Jussie Smollett Sues City Of Chicago For “Malicious Prosecution”

(AllHipHop News) With only forty days left in the year, it seemed the country would move into 2020 without any more news about Jussie Smollett. However, the former Empire star is back in the headlines this week.

According to reports, Smollett filed a counterclaim on Tuesday aimed at the city of Chicago after local officials sued the actor in April. Both lawsuits stem from the controversial assault investigation which eventually led to prosecutors announcing, then dropping, 16 felony charges against Smollett for allegedly lying about a hate crime.

Chicago is said to be seeking $130,106 from Smollett for costs of police overtime hours and a civil penalty of $1,000 for each of his alleged lies. The 37-year-old entertainment veteran is accusing the city and multiple police officers of malicious prosecution.

“Having agreed to accept $10,000 from Mr. Smollett as payment in full connection with the dismissal of the charges against him the City cannot seek additional recovery from Mr. Smollett under the doctrine of accord and satisfaction,” reads Smollett’s complaint.

Additionally, he also accused the Chicago PD of causing “humiliation, mental anguish, and extreme emotional distress” for supposedly disseminating “false and misleading information” about the case. Smollett still insists he was telling the truth about being attacked in January by two men in ski masks who called him racial and homophobic slurs.

Tyler, The Creator Talks Liking Women & Having Sex With Men

(AllHipHop News) Tyler, The Creator tried to come off as apathetic to getting a Best Rap Album Grammy nomination for Igor. On Wednesday afternoon, the Odd Future founding member just tweeted, “uhhhhh, i guess.”

Fans of Tyler know he likes to troll about nearly anything, including awards shows and his sexuality. Igor garnered a lot of attention for centering around the protagonist being involved in a love triangle with a man and a woman which added to the speculation that Tyler is either gay or bisexual.

He further fed into the rumors again during a feature story for GQ. The article quotes Tyler saying, “I like girls – I just end up f*cking their brother every time.” Like with many of his comments, it’s not clear if the 28-year-old musician was joking or if there was a hint of truth to the statement.

Early in his career, Tyler was accused of promoting homophobic themes. His frequent use of “f*ggot” in his lyrics and on Twitter was met with backlash, but he insisted he was not prejudiced against the LGBT+ community.

Kash Doll Explains Unfollowing Nicki Minaj For “Talking Crazy”

(AllHipHop News) Nicki Minaj’s stanbase had their digital knives out for Kash Doll this week. The Barbz were upset that Kash unfollowed their favorite rapper on social media and was seen partying with Nicki’s rival Cardi B in New York City.

“It was so good to kick it wit Cardi last night…. she cool af! A whole bunch of misunderstandings but grown women can kick it and let that sh*t go! I f*ck wit her ❤️,” tweeted Kash on Wednesday.

Barbz then invaded Kash Doll’s mentions on Twitter. Some of them threatened to stop listening to her music, and others called her phony. The Detroit native had to go to Instagram Live to explain why she no longer follows Minaj.

“I unfollowed Nicki two weeks ago because when y’all was dragging me for whatever the f*ck y’all was dragging me for and I told y’all to leave my name out y’all mouth, she came in my DMs talking crazy. I unfollowed her ass and told her she was delusional, just like y’all motherf*ckers,” said the Stacked album creator.

She also added, “I don’t want beef with nobody. That’s why me and Cardi came together, to show that this is unity. Stop trying to put me up against [like] I’m trying to beef. And I’m still going to like Nicki Minaj, but she just came at me sideways, so I motherf*cking unfollowed her. I’m human. The f*ck?”

50 Cent Taunts Young Buck Again With Transgender Jokes

(AllHipHop News) Earlier this year, former G-Unit comrades 50 Cent and Young Buck were engaged in a feud on the internet. Part of 50’s Instagram attack involved claiming that Buck was attracted to transgender women.

Fiddy is back at it again. Yesterday, the Power executive producer took another shot at his ex-protégé on IG. 50 Cent posted a meme of two people embracing each other with the header “He Doesn’t Know Yet.” 50’s separate caption suggested the picture was of a man with a trans woman. It read, “ buck type sh*t, nah he know. LOL #lecheminduroi #bransoncogna.”

In May, DJ Mister Cee, an NYC radio personality who was arrested several times for soliciting trans prostitution, offered advice to Young Buck about dating transgender women. He stated, “What I want to tell you, Young Buck, is whether your situation is true or not, that’s not what I’m here for. I’m here to kind of give you a little bit of guidance to what I think you need to do.”

