(AllHipHop News) Rapper Silento, who crafted the 2015 hit song “Watch Me (Whip Nae Nae)” has been arrested for assault with a deadly weapon and inflicting corporal injury on a spouse or cohabitant.

The original report came from ABC-7 in Los Angeles, where the rapper was reportedly taken into custody on Saturday, August 30. The rapper, 22, was apprehended after hunting for his girlfriend in the Valley Village section of LA while wielding a hatchet. The rapper wandered into the private residence of a family, who were home at the time of the invasion.

They were not harmed but he did try to hit them. The family was extremely frightened and managed to wrestle the weapon from the rapper. The artist, real name Richard Lamar Hawk, remained in custody at the time of this writing. He is scheduled to appear on in court on Friday, September 4. He was arrested by Santa Anna California police the day before, on Friday, August 29.

In 2015, “Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae)” spawned a dance crazy, in addition to being a massive hit. He subsequently released his debut album, Fresh Outta High School.

Kanye West Booted From Presidential Race In Arizona

(AllHipHop News) Who is advising Kanye West on this presidential bid?

The way things are going, perhaps it is the same people who suggested he claim the “Birthday Party” as his political affiliation.

While that might draw a chuckle, a serious matter that is causing serious problems for his campaign does surround his actual political affiliation, the Republican party.

According to CNN, two additional states are fighting to keep the “Jesus Walks” rapper off the ballot this upcoming November.

State judges are ordering Virginia and Arizona to not allow him to appear as a candidate court because he is not an actual Independent.

In Arizona, Judge Scott McCoy supported a filing made on Monday arguing that under the state’s legislation, Ye should not be on the ballot.

That is because Ye and 10 of the 11 electors that have pledged to support him are registered as Republicans.

The group can only get on the ballot if the signatures that he gathered were from people who were “not a registered member of a recognized political party.”

There can only be one Republican and that is President Donald Trump.

The same thing happened to Kanye in Virginia today too. A judge ruled the 11 of his 13 “Elector Oaths” were invalid because they were obtained by fraudulent means.

International Recording Artist Drei Ros Reveals Roots In Hip-Hop

Drei Ros has released his most powerful song to date: “Excuse My Accent.”

The Eastern Romanian recording artist boasts a following of 514K followers on Instagram, but that doesn’t begin to touch his international reach. When it comes to his records, he does his part in including artists from all over the world, emphasizing the importance in inclusion of different cultures.

Having gone through his own struggles being an immigrant in the States, Drei uses music as an outlet to not only spread awareness, but also healing power to all those who can relate. When it comes to America alone, the minorities are oftentimes looked over — and Drei makes it a point to remind them of their importance.

AllHipHop caught up with Drei to discuss when he came to Los Angeles, his roots in hip-hop, creating “Excuse My Accent,” and his process in selecting features.

AllHipHop: Growing up, did you think you’d be the international artist you are today?

Drei Ros: Nah, not really. Growing up, I didn’t really speak English. I used to listen to songs and try to rap in gibberish because I didn’t know the language. The first rap tape I got was Kris Kross, I was 9 years old. I came to the States for the first time to visit in ‘96. I remember Biggie just died, “I’ll Be Missing You” was on all the radios. I got into Bad Boy, the whole squad. A big fan of East Coast hip hop, I like Wu-Tang. I had to buy the double CD three times because I played it so much, one of my favorites. I was a big fan of Busta Rhymes, DMX. I still believe DMX is one of the best. I got into West Coast later on: Pac, Snoop, Nate Dogg.

AllHipHop: When did you come to LA?

Drei Ros: 6 years ago, I packed all my stuff and said “I’m out, I’m going to LA.” I . Before that I was in Seattle for a while, going back and forth to Europe. I came to manage some producers, that didn’t work out. I came back to doing my own music. I tried management, but it’s so hard sometimes.

AllHipHop: You’re still doing it right?

Drei Ros: Yeah, I have a couple artists I’m developing their sound. I enjoy management but sometimes it’s hard dealing with talent. They think they owe you, you’re like their father. I don’t have to clean your room, that’s not my role. If you find the right artist, it could be amazing.

AllHipHop: What about you, did you have management?

