(AllHipHop Rumors) Well, we have good news! The Beef IS OVER! Drake went online and “liked” something that was decidedly PRO-MEEK MILL. How cool is that?! Drake does these slick things, because he knows, people like us will get on their sites and social media and OOZE all over it like a slug oozes over warm concrete to get to the cool place. All that beef was was warm concrete! don’t get too rapped up in it! These guys – we’ve seen their skills! They not really fighting anything. A grape is safe in this food fight!

Fast Food Strikes Again: DMX In New KFC Commercials!

(AllHipHop Rumors) Put this under “Signs The World Is Coming To And End.” DMX is one of the hardest rappers to ever walk the planet. Well, guess what? He is now in a Kentucky Fried Chicken commercial. I know they want you to call it KFC, but guess what? We are going to keep it real for a minute, my friend. Somebody has licensed “X Gon’ Give It To Ya” to Colonel Sanders! And Why is Colonel pronounced “kernel” anyway? So…here it is. Tell me this isn’t discrimination!

You don’t see them doing this to Nirvana or The Backstreet Boys or Willie Nelson!

By the way, Yonkers NY has bad luck with fast food commercials. Mary J. says that Burger King commercial ruined her career!

With his IRS issues, DMX may need to do whatever he has to do at this time! I judge not!

R. Kelly Accused Of Running A Sex “Cult” In His Chicago & Atlanta Homes

(AllHipHop News) R&B singer R. Kelly’s name is once again attached to troubling accusations.

Buzzfeed published an extensive exposé about the 50-year-old Chicago native allegedly holding women against their will.

Parents of an aspiring singer have been trying to get help for the now 21-year-old who has been with R. Kelly (born Robert Kelly) for two years.

The mother and father say the unnamed woman has engaged in very little contact with her family since going to live with the celebrity.

However, authorities do not consider the woman a missing person, and she told police she was “fine and did not want to be bothered with her parents because her father was threatening people.”

Three other women that were supposedly once part of Kelly’s inner circle provided a different perspective of the alleged situation.

Buzzfeed reports:

They said six women live in properties rented by Kelly in Chicago and the Atlanta suburbs, and he controls every aspect of their lives: dictating what they eat, how they dress, when they bathe, when they sleep, and how they engage in sexual encounters that he records.

Two of those former associates – Kitti Jones and Asante McGee – said they used to live with Kelly and were involved in sexual relationships with the Grammy winner.

They claimed Kelly controlled their phone/social media use and were banned from taking photos with him or of the space where they lived.

“R. Kelly is the sweetest person you will ever want to meet,” McGee said. “But Robert is the devil.”

Jones and another woman named Cheryl Mack stated Kelly was also physically and verbally abusive.

The “Bump N’ Grind” performer has faced numerous allegations of engaging in sex with underage girls, but the women said to be involved in this so-called “cult” are all above the legal age in the respective states.

Kelly has maintained he was never involved in any type of illegal sexual encounters with minors.

His attorney, Linda Mensch, issued the following statement about the “cult” claims to Buzzfeed:

We can only wonder why folks would persist in defaming a great artist who loves his fans, works 24/7, and takes care of all of the people in his life. He works hard to become the best person and artist he can be. It is interesting that stories and tales debunked many years ago turn up when his goal is to stop the violence; put down the guns; and embrace peace and love. I suppose that is the price of fame. Like all of us, Mr. Kelly deserves a personal life. Please respect that.

Rumors of the 12 Play album creator running a “harem” have circulated for years.

Producer Southside Blasts Interscope Record Label And Its EVP Joie Manda (VIDEO)

(AllHipHop News) For decades, artists and music labels have been caught in conflicts over deals, release dates, finances, creative freedom, and more.

The latest entertainer to take issue with a record company is producer Southside, aka Sizzle.

In particular, the “I Got The Keys” beat maker took aim at Interscope Geffen A&M Records and its Executive Vice-President Joie Manda.

“These motherf-ckers want to see you fail,” stated Southside in a live social media broadcast. “This bald head ass n-gga Joie flew me to New York to tell me, ‘Yo, we’re gonna back out because we don’t want anyone to sue you for what happened with your deal.'”

He continued, “N-ggas came to rob me. Y’all mad I upped pistols on n-ggas cause they came to rob me? Come on, bro. That’s crazy.”

According to Southside, Interscope executives requested he not talk about their meeting in public.

“F-ck y’all! I don’t need y’all money,” declared the 808 Mafia member.

Sizzle then warned aspiring artists about signing with Interscope.

