shit about that man lifestyle before he came into the rap game..What he needs to be worried about is that nigga that snuffed him out in the club last year and he didn't do shit but he  going around shooting innocent people..That's the definition of a fake ass gangsta..

Black people have been making up our own language and speaking in codes every since we were in the slave fields picking cotton..We had a reason then and we have one now..What is this nigga talking about referring to KRS-1 as hardcore? LMAO....Oh really? LL was more hardcore than him and that's not saying much..Why ain't this nigga promoting education in his music and devoting time to go speak to the kids or donating money to schools that need them? Beanie is just another nigga with a lot to say but ain't following those words up with action..Everybody was supporting this nigga when they had him jammed up and now that he got away scott free he got a lot to say..This nigga is a hypocrite plain and simple..

T.I.P. VS BEANS

Criminal
In early 2004, T.I. was behind bars in Cobb County, Georgia, for violating probation. The probation stems from a November 1997 arrest and subsequent conviction for distribution of cocaine, manufacturing and distributing a controlled substance, and giving authorities a false name, according to a sheriff's department spokesperson.

He served a sentence of unknown length and was released early on probation. It is not clear what he did to violate the terms of his release, but it is the second time he's been accused of doing so. A county judge could revoke the terms of his probation and reinstate his original sentence.

More trouble awaits T.I. in neighboring Fulton County. Two arrest warrants were issued there in March — one for possession of a firearm and one for possession of ecstasy. Now that he's in custody, T.I. will likely be extradited to face those charges after his case is handled in Cobb County, according to a Fulton County sheriff's department spokesperson.[23]

T.I. was sentenced to three years in prison for violating the terms of his probation. After serving a minimum of one year, T.I. can apply for a work-release program, according to the county clerk's office in Cobb County, Georgia. An arrest warrant for T.I. was issued on December 29, ordering a revocation of his probation. He turned himself in to county officials on March 30 and had been in custody ever since. His lawyers appeared in Cobb County Superior Court Wednesday and signed a consent order with prosecutors that essentially stipulated T.I. should be sentenced immediately, thus avoiding the need for a formal hearing.

T.I. was on probation stemming from a 1998 conviction for violating a state controlled substances act and for giving false information. After being released on probation, he earned a litany of probation violations in several counties around Georgia for offenses ranging from possession of a firearm to possession of marijuana.[24]

In 2006, after appearing in an Atlanta court on (May 10) and having charges that he threatened a man outside a strip club last year dropped for lack of evidence, T.I. was arrested on an outstanding probation violation warrant from Florida. The warrant claims that T.I. did not complete the required number of community service hours he was sentenced for a 2003 assault of a female sheriff deputy at University Mall in Tampa. T.I. was detained by several mall Security Guards at the time of the incident, among them, Jason Phillips(founder of Certified Protective Services), Larry Warner (founder of Tactical Response Services), and Arturo Ortiz, now a security manager in Florida. According to WBS-TV Atlanta, the rapper’s attorney has said that the problem was nothing more than a “technical matter” between Georgia and Florida. The confusion arose because T.I. was also sentenced to community service in Georgia for driving with a suspended license, for which he did complete 75 hours of community service in his home state. The rapper was released on bail shortly after being arrested, and was expected to surrender to Florida state authorities next week to resolve the matter.[25]

On October 13, 2007, Federal authorities arrested T.I. His arrest came at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, four hours before the BET Hip-Hop Awards show got under way downtown. He was charged with two felonies — possession of three unregistered machine guns and two silencers, and possession of firearms by a convicted felon. The arrest was made in the parking lot of a downtown shopping center, which a witness identified as the Walgreens drug store at the corner of North and Piedmont avenues. Harris was arrested after allegedly trying to purchase the guns from a "cooperating witness" with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. According to federal officials, the witness had been cooperating with authorities since Wednesday, when he was arrested on charges of trying to purchase guns from a federal agent. The witness has been working as Harris' bodyguard since July, authorities said.[26] [27]

T.I. walked out the courthouse in downtown Atlanta on October 26 after posting a $3 million bond, $2 million in cash and $1 million in equity on property he owns. The rapper must remain at home except for medical appointments and court appearances. The only people allowed to live with him are his girlfriend and children. Visitors must be approved by the court. More than sixty supporters, family members, friends and fans stood outside the federal courtroom during the hearing.[28]

Legal Trouble

Beanie Sigel
September, 2005, a jury acquitted him of charges that he nearly shot a man to death on a crowded city street two years prior. In August, Sigel left federal prison after serving nearly a year on a federal weapons charge that stemmed from a 2002 traffic stop in Philadelphia.

