Angry Twitter Mob Hosts #EminemIsOverParty

(AllHipHop News) Eminem has come under fire from fans on social media for his repeated use of homophobic slurs in his music, after reuniting with his “uncle” Elton John at the Oscars on Sunday.

The rapper scooped the Best Original Song title for “Lose Yourself,” the lead track from his semi-autobiographical movie, “8 Mile,” back in 2003.

However, he skipped the ceremony that year, and hit the stage on Sunday to deliver a surprise rendition – which became the most trending moment on social media from the awards show.

The performance also allowed Eminem to catch up with pal Elton John, who won the prize this year for “(I’m Gonna) Love Me Again” from “Rocketman.”

“I got to see my Uncle Elton tonight at the Oscars. Congrats on your win too, Sir!” Eminem captioned the image.

However, fans on social media were quick to call out the friendship, with one questioning, “‘I wonder how Elton John feels about Eminem still using homophobic slurs in his music.”

“Remember when Eminem performed with Elton John to prove he wasn’t homophobic? Because that was a thing that actually happened,” another stated, referring to their performance of the rapper’s iconic hit Stan at the Grammy Awards in 2001, while a third posted, “Thinking about the time when I was telling 2 (people) Eminem was wrong for using the f word and that it’s homophobic and they went ‘he can’t be homophobic otherwise he wouldn’t be friends with Elton John’.”

And even actor Billy Eichner weighed in on the controversy, adding: “Well, you can still sing the word ‘f##got’ a million times and still perform at the Oscars that’s about ‘diversity.’ Mmkay.”

Shortly after the performance, the hashtags “#EminemIsCANCELLED” and “#EminemIsOverParty” began trending on Twitter, in response to his controversial lyrics.

The star, real name Marshall Bruce Mathers III, recently came under fire over his new tune “Unaccommodating,” from his chart-topping album Music to Be Murdered By, which features “sickening” references to the 2017 bombing at Ariana Grande’s Manchester Arena gig.

Ceelo Green Says Hardest Part About “The Masked Singer” Was Getting Into His Outfit

(AllHipHop News) Ceelo Green has admitted the hardest part of being on “The Masked Singer U.K.” was dealing with his heavy Monster costume.

The “Forget You” singer was the ninth contestant to be unveiled on the British singing competition on Saturday night, although his identity had been speculated about for weeks beforehand.

In an interview after the semi-final aired, CeeLo revealed he found it more than a little challenging to perform in such a huge, heavy, furry outfit.

“The toughest part of the process was the physical labor I believe,” he said. “To be able to wear the weight of the costume, also focus on performing, giving the audience animation and giving them energy and charisma, but then also finding your breathing and your breath control and being able to sing the songs effectively.

“All at the same time, so it’s a lot to think about and juggle.”

CeeLo also admitted he would have loved to stay in the competition and make it to the final, adding: “It was a little disappointing, you know? I definitely would’ve liked to win once I got to that point.

“But nonetheless it was a wonderful experience and I’m glad I made it that far so no love lost.”

Other stars to be unveiled on the show have included Lil Wayne, Kelis and Skin from Skunk Anansie.

Nicki Minaj Was “Bullied” Into Releasing New Single “Yikes”

(AllHipHop News) Rapper Nicki Minaj was “bullied” into rush-releasing her new single, “Yikes.”

The “Moment 4 Life” hitmaker’s latest material hit streaming services on Friday, days after teasing social media followers with a brief preview of the tune last Monday.

Fans responded so well, Nicki Minaj claims she felt pressured to finish the song and release it to the masses – while her label chiefs also apparently pressed her to complete the track.

The newlywed hip-hop star made the remarks in a Twitter question and answer session, when one devotee asked her how “Yikes” came about.

“I was playing a snippet for my crazy fans & they made me put it out,” she replied. “They are bullies. I only had 1 verse done. The label bullied me too. I’ve been bullied.”

Nicki Minaj went on to share how she improvised the hook – and she loved it so much, she left it in.

“I made up the hook with no (lyrics written on) paper,” she explained. “Just freestyled in the booth cuz I loved the beat. so the yikes part is me hearing the beat for the very first time. The verses I wrote down. The outro was a freestyle.”

“Yikes” is Minaj’s first solo single of the year, but the initial teaser drew some harsh criticism after she referenced late civil rights activist Rosa Parks and her role in sparking the Montgomery bus boycott of 1955 in the lyrics.

“All you b##ches Rosa Parks/Uh oh, get your a## up,” she raps on the track, which was previewed on the eve of what would have been Parks’ 107th birthday.

