(AllHipHop News) Director Brian Kirk (Game of Thrones) will deliver 21 Bridges in 11 days. The STXfilms motion picture stars Chadwick Boseman (Black Panther) as New York Police Department Detective Andre Davis.
The movie centers around Davis leading a citywide search for a pair of cop killers. He eventually directs the authorities to close all 21 bridges in Manhattan to prevent any entry or exit from the island.
“The idea of locking down Manhattan for a manhunt was incredibly compelling and cinematic,” says Chadwick Boseman. “We haven’t seen that before.”
Boseman adds, “Andre’s father, a policeman, was killed in the line of duty when Andre was just 13, so he has grown up with this unsettled murder of his dad. Over the years, Andre has become determined to not only avenge his father’s death, but those of any cops he has served with.”
In addition to the murder investigation, the lines get blurred in 21 Bridges when a massive conspiracy is uncovered. The film also explores the complexities of police officers and the suspects they are pursuing.
“I have an abiding fascination with manhunt movies and the moral journeys they present. This is a thriller with the energy of a massive chase. There’s a conceptual purity, visceral realism and heightened scale and spectacle that comes with the idea of locking down Manhattan overnight,” states Kirk.
The filmmaker continues, “It’s almost like a military invasion. It has an archetypal clarity you associate with classic myths and with the tradition of New York crime movies. 21 Bridges is a modern story that exists within that tradition.”
Chadwick Boseman and Logan Coles are credited as producers for 21 Bridges. Marvel Cinematic Universe regularsAnthony RussoandJoe Russo are part of the production team as well.
“Joe and Anthony godfathered me through the numerous challenges of making a film of this scale,” says Kirk. “They helped me create an environment where the best idea always wins. I drew inspiration from them throughout the film’s development, production and, especially, during post-production.”
The Russo Brothers worked closely with both Kirk and Boseman. The creative minds behind the MCU’s Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Infinity War, and Avengers: Endgame offer praise for the Northern Ireland-born director and the Howard University-educated actor.
“We grew up on genre films, especially elevated genre pictures with a particularly sophisticated execution of that type of material,” expresses Joe Russo. “Brian Kirk was someone at the top of our list of artists we wanted to work with. He understands the film’s themes and twists and turns, as well as the social potency of some of the issues it examines.”
Anthony Russo adds, “Chadwick is an incredible artist who always brings that same level of execution to his work as a producer. He understands not only the intricacies of his character, but how to step back and look at the bigger picture.”
BesidesChadwick Boseman, the cast of 21 Bridges features J. K. Simmons, Sienna Miller, Stephan James, Taylor Kitsch, Keith David, Alexander Siddig, Louis Cancelmi, and Victoria Cartagena. The film arrives in North American theaters on November 22.
(AllHipHop News) Last month, Lil Baby announced the winners of the inaugural “Spark The Beat” contest with Doritos. Phoenix rapper Ali Tomineek and Atlanta producer Rashad “Shad On The Beat” Jackson won the chance to record a song with the Quality Control artist.
The result of the in-studio collaboration is a track titled “Toast Up.” Lil Baby opened up the song with Tomineek presenting the second verse. Shad handled the production.
“When I started going through [the contestants] and a lot of stuff was similar, I started looking for things that stood out, someone who was different,” Baby explained to AllHipHop in October. He added, “When I sent them the song, it was on another beat so we re-recorded the song on the new beat – my version and the new vocals.”
Ali Tomineek also gained international exposure by making it to the Final 8 on Netflix’s Hip Hop competition series Rhythm + Flow. Rashad Jackson has previous production credits with Chief Keef, Glo Gang, and Capital T.
(AllHipHop News) Just days after Robert “Meek Mill” Williams took to social media to advocate for Texas Governor Greg Abbott to stop the execution of Rodney Reed, the Philly rapper continued to fight for other imprisoned individuals. Meek Mill and Philadelphia 76ers partner Michael Rubin met with Maurice Hudson in a Pennsylvania prison on Friday.
Hudson was sentenced to 1½ to 3 years because he was unable to afford to pay $1,941 in outstanding court costs. The father of two special-needs daughters was sent behind bars by Genece Brinkley, the same Philadelphia Common Pleas Court Judge that was involved in Mill’s arduous decade-long battle with the legal system.
In 2009, Hudson was convicted for serving as a lookout in a robbery and was placed on probation. Since that time, the 29-year-old has struggled to pay child support and court costs because he only earns about $600/month as a janitor. Rubin reportedly paid Hudson’s updated $2,148.59 court bill.
“I can’t understand how people can go to prison for not committing a crime,” said Rubin. “He’s a good person. He wants to be home and taking care of his kids. Instead, he’s in prison for being poor. He couldn’t pay his fines. He doesn’t have his GED and for that he’s in prison. If you are going to send people to prison, don’t send them there for the crime of being poor.”
Mill added, “Situations like this keep me grounded and focused on my mission for reform that I dedicated myself to two years ago… Seeing this man trapped behind bars gives me motivation to keep on fighting.”