Sigel also has fallen behind in child-support payments. He was briefly jailed in November until he paid $27,000 in child support and $2,000 in fines, but seems to be paying off his debts.

With the case behind him, Sigel now plans to "make music, make movies and work on his clothing line," said his attorney, Fortunato N. Perri Jr. The case was the last in a series of criminal charges against Sigel, who has a long arrest record dating back to his days growing up in South Philadelphia.

On Tuesday, January 10, 2006, Sigel was convicted of assault for a fight in 2003. He agreed with the prosecutor's version of events, and was convicted of misdemeanor simple assault. He was immediately sentenced to two years probation plus $180 in court costs.

The charges stem from an argument between Sigel and a man who said the rapper punched him in both eyes, breaking his left eye socket, during a January 2003 argument outside a Chinese restaurant.

In Oct. 2005, his step-father, Sam Derry was murdered.

[edit] Shooting
On May 25, 2006 shortly after 8:00 am, Sigel was shot twice in the upper right arm during a robbery attempt. He was hospitalized and was said to be in good condition.[2] According to Philly.com, sources at the Philadelphia Police are skeptical of the details of the shooting because no shell casings, or witnesses to the shooting have been located

I just realized something.

Thanksgiving is starting to be the only day that remotedly takes America back to the family structure and actually sharing a dinner amongst family members.

And oh yea, we cant forget about christmas being the only day people smile and start caring about each other.  The homeless look forward to thanksgiving and christmas each year.  They are the only days that they actually get treated like human beings.

Im still debating if I love the holidays for that reason, or do I despise them for that.

Either way, it should make people realize that it has nothing to do with the day or the time of the year.  Only thing different is attitude...

I'll stop there.

With that said...

Er'rybody enjoy your time off. That includes you, illseed. Gotta feeling we'll see you on Saturday tho.

Gawga,
The last shall be first.

So lemme answer your last question about ninjas being territorial first.

This is gonna be a lil detailed.

Again I gotta bring up Malcolm X.

Because so many are drawn to his allure but rarely do any of his fans take it past that.

Malcolm was an apprentice. And he was taught by a mentor or a teacher.

One thing that Malcolm's teacher said always scared me as a youngin and still bothers me to this day.

He said that, "When the last days are upon us, those who really understand my teachings, will be so few in number, that they will be able to fit into a volkswagon (Beetle)."

So of late, I've been buggin out at how ideals that are fairly obvious seem to be overlooked amongst our people.

Something that is so elementary as White slave traders brought Black slaves to these shores.

Stripped them of their language.

Spit on them.
Whipped them.

Told them they weren't shit.
Shit ON them.

Raped their women and made the men watch.

Then, after wringin them dry sighed and said okay I'll give you --give you -- your freedom.

Which we know now is false because freedom is taken. Never given.

So anyway along with the giving of the false freedom, we were given neighborhoods. Little bullshit jobs.

Jobs that we clinged to because who knows when white people are gonna be generous again?

Or when they're gonna be vindictive and sweep through our hoods, snatch a young twenty year old in his prime, beat him to death or shoot in the head and say he had mad traffic tickets.

This anxiety breeds fear.

Which is exactly what white people want from us.

And fear breeds hatred.

But not hatred of that which you fear.

Hatred of self for being seemingly helpless.

Hatred that someone can steal from you. That someone can take the valuables that white people were so generous enough to give you in the first place.

And who do you fight in the house when you don't feel like facin' them real treacherous ninjas out in the street?

Your brother.

Who would you hate when white people don't put your picture on magazine racks in the checkout aisle?

Your brother or sister.

But our enemy is not our brother or sister. Shidddd, they in the same struggle as us.

Our enemy is the one that binds us. The one that put us in this fucked up trap to begin with.

Our enemy is anything that bars our progress.

But all the lies and weaves of deception have expiration dates.

No lie lasts forever.

The game is laid out.
Decode it.

This should be common knowledge.
As common as the alphabet.

Or as common as the ease of which one can rattle off Jay-Z's discography.

It should be a part of all Black Consciousness.

So much so that when it's realized, INSTANTLY people should snap awake and say we gotta get together. Yesterday.

We gotta shed white people and get us some land.

Now why isn't it this sorta thing common knowledge?

