Martin Lawrence Addresses Tisha Campbell’s 1997 Sexual Harassment Lawsuit

(AllHipHop News) Many fans of the classic 1990s sitcom Martin are still upset about how the final season played out. Episodes of S5 came off as awkward to some viewers because main cast member Tisha Campbell (Gina Waters-Payne) barely appeared on the show.

The stilted storylines for season five were the result of Campbell suing series star Martin Lawrence (Martin Payne) and HBO Independent Productions for sexual harassment and abuse. She reportedly refused to film scenes with the stand-up comedian that year.

As rumors of a Martin reboot have made the rounds across the internet, it appears Lawrence and Campbell are back on good terms. GQ recently interviewed Martin and the topic of his falling out with Tisha came up.

“Yeah. Because none of that was true. It was all a lot of bullsh*t,” responded Lawrence when the interviewer mentioned Campbell’s lawsuit and the two entertainers now spending time together.

According to Martin, he and Tisha never spoke about the situation. The Bad Boys for Life actor said, “We don’t need to talk about something that just didn’t happen. So I just decided to walk away from the show. I just decided to end it. People said that I got canceled, but that wasn’t the case. I decided to just leave the show.”

Lawrence added that he sees Tisha “then and now, now and then.” The 54-year-old DMV native also expressed he has “nothing but love” for the actress that also appeared in School Daze, House Party, Boomerang, and My Wife and Kids.

Rae Sremmurd Rep Releases Statement About The Murder Of Duo’s Stepfather

(AllHipHop News) The family of Rae Sremmurd’s Slim Jxmmi and Swae Lee is dealing with a tragic incident. Floyd Sullivan, the siblings’ 62-year-old stepfather, was recently killed in Tupelo, Mississippi.

According to reports, 19-year old Michael Jamil Ali Sullivan was arrested for the murder of his father after undergoing a psychological review in a medical facility. Rae Sremmurd’s publicist, Juel Stanley, released a statement to local news affiliate WTVA.

“At this time on behalf of Slim Jxmmi and Swae Lee, we’d like to continue to keep the family in our prayers at such a delicate time,” stated Stanley. “Both Slim and Swae Lee are deeply saddened by the death of their stepfather but are thankful for the love and support from him throughout the years of their upbringing.”

The group’s representative continued, “Though his untimely death has come at such a surprise, we ask that the public just keep the family in great prayer and respect their privacy at this time.”

Slim Jxmmi (born Aaquil Iben Shamon Brown) and Swae Lee (born Khalif Malik Ibn Shamon Brown) lived in several states as children before their mother settled in Tupelo with Sullivan. The Brown brothers later moved to Atlanta in order to launch their music career with Mike Will Made-It’s EarDrummers record label.

O.T. Genasis Expresses Interest In Recording Music With Antonio Brown

(AllHipHop News) Antonio Brown is not currently signed to an NFL team, but the wide receiver is currently releasing music. His new single “Whole Lotta Money” was met with widespread negative reactions.

So can the former Pittsburgh Steeler actually make it as a legitimate recording artist? TMZ caught up with “CoCo” hitmaker O.T. Genasis to get his thoughts on Brown’s record. After giving some positive feedback, the Busta Rhymes protégé gave the song a 4.5/10 rating with a possibility of an 8/10 rating.

“It ain’t’ bad. I think it’s the fact that it’s Antonio Brown,” said Genasis. I think that some people wouldn’t take it that serious because it’s Antonio Brown, and the video looks a little too serious.”

The Atlanta-born, Long Beach-raised rapper went on to call former Atlanta Falcons/Atlanta Braves athlete Deion Sanders’ “Must Be the Money” the best song by a professional football player. O.T. Genasis also suggested that he is open to working with Brown.

“If I was in the studio with him, I would do a song with him. It’d be different if somebody just gave me a song to get on. But if we were in the studio together, for sure,” offered Genasis. “AB hit me up bro,”

Nicki Minaj Once Praised Madame Tussauds For Wax Figure Located In Berlin

(AllHipHop News) Many of the Barbz were not pleased when they saw images of a Nicki Minaj wax figure circulating around the internet. While the NYC-bred rapper’s fans took issue with the likeness of the statue, Minaj actually showed approval at one point.

That’s because, according to TMZ, the wax figure that is now on display at Madame Tussauds Berlin is the same wax figure unveiled at Madame Tussauds Las Vegas in 2015. More than four years ago, Nicki Minaj thanked the museum for that re-creation.

“OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO WTF?!?!?!?!??!?? Had no idea they were really doing this. I would’ve went to Vegas for this. #HappyBirthdayAnaconda Madam Tussauds Wax Figure- whoever did this ❤️ ❤️❤️ ,” posted Minaj on Instagram in 2015.

Apparently, Minaj’s team worked with Madame Tussauds to create the wax figure. It is now located in Germany because the institution lends out its collection to other locations around the world.

To start off 2020, Walker let loose a Lacey Duke-directed music video for “Come Thru.” The visuals quickly began trending on YouTube within hours of its release.