Michael Rubin and Meek Mill are also co-chairman of the REFORM Alliance. Other high-profile individuals connected to the organization include CNN host Van Jones, Roc Nation owner Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter, New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft, and Vista Equity Partner CEO Robert Smith.
Did you know there are more than twice as many people on probation & parole than behind bars in the U.S.? When it comes to our broken justice system, mass incarceration is only the tip of the iceberg. Let’s pass smart probation laws and change the course of this Titanic crisis. pic.twitter.com/dRTwvPKEz3

(AllHipHop News) Post Malone is officially the king of the Billboard 200 for 2019. His Hollywood’s Bleeding album earned its fifth nonconsecutive week at #1 on the chart.
Hollywood’s Bleeding collected another 78,000 units to move past Kanye West’s Jesus Is King which slipped to #2 (72,000 units). Malone became the first act to hold the No. 1 position for five weeks since Drake’s Scorpion in Summer 2018.
The Texas-bred entertainer has also maintained a presence on the Hot 100 chart. “Sunflower” with Swae Lee (#1), “Wow” (#2), “Goodbyes” featuring Young Thug (#3), and “Circles” (#3) all peaked in the Top 5 in 2019.
According toHitsDailyDouble, Luke Combs’ What You See Is What You Get is expected to pull in 180,000 – 200,000 units to land at #1 next week. However, it is possible Post Malone could return to the pinnacle before the end of the year.
(AllHipHop News) Some audience members at Tyler, The Creator’s Camp Flog Gnaw Fest were not pleased about the surprise guest for the event. Apparently, fans were expecting fellow Odd Future member Frank Ocean.
Instead of Ocean, Drake showed up. Festivalgoers began booing the Canadian superstar. At one point, Drizzy said, “If you wanna keep going, I will keep going tonight. We’re trying to keep going.”
People responded with more boos and chants of “we want Frank.” Drake then told the displeased gathering, “It’s been love. I go by the name of Drake, thank you for having me.” He walked off the stage, reportedly cutting his set 20 minutes short.
Drake became the top Twitter trending topic on Sunday night/Monday morning. “Boo’d,” “We Want Frank,” and “Camp Flog Gnaw” were also trending on the social media platform.
Drake was booked as a surprise headliner for the Camp Flog Gnaw festival, but the fans were expecting Frank Ocean, so he got booed pic.twitter.com/w24AJucsfh
(AllHipHop News) Nelly was dragged off stage by an overzealous fan during his show in Palm Springs, California on Saturday night.
The rapper was performing at the Agua Caliente Resort Casino Spa Rancho Mirage when he approached the front of the stage to greet his adoring fans.
However, the gesture quickly took a turn for the worse, as one devotee yanked the star and sent him tumbling off stage.
In footage obtained by TMZ, Nelly is seen falling into the barricades, before dusting himself off and speaking with the female fan and alleged culprit.
Although the “Dilemma” hitmaker initially seemed annoyed by the incident, he quickly returned to the stage and expressed he was just thankful to have not been injured.
“You can’t pull me, shorty. I appreciate it – but I’m on the edge of the stage,” he told the fan. “If you pull me, I ain’t got nowhere to go!”
He went on to acknowledge the act wasn’t malicious and told security to leave her be as he carried on with the show.
(AllHipHop Rumors) Eminem is regarded as one of the best rappers to ever live. He’s also gotten away with hi-jinx that would end the careers of most rappers. The homophobia alone would have rendered him untouchable, but he’s also one of the most successful artists even with just cause.
Not too long ago, a song about “What if I was gay leaked” and people were like “thank God the whole song hasn’t leaked.” And now a whole song has leaked and it includes a Rihanna diss! Eminem and my boo RiRi have worked together on a number of songs, my favorite being “Love The Way You Lie.” I don’t know that she would have worked with son if she knew he advocated for Chris Brown’s domestic violence! Apparently, this song started out as one for his 2009 album, Relapse. SHEESH!
“Let me add my two cents / Of course I side with Chris Brown / I’d beat a b#### down, too”
Rihanna helped Eminem out quite a bit as he started to creep into the 2010’s as an elder to the culture. And this is the thanks she gets? One thing is for sure, Em is going to need to locate the person or persons leaking this wack sh#t! This does not bode well for people like me who are in love with Rihanna and Black women in general. I hope Em apologizes to RiRi and women in general. This is just silly.
How wild is it that their song is about really toxic relationships? Clearly Eminem has evolved since that leaked song was released, but still. Oddly, B.O.B. would go on to release a reworked version of the song minus any references to Rihanna.
The POTUS took to his own Twitter to announce he will be inviting the winners of the rap battle challenge to the White House to meet him and perform. He ends the tweet: “Good luck!”
According to Bryson Gray, he believes the challenge is easing the tension in culture and helping get the word out about Trump. He states, “not all Trump voters and GOP are stick ups.”
(AllHipHop News) Travis Scott supporters have to be some of the dedicated fans in the world, period.
Boasting 21.2 million followers on IG alone, it’s La Flame’s distinct high-energy, melodic hip-hop records that distinguishes him from any other artist in the game.
