(AllHipHop News) Adele, Taylor Swift, and Drake have been crowned the artists of the decade after dominating the RIAA’s album sales chart.
Officials at the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) have ranked the biggest sellers of the last 10 years, and British soul sensation Adele leads the pack in first and second place with her respective releases 21 and 25.
Taylor Swift comes in at number three with 1989, while Red lands her another mention at four, and Speak Now places sixth.
Canadian rapper Drake also scored double honors – Views takes fifth place on the RIAA countdown, and Scorpion rounds out the top 10 at 10.
The soundtrack for hit Broadway musical “Hamilton” and Doo-Wops & Hooligans by Bruno Mars are the only other two albums to crack the 2010s countdown at seven, and nine, respectively.
Specific figures for the combined sales and streaming rankings have yet to be published, but RIAA bosses had previously certified Adele’s 21 as shifting 14 million equivalent U.S. units in September 2016.
Khujo Goodie’s name will forever go down in history as one-fourth of Goodie Mob.
The Atlanta native is best known for his standout, distinct raspy voice as he lays down bars freely with his effortless flow.
Combining the reality of the streets with religious references to God, real name Willie Knighton continues to do what he’s always loved most since the beginning: create music.
Regardless of life’s obstacles, Khujo remains in good spirits.
In 2002, he was involved in a near fatal car accident that left him with an amputated lower leg — but that doesn’t stop him from working.
To this day, Khujo remains the only featured artist on every single Outkast album, which includes Big Boi’s solo album. Last month, he unleashes his new single titled “Wes H Chn,” which preceded the release of his new tape Feed The Lions Vol. 1.
AllHipHop: Soul Food was a groundbreaking album, not just for you and Goodie Mob but also Outkast and everyone on the album. What does it feel like to see this album turn 25 next year?
Khujo Goodie: It seems like a really big accomplishment to me because it seems like a lot of people focusing on that album. We did a lot of albums so it could have just been any record. For some reason on Soul Food, with it being such an innocent record and it being the 25th anniversary, it just reminds me of how innocent we were. How alone in the music industry we were at that time coming from Atlanta, Georgia, so it’s a really big accomplishment being on Goodie Mob’s Soul Food man.
AllHipHop: Any big reunion plans coming?
Khujo Goodie: Of course, of course. We’re definitely in the studio with Organized Noize now. Well we do have a Goodie Mob Day laid down for us on August 19th. We have a Goodie Mob day in East Point, Atlanta on July 24th so we got some days to play around as far as doing something for us. But we’re planning on something really big for our 29th anniversary. We got a lot of new music, we’ll make a new song off the album. Maybe some BTS, behind the scenes type stuff. It’s going to be a real special occasion for us.
AllHipHop: What about new music from Goodie?
Khujo Goodie: Of course, of course. We just dropped new music with Organized Noize called “No Rain No Rainbow.” That single’s on all platforms right now and it’s featuring Goodie Mob, Sleepy Brown, and Organized Noize. Then of course, Cee-Lo just did a song with Big Boi and Sleepy called “Intentions.” A brand new single that’s out, creeping up the charts right now. Most definitely be on the lookout for new music from Goodie Mob Productions, which is us as individuals also.
AllHipHop: Being a godfather in the Atlanta hip-hop scene, can you explain the difference between Atlanta in the 80’s, 90’s, 2000’s, and 2010’s for each decade?
Khujo Goodie: Wow. [laughs] The best way I could explain the difference between those years has got to be the music. In the 80’s, Atlanta didn’t really have a hip-hop scene down here per se. We were still riding off the coattails of bass music from Miami. We were still riding off the gangster music from the West Coast, until we got our own identity with LaFace Records. Even though it was some hard ass MCs coming out of Atlanta, Georgia at that time. You got Ghetto Mafia, you got the Hard Boys that was coming out. There was definitely a lot of MCs doing their thing on the independent level but once Outkast came with the Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik and Goodie Mob was featured on those two songs in the 90’s — I mean that was like ‘93. But we had been underground recording music since we got out of high school in ‘86, you know what I mean? So I could just make that difference as far through music. Right now the 21st century, you got hip-hop living in the South right now. It’s being nourished, reinvented, and doing its thing in the South. That’s probably the difference between those years, and then the advancement as far as how music is being distributed.
AllHipHop: What did you do in the aftermath of Goodie Mob’s break up?