50 Cent reacted to Mister Cee’s message. The 44-year-old entertainer posted on Instagram, ” yo the funny sh*t is @djmistercee help me, after I got hit he booked the first show we did at club speed. I got nothing bad to say.”

ASAP Rocky Is Designing Prison Uniforms For Sweden!

(AllHipHop Rumors) I know this is not new news, but I noticed it wasn’t being covered by the site. Who knows why, but I feel it is very worth it! I found it odd that ASAP Rocky even decided to go back to Sweden when it was already a huge deal that he was able to get out of jail scott-free. But then to get a job too? Even crazier!

He’s been hired (I assume) to re-design the prison uniforms so the inmates can look cute or something? I honestly am not sure. Since this story is actually a couple of days old, let me look.

It is very simple. ASAP volunteered his skills as a fashionisto to getting the jailbirds of Sweden fresh again! Aftonbladet is the site that broke from a recent interview with the Harlem legend. “When I was going through my whole situation, the whole time I used to look on television and see Swedish fans showing me so much love and I want to give it back,” he said. He also said that he wanted to give clothing to inmates, but it has not happened yet.

Reminds me of Sheriff Joe Arpaio’s punk a###.

P#nk!

The Latest Rumors On Tekashi 69

(AllHipHop Rumors) I am sick of these rumors around Tekashi 69. But this is the job! So, let us continue on with the rumors surrounding Tekashi. The latest rumor is that the boy is going to be out before Christmas! They may just let him loose so he can get his daughter some toys! But, I wouldn’t mind if he was out and about, because I want to see how the story ends. Not to say that it will end…so lets say “the next chapter.”

But the word is they are going to get him home within 30 days! Can you believe that? This is what snitching gets you vs football numbers in jail. I think they have successfully broken down the greatness of crime! I don’t do crime, but if you do, you should certainly be “bout that life” enough that you just do the time when you get caught.

Tekkie’s girl, Jade has allegedly reported that her man will. be home next month – December!

The other rumor is that Tekkie will have an armada of security and guess who will provide it? The same dudes that keep Floyd Mayweather safe and sounds are the same dudes that will reportedly protect Tekashi 69 from the clutches of bangers that want revenge. I am not sure if that is going to be enough, but it is definitely going to cost him a TON of money!

And while this sounds like some breaking news, it ain’t. Last year, when he was free, 69 was using the boxer’s old guys. I guess only the best will suit the best!

The Grammy Award-winning star went on to share some words of advice for the tot based on her own life experiences, adding: “Don’t listen to what people say and to dream big and follow it.”

Meanwhile, Cardi also revealed what being a mom has taught her so far, explaining: “The biggest lesson is that you’re never ready on time… things don’t go as you plan, never.”

DAMIAN Explain How “Positive Energy” Sparked His Career

DAMIAN isn’t just big on positive energy, he is positive energy. Since he was little, the Mission Viejo native has always loved creative arts.

Furthermore, he’s always wanted to take his art and use it to inspire other people — of course, while exuding that positive energy.

His lyrics stem from real-life experiences, showing audiences they are not alone in this thing called life.

Now signed to Treacherous Records, the West Coast recording artist unleashed his debut single “Closer,” with a fire visual to match.

AllHipHop: How far is Mission Viejo from LA?

DAMIAN: It’s only an hour and 40 minutes. Bad traffic, 2.5 hours. I was driving 2.5 hours every day to get to the studio when I first partnered with Treacherous Records.

After a while, Tico and Mickey told me “we want to partner and move forward on your music.” I just bailed on Mission Viejo, left my childhood home and came up here.

What’s crazy is I had a girlfriend at the time, she was going to school and living with me. I let her live rent-free for a long time.

She graduated and got her degree in Advertising, now she has a wonderful job out here for an advertising firm in downtown Los Angeles. She said “I’ma do the same for you now. Let’s move up here, quit your job. Let’s get a place. Now you’re in school.” Now I spend my time doing this.

AllHipHop: Talk about your mantra: “build, create, inspire.” Why is it important for you to promote positivity?

DAMIAN: For me, I’ve been in that dark place before. Before I got my head on straight and fell into the belief of God and positive energy, I was in a real dark place. Getting to where I’m at now and being able to help my siblings, my friends, my peers with the things they’re going through based off the events I’ve experienced, it just showed me everything happens for a reason.