Why aren't Black People growing?

Black People feel they are outta style.

There is only one voice in the country.
And that is the voice of white people.

And at every turn white people are telling you
"hey if you ain't white (or white-like), you aint right".

I've told this story before but I'll repeat as many times as necessary.

When I was a youngin and I was mad at my people and I was really wild and frustrated an oldhead pulled my coat and told me that it took them 150 years to get us this way and it's at least gonna take us that, more or maybe double to get back.

So if the Emacipation Proclamation was in 1862, 150 years later would bring us up to like, what? 2012 or something, right?

(Speaking of which, that's when the mythology of Jesus, God, Annanuki, and Judgement (of) days or Ages will touch us. Sike. I'm just kidding.)

So anyway, we only been tryin to stand since 1862.

That's 145 years.

I say we should all be awake and aware by now.

But we all grow at different paces.

That's the only hope I have, because other than that, I think that there will be a large portion of our people that are gonna be left behind because they can't let go of the weakness that white people have instilled in them.

-Black People

(The above was a bit heavy. But for smaller squabbles like "they wear chucks in l.a., bump go-go in D.C. and wear perms in ohio" I don't think the deep rooted hatred of self is there. Maybe it's just a light reflection? I dunno. Naw. Naw. Everyone's gonna be proud of their home. 'Specially if something originates there.)

(You know where I'm 'bout to go next, right Gawga?)

I agree with a lot of things you said pertaining to our thoughts and actions being controlled by our past but not all of our problems end  with the white man even though a lot of them started there..We need to focus on us more and learn our past instead of being a part of it..One thing i've learned is the more you devote your time to negative thoughts and situations the more negative you'll become and that's why the majority of us are walking around with fucked up personalities and a chip on our shoulder..It's like a parent beating the shit out of their kids because they had a fucked up day at work..Well that's what we do to each other..All the frustrations we have from dealing with the bullshit is taken out on innocent people because we don't know how to express ourselves without getting ignorant and out of control..So, we bring all that ignorance and frustration home to the people we love most..If that ain't some backwards ass thinking I don't know what is..

One of my aunts gave me some of the best advice in my life...I was so negative about a lot of things because of the cards I was dealt and the frustration was eating at me..She told me there's a lesson to be learned in every situation..Even if the outcome ends in a negative manner look to find the lesson in the situation so that you never make that mistake again and you can teach others so that they won't have to go through the same things..No matter how much we get beat down we always need to think positive thoughts and get something out of every situation..Once that happens we'll go back to who we were, which are the original Kings and Queens of this lost civilization..

Question.

Is it not ok to appreciate and respect what Malcolm X has done for  his people without going through the NOI procedure?

In order to be influenced by Malcolm X, you have to follow Elijah's teachings as well?

Im not sure I agree with that message.  But if you will, do further explain.

Nick Saban's team (alabama) lost to Louisiana-Monroe this weekend. That's like Michigan losing to Appalachian State, just an embarrassing loss that never should have happened. But anyways, in a press conference, he said that people unite after catastrophe's and included Pearl Harbor and 9/11 in the discussion.

HP, I would never judge how someone expresses their respect for another.

My comment was me being hard on myself. Those are my own standards.

And I'm a glutton and a sponge for wisdom.

I like to go to the root of my interests.

The surface appearance, message and appeal of people, places and things can be so fleeting and temporary.

Guess it would be an accuate assesment to say that, yes, I was kid who broke a lotta of my toys just cuz "I wanted to see how they worked."

Then my dad hooked me up with the microscope box set. I'll never forget that. It was waitin for me when I got home from school on a friday. I was 11.

Boss up, feel free to read anything that I post in front of your class.

The last part about chucks was meant to touch the very MINOR differences that people have in specific regions.

I tried to use extremes because they don't have a go-go scene in L.A.

They don't rock chucks and cortez nikes in ohio the way they do here in L.A.

And in D.C. men don't wear perms (least not anymore).

I was laying the groundwork for versatility in thinking.

And the accepting of things that make others unique especially when they are exclusive to one region.

Do you understand what I'm talking about? Or do you need me to clarify even further?

The reason I was tossin out that safety net was because Gawga and I are about to lock horns (just a figure of cyberspeech) on up north, down south and rap vs hip hop.

The eternal, internal struggle.

Gawga I respect the game ya aunt gave you. I'll implement it.

You do realize though that an essential part of learning and overcoming our past is that we take a very close look at our interaction with white people, right?