Khujo Goodie: Well, it wasn’t really a break up man. It was just that we kind of stopped doing music together because the record label decided they wanted to do things different than the way we wanted to do. We were actually forced to really hone in our powers and skills to keep putting music out. So in maybe ‘99 or 2000, that’s when I had dropped my first solo record. Because the Goodie Mob album, the World Party album, we dropped that in ‘99. Just being able to have experience in going out on the road with the Goodie Mob and writing music with the Goodie Mob, I had confidence and experience in writing my own solo album. My first solo album was The Man Not the Dawg. Not only just me, each individual was honing their skills and putting forth the effort to make our catalogue bigger.
AllHipHop: Was it hard to make money?
Khujo Goodie: Well no. It wasn’t hard to make money. We didn’t go out on the road during those times together, but we still put in the work. The three or four albums that we put out, we still got paid every three months. It was just a grind hustle. Our little brothers Outkast were still putting out music and they were wanting us to do features on their records, and people were also asking us to do features on other songs. We were still blessed and we would still eat because of the music that we were putting out in the beginning. It wasn’t offensive and it wasn’t derogatory. We weren’t disrespecting people like that so people still respect us to this day.
AllHipHop: Was everyone mad at Cee-Lo for leaving to go after his own solo career?
Khujo Goodie: Well, we weren’t because we had discussed that before time. Because if you go back in history on Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik, you’ll hear Andre saying “Big Gipp, Goodie Mob, Cee-Lo, Outkast,” so right there he’s already making the difference between the energies at that time. But since we did so well on Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik, Organized Noize and LaFace was like “okay well, let’s go ahead and put them together and let’s put out Soul Food.”
I guess at the time — no time is perfect for when you’re getting ready to go your own way and do your own solo stuff. We were friends and kinfolk at the beginning so just like family s### man, you get mad and ya’ll talk it over. Gotta get back in there and ya’ll do ya’ll damn thing. Like I said, we just did a song together called “No Rain No Rainbow” and we just got off tour. We just did the Dungeon Family tour (Big Boi) and we just got off tour with Erykah Badu.
AllHipHop: Did you work with Kanye in the studio when you guys made the song “Rebuilding?”
Khujo Goodie: You know what, I didn’t even know Kanye West had did that song until later on. Actually, we were in the studio with D-Dot, the Madd Rapper. You remember him? Back in the day with Diddy? We had no idea that he did that record man. We were in New York at the time in the studio, we were going through some tracks and that track right there just had a vibe to it. A different vibe. But I seen Kanye West, I don’t think he knew who I was. I mean, it was a while back. But I said “damn man that song you did for us, ‘Rebuilding,’ I had no idea you did that. It’s a great song.” So he showed me some love, he rocking with the movement.
AllHipHop: What do you think of Kanye’s new Christianity?
Khujo Goodie: Well I think it’s a brilliant idea what he’s doing, because I know exactly what he’s doing. It’s money in Gospel music too. I hadn’t heard his whole album to really give an opinion on it but I have heard some of the tracks. I like some of the production of what I heard.
AllHipHop: I’ve heard you refer to the Bible as a “history book” and nothing else.
Khujo Goodie: Yeah, it is. The Bible is a history book of the children of Israel and the people that fit the description of the children of Israel, or the people that came to America on slave ships. That’s what I got out of reading that history book.
AllHipHop: Is It true you believe you were the first person to use the term “trap” in hip-hop?
Khujo Goodie: I wouldn’t say I was the first to use that term because it was people that came before me doing the same thing that could be the meaning of what the word trap is. Trap was given to me from the streets number one, I can’t reverse it. It wasn’t something that I came up with personally in the lab saying t-r-a-p, okay trap. No, that’s a term that I got from the streets at the time before Goodie Mob came out. Before we were able to record music, so I have to give that credit it to the streets man. I was just able to put it in my rhymes. At that time, nobody else was using that word.
So nah, I ain’t going to take credit for it but I know a lot of people want to say that. But Andre said it in his raps on Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik. He said “I set up traps so shut up that, nonsense about some solid 9’s, I got it crunk. If it aint real, ain’t right,” on “Players Ball.”
Now he said the word trap on “Players Ball” in that one particular line. That came out before Soul Food so if we want to be technical about that, he said the word first — on wax. But it’s all good. At the end of the day, it’s all about Goodie Mob putting out ours. In hip-hop, as being one of the greats.
AllHipHop: You are the only rapper to have appeared on every Outkast album. Can you explain your relationship with the guys and how it has remained so tight over the years?