If you look at it the right way, things that might feel like the worst thing in the world can actually be the biggest blessing. You don’t know if you’re going to save the life of someone else you cared for later on down the road, because of that experience. My grandfather was a big advocate for the Philippines. His thing out there was to build communities, create and inspire other young Phillipinos to do great things with their lives. I took the same thing and wanted to do it to a bigger scale. I want to show the world: positive energy is key. There’s a lot of bad and good in all of us but if you learn how to focus more on the good, you know how to focus more on feeling and spreading that energy. You get caught in this rotation that truly feels like heaven on earth almost.

AllHipHop: What or who inspired “Closer”?

DAMIAN: “Closer” was inspired through some events that happened in my life, in my love life really. Before we moved up to LA (in my relationship that I’m currently in), I kept trying to push away my girlfriend. Because I knew it was real, I knew I’d do anything I needed to be successful in music. I just felt being in a relationship wasn’t realistic at the time. It affected my music because I wanted to be with her. I tried to leave her, I couldn’t leave her. Every time I tried, it was almost a bluff like I was faking. Eventually, I looked at it and went “damn, what do I do? I love this chick, but I love my music.”

I ultimately felt I had to choose one or the other, but then I had an epiphany. What if I just try to bring her closer and just do it together? That’s the crazy part about her schooling, she was a child development major. When we sat down and had this talk, she made the decision to switch to advertising so she could become closer to my music. That’s what inspired that song. When I wrote it, I’m like wow. Sometimes, you’re self-sabotaging what you have and what you need to do. Just be a little bit more open-minded and bring that individual closer.

AllHipHop: Who’s in your Top 5?

DAMIAN: Kendrick Lamar. Anderson .Paak for sure. Miguel, I’ve been listening to a lot of him. His songs really just get me on a vibe. Frank Ocean, 100%. Moving into another genre, Jason Mraz. He’s hasn’t been around for a little bit, but I listened to him a s##t ton growing up and still do now. Just vibes. He definitely accomplished what I’m trying to accomplish, I feel good listening to his music. Sometimes his songs feel therapeutic to me, so it’s tight.

AllHipHop: Anything else you want to let us know?

DAMIAN: I’m excited, we’ve been working really hard. “Closer” is my first single, the video just dropped today. So far, the response is amazing. I’m grateful for everybody who’s been part of the process, grateful for everybody who’s supporting me. Grateful to be sitting here and meeting you today, having this interview. I hope everyone hops on with me. Build, create, inspire!

Damon Dash Surrenders To Cops Over Child Support Warrants

(AllHipHop News) Former Roc-A-Fella Records boss Damon Dash was briefly locked up after police finally arrested him over a massive back child support bill.

According to reports, the 49-year-old turned himself in today (November 20th) after he was accused of “fleeing” the state of New York over arrest warrants for owing over $400,000 in unpaid support.

Damon is accused of owing the small fortune to the mothers of his children, Cindy Morales and Rachel Roy.

Over the past few weeks, Damon has been fighting to modify his child support obligations with Roy, claiming he made a paltry $56,000, compared to Roy’s $500,000 in earnings for the same period.

Right now, Dame is required to pay $6,000 a month in child support for 19-year-old Ava and 11-year-old Tallulah.

In March, Damon declared himself innocent and he vowed going to jail would be no issue for him.

“I’ll sit in jail for three or four days or whatever they want to accuse me of doing. I’m an innocent man, so there’s no reason for me not to go turn myself in,” Damon Dash snapped although he remained on the lam. “I’m sick of my name being compromised and I want my company back.”

Just last week, Damon blasted reports he was growing broke after it was revealed he was struggling to pay back a $2,400 debt in a separate legal battle.

Damon isn’t broke, because director Lee Daniels is paying him over $1.7 million to squash a dispute related to a Richard Pryor biopic.

Lee Daniels claimed both women were trying to get their cuts first, but Damon told a judge not to give them a penny until he squares away his disputes with Cindy Morales and Rachel Roy.

Dame is already out of jail and he says he is “warrant” free after paying off both bills.

EXCLUSIVE: Rap Group Says Labels Stole All The Money From Their Classic Song

(AllHipHop News) Members of veteran Hip-Hop group Poor Righteous Teachers claim they are due a boatload of money – from Sony Entertainment.

The Trenton-New Jersey-based group signed with Profile Records in 1989.

Shortly after inking their deal, Poor Righteous Teachers dropped one of hip-hop’s most enduring singles, “Rock Dis Funky Joint.”