He also suggested the company’s successful acts like Kendrick Lamar and Mike Will Made-It’s EarDrummers crew were anomalies.

“Let me get my money, n-gga, for all them wack ass f-cking projects y’all had me doing with them wack ass artists y’all got. F-ck outta here,” said Southside. “Kendrick’s the only thing over there that’s fire. And Mike Will do his part for his side. Y’all don’t do sh-t for Mike.”

The Atlanta native added, “Everybody else over there – f-ck ya! I don’t give a f-ck. Who gonna say what? Nobody gonna say nothing, n-gga.”

Sizzle later mentioned Playboi Carti as the only other artist on Interscope that he respects.

In addition, Southside announced he’s teaming with TM88 for an upcoming 808 Mafia album titled F-ck The Label Vol 1.

“Y’all n-ggas ain’t gonna enslave me. I’m not going for that sh-t,” asserted the Trap Ye mixtape creator. “Y’all n-ggas mad ’cause I’m smart and I’m black. That’s what it is.. Y’all been trying to make me sign [a deal]. I’m not a f-cking idiot. Y’all done lost y’all f-cking mind. I’m a black CEO for a reason. I took nothing and made that sh-t into millions.”

Lil Scrappy Shares His Reaction To Hearing Jay-Z’s “Holding Money To Your Ear” Line (VIDEO)

(AllHipHop News) While rappers like Future and Young Buck appeared to be critical of JAY-Z’s 4:44, one fellow southerner has nothing but praise for the project.

Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta star Lil Scrappy was asked about Hov’s latest musical effort.

“I love Jay-Z’s 4:44 album,” Scrappy told DJ Smallz. “It’s breaking down all the lame sh-t everybody be doing.”

One of the most talked about lines from 4:44 is on the track titled “The Story of O.J.”

Jay-Z rapped on the record, “Y’all on the Gram holding money to your ear. There’s a disconnect, we don’t call that money over here.”

Those particular lyrics have caused debate online about rap stars flaunting their wealth on social media.

Scrappy shared his reaction to Jay’s bars about the “money phone” trend.

“I even had a stack to my ear when I was listing to it,” recalled Scrap. “I was like [mimics putting money in his pocket]… I’m gonna put my money back in my bank account then… I was feeling that.”

The one time Lil Jon protegé also defended Jay-Z against backlash from other people that took issue with his “The Story of O.J.” bars.

“He’s just in a different league,” stated Scrappy about the Hip Hop legend. “He’s talking to the dudes that supposed to be grown, the grown dudes that wanna act like the kids. It’s backward.”

Scrappy also explained how it was actually a line from “Kill Jay-Z” that hit him the hardest.

The song features Hov spitting, “I don’t even know what you woulda done. In the Future, other n-ggas playing football with your son.”

“That was the one,” declared Scrappy.

Vic Mensa Avoids Jail Time In Concealed Firearm Case

(AllHipHop News) Vic Mensa is preparing to release his debut studio album The Autobiography on July 28.

As the Chicago emcee was getting set to let loose new music, he also had a pending court case hanging over his head.

In March, Mensa was arrested on weapons charges in Beverly Hills.

TMZ now reports the “OMG” rapper will avoid jail time in the case.

Mensa pled no contest to carrying a concealed firearm and received two years probation.

The charge of carrying an unregistered loaded firearm was dropped.

Reportedly, he will also have to pay $1,325 in restitution.

Rap Albums Hold The Top 4 Spots On Billboard 200 Chart For The First Time Since 2015

(AllHipHop News) Thanks to JAY-Z, 21 Savage, Kendrick Lamar, and DJ Khaled, Hip Hop is having its most successful chart week in two years.

The Billboard 200 chart is currently dominated by albums from those four acts.

JAY’s 4:44 debuted at #1 on the tally with 262,000 equivalent album units (174,000 traditional album sales).

That makes 14 career #1 albums for the Roc Nation boss, extending his record for most #1’s by a solo artist.

Atlanta newcomer 21 Savage’s Issa Album comes in at #2.

The project opens with 77,000 units (22,000 albums).

Kendrick Lamar’s DAMN remains in the Top 3 yet again as it collected another 54,000 units, and DJ Khaled’s Grateful drops three spots to #4 with 50,000 units.

Rap albums currently control the top four spots on the Billboard 200 for the first time since 2015.

The last time the genre achieved that feat was when Wale’s The Album About Nothing (#1), the Furious 7 soundtrack (#2), Ludacris’ Ludaversal (#3), and Lamar’s To Pimp a Butterfly (#4) led the chart.