I can think of no other stimulus in all of people of colour's history that is a pivotal as our exposure to white people.

But Gawga, I'm bout to leave.

I don't really have a problem with what Saban said. People tried to take it like he was saying that the game was the same as those 2 events. I think he should have left the examples out. People can relate to what he's sayin without them. He could have just said that after you hit rock bottom, that's when you regroup, and really turn things around. People would have connected it to whatever they choose. But I think the big fuss over it is that they don't want someone who's in the spotlight like that to say 9/11 and Pearl Harbor in the same sentence as football.

I hear what your saying though, and I agree with a lot of things that were mentioned.  I also agree with what Gawga said in regards to the focu being less on the whtie folks and moreso ourselves.  This is an internal battle that we're are fighting here.

I completely understand what you are saying pertaining to our pasts with white people but I don't want to focus too much on them when the majority of our problems are internal..It started with them but it's our problem now and we need to fix it from within and stay focused on changing things instead of discussing our past continually..It's always going to be new things to learn about our past and we should know those things but it's not good to dwell on anything or it'll eat begin to eat you up and take you down instead of giving you the fuel to continue to push forward and change things..Why do you think we lose sight of all our dreams and goals? It ain't all them beating us down on a regular basis..It's also self hatred because we aren't doing anything to change the things around us...Not because we can't it's  because we aren't..

See I honestly think part of our issue is always worrying about what the white man is doing..Look at the reason why the majority of us are in debt..Look at the reason we have so much animosity towards one another..I can go on and on about that shit and it all leads back to negative thoughts and actions..Why not look at the issues and focus on what we are going to do to correct them instead of just talking about them..We as black people always talking about things and complaining but when it's time for some action we are nowhere to be found except when our so called leaders tell us to jump i.e. Jena 6 and Genarlow Wilson...

Yea I feel you.  I respect what the NOI did for Malcolm and people like him.  I think they said to this date that the NOI was the most effective int he community as far as rehabbing people.  I think some social centers were trying to egt them to tell how they were able to do it.  Off of that alone they deserve respect.  Far as me though, i just dont feel that I have to be NOI or follow there teachings to be inspired by Malcolm X.  But I can understand the importance of understanding his background.

As far as the music vid.  I think the dudes got a lot of potential.  The hook was catchy, a couple of them had nice flow, and they had a break out beat.  Thats the formula for success in the game right there.  I like that they was in the hood adn tehy didnt emphasize too much on trying to look hood fab.  Too many of these dudes be out here dressing up the hood with gold this and gold that.  Would make a nigga want to go back there if you aint know right.

well my real name is Nikki too, so for the record, i would be the original, if that was something to be proud of!

cause, um, i was actually alive when the song came out!

she a silly lil young ass hoe!

that song was actually kind of torturous to me during my childhood!

i was young enough to not fully understand the meaning. but i knew it had to do with sex.

however, all the kids always sang that song to me, in a teasing way, of course.

and i didn't appreciate it, altho i might've liked the fact that my name was in a Prince song.

i might've thought that was special. who knows, i was only like 6 or 7.

anyway just wanted to note that: she is trippin and that's not cute/fly!

she might as well just get a big ass tattoo on her forehead that says: "YES, I'M A HOE...AND PROUD OF IT 2! BITCH!"

@HP

Basically Kellz is hard to work with as we all know. Just like the Best of Both World's Tour with Jay Z, the ego of R (pervert) Kelly is bigger than Hammer's heyday entourage!
Basically Ne said that when Kellz come through the halls no one is to be  present. As he calls it, It is a "code blue" situation. That includes other touring artists not being seen!
In the Columbus show, there were 7  dressing rooms and since Neyo has a live band and dancers, he wasn't able to use ANY OF THEM TO GET HIS TEAM PREPARED! TALK ABOUT ARROGANCE!
He also mentioned the fact that he had only 2 hours to do the soundcheck rehearsal or face the wrath of R Kellz "goons" kicking him off stage!
He mentioned never even seeing or accessing R kellz to speak about the situation  mano to mano!! Then he mentioned how the crowd was feeling his set and suggested that jealousy may have crept in the equation. Bottom line is he said he had profound respect for kellz prior to the tour but NOW HE LOST MAJOR RESPECT FOR THE R&B "BULLY" (my words)