Khujo Goodie: You know, I don’t know what it’s supposed to be. I just remember the first song I did after I came back when I had my leg amputated below the knee, it was called “Reset.” That was the song with me, Cee-Lo and Big Boi. One of the first songs I recorded once I got out the hospital. We were just recording at the end of the day. It was planned songs that were being recorded at that time not only by me, but other members of the Dungeon Family. I guess at the time, it was right to use that song. I’m just honored and thankful for that because a lot of people ask me about that. I’m like wow, what if I hadn’t been on those songs like that? Would I still get the same reaction? So it ain’t nothing but love that my little brothers would even choose me to come up and be featured on the songs. That ain’t nothing but love.
AllHipHop: Any updates on the new Outkast project?
Khujo Goodie: Outkast? No updates. Them boys stay in the studio. I know Big Boi’s working on The Big Sleepover with Sleepy Brown. Right now we’re working on the new Goodie Mob album. Each one of us individually is sharpening up what we got in the stash to get ready for 2020 at the end of the day. Hopefully, we’ll be on another tour with the Dungeon Family.
AllHipHop: Anything else you want to let us know?
Khujo Goodie: I want to tell the people to check out my new single called “WES H CHN,” produced by legendary Ku Dolla from Decatur, Georgia. I just dropped a new compilation album called Feed the Lions. It’s a compilation comprised of independent artists that come up to me and say “Khujo man, can you please present my music man? Can you please put my music out?” Actually, I have two songs on there, along with some great artists on there. Definitely worth checking out.
(AllHipHop News) Rapper/actor Common’s reluctance to have more children led to his split from political analyst Angela Rye.
The Selma star, real name Lonnie Rashid Lynn, had dated Rye on and off from the summer of 2017, but they parted ways for good in September and now the CNN personality has opened up about the reasons behind their break-up.
Rye admitted her desire to start a family together was a key sticking point for the pair.
“We just want different things…,” she explained to fans in a candid chat on her On One With Angela Rya podcast, revealing she and Common had a heart-to-heart about their future after she revealed plans to spend more time with her nine-year-old godson, Ryan.
“I had told him about it the day before. We had been talking for about two months about, ‘Let’s see where things go’ because I’m leaning towards, ‘I want kids’ and he was leaning towards, ‘I don’t know.’ I think when somebody tells you, ‘I don’t know,’ they just tell you that because they don’t really want to hurt you.
“I remember us having this conversation the day after we talked about Ryan, he said, ‘I don’t know if I want to have kids.’ So I said, ‘I don’t know what else there is to talk about.’”
Despite their split, Rye, 40, insists they will “always be friends”.
“I think it was an impeccable parting of ways,” she shared. “We’re very clear about the fact that we were not aligned in those interests. We will always be friends. He’s a really good person.
“I wish Rashid the very best, but it was time for us to do something different.
Common, 47, is already a dad to 22-year-old daughter Omoye Assata Lynn.

(AllHipHop News) Kim Kardashian has hit back at reports she bought the shirt John F. Kennedy was wearing when he was assassinated as a Christmas present for her daughter North.
The 39-year-old reality star found herself the subject of a fake Instagram story claiming she had purchased the former U.S. President’s bloody top as a gift for six-year-old North, with website Refinery29 falling victim to the hoax.
WOW this is obviously fake! @Refinery29 I did not get JFK’s shirt. That is a sick joke that someone tweeted as a fake ig story that I never posted. https://t.co/fajEtOrlqU
Sharing an article about the alleged gift, Refinery29 wrote: “The visual of the shirt posted on her stories is jarring – and raises questions about why anyone would give a child something so violent.
“But regardless of the motivation behind the gifts, one thing is certain: Kardashian West is building one hell of a fashion archive for her daughter.”
After reading the piece, Kim took to her Twitter page to slam the site for falling for the hoax, writing: “WOW this is obviously fake! @Refinery29 I did not get JFK’s shirt. That is a sick joke that someone tweeted as a fake ig story that I never posted.”
The claims about the shirt gift came after Kim and husband Kanye West sparked controversy by buying North one of late Michael Jackson’s jackets and his Smooth Criminal hat for Christmas.
(AllHipHop News) The SEC recently uncovered a scam that could easily be featured on an episode of “American Greed.”
Investigators claim two promoters raised over $30 million dollars through a Ponzi scheme using big-name hip-hop acts like Kanye West, Jay-Z, and Pitbull without their knowledge.
