The 1990’s garnered many R&B groups but none quite like Jodeci. It was an era dominated by New Jack Swing where Jodeci married R&B soul and Hip Hop to create a sound that is classic and timeless even today. You can’t talk about R&B, soul, and New Jack Swing without mentioning Jodeci, the Bad Boys of R&B; the Black Guns and Roses. Their reunion is arguably the biggest reunion in R&B/ Hip-Hop history with 20 years since their last studio album and 9 years since a performance with all four members.

The iconic R&B group, Jodeci, invaded Atlanta, G.A. last night as they brought the house down to a packed out house at The Tabernale. The legendary group showed up and showed out, proving once again that they are legends, and why their music is regarded as a staple in the R&B and Hip Hop genres.

It felt like a classic concert night in the ’90s as R&B singer Case opened the show, rocking the crowd with his classics “Touch Me, Tease Me” and “Happily Ever After”. Although Jodeci waited 20 years to put out their fourth album, it sure didn’t feel like they had even been gone from the scene a year when they ran through their timeless hits. You know your music is timeless and influential when you can pack out concert venues 20 years later singing primarily your past hits. Fellow R&B legendary groups such as Boyz II Men, New Edition, and The Isley Brothers, have had the same success.

Jodeci ran through their extensive catalog as they performed their hits “Come & Talk To Me, “Stay”, “Freek’N U”, “Love U 4 Life”, “Forever My Lady”, “Cry For You”, “Feenin'”, “Get On Up” and their new single “Every Moment”.

When the quartet got to their classic “My Heart Belongs To You”, they also performed Drake’s “How About Now” that samples the very same song. In celebration of the late and great Tupac Shakur, Jodeci performed “How Do You Want It”, a hit that featured group members K-Ci and JoJo alongside Tupac.

The crowd was energetic and enthused to see one of the best male groups of all time perform once again, especially since the rumors of their return went on for over a decade.

Celebrities in attendance included Tank, Keri Hilson, Rodney Perry, Yung Joc, Pastor Troy, D. Woods and more.

Jodeci has made quite the return to the music industry with a brand new album, The Past, The Present, The Future, an elaborate press run in major markets, and a spectacular performance at the 2014 Soul Train Awards that had the entire Orleans Arena on their feet.