Drei Ros: I never really had management. I always wanted to find a good manager but if I’m moving faster than the manager, the manager’s not really helping me. These days, we move and don’t wait for nothing. It’s very hard to find a manager that keeps up with the creativity. All the big, good managers, they’re so busy with their big artists. You can only find somebody that wants to come up.

AllHipHop: You’re an entrepreneur too, what businesses do you have?

Drei Ros: I do a lot outside music. We even turned “Excuse My Accent” into a media company, we did a documentary about deported veterans. Rob invited two deported veterans to the video shoot. When I heard the story, I felt so compassionate about everything going on. I want to have “Excuse My Accent” as a hub for people’s stories and documentaries. I have a transportation company but it’s on pause, I try to diversify. You have to diversify especially with music because you always have to invest in yourself and your craft. There’s no way you could make it these days, you need other sources of income outside of music.

AllHipHop: How did COVID-19 affect your life and career?

Drei Ros: I released my best music since this started because I had more time. I was able to release an album executive produced by 808 Mafia called Origin, with Fuse and MP808. I did a song with Sean Paul called “Closer To You.” It’s exciting, I grew up listening to Sean Paul. When I was young, I had the corn rows and everybody sang “Gimme The Light.” Every time I work with a legend, it gets me very excited.

I have this song called “Tables Turn 2.0” with Rich The Kid, I got DJ Paul on that one. I was a big Three 6 Mafia fan. I told him “look bro I know there’s all these people on the song, but I look up to you the most. I’m the most excited about you, I really appreciate it.” I really had to humble down. It’s always like that with legends, it does it for me. I like the new generation but the legends — I know they don’t stream as much, but they’re legends.

AllHipHop: How’s it feel to have the world respond so positively to “Excuse My Accent”?

Drei Ros: It’s doing great. We’re getting a lot of attraction in the Latin countries, slowly promoting here in the States. That’s the focus of the song, what’s going on here in the United States.

AllHipHop: When did you know you wanted to release it?

Drei Ros: I had the song ready before COVID, but I had to wait because everybody’s attention moved from immigration and minorities to everything about COVID. Now’s a good time to release it and really put it out there for the people, to ring more unity and bring people together. There’s so much division going on.

Beyonce Takes Over TV Studio For Top Secret Project

(AllHipHop News) Beyonce has reportedly commandeered a local TV studio in The Hamptons, New York to record a top-secret video.

According to the New York Post’s gossip column Page Six, the star forced officials at the location to cancel bookings from others who were scheduled to film there, after she suddenly decided to take over the LTV studio in Wainscott, Long Island.

“It’s a big studio with two separate buildings,” a source explained. “The whole thing was closed for Beyonce so nobody could go in.”

The filming apparently took place for four days.

Socialite Jean Shafiroff, who shoots her Successful Philanthropy show at the studios every week, was one of those allegedly ousted from the venue, revealing she got an e-mail telling her that her usual mid-week slot had been shifted to a Friday.

“I love Beyonce, so I was happy to give her my time at the studio. I canceled my guest and I’m interviewing her this week instead,” she joked.

“My only regret is that Beyonce didn’t invite us to watch the taping, now that all the big concerts have been canceled.”

Shafiroff was due to interview Loida Lewis, the first Asian woman to pass the New York bar.

Beyonce has yet to share details of her forthcoming project.

Eminem Impersonator Gets Hit With 5 Sexual Harassment Allegations!

(AllHipHop Rumors) Chris D’Elia!

Chris D’Elia is a comic known widely for making fun of Eminem. Well it seems like Chris is in hot water now and the Mitu movement is on his body. There are a number of allegations coming out that have stated emphatically that Chris exposed himself to a number of women over the course of a decade. Megan Drust Alleges that the comedian asked her for a ride home from a Los Angeles restaurant. The only thing is the ride never happened. When he got into the car he allegedly unzipped his pants and expose his private to her. Now, four other women are also coming forward with similar stories.

By the way, Chris D’Elia denies all of these stories and allegations.