Is There Beef Within The ASAP Ranks?

(AllHipHop Rumors) There is a video of ASAP Bari hitting a woman – allegedly! Well, that is an allegation that the rapper has since commented on in the media. Can we talk about how I didn’t even know there was an ASAP Bari? My bad. Back to the topic at hand. It seems like Bari wanted some “brains” and when he could not get it, he got physical – allegedly.

Well, ASAP Rocky recently rapped, “Telephone calls from Young Carti said it’s lit/ called the Yung Lord A$AP Bari he a b####.” ASAP KILLS ASAP! Looks like Rocky is not really feeling the allegations of abuse against his homie.

Bari has kind of denied the charges in a statement.

“A misleading video clip featuring adult content and activity has been released to the public without my knowledge or consent. Comments about myself or anyone being detained or arrested are false. We have resolved this issue amicably among all parties as adults. We were friends before this and will remain friends afterwards. Being raised by strong women who taught me to respect everyone, I’m disappointed in the situation as well as myself and will reflect on the situation appropriately.”

Here is the clip of Rocky.

Did Conor McGregor Get Knocked Out In Sparring?

(AllHipHop Rumors) Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather are in a huge war of words. But if the rumors are true in any way, FM may have a mental advantage over CM. Around the 2:10 mark, they say Brandon Rios knocked out Colon McGregor in sparring. This likely means that Floyd will demolish him like experts suggest. There is that ”puncher’s shot” but I don’t even think that’s a realistic option.

This is not a good side for the alleged racist MMA fighter. I know Floyd Mayweather has no politics and even met with Trump…but…he’s always been cool with AllHipHop.

Kendrick Lamar Explains How Label CEO Top Dawg Almost Robbed Him

(AllHipHop News) Kendrick Lamar will always be “fascinated” by how his life has come full circle after rapping about a real-life robbery incident involving his now-record label boss and his father.

The “Humble” hitmaker shared an intriguing story on his song “Duckworth,” from his latest album DAMN., detailing how his dad’s generosity while working at a KFC fast food restaurant helped to save him from near-certain death in a planned armed robbery masterminded by a young Anthony ‘Top Dawg’ Tiffith.

Tiffith eventually turned his back on a life of crime and started his own Top Dawg Entertainment label, to which Kendrick is now signed.

In a candid discussion with comedian Dave Chappelle for Interview magazine, Kendrick reveals the entire story he discusses on the track is true, and he is still amazed by the series of events which have led him to where he is today.

“(It’s a) true story, and one of my favorite records on the album,” the hip-hop star says. “The idea that I wanted to put across from that event was one of perspective. Everybody has their own perspective, and recognizing someone else’s perspective blows my mind a hundred thousand per cent.

“The way that event unfolded… I had to sit down and ask my pops, ‘What was your perspective at the moment?’ And, ‘Did you ever think it would come around full circle like that?’ That always fascinated me.”

Some Info On Why Prodigy’s Mural Was Defaced! And Good News!

(AllHipHop Rumors) Prodigy wasn’t a Queensbridge native and he had “beef” with certain individuals that are still fuming over it. Seems like these are the reasons that the Prodigy mural was not allowed to stay up after he died. Mike Delorean has the answers in a recent interview. This is a very interesting conversation that goes very deep into the QB culture and names names like Lake, Sherm and others. I realize now this is way, way more personal than we realize.

Oh, by the way, there is another mural in Singapore. check it:

For Men, Jay-Z, Jay Electronica And Vic Mensa Have The Most Important Songs Of The Year

(AllHipHop Opinion) Wow. Maybe I missed something in recent years, but I this has been a really good year for Hip-Hop and we are only halfway through 2017. Jay-Z’s album 4:44 was like an open handed slap in the mouth to men all across the nation, particularly Black men. As with any slap, it can be taken two ways. It can wake you up or p### you off. I like to think I was both “angry” and “woke” before 4:44 dropped, but others certainly had a varied response to the Brooklyn rapper. It was the title track “4:44” that moved me the most.