Profile was eventually sold to Arista in 1997, thanks to hit records supplied by groups like PRT, Run-DMC, DJ Quik, Rob Base, and DJ EZ Rock and others.

But the rap group claims Profile, Arista and Sony have never paid them a penny for any of the four albums they recorded.

“Their conduct has been unjustified, continuing to cause plaintiff financial hardship, extreme anxiety and discomfort,” a lawyer for the group said.

Lawyers for Poor Righteous Teachers went after Sony for their money in 2009, but they claimed they were stonewalled.

Unfortunately, group members Tony D died in 2009, while Father Shaheed passed away in 2014, leaving main rappers Wise Intelligent and Culture Freedom left to fight for PRT’s royalties.

But the group maintains death is exactly what Sony wanted.

PRT claims Sony executives deliberately stonewall black artists by “delaying the resolution of disputes over intellectual property rights with artists of color who lack financial resources to create leveraged advantages, such as the ultimate death of such artists by attrition over time.”

To make matters worse, Sony continues to exploit PRT’s classic songs, including “Rock Dis Funky Joint,” on YouTube, Spotify, and other popular streaming platforms.

Sony is also making some money by the PRT classic, which was recently featured in Hulu’s “Wu-Tang Clan: An American Saga.”

Members of Poor Righteous Teachers are going after millions from Sony in damages for conversion, theft, copyright infringement, unjust enrichment, and negligence.

Machine Gun Kelly Pays Touching Tribute To Late Rapper Lil Peep

(AllHipHop News) Machine Gun Kelly marked the two-year anniversary of Lil Peep’s death with an emotional performance of his track, “Walk Away As The Door Slams.”

The hip-hop star, real name Gustav Ahr, died of an accidental overdose at the age of 21 in November 2017.

Last Friday, Peep’s estate commemorated the late artist by dropping the “Everybody’s Everything” documentary and album, which contained an acoustic version of the 2016 tune.

And sharing a clip on Instagram MGK, real name Colson Baker honored the star with his own cover of the song.

https://www.instagram.com/p/B4_JlV2Jx5_

“I just wanted to help now im goin to hell walk away as the door slams… @lilpeep thnx for taking this video @rookxx (sic),” the star captioned the video of him playing a black guitar and singing along to Peep’s vocals on what looks to be the back of his tour bus.

The rapper went on to empathize with Peep’s addiction issues and said he wished he could have talked to him prior to his passing.

“Look, wish Lil Peep and me had spoke, but I can’t get that back,” he sang in regret.

Pras Denies Denies He’s Hiding Money To Avoid Child Support

(AllHipHop News) Rapper Pras is fighting allegations from his ex-wife suggesting he’s been hiding his money in a bid to win a reduction in his child support payments.

The former Fugees star, real name Prakazrel Michel, is currently having to hand over $4,800 a month to Angela Severiano to help care for their son Landon.

Earlier this year, he claimed he was struggling to meet his obligations after having his money seized by U.S. federal authorities amid accusations of campaign-finance violations.

Severiano’s lawyer, Robert Wallack, believes Pras isn’t telling the whole truth after discovering a secret bank account listed under the name of one of his companies.

The account had been used to make and receive various payments totaling around $1 million in the six months up to September.

Speaking in New York’s Manhattan Family Court on Tuesday, Wallack told the judge, “We found that Pras uses a complex web of shell companies to mask his true financial resources. What we uncovered was not only astonishing, but it proved that everything Pras has told this Court was a lie.”

Wallack is seeking to have Pras pay $60,000 to cover his ex’s attorney’s fees, and also settle his outstanding child support debt and related costs, which are close to $125,000.

A representative for Pras, who was not present for Tuesday’s hearing due to a death in the family, insists the rapper is happy to grant Severiano’s requests.

But he is “not authorized to pay child support from his business” and can therefore only send her a check once his personal funds are released by government agents.

Spokesman Darrell Johnson explained to the New York Post’s Page Six, “We would commit to catching up on payments once the money is released. He has no problem with attorney’s fees.”

“He loves his child and he has no problem with Angela right now,” Johnson adds. “(But) he doesn’t have the money.”

The judge overseeing the dispute is expected to rule on the matter of child support by the end of the year.

Pras’ federal case is linked to his reported dealings with fugitive Malaysian financier Jho Low, with whom he is accused of conspiring to make and conceal foreign campaign contributions to boost former U.S. President Barack Obama’s 2012 re-election campaign.

According to Johnson, Pras has denied the allegations.
