(AllHipHop News) Do not let the alluringly innocent appearance fool you, Elle Varner has a razor tongue and is not afraid to use it. The prolific songwriter exclusively spoke to AllHipHop about Kendrick Lamar’s “Control” verse, her boyfriend at the time, Iman Shumpert’s response and her own response to Beyonce’s “Bow Down”.
In mid-March, Beyonce sent the music industry in a stir with her song “Bow Down” wherein she essentially told her R&B competition whom may have been inspired by her to “bow down, b*tches. While Elle believes the song was really good, she did say she might have a diss song in the holster:
I actually made a song kind of dissing everybody. It’s called “Coming For Your Neck”. Who knows, I might put it out. But at the end of the day, I’m a writer and I’m a great writer. So, I might say some sh*t one day but then it’d be like “la la la, playing in the forest.”
Elle also commented on the reaction to Kendrick Lamar’s “Control” verse. The loquacious singer gave a “no comment” when her friend J. Cole was mentioned but did speak on Iman Shumpert’s response to the polarizing Kendrick Lamar verse:
I give him props, because he does whatever he wants to do. Everybody doesn’t have the confidence to do that. So say what you want but the man did something the next day and we’re still waiting on a few responses.
