ATL Live On The Park May Edition With Calvin Richardson, Angie Stone & More

For the May edition of ATL Live on the Park, event founders Shanti Das and Marlon Nichols partnered with the City of Atlanta Office of Cultural Affairs to partake in the Atlanta Jazz Festival’s ’31 Days of Jazz’. The special edition presented performances by Jordan House/Primary Wave recording artist Calvin Richardson with surprise guest, R&B star Angie Stone. Vintage Nation from Twelve Music/Artist Connect & Zone 4 Inc also rocked the stage and was named ‘the future of music’ by industry veteran Shanti Das. Singer/songwriter Angel Grant opened up the night with a heartfelt performance. Sponsored by Gentleman Jack and MAJIC 107.5, guests also enjoyed sounds by DJ Mars and a performance by the event house band Quinn and the Jukebox.

Sultry singer Angel Grant kicked off the night with a few of her originals after she thanked Shanti and Marlon for creating a platform for emerging artists like herself. Vintage Nation, performed timeless covers including ‘Uptown Funk,’ ‘Free Fallin’ and ‘Don’t Stop Believing’ by Journey. The electrifying group ended their performance by introducing one of their original songs to the pumped crowd. Immediately following, Calvin Richardson performed several covers including the crowd favorite ‘That’s the Way I Feel About You’ by Bobby Womack. He concluded his amazing performance with surprise guest Angie Stone. They performed their hit single ‘More than a Woman.’

Special guests in attendance included Polow Da Don, Keri Hilson, Jazze Pha, Greg Smith of SESAC , Angel McCoughtry of the WNBA- Atlanta Dream, and former NFL linebacker Stevie Baggs. Season 6 of ATL Live on the Park returns June 9, 2015 with live performances by Lyfe Jennings, Demetria McKinney and more.
