Almost 10 years after it graced the big screen, ATL is getting a sequel. T.I and the film’s director Chris Robinson took to Instagram to confirm that Rashad, Esquire, Brooklyn and Teddy would be at it again.
“#ATL WAS A CLASSIC #ATL2 WILL BE LEGENDARY!!!” posted Robinson. “‘AND SO IT BEGINS’ THE CREW @troubleman31 @jackielong @albeback @itsjasonweaver #RITF #BONG.”Chris Robinson will be handling the directorial duties.
Tip also uploaded a pic of him and “New New,” played by Lauren London.
The film draws from experiences of ATL‘s producers, Dallas Austin and TLC’s Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins, while growing up in Atlanta. The prequel grossed over $11 million at the box office during its opening weekend back in 2006.
No word on when the flick will hit theaters.