Over It also includes contributions by Bryson Tiller, 6lack, PartyNextDoor, and A Boogie wit da Hoodie. Summer’s boyfriend, London on da Track, executive produced the LP.

Antonio Brown Got Some Secret Beef With Logan Paul

It seems like NFL free agent Antonio Brown has some issues with youtuber, Logan Paul.

On Monday, Brown tweeted, “square up” to Paul who responded, “I’d drop you faster than the patriots.”

AB is having fun with this and is even retweeting bets online.

I know the football star has some new music that’s been released. So I’m unsure if he is doing all this to get more attention to his music.

But Paul did say he wanted to “f*ck him up” on a podcast back in December. I guess this is AB’s way of responding to the threats.

This could be a good way for the two to make some extra money, of course through a boxing match. They haven’t really had any positive PR lately so why not?

Would you be here for a boxing match between the two?

EXCLUSIVE: Lawyer Loses Bid To Silence Damon Dash In Legal War Over Control Of Movie

(AllHipHop News) Damon Dash emerged victorious in a round of a legal fight against an attorney he claims is extorting him.

Yesterday (January 6th) Judge Robert Lehrburger “declined” to rule on whether or not a gag order should be placed on Damon Dash over his repeated attacks on a lawyer named Christopher Brown on social media.

Last week, Christopher Brown ran to court to ask for the gag order, claiming Dame’s posts on social media could influence a jury pool.

Damon is at war with Brown and filmmaker Josh Webber over the movie “Dear Frank,” alternatively titled “The List,” by Damon Dash.

Webber claims Damon’s behavior on set caused their relationship to implode, and sparked a battle over control of the movie, which Webber has titled “Dear Frank.”

Damon has been aggressively defending himself, maintaining Webber ran off with the movie he titled “The List,’ which he says he financed and produced.

Damon Dash gave an explosive deposition on November 21st, where he verbally thrashed Brown.

The meeting at Shukat Arrow Hafer Weber & Herbsman in New York ended when the cops were called. Dame was ultimately sanctioned by the court for his behavior.

Damon Dash’s attacks only intensified when Christopher Brown announced he was representing a filmmaker named Monique Bunn in a $50 million lawsuit accusing the DDTV founder of groping her while she was sleeping and then stealing her hard drives and equipment.

Although Brown lost his attempt to quiet Damon Dash, Judge Lehrburger left the door open for a gag order to be imposed, if the lawyer can prove his case.

“If Plaintiffs maintain that a gag order is necessary, Plaintiffs must file a letter motion in accordance with this Court’s individual rules of practice, providing the factual and legal bases for the request,” Judge Lehrburger ruled.

Judge Lehrburger also ordered Damon to pay Christopher Brown’s $2,744.92 for the failed deposition.

Rae Sremmurd’s Step-Brother Accused Of Killing Their Dad

(AllHipHop News) Tragedy has struck the siblings of hip-hop duo Rae Sremmurd.

According to reports, the brothers’ step-dad was shot to death inside his house in Tupelo, Mississippi.

The police were dispatched to the house last night (January 6th) for reports of a dispute and arrived to find the body of 62-year-old Floyd Sullivan.

Sullivan was shot multiple times and police believe Slim Jxmmi and Swae Lee’s half-brother, Michael Sullivan was the triggerman.

Michael has yet to be charged with a crime because he is being held for psychiatric evaluation, but he’s the only person suspected of committing the murder.

Cops Plead For Help Solving YG Related Murder Case

(AllHipHop News) Los Angeles authorities have appealed to the public for help in solving a murder case involving a vehicle belonging to rapper YG.

The “Big Bank” star hit headlines in July when someone driving a Cadillac Escalade registered to the MC took police on a high-speed chase through L.A., opening fire with an assault rifle and killing a 65-year-old man riding a bike.

As cops tried to identify the suspect, YG insisted he was holed up in a recording studio at the time of the incident.

He has not been charged with any crime in relation to the case, although his Los Angeles home was raided over the summer as detectives searched for any evidence potentially linking him to the murder mystery.

Officials are still looking for answers, and now they have asked members of the general public for any information which may prove useful to solve the crime.

(AllHipHop News) Hip-Hop star Lizzo turned her Monday night concert in Sydney, Australia into a fundraiser as she collected donations for the country’s bushfire relief effort.

The “Truth Hurts” hitmaker took over the famed Sydney Opera House for her gig, and, in the lead up to showtime, appealed to attendees’ charitable sides as she revealed plans to have donation buckets set up around the venue.

Lizzo went on to criticize those who use the climate crisis as a political tool, insisting it’s up to everyone to take action to save the planet.

“I’m a firm believer in all of us being connected and all of us part of this planet, and a global citizen,” she explained.

“Moving into 2020, I just want to be really vigilant about the way the earth is moving. People who want to politicize climate change, just get away from my mentions. Unfollow me, don’t look at me, just pretend I’m blocked. ‘Cause it’s not about that for me, I don’t understand how nature can be a political issue. You don’t have to be the most intelligent scientist in the world to notice that temperatures have changed.”