So, a total of five women have now accused Chris of sexual improprieties and it has resulted in him getting dropped from various opportunities that were in front of him. Netflix namely has replaced him in an upcoming feature project. This sucks for a number of reasons! First of all, I’d like to think and hope Chris did not do the things that he is accused, but he is currently in the fire, not convicted. I guess in these days and times there is no way that you can mess with somebody that is accused of these heinous acts.

But the details are startling and we all thought he was just a funny guy that we assumed would p### Eminem off. But Eminem ended up calling him into his world for a moment as a guest in a rap video. Honestly, I didn’t think Chris was all that funny as a standup comedian but he was totally hilarious as Eminem. Now I looked at a report on CNN and they really detailed all of the accounts, by these women. He and his lawyers have their work cut out for them.

One more for the road.

Tekashi 6ix9ine Gloats Over Snitching In New Interview

(AllHipHop News) Rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine agreed to testify against Nine Trey gang members Anthony ‘Harv’ Ellison and Aljermiah ‘Nuke’ Mack and get out of jail after growing tired of their efforts to keep him quiet.

The “Fefe” hitmaker, real name Daniel Hernandez, was released from prison earlier this year, after serving a 24-month sentence on conspiracy to murder and armed robbery counts.

Originally facing decades behind bars, he agreed to testify during the trial of Ellison and Mack, who were facing federal racketeering and firearms charges, as part of a deal to win him his freedom.

In a new interview with The New York Times – the first since his release, Tekashi reveals federal agents offered him protection before his jail time began, but he wasn’t prepared to co-operate.

Eventually, he caved after realizing the gang leaders had abused his trust: “I said, ‘I need to speak to your boss. I’m ready to snitch now’,” he recalls. “The very next morning, they said, you know what, if something happens to this kid, somebody kills him, it’s on us. They took everybody down, knowing in the back of their head, this kid is about to let the whistle blow. The very next morning, I was in their office.”

The rapper admits he didn’t take the decision to “snitch” lightly, adding, “I really want this to hit home: When I was kidnapped, was I a victim? Did I co-operate? No. When they were stealing money from shows, did I co-operate? No. Did I have many chances to tell the police what I saw? Yes.

“I was following a street code that was upheld by me and that I thought was real. Before I broke the street code, how many times was it broken to me…? Let’s talk about if sleeping with somebody’s girl is honor, kidnapping somebody is honor, stealing hundreds of thousands of dollars from them is honor, trying to kill them is honor.

“Snitching’s not street but street is taking advantage of one of your homies?”

But he tells the Times he still has no regrets about getting involved with the Nine Trey gang, adding, “I knew what I was doing… I knew what I was getting into.”

(AllHipHop News) Richard Lamar Hawk is facing serious legal trouble. The Georgia native, better known as Silentó, was arrested over the weekend in two separate incidents in California.

Silentó was taken into custody on August 28 after Santa Ana police responded to a call about a domestic violence complaint. He was booked on a charge of inflicting corporal injury on a spouse or cohabitant and later released.

The following day, the “Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae)” performer was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon. Silentó reportedly entered a stranger’s home with a hatchet while apparently searching for his girlfriend in the wrong residence. The homeowners and their children were said to be present at the time.

Smilez is about to be a problem in the rap game.

In fact, Smilez has a standout feature on 6ix9ine’s upcoming album, Tattletales

Smilez states: “Everything’s about to turn yellow.”

Chika Calls Out Waka Flocka For His Comments About Police Killing Black People

(AllHipHop News) Police brutality and state-sponsored violence continue to be topics of conversation across the country. Jacob Blake getting shot at in the back 7 times by Kenosha police officer Rusten Sheskey is one of the latest incidents to spark discussions about Black Lives Matter and police reform.

Atlanta rapper Waka Flocka Flame (born Juaquin James Malphurs) decided to share his thoughts on the ongoing fight against systemic racism in American police forces. The “No Hands” rapper chose to focus on comparing violence between individual African-Americans to law enforcement unjustly killing the citizens they are sworn to protect.

https://www.instagram.com/p/CEmPzHyA8Oo

“How can we as a community beg the police to don’t shoot but we killing each other still? We gotta ask ourself how bad do we want true freedom?” posted Waka on his Instagram page.

