It was fun while it was rumored. But, sadly I heard this rumored Nas / Jay-Z album is a bust already. From what I was told, Hot 97 had an interview with Jay-Z and Mary and they were promoting their upcoming tour. Well, they asked Jay about it and he said something like, “Man that’s unfounded, I just heard about that rumor yesterday." Well, Jay should read AllHipHop more often so we can debunk this stuff faster. Now, Jay did say he would like to do an album with Mary (see above for proof). Mary was there too, but that’s just jibba jabber about her not being better than Whitney. Stand up Mary!

T.I. GETS THE OFFER OF A LIFETIME!

I am so happy to be a square type dude these days. I am hearing from reliable sources down in Atlanta that the Feds have made their offer to Clifford Joseph Harris, Jr aka T.I. aka T.I.P. They are saying prosecutors offered him a 15-year plea. From what I understand, just possessing a silencer carries at 10-year bid. Then there are the priors. Ohhhhhhhh…how I hope Tip doesn’t go down over something like this.

T.I.: It's entitled Paper Trail, because this is the first time since my very first album that I'm actually writing down lyrics on paper like the old days. From Trap Muzik to T.I. vs. T.I.P. I would always listen to the music, formulate in my head what I wanted to say, step into the booth and rhyme. I never really wrote anything down since I'm Serious, and people were saying that they were missing that sound, and that they were looking forward to that sound being brought back again.

GOTDAMN IT! RAS KASS GETS THREE YEARS IN JAIL!

Ras is in JAIL right now and will be serving another THREE years in jail for that violation. People, just play by the rules for a few please! He’ll be gone for three Novembers. THE GOOD SIDE. Super underground producer Domingo will be releasing the next album for Ras, Institutionalized Vol 2. The irony is too thick to mention. Domingo and Ras are collaborating on Deranged Music/Re-up Entertainment. Domingo is more than respectable as a producer and is known as a very good dude. Hold it down!

DR. DRE IS IN THE STUDIO!

Normally, this would be a “illseed quickie,” but since it is Dr. Dre, we have to talk about it. Anyway, the good doctor – according to my sources - is in the studio with Scott Storch working on his long-awaited Detox album. Sources have learned that the West Coast based-producer who rarely travels is now in Miami to record with Storch. Dre and Storch’s last collaboration was in 2001.

SIGNS THE WORLD IS COMING TO AN END

SMH at the faculty at Elizabeth City State University. The school somehow thought it was a great idea to stage a mock shooting spree on the college campus. Wait. Here is the catch. They didn’t tell any of the students that it was fake. Furthermore, they did this a mere eight days after the tragedy at Northern Illinois University, where five people were slained by a renegade gunman. WOW. Here is how it went down according to the AP:

The News & Observer of Raleigh reported in Wednesday's editions that an armed man burst into a classroom Friday, threatening to kill students. The drill came eight days after a gunman killed five people and himself in a classroom at Northern Illinois University.

Anthony Brown, vice chancellor of student affairs, said ECSU was testing its response to such shootings. E-mail and text messages were sent five days before the drill, notifying students, staff and faculty, he said.

"The intent was not to frighten them but to test our system and also to test the response of the security that was on campus and the people that were notified," Brown said.

The problem is, email gets missed by people such as myself. You know how it goes! So, people were “assaulted” and “held hostage,” not knowing it was a drill. The school has been offering counseling to faculty and students. "I was prepared to die at that moment," said Jingbin Wang, a student. Papa Musica – thanks!