EXCLUSIVE: Trey Songz Jane Doe Accuser Admonished By Judge

(AllHipHop News) The “Jane Doe” who filed a $10 million lawsuit against R&B singer Trey Songz is being admonished by the judge overseeing the case for hiding her identity.

The woman filed the lawsuit on January 2, claiming the popular singer sexually assaulted her during a New Year’s Eve party at E11even in Miami last year (2018).

Jane Doe’s lawsuit says Trey Songz put his hand up her dress and tried to insert his fingers into her v##### during the party.

The judge overseeing the case blasted Jane Doe for filing anonymously without the court’s permission.

“Plaintiff is admonished for never seeking leave to proceed pseudonymously,” Judge Ursula Ungaro said, adding that Jane Doe hasn’t produced an argument as to why she should be allowed to proceed anonymously.

“The Court perceives no legal basis for allowing the plaintiff to proceed using a fictitious name in this case,” Judge Ungaro ruled.

Judge Ungaro is giving Jane Doe until Friday (January 10th) to write a letter to the court explaining why the complaint should not be dismissed.

DaBaby Comments On Getting Arrested & Dealing With “Janky” Promoters

(AllHipHop News) Jonathan “DaBaby” Kirk was recently arrested on a battery charge in connection to a music promoter allegedly stiffing him on a performance payment. After being released from a Miami-Dade County jail over the weekend on a $1500 bond, the North Carolina native took to Instagram to address the ordeal.

“Please stop talking to me about that weak ass 48 hours I spent in jail and that failed attempt to break my spirits & interrupt the path I’m taking to my God-given success,” wrote DaBaby on IG.

https://www.instagram.com/p/B6_8RigJbmD

He added, “Don’t allow yourself to be [misled] by janky promoters and lazy ass grown men itching for the opportunity to file a lawsuit that they won’t win . I remain composed and focused knowing allegations made without honesty and integrity will never be honored by the Most High.”

According to reports, the promoter in question is planning to sue DaBaby and his crew for the injuries suffered during the incident in Florida. The man supposedly owed DaBaby a remaining $10,000 of an agreed-upon $30,000 fee. DaBaby is also accused of robbing him of $80, a credit card, and an iPhone.

Trina Addresses Business Partner Allegedly Stealing Money For Her Album

(AllHipHop News) Last summer, Trina found her name in blog headlines when members of her camp blasted Nicki Minaj for not filming a music video for their collaboration “BAPS.” Trina later came out to defend Nicki, but she also admitted that she was dealing with “a business situation that’s gone terribly bad.”

The public has now gotten more information about the monetary problems surrounding her independent album, The One, which came out in June 2019. On the Love & Hip Hop: Miami season three premiere, Trina spoke about what supposedly went down with her business partner over the LP.

“After four years, we finished the album, finally. Then, my business partner, Julian [Boothe], was given a $300,000 advance and he used it for his label which was supposed to be for me,” said Trina on the reality show. “Now, all of a sudden I’m getting cease and desist letters from producers that were never paid and my whole album was taken down off the internet.”

The self-described Da Baddest B*tch also accused Boothe of trying to take advantage of her while she was concerned with her mother’s declining health. Vernessa “Nessa” Taylor, 62, passed away in September. Trina added, “Physically I was there, mentally I wasn’t there. So I wasn’t double-checking everything that Julian was doing.”

Roddy Ricch Earns First Top 5 Song On The Hot 100 With “The Box”

(AllHipHop News) While many Hip Hop followers were ready to crown either DaBaby or Megan Thee Stallion as 2019’s Rookie Of The Year, Roddy Ricch worked his name into the conversation in the fourth quarter. The Compton rhymer is also starting off 2020 with undeniable commercial success.

Roddy’s “The Box” has become a breakout hit for the Atlantic recording artist. This week, the song jumped 10 spots to #3 on the Hot 100 chart, giving Ricch the first Top 5 song of his career. The record has also peaked at #1 on the Hot Rap Songs chart and Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart.

“The Box” appears on the Please Excuse Me for Being Antisocial album. In December, the project debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 chart with 101,000 first-week units. Gunna, Lil Durk, Meek Mill, Mustard, Ty Dolla Sign, and A Boogie wit da Hoodie make appearances on the LP.

Later this month, Roddy Ricch has the chance to add another major accomplishment to his résumé. Cardi B’s ‘Invasion Of Privacy’ Ties Record For Longest-Charting Female Rapper Debut Album

(AllHipHop News) Cardi B has been laying low on releasing music over the last few months. However, the Bronx rapper’s first LP is still getting significant plays on streaming services.

Invasion Of Privacy just spent its 91st week on the Billboard 200 chart at #56. That total puts Cardi’s album in a tie with Lauryn Hill’s The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill (1998) as the longest-charting debut album by a female rapper.

Since its release in April 2018, Invasion Of Privacy has been certified 3x-Platinum by the RIAA. The project hosts the #1 singles “Bodak Yellow (Money Moves)” and “I Like It.” It also won the Grammy Award for Best Rap Album.

Cardi is reportedly working on her sophomore LP at the moment. She teased a potential upcoming single by posting a very brief snippet of a song on Twitter. The record was apparently produced by Wheezy.