Jay-Z raps:

“Look, I apologize, often womanize
Took for my child to be born, see through a woman’s eyes
Took for these natural twins to believe in miracles
Took me too long for this song, I don’t deserve you
I harassed you out in Paris
“Please come back to Rome,” you make it home
We talked for hours when you were on tour
“Please pick up the phone, pick up the phone!”
I said: “Don’t embarrass me,” instead of “Be mine”
That was my proposal for us to go steady
That was your 21st birthday
You matured faster than me, I wasn’t ready
So I apologize
I seen the innocence leave your eyes
I still mourn this death and
I apologize for all the stillborns cause I wasn’t present
Your body wouldn’t accept it”

Prior to Jay-Z, I was listening to one song almost exclusively. That was Jay Electronica’s “Letter To Falon.” I played that song over and over and over and over. I tweeted and IG’d Jay-E to let him know it was a moving song. He responded with a “like.” I told others about the song and it spread in my circle like a small virus. I even used the song in a small speech I made to young Black and Brown men in NJ’s LIVE Mentorship Program to encourage them to “keep going” and do great things in this cruel, cruel world. I related to the depth of “Letter to Falon.”

Jay Electronica:

“I was born on Tatooine with dreams of sand
I kept going
The blind would undermine my plans
I kept growing
God bless the child that has
I kept building
One can’t rewind the past
I push forward
The pain was too much to bear
I kept hurting
Nobody could feel me there
I kept quiet
The tears would begin to well
I just fought em’
They say you gotta pay your dues
I just bought em’
What they don’t know won’t hurt em’
I pledge to never be no one’s burden”

After Jay-Z’s 4:44, I was struck by Vic Mensa’s “Wings,” where he’s assisted by the immortal Pharrell Williams and the criminally dope Saul Williams. The song is the opening to The Autobiography, his next album. If “Wings” is any indication, the album is going to be potent truth for the present generation.

Mensa raps:

“The beat is my therapist, Skateboard, paint the picture
A portrait of the artist formerly known as Vic
I read the signs I was close to overdose like Prince
Picking pill pieces up out of the bathroom sink

Like an armored truck ride in the rink
I’d probably be a vegetable if not for medical attention
My self destructive habits have me itching like Tyrone Biggums
In the cyclone of my own addiction
The voices in my head keep talking, I don’t wanna listen…”

These songs are all critically important and potentially an indication of another Renaissance for Hip-Hop music. But, this is not just any renaissance that is comprised of dope bars, bravado and beats. These are men of different ages, walks and caliber showing deep, colorful hues of honesty, vulnerability and maturity. Now, this isn’t new, but these days most of commercial Hip-Hop offers man-children hiding their depression, frustrations and complex issues with false bravado, masks, self-destructive drugs and toxic misogyny. Kind of like the 90’s for those not caught up in revisionist history…

Jay-Z, Jay Electronica and Vic Mensa are men. Once upon a time, rappers were super heroes. They were infallible, larger than life and largely one dimensional super beings that could no wrong. When they did wrong, it was often hidden unless it served a greater purpose (like labels being able to exploit flaws and misery for sales). In other cases, we saw grotesque, tortured souls that were like audible reality shows that we watched die, burn out or fall off a cliff of obscurity. We rarely – if ever – saw Black men deal with depression, trial, tribulation, defeat amid victory, drug addiction, women and relationships. Instead, we saw them perceptually at odds with other Black men, women, society and themselves in the most destructive ways.

These three songs are not all there is out in Hip-Hop in this vein. They just happen to be my favorites at the moment and a great sampler of what exists in 2017. They represent to me what Hip-Hop music continues to be capable on a commercial, mainstream level. The greater community and Hip-Hop are disconnected. We object to drug addicted rappers as the “drugs” are being shoved down our throats. We object to the degradation of our girls and boys, but there continue to be forces that allow these counter-Black culture vultures to eat carcasses.

It is time for the community to embrace the artists not named Jay-Z. Although I name-check Jay-Z, Jay-E and Vic, there are many others pushing and promoting progressive messaging. The late, great Prodigy has another song of renaissance on his latest album – “Mafuckin USA”- from Hegelian Dialectic (The Book of Revelation). People didn’t even know that one of the most celebrated artists in Hip-Hop have evolved light years beyond “Shook Ones.”

We’re Black and beautiful, Black is powerful
And we all here to stay
Right here, ni99a, United States
Mafuckin’ USA, the US of A
Look, we are all beautiful, all powerful
All one human race
One love

  • Prodigy

Let us remember, we have always had much to give and, quite frankly, we may be offering more if we only paid closer attention to the voice inside.

Will Smith Set To Play The Genie In “Aladdin”

(AllHipHop News) Disney bosses revealed the full casts for their live action versions of Aladdin and Dumbo.

Officials at the company announced at the D23 Expo in Anaheim, California that, as expected, Will Smith will step into the late Robin Williams’ shoes to reprise the role of Genie which the late comic genius made his own in the 1992 animated version of the film.