2020 XXL Freshmen Class member Jane Chika Oranika responded to Waka’s comments. The 23-year-old, Alabama-raised emcee blasted her fellow southerner in a thread of messages on Twitter.

“Everybody of every race commits violence against each other, it is not specific to our community. What IS specific to us is having these respectability politics used as a condition for us to receive simple human decency from people who swore to serve and protect,” tweeted Chika.

She added, “In simple terms, nobody else has been asked to stop killing each other if they don’t wanna be killed. This is stupid. and would only come from someone who doesn’t have the range to understand double standards. Or umm… racism?”

The “High Rises” performer went on to state, “In simpler terms, shut the hell up, Flocka. [Thanks].” Chika also covered the matter on Instagram by writing a caption that read, “@wakaflocka — shhh. Not [right now].”

LL Cool J Talks Racial Issues In America & Chadwick Boseman’s Legacy

(AllHipHop News) Earlier this summer, LL Cool J expressed his thoughts about the #BlackLivesMatter movement with a freestyle posted to Instagram. He rapped about racism, police brutality, white supremacists, and more.

https://www.instagram.com/p/CA4BGv9gvm8

LL’s IG verse opened with a reference to George Floyd, the unarmed Black man that was killed by Minneapolis police officers in May. The iconic emcee born James Todd Smith addressed racial issues again in a recent interview with STROMBO on Apple Music Hits.

“There is a right side of history and a wrong side of history,” said LL. “I think the right side of history is people being one and not marginalizing any group and everybody having an opportunity to be successful and take care of their families and live their dreams.”

He continued, “And then you have another group who try to rationalize mistreatment based on a false premise that they are somehow more worthy of certain things, when in reality that’s just not true.”

The world recently lost Black Panther star Chadwick Boseman to colon cancer at the age of 43. Boseman’s role in the MCU blockbuster inspired people of color around the world and proved to Hollywood executives that a movie with an all-Black cast can make over $1 billion at the box office. LL spoke about the late actor’s impact.

“These racist thoughts really have no true merit. They’re just rules that people were living by that really were only true because they were being enforced,” offered LL Cool J. “I think for lack of a better word [Boseman] broke the ‘4-minute mile.’ People just thought no one could do that, and he just proved what could be done.”

The Kennedy Center Honors recipient added, “Playing that character in Black Panther and changing the perception of how movies with Black leads can be treated worldwide, he proved that this whole idea that Blacks couldn’t sell internationally was a complete and absolute myth. I mean, he debunked that myth on every level. It proved that it was just part of some sort of systemic biased that had kind of been baked into society.”

Teyana Taylor Honors Emmett Till, Breonna Taylor, Trayvon Martin & More With “Still” Music Video

(AllHipHop News) Teyana Taylor is saying their names. The multi-talented entertainer used her “Still” music video to list the numerous African-Americans that have been victims of police violence or harmed by racially-motivated actions.

“Still” also includes images of several Black political and social leaders such as Malcolm X, Martin Luther King, Huey Newton, and John Lewis. Taylor directed the MV under the name Spike Tey. Her all-female led production company, The Aunties, produced the video.

“I literally can do everything. I never look at anything as being impossible,” says Taylor. “I exhaust all options to make what happen when I need to make happen.”

Bryson Tiller Returns With “Inhale” Music Video

(AllHipHop News) Elusive R&B singer-songwriter/rapper Bryson Tiller is back with new music. The 27-year-old Kentuckian returned with a music video for “Inhale.”

The track borrows from “Not Gon’ Cry” by Mary J. Blige and “All Night Long” by SWV. Both songs appeared on 1995’s Waiting to Exhale: Original Soundtrack Album.

Tiller’s new visual ends with the words “New Album This Fall” on the screen. The BET Award winner has not released a full-length project since True to Self in 2017.

True to Self debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 chart by earning 107,000 first-week units. That LP was the follow-up to the 3x-Platinum Trapsoul album from 2015.

Did ASAP Ferg Get Kicked Out Of ASAP Mob?

(AllHipHop Rumors) ASAP Ferg has been kicked out of the entire ASAP Mob. How did this happen? I have no idea but it seems like the internal issues have gone full-blown public. First of all, ASAP Rocky has had no comment on anything that is going on. But ASAP Barry and ASAP Illz have both commented on the dismissal. I had no idea that ASAP Illz was the one that started the whole ASAP Mob. But this apparently is true, and he has been the most vocal about this dismissal.