The SEC contends that from 2015 through 2017 two individuals named Andres Fernandez and Edison Denizard raised millions from over 60 investors in an unregistered fraudulent securities offering.
The pair allegedly ran their scam through two companies, Kadaae Entertainment and AOTG.
Eager investors signed agreements with Kadaae or AOTG, which stated they would be financing business ventures related to “music entertainment events.”
Most of the agreements were for two-to-three-month terms, after which investors would earn their principal back plus a purported return on investment ranging from 20% to 60%.
Andres Fernandez and Edison Denizard even gave certain investors VIP access to various concerts to give their victims a false sense of security.
Unfortunately for investors, the whole thing was a big Ponzi scheme.
In addition to Kanye West and Pitbull, Fernandez and Denizard allegedly fabricated their connections to Enrique Iglesias, Ricky Martin, and even Ice-T and Mickey Bentson’s Art Of Rap Tour.
“Although the [companies] promoted a handful of concert events for a few lesser-known artists at small Orlando-area venues, they did not produce concerts for any of the major recording artists identified to investors and they had no involvement in the Art of Rap Tour,” said the SEC’s lead lawyer, Andrew Schiff.
The SEC claims the VIP treatment showered on the investors was all smoke and mirrors – the duo just bought tickets from Ticketmaster and StubHub.
To make matters worse, Fernandez and Denizard allegedly blew at least $2,000,000 on themselves in addition to paying investors back with their own money.
The SEC charged Andres Fernandez with being the leader of the scam and hit him with seven charges: four counts of violating the Securities Act and three counts of violating the Exchange Act.
Fernandez recently pleaded guilty and he faces up to 20 years in prison when he is sentenced in January of 2020.

(AllHipHop News) Kanye West and EMI Publishing are going to take another crack at settling a longstanding contract dispute in which the rap star says he’s being enslaved.
Kanye and EMI have been feuding since January of 2019 over control of his lucrative publishing catalog, which he hoped to purchase back for $8-9 million.
Both parties announced plans to settle the agreement in September, but as of last week, they missed a court-imposed deadline to officially settle the matter.
But in another twist, EMI’s lawyers rushed into court over the holiday to request more time to settle the case with Yeezy.
“The parties respectfully request this brief extension of time based on the intervening holiday and the resulting limited availability of important party representatives who are knowledgeable regarding the status of [the] settlement and related issues,” explained EMI’s lawyer Robert A. Jacobs.
Judge Valeria Caproni permitted both parties to have a one-week extension to hammer out an agreement.
Kanye’s team is planning to negotiate with EMI’s lawyers from January 6, 2020, to January 13, 2020.
(AllHipHop News) The Lifetime network is set to delve into notable celebrity relationships in the new docuseries Hopelessly In Love. Two prominent Hip Hop romances from the 1990s will be among the subjects explored in individual two-hour programs.
A description of Hopelessly In Love reads, in part:
Featuring deeply emotional new interviews, and never-before-seen footage, each installment will be an impassioned journey through the intense ups and downs of a whirlwind romance that was lived in the limelight. Untold secrets will be revealed on how these star-crossed lovers ended up facing the ultimate tragedy. Docs will cover the tragic romances of Anna Nicole Smith and Larry Birkhead, Notorious B.I.G. and Faith Evans, Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes and Andre Rison and others.
Brooklyn rapper Christopher “The Notorious B.I.G.” Wallace and R&B singer Faith Evans got married in 1994. The so-called “First Couple of Bad Boy Records” had a tumultuous marriage that included Biggie’s affair with Lil Kim and 2Pac’s infamous accusations that he had sex with Faith. Wallace was murdered in Los Angeles in 1997 at the age of 24.
Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes’ on-again, off-again relationship with Andre Rison was marred by allegations of infidelity, substance abuse, and physical abuse. The TLC member and the NFL wide receiver became tabloid news fodder in 1994 after Left Eye’s arson arrest for burning down their Atlanta mansion. Lopes, 30, died in a 2002 car accident in Honduras.
Lifetime’s Hopelessly in Love is scheduled to premiere January 4, 2020, at 9:30 pm ET.
(AllHipHop News) Jonathan “Blueface” Porter pleaded no contest on December 27 to one misdemeanor count of carrying a loaded firearm, according to reports. The criminal charge was connected to a shooting in Santa Clarita, California.
A vehicle-to-vehicle gunfight took place in November 2018 after a dispute apparently broke out between two groups of people at a gas station. Investigators believe a robbery also occurred before shots rang out.