We all know there were Pilgrims and Indians, right? Maybe not. Either way, we shouldn't celebrate this day as the one in which Pilgrims and Indians came together in harmony. It was far from that. The Pilgrims were savages, and fucked an entire people. This is kind of long, but if you don't know the information, it's worth reading. You should read it anyways and remind yourself. Be Thankful for what you've got and know that it can be taken away at any time, at the hands of your enemy, or worse, your 'friends'.

exactly man..that shit stems from when you're a kid. I was always the one gettin told on when I was a jit, and I would have to beat my brothers' ass. Then I would get in trouble for that. My little brother act like he aint want to learn, but I taught his ass after a while..Once we got a little older and I could actually do some decent damage when I hit him once, he knew what time it was if he was tellin

Americans mark Thanksgiving the way their forebears didn't

WASHINGTON (AFP) - When Americans sit down on Thursday to eat stuffed Thanksgiving turkey, cranberry sauce and mashed potatoes, followed by a slice of pumpkin pie, many think they are upholding a 400-year-old tradition.

They aren't.

The meal which settlers from England shared with native Americans in 1621, which has come to be known as the first Thanksgiving, probably didn't feature many of the culinary favorites that grace tables at present day Thanksgivings, and almost definitely did not happen in November, a food historian told AFP.

Indeed, 1621 wasn't even a festival of giving thanks, but was "clearly a harvest festival," said Kathleen Curtin of the Plimoth Plantation in Massachusetts, where a 17th-century farming village set up by English colonists on native American tribal lands has been recreated.

"We know that the meal in 1621 included venison, brought by the Wampanoag Indians, and wild fowl -- probably geese and duck hunted by the settlers," Curtin told AFP.

"They didn't have stuffing. They didn't have cranberry sauce because it requires too much sugar. And they probably had pumpkin but no flour or butter for pie crust," she said.

"We don't think there was much alcohol because the settlers' barley harvest wasn't very successful, and they didn't have time to brew anything," she added.

Curtin also stood another tradition on its head by saying the first Thanksgiving happened in September or early October rather than late November.

US President George W. Bush on Monday cast more doubt on whether the 1621 dinner in Plymouth marked the first Thanksgiving, as he recalled a group of English settlers who prayed at what is now Berkeley Plantation in Virginia two years before then.

No feasting took place at the Berkeley Thanksgiving, as Bush called it -- but then the idea of a massive feast is another myth.

"Thanksgiving was a religious event the English settlers had every fall, which was followed up with feasting. We know it was marked around New England in the late 1600s," said Curtin.

"Over time, the feasting became more important and the religious part became less and less important.

"Finally, we got football and something had to go -- it was the church service."

Today's Thanksgiving dinners are often digested in front of the television, while a football game is aired.

The reason why a big to-do is made over the dinner of 1621 is that historians believe it was the first time native Americans and English settlers celebrated a harvest together, said Curtin.

Adam Fortunate Eagle Nordwall, a tribal elder on the Fallon Indian Reservation in Nevada, agreed.

"Native Americans were having harvest festivals forever, and so were the English back in England. They did it together in 1621," Fortunate Eagle told AFP.

But he and Curtin differed over who hosted whom in 1621.

"The native Americans were being generous hosts and sharing their bounty with the pitiful English. It was the generosity and the sharing of the native Americans that made it possible for the settlers to survive in the new world," Fortunate Eagle said.

"The English would certainly have been playing host ... but they were in the middle of the Wampanoag homeland, and Massasoit, the leader of the Wampanoag people, would certainly have expected that he would be welcome," said Curtin.

Thanksgiving officially moved to late November in 1863, when president Abraham Lincoln, in the middle of the bloody civil war, proclaimed the fourth Thursday of the month as a day for giving thanks.

Even Native Americans have got "sucked into the tradition of holding Thanksgiving in November," Fortunate Eagle told AFP.

"We have a feast down at the tribal hall," said the former activist for native rights.

"Everyone's welcome to join in, but, oddly enough, very few white people come from town to share with us.

"Those lousy pilgrims ... 400 years later, they still haven't been able to say 'thank you' to the native Americans who helped make all of this possible."

Thanksgiving meals at the Plimoth Plantation feature many of the foods and drink that did not grace the ground -- they didn't have tables -- in 1621.

Fortunate Eagle, too, will be giving thanks, surrounded by family at a heavily laden dinner table on Fallon reservation.

"We're having turkey and ham," he told AFP.

"Ham -- we got that from the Europeans and we thank them for it," he said.