Nicki Minaj blamed “bad timing” for the controversy, while sources alleged she didn’t mean to “offend or disrespect Parks.”

However, Nicki Minaj has since made it clear she was unaware of any backlash – and she wouldn’t have taken notice anyway.

“Never said this,” she posted on Instagram Stories, alongside the headline. “Had no clue anyone was mad. Don’t care. #Yikes.”

The single is expected to feature on the follow up to 2018’s Queen album.

“That other clip under covers pulled up quick with the iphones out on my life . I was tryna see what was going on…it was all Marcy love,” wrote Drizzy.

It has not been officially confirmed what Drake was working on during his stop in NYC, but according to Rap Radar‘s Brian “B. Dot” Miller, the OVO superstar was shooting something in connection to an unreleased song supposedly titled “Say When.” The track is said to be in the same vein as “5 AM in Toronto,” “6 PM in New York,” and “4 PM in Calabasas.”

Eminem’s Surprise Performance Named Top Social Moment From 2020 Oscars

Eminem’s “Lose Yourself” became the first Hip Hop record to win Best Original Song at the 75th Academy Awards. The tune off the 8 Mile soundtrack also won Grammys for Best Rap Song and Best Male Rap Solo Performance.

“Look, if you had another shot, another opportunity… Thanks for having me @TheAcademy. Sorry it took me 18 years to get here,” tweeted Em. He added footage from 2003 of “Lose Yourself” co-writer Luis Resto accepting the Oscar on his behalf.

A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie Blasts Artists That Are Trying To Sound Like Him

(AllHipHop News) A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie recently declared he is the “King Of My City” with a new song of the same name. The braggadocious talk from the Bronx native did not stop there.

A Boogie also got a response from an R&B/Hip Hop legend. T-Pain replied to the 24-year-old Atlantic Records signee by tweeting, “Welcome to the club brother. We have meetings on Thursdays .”

Ari Lennox Apologizes To Oprah And Gayle

(AllHipHop News) Last week Ari Lennox blasted Oprah Winfrey and her best friend, journalist Gayle King, stating that they were party to a conspiracy to tear down Black men. She has now apologized for her actions in a long letter that has been published to her Tumblr account.

The singer states that she considers her following her “besties” and that she has gotten too comfortable with the notion in her venting sessions on social media.

“Kale” and “Okra,” her name for Gayle and Oprah have not responded to their public malign from the new school singer. The Gayle King interview with WNBA superstar Lisa Leslie appeared to focus on Kobe Bryant’s 2003 rape case.

“I’m not here for anybody tearing down that legendary man,” she of the interview. “I’m sick, I’m disgusted, you don’t care about Black people.”

In the lengthy rant, she also says she is taking a break from social media.

From My Heart To Yours

I am sorry. I was acting like an ass. Im sorry for being insensitive. I truly love y’all so much. I swear to god i be meaning well. I’m not the most structured when i start talking and that has been a blessing and curse. I’ve grown too comfortable with viewing my supporters as my bestie that I can freely vent to with no repercussions. I feel the need to protect people that I feel are genuinely good people. If you know me, you know I speak on what’s unjust in MY mind. But it doesn’t matter if ultimately my opinion is perceived as toxic and ignorant and harmful. I made it very clear who specifically I was talking about but Carry on with your misconstrued judgement of me. My heart is in the right place and I can only pray you’ll one day see that. I see what’s being said and I feel the pain of those I genuinely I hurt and I’m sorry. I realize I need to s### and stay offline. It’s so mentally draining trying to do good and it comes out completely detrimental. I’m sorry for triggering people and I’m sorry if I caused any trauma. Im sorry for victim shaming, swear that wasn’t my intent. I repeat that WAS NOT my intent. I’m learning how to deal with my feelings in private like most people in music. You see there is no room for growth in this industry publicly it is best to find your way in private. To have healthy and productive conversations in private. I shouldn’t be aimlessly figuring it out in front of y’all. I was speaking on a very sensitive topic and I failed to facilitate sensitively, intelligently and healthily. I impulsively spiraled cause I was sick of seeing the distasteful shade especially at such a terrible and sad time towards someone I know is good person. With that said I wasn’t trying to discredit other people and their truths and opinions. Also I don’t need black men to stick up for me in order to do what I know is right in my heart and that’s speak up if I feel people are being distasteful towards them. Same goes for black women especially! everything I do is for black girl magic, glory, unity and our greatness. I INNATELY love on my people and don’t need a specific reason to look out but ultimately I want to be better and do it better. I want to grow. I want to be a light. I want to be enlightened. I’m not out here trying to protect toxic individuals. That’s not what I believe i did. My opinion, though filled with disarray came from a place of love and empathy and sadness. But my delivery was harmful. I shouldn’t have disrespected anyone in trying to communicate my feelings. Honestly I should’ve just ate my food and booked a therapy session. I love you genuinely. I’m excited to leave social media for good. I’m excited for true self love, healing, understanding and peace. To all the people who checked me from a place of love, I love you forever and I hear you and I deeply empathize more than you’ll ever know. I would love to keep the conversation going in real life. Don’t want to move in this world hurting people. Thank you for your constructive criticism. Thanks for checking me. IG live it’s been a fun ride sweet angel baby cakes, but our mental peace is most important so I’m out <3