View this post on Instagram

A post shared by Jonny Fastlane (@jonnyfastlane)

Now ASAP Ferg has not really said anything about this. But, he did respond slightly with a Meek Mill song that had Diddy talking about family, money, and loyalty. Or something. I’m not gonna go back and transcribe the words but you get his point. He didn’t say much after that. The weird thing is I thought Ferg was dropping ASAP anyway. But, clearly they were still a crew.

Hopefully, these guys work it out, because New York cannot really afford to take any losses in the way I see it. A$AP Mob needs A$AP Ferg on their team. I don’t know where the money is coming from but, At this point, A$AP Ferg is the most recognizable name in the crew. Rocky is out here doing his pretty-boy thing!

Bring back Nipsey! Sorry that popped out! lol!!

Snoop Dogg Explains Why Trusting Cops Is Difficult

(AllHipHop News) Calvin Broadus aka Mr. Doggystyle has been a rap superstar for so long that it is easy to forget that he is from Long Beach. While he has lived a life of fame and fortune, he actually knows the violence and harassment on the streets that regular people go through.

Which is why he has used his platform to speak out against civil injustice — repeatedly.

While appearing on the Fox Soul show “The Mix,” Snoop Dogg was asked about this generation’s use of social media to share videos of police-violence and if it is hurtful or helpful. He noted the following:

“Well, for many years it was going on without cameras … [These videos] pulled the [cover] off of the real enemy. They didn’t want nobody to see how they get at us. To me, it’s saving lives and showing exactly what we’re up against. Making these songs that we wrote 20 years ago, makes sense,” Snoop Dogg explained.

Snoop noted that the videos are not even enough.

“We still have to fight for that. You know, when it was supposed to be equality and all men created equally … [it’s like] we are still 10% of a man and we’re dealing with people who feel like they are 90% of a man. When it should be 50/50 (or either whatever the number is) because we should be even. We are all equal,” Snoop Dogg said.

Then, Snoop drew attention to how discrimination works in policing, oftentimes giving the white guy the benefit of the doubt that is refused a Black guy.

“What about when you see the white side of the camera? You see the exact same incident with a white person in the police officer … he can beat the police up … he can cuss … he could be fighting … and he gonna make it home…you gonna make it to the state [penitentiary]. [This is what] it is to be Black and what it is to be other.”

His advice to young people was based on what he was told as a kid, “when the police come they should run.”

“People like myself in the 80s when I was a drug dealer, I had encounters with the police where they would beat us up, and they would do certain things to us,” Snoop explained. “So, we naturally ran from them. When I got to the point of being a rapper and started making songs about them and I was criticized by them … now I’m looking at 2020 … and looking at the exact same things happening but now there’s a visual picture to the wall. They are being called out and it’s making them have a conscience. Now, we’re watching and that the world is watching now.”

Eliza Reign Takes Future Back To Court Saying Child Support Bill Is Too Low

(AllHipHop News) Is $3,200 a month a lot to receive for a child support payment?

If you are Eliza Reign and you have a baby with Atlanta rapper Future, it might not seem like a lot of money.

After scoffing at the number, issued by the court, her attorneys are asking for the father of six to pay roughly $53,000 a month, 16 times more than the original award. They argue that he is making more money than he has reported and they have receipts.

Reign’s attorney, Brandon Rotbart, spoke about the decision saying, “We disagree with it. We had some other evidence that was contradictory.”

“We are very hopeful that once we get all the documentation from him, his banking info, his credit card info, that the final child support number would be substantially higher,” Rotbart said.

Future has long maintained that Eliza Reign had her “check baby” as a quick get rich scheme. Back in February, as reported by AllHipHop.com, court documents stated that he believed that Reign was taking “fertility drugs” before they started having sex.

Originally, Future only wanted to pay $450 a month.

Clearly, that is not enough. If a judge were to grant Eliza Reign’s request, the “Life is Good” rapper will have paid n $11 million by the time the child is 18-years-old.