British “Power Rangers” star Naomi Scott will play Princess Jasmine while Mena Massoud has been announced as the titular character.

The film marks the first big screen role for Massoud who reportedly beat out 2000 other actors.

He currently stars in the Amazon series Jack Ryan and is widely viewed by Hollywood executives as a star on the rise.

The film, to be directed by Guy Ritchie, will begin production in London later this month.

Meanwhile, Disney bosses also confirmed the casting for their other major animated-to-live action reboot, “Dumbo,” which Will Smith was also in early talks for.

Smoke Purpp And Reggie Mills Join Forces On “No Vape”

New Jersey native Reggie Mills and Miami rapper Smoke Purpp released a vibey trap record, “No Vape”. The smooth track is produced by Reggie Mills & 86zero and comes just in time to heat up the summer. Recorded after the duo co-headlined a showcase at South By Southwest 2017, the record dives into money, women, and expensive jewelry. The two eccentric rappers add to the hook while also delivering independent verses. Mills and Purpp are both scheduled to release albums before the end of 2017 entitled “Limitless” and “Deadstar” respectively. With the viral success these budding rappers are enjoying, this probably won’t be the last collab you hear from the two.

Did Tyrese Secure The Bag On Green Lantern?

(AllHipHop Rumors) If you know Tyrese like we know him, he’s been trying to get into the comic book world for a long time. First, it was Luke Cage nearly 10 years ago. That didn’t work out clearly. Now, he has his sights set on The DC universe’s John Stewart. No, not that dude that used to be on The Daily Show! The Green Lantern! Yes! For years, Black Ty has been pushing a relentless social media campaign that leads him to meetings with the brass at Warner Brothers.

Now, apparently millions of his followers are helping this along. Check it out in an interview with the Fast And Furious star said.

Blac Chyna Gets More Security To Keep Ferrari Away

(AllHipHop News) Blac Chyna has reportedly taken on more personal security after fearing for her own safety following ex-lover Ferrari’s recent behavior.

Chyna is said to be worried that rapper Ferrari True, who she recently had a short relationship with, may cause trouble at her upcoming club appearance at the Medusa Restaurant & Lounge in Atlanta, Georgia, tonight (July 15).

Earlier this week, Rob Kardashian’s ex-fiance had her lawyer Lisa Bloom issue Ferrari with a warning when she feared he would copy Rob, the father of her eight-month-old daughter Dream, and post revenge p### online after their brief fling.

The rapper had already posted a covered-up picture of the pair in bed together, and she is now concerned he could go one step further and copy Rob by uploading more revealing and intimate photos.

According to reports, Chyna is scared by his recent actions and doesn’t want him anywhere near her.

The source revealed that the 29-year-old had hired an additional four bodyguards to accompany her to the party in Atlanta.

Over the past week, Ferrari has bombarded Chyna with calls and texts and she has become increasingly concerned, especially after his recent interview on TMZ.

Speaking on camera, he said he believed lawyers were controlling Chyna and he was unsure as to whether they still had a relationship or not.

Although the insider claims the couple have officially called it quits.

The owner of Medusa Restaurant & Lounge added to TMZ that the rapper will be declined entry to the club and will not be allowed on to the premises at any time during Chyna’s appearance as per her request.

Who Really Inspired Jay-Z’s 4:44? Joey Badass Has An Idea!

(AllHipHop Rumors) Joey Bada$$ thinks he deserves a bit of credit for inspiring the man of the moment, Mr. Jay-Z.

In case you don’t know, Joey’s album had some harsh language in it for AmeriKKKa. It was a brash, political album like Jay’s. Only thing, Jay’s 4:44 has relationship matters and, in my opinion, speaks truth to power in a way that Joey simply cannot.

ANYWAY.

Here is what Joey said:

“I know I was an inspiration to that album. There’s nothing nobody can tell me,” Joey Bada$$ said in an interview with Montreality. “I put certain pressure on these OGs in the rap game, like they know what they gotta talk about now, cause they got this young ni**a Joey Bada$$ comin’ out, talking about this sh*t before they got the chance to talk about it,” he said. Finally, Bada$$ saluted Hov for his efforts on his 13th solo release. “I love the album, it’s great. I’m glad he spoke about everything he spoke on and I’m glad I could be inspirational.”

WELL, Joey is wrong. I know the real inspiration and its the OGs, not the YGs. Can’t name names though. Sorry.

Here is the full interview so you can get the full perspective. He loves Jay.