Malika Haqq continued her speech also thanking the women in her life for their continuous support during her pregnancy. She stated, “I have nothing against co-ed baby showers, but I will say the reason why I wanted a baby shower full of women was because it’s you women that helped me get through this pregnancy 100%.”

“Power” Gears Up For Season Finale And Sequel

(AllHipHop News) Starz is gearing up for the season finale of “Power” tonight (February 9th) at 9 pm.

The series showrunner Courtney Kemp recently spoke to Variety about the show’s final run.

“We have not had a lot of really rich, black anti-heroes yet,” she said. “And I think what’s really important is that we’re now able to be free of the shackles of needing to have only portrayals that are saintly or only portrayals that are sinners — that Ghost is somewhere in between; that he’s as complex as a Tony Soprano, as a Walter White, that we can enter that conversation and still be of color.”

While “Power” is coming to an end, a spinoff is in the works. The series, titled “Power Book II: Ghost,” will star Mary J. Blige and rapper Method Man, who was previously announced to star in the spinoff.

There’s no official confirmation if Joseph Sikora, who plays Tommy Eagen, or Michael Rainey Jr., who plays Ghost and Tasha’s son Tariq, will appear on the show.

About which characters will appear in the sequel, specifically those who have survived, 50 Cent told USA Today: “You will see those characters. I won’t necessarily say how you’ll see them.” Last month, 50 also shared on On Air With Ryan Seacrest, that the new series will premiere on a Sunday sometime in June.

Drake Looks Shook In Marcy Projects For Video!

(AllHipHop Rumors) Before you guys get started on me hating Drake, I don’t. I actually think he is Top 5 DOA of the modern era. But, being from Canada may not bode well when he comes stateside trying to get respect going to Jay-Z’s old hood without getting a hood pass. In a recent video, it looks like Drake went to Marcy Projects to do a video and was really, really nervous while shooting it. Now, we don’t know what this was for and perhaps there were some exceptionally rowdy dudes in the background, but Drake couldn’t even rap his lines. Now, look at this and tell me what you think.

View this post on Instagram

A post shared by Chuck Jigsaw Creekmur (@chuckcreekmur)

Clearly, from the 22 seconds in this clip, nobody can really tell what is going on. Maybe looking nervous is part of the video. Maybe Drake is acting out a part where he is required to be a shook one. Maybe Jay-Z or Memphis Bleek is a co-star and we don’t know about out! Anything can happen!

I know that Drake ain’t the sort of guy to do anything that would endanger his multi-million dollar life. Then, why do a video in the projects, when he ain’t even good in said projects. He should have sufficient good will and security to be able to shoot a video like when he is down south in the land that birthed his daddy.

EXCLUSIVE: Game’s Sex Assault Accuser Makes Move On His Assets

(AllHipHop News) The woman who won a $7.1 million judgment against Compton rapper Game is still targeting the rap star’s pockets.

Priscilla Rainey won a huge judgment against Game in October of 2019 after the rap star failed to reply to a sexual assault lawsuit stemming from his 2015 reality show, “She’s Got Game.”

A trio of judges shot down Game’s appeal of the verdict for blowing off hearings, and trashing Priscilla Rainey on his Instagram account.

Priscilla Rainey has been trying to seize the money from Game for a few years now.

Rainey maintains the rapper is deliberately hiding his money, to avoid paying the $7.1 million judgment.

In her latest attempt, Priscilla Rainey is asking a judge to seal the post-collection process from the public, in an attempt to avoid publicity, which might help her recover the debt.

“The purpose of the instant application is to prevent Jayceon Terrell Taylor aka ‘The Game’ from thwarting the Collection Motion’s purpose,” said Priscilla Rainey’s lawyer Michael Jason Lee.

“Taylor’s interest in sealing the Collection Motion far outweighs any public interest benefit, particularly because the documents will be unsealed once the purposes of the Collection Motion has been served,” said Michael Jason Lee.

