Lil Woody was arrested in Georgia after authorities say he took part in a chaotic street racing event that involved water balloons and reckless driving.
The rapper was charged with facilitating an illegal exhibition of drag racing during a “Wet and Wild” gathering on June 22 in Lawrenceville.
According to police, Copeland was seen “throwing water balloons and hanging out of the sunroof of a car laying drags” near Cruse and Oakland roads.
The arrest was made public on July 4, nearly two weeks after the incident. Copeland was later released on a $1,300 bond. The 33-year-old artist is no stranger to headlines.
He previously made waves as a central witness in the YSL RICO case in Atlanta, where his cooperation with prosecutors drew widespread attention due to his antics and hilarious responses to prosecutors’ questions which helped derail the case against Young Thug.
While no injuries were reported at the June 22 event, police described the scene as dangerous and disruptive, with vehicles performing stunts and people engaging in unsafe behavior.
Authorities have been cracking down on illegal street racing across Georgia, citing concerns for public safety.
Events like the one Copeland allegedly participated in have become more frequent during summer months, often promoted through social media.