Blueface was detained for assault with a deadly weapon and later released on a $50,000 bond. Following his no-contest plea in Los Angeles County, the 22-year-old rapper was sentenced to 36 months summary probation and eight days of community service. He was also ordered to pay restitution, fines, and fees.
In February of this year, Blueface was arrested in Los Angeles for felony gun possession. The “Thotiana” hitmaker was released on $35,000 bail. That case was eventually thrown out due to insufficient evidence. In October, Blueface’s manager, Wack 100, posted about the dismissal on Instagram.
(AllHipHop News) Drake covered a lot of topics during his over 2-hour interview that dropped on Christmas Day. At one point, the OVO superstar discussed his longstanding conflict with Kanye West and the G.O.O.D. Music founder’s turn to making Christian-based music.
“God bless him on his new journey. I don’t know if he’s ever gonna make secular music again… If he turns up on me again, I’ll turn up on him again. I’m always down. It just is what it is. It’s not something I’m really looking forward to or think about too much, but I’m not gonna sit by while somebody’s talking loose about me,” said Drake.
West may have responded to his rival’s latest comments. During a recent public appearance, the Jesus Is King album creator spoke about being referred to as non-religious. He also addressed some of the headline-grabbing moments in his life over the last several weeks.
“I take offense when somebody calls me secular,” declared Ye. “Y’all can look at the domes that we was building, affordable homes – y’all call that bizarre. Y’all can take the picture of me painted in silver, y’all can call that what y’all want.”
The Sunday Service conductor continued, “But don’t call me secular, ’cause secular is trying to say that I’ll do anything for anyone other than Christ. That’s where they got it messed up. That’s where they got it twisted.”
The latest round of the Drake versus Kanye West feud is an extension of the beef between Drake and Kanye’s G.O.O.D. partner Pusha T. Last year, Pusha reignited the bad blood with the West-produced “Infrared.” Drake fired back with “Duppy Freestyle,” and Push then released “The Story of Adidon.” Drake eventually acknowledged that Pusha T’s scathing diss track gave his opponent the win in their war of words.

Mariah Carey scored her first chart-topper with 1990’s “Vision of Love.” Prior to “All I Want for Christmas Is You” hitting the pinnacle earlier this month, 2008’s “Touch My Body” was the 5-time Grammy winner’s last #1.
(AllHipHop News) An interview with music executive Don Pooh on The Breakfast Club has rubbed Foxy Brown the wrong way. The Brooklyn-raised rapper took issue with a question DJ Envy asked her former manager.

(AllHipHop Rumors) 50 Cent and French Montana go way back! Remember when 50 “found” where DJ Khaled’s mom worked and they recorded her sleeping on the job? Well, it was reportedly the one and only French Montana that provided that video footage to 50 Cent. Well, many years later, the dudes have gone off and turned into enemies! I am not sure where this came from, but French Montana posted himself leaving the hospital in a “new” car. French said “new Buggatti,” but it seems like 50 Cent saw it differently than the rest of us. He went straight at French, saying that the”new” Buggati was actually about 10 years old.
Why in the world would Fif say these hurtful things?
“50centVerifiedI’m in the hospital so sick of n!ggas, that’s a 2008 Veyron man, you shoulda just got the Uber app on ya phone ♂️it’s 2020 Chiron Man hahaha Put that b####### back on that truck. #lecheminduroi#bransoncognac#starzgettheapp#abcforlifeee“
He hurt my feelings with these damning words! I know 50 Cent felt a way! On top of that, he went back and forth on Twitter and IG!
One thing is for sure, I don’t want to get into any beef with 50 Cent. I drive a car that costs less than a ring on his finger. And that’s my word. So, Fif…leave me alone, because I ain’t got it.
(AllHipHop News) Veteran rapper Mad Skillz ended the decade by delivering an epic installment of his annual “Rap Up” series.
This year’s “Rap Up 2019” sees Skillz condensing the highs and the lows of 2019 into a 4:58 second track.
On his 17th annual “Rap Up,” Skillz calls out The Patriots, R. Kelly, Gucci and even Jussie Smollet for calling himself the “gay Tupac.”
Skillz also refers to Future’s girlfriend Lori Harvey as “loose” and makes fun of Cardi B. over her admission that she drugged and robbed men when she was a stripper.
He also addresses Kanye West, Tekashi 6ix9ine, 50 Cent stalking people over their debts, and much more.