Until the judgment is satisfied, Priscilla Rainey is hoping the judge will allow her to keep the battle for Game’s assets from the prying eyes of the media and the public.

The Game has adamantly claimed he is innocent, and he has also promised Priscilla Rainey she would never receive a dime.

“Let’s get one thing very CLEAR: that thirsty Gatorade mascot of a transvestite WILL NEVER see $10,000,000 or anything close 2 a penny of my money,” Game fumed. “Soon as I’m home, me & my lawyers will EAT THIS CASE like a box of Minion Twinkies on sale at Walmart!”

YBN Almighty Jay Has His Eyes On Draya

Draya is newly single, and I know there’s a few men who have their eyes on her.

One including, YBN Almighty Jay.

In a recent interview with Fox Soul, R&B singer Keyshia Cole asked the rapper if he had his eyes set on anyone special after his “gigolo” phase is over, and he let it be known that Draya is definitely on his radar.

“I ain’t gone lie, I kinda like Draya a little bit,” he revealed.

Cole asked if he went to her Grammy party and he said he went, but didn’t get the opportunity to speak with her. He said when the time is right, he’s definitely going to jump on the chance.

Not sure if Draya is ready for a new relationship yet. She and her ex-fiancé of six years, Orlando Scandrick, broke up late last year.

On Friday night she told her twitter followers that her DM’s are busy with men with newborn babies and girlfriends.

She also says she isn’t ready right now for anything serious.

Almighty has a lot to prove if he wants to get serious with the socialite. He has been linked to a few ladies including Blac Chyna and Dream Doll, so if he is looking to make a wife out of the model then he’s going to have to come correct.

Would y’all be here for this new celebrity couple?

During the Twitter Q&A, a fan asked the rapper if any new alter egos will appear on the album. She revealed that her upcoming album will feature a new alter ego named “Queen Sleeze.”

Nicki then teased some details about Queen Sleeze after a fan asked her to describe the new alter ego.

“She’s more calm but way deadlier. My husband always says he’s more afraid when I talk quiet then when I yell. Lmao. He said that’s how he knows when I’m dead tf serious.”

Nicki Minaj is known for her multiple alter egos. Throughout her rap career she has rapped under aliases like Roman Zolanski, Nicki Lewinsky, and The Harajuku Barbie.

The rap star also shared that she has the title of the album ready and how “Yikes” came about.

Nicki Minaj joked that fans and label “bullied” her into making the snippet she shared into a full song. She also stated that she freestyles the track’s outro.

“I made up the hook with no paper. Just freestyled in the booth cuz I loved the beat. so the yikes part is me hearing the beat for the very first time. The verses I wrote down. The outro was a freestyle,” Nicki said.

“Yikes” is currently No. 1 on the iTunes Store.

Snoop Dogg Says He Didn’t Threaten Gayle King

(AllHipHop News) Snoop Dogg wants to make it clear that he wants no harm done to Gayle King.

The rapper made an Instagram video on Saturday (February 8th) clarifying his previous comments about the correspondent earlier this week.

Snoop previously slammed King for mentioning Kobe Bryant’s 2003 rape case in an interview with Lisa Leslie on CBS this Morning.

King has since addressed the backlash, stating she’s mortified and embarrassed. She also stated that the interview clip was taken “out of context.”

In Snoop’s latest video, he stated, “I’m a non-violent person. When I said what I said, I spoke for the people who felt like Gayle was very disrespectful towards Kobe Bryant and his family.”

He continued, “what I look like wanting some harm to come to a 70-year-old woman? I was raised way better than that. I don’t want no harm to come to her and I didn’t threaten her, all I did was said, ‘check it out, you outta pocket for what you doing and we watching you. Have a little more respect for Vanessa, her babies, and Kobe Bryant’s legacy.’”

Snoop Dogg wrapped up the video reiterating that he’s a non-violent person and is only speaking his truth from the heart.

Looks Like Lil Keed Gave Young Thug A Lil Kiss!

(AllHipHop Rumors) On February 7, a video premiered of Lil Keed (somebody I personally didn’t know of previously) kissing Young Thug on his sweet cheek.

Now, this was apparently a tender moment between a pair of dudes that have love for each other. They The greeted one another, shook hands, and then Lil Keed kissed Thug’s cheek.

For those that are in the know, unlike me, this is no shocker. Young Thug previously told Lil Keed, “I love u,” which is really something that he had done in the past with others. They have a couple of songs together like “Proud of Me,” and “Fetish (Remix).”

Here they are…

Thug refers to him as “his son” so I don’t think there is any incest going on here.