(AllHipHop Rumors) This is a part of my “Signs The World Is Coming To An End” section, but I didn’t have enough space in the headline. Anyway, this is what happened down in the great state of Texas, who is more known for lynching Black people through the judicial system. In the city of Kyle, one Black woman has changed the narrative a bit.
Now, there is quite a bit of speculation on what happened, but this is what we know right now. A sub (substitute teacher) and a student got into an altercation. The student swatted or slapped the teacher, resulting in a terrible beat down by the 32-year old teacher.
Tiffani Shadell Lankford was arrested for assaulting a 16-year old white girl at in a foreign language class at Lehman High School in Kyle. The beat down was swift and savage, to be honest. It ended with the child’s head getting stomped on after a few blows to the heads were delivered like an Amazon Prime package (aka really quick!). So, before we move on, here is the video.
Here is more info…
Now, I have one question, “WHY?” What in GOD’s name would make a substitute teacher go bonkers like that when she just started. Yes, Tiffani Shadell Lankford just started teaching in this capacity THIS semester and this is only her 18th day. She passed the background check and has a clean record so she seems to be a decent person. There are whispers. Those “whispers” come in the form of social media. You know these kids cannot keep quiet. Some of the kids that were there said that the unnamed white student may have called Lankford the N-Word. I think that would do it. I clearly do not know her, but that’s could be the one word that would make somebody throw it all away.
Tiffani Shadell Lankford now faces felony assault charges and has been fired from the school district. Somehow, I am thinking…she’s OK (at the moment) with her decision to open a can of whulp ass on a student. I am not condoning her actions, but I am looking at her mugshot and it has that smirk…a certain smirk.
Guess who else has an odd smirk?
A white dude that enslaved a mentally challenged African American man causing him to work over 100 hours per week, mentally and physically abused him, torturing him and all sorts of other goodies. He got 10 years in jail…Not a bad deal for doing something so heinous.
(AllHipHop News) Common is far more than just a hip-hop legend, he is a political activist.
The paparazzi recently caught up with the Chicago MC to ask his thoughts about a teacher in the Bay Area using blackface to dress up as himself for Halloween.
Sooooooooo… one of our WHITE teachers at mhs yesterday decided to paint his face so look like common the rapper yesterday. pic.twitter.com/1WudSddCLZ
The engineering teacher at Milpitas High School is a white male named David Carter who was even on administrative leave after the incident.
The tweet reads, “Sooooooooo… one of our WHITE teachers at mhs yesterday decided to paint his face so look like common the rapper yesterday.”
Common initially told TMZ, “What makes you think you can go up there and do that?” He proceeds to go into a discussion surrounding education.
“I think we need to look at the teacher, the administration and the people that we have leading our children in classrooms and make sure they are fully equipped not just with academic things, but also have emotional intelligence and understanding. Maybe that’s something that we start implementing in our schools.”
He also adds he’d love to have a heart-to-heart with Carter to let him know exactly how detrimental this incident was.
Common continues, “Blackface lacks understanding of what black and brown people go Through. I believe in forgiveness, understanding, and compassion to the point where I’m willing to sit and talk with the individual and also bring others who can dig deeper into the education of what blackface has come from.”
On Thursday (November 7). Carter issued a formal apology on NBC Bay Area.
“I recognize my mistake. I ask anybody who has been adversely affected by this, and that’s a lot of people, to give me another chance because my heart is in the right place.”
(AllHipHop News) If you’re a Travis Scott fan, you already know what goes into his live performances.
La Flame is known to put on the most high-energy, epic, memorable shows, which is why his Astroworld Festival in Houston was one of the most highly-anticipated events with 50,000 tickets sold before the lineup was even announced!
(AllHipHop Rumors) Cardi B and Nicki Minaj are two of the biggest stars in the whole world! And they seem to have eternal beef now. However, it has been fairly quiet on the Western Front…until now.
Cardi fired a shot at her rival over the weekend. How?
Nicki was the featured star on a new song that dropped last week by Karol G. I don’t know this person, but they have enough pull to get Nicki on a track on a Latino-tinged song called “Tusa.”
However, we all know that Cardi B is the “Afro Latina” or whatever she is these days. Apparently, they first tried to get Cardi on the song, which makes plenty of sense since she is in tune with that culture. Nicki is more West Indian/Caribbean. No shade. Just facts. Cardi declined to be on the song, but decided to comment on it.
She publicly tweeted that Nicki Minaj ONLY got the opportunity because she “passed on it.” Now, it didn’t take Cardi long to delete the tweet, but it was out there long enough.
What makes this more bizarre is that Cardi B has a new song that is with Anuel -Karol G’s fiancé! The world is small, but damn!
Now, moving on…Cardi is a real one.
One of Nicki’s doting “Barbz,” that happens to be a man popped sh#t over the internet. and guess what Cardi did…she pulled up in real life! She told them, “I’m not about trolling— I pull the f#ck up.”
(AllHipHop News) Sharon Stone is feeling some type of way about Chanel West Coast using her popularity and name in her 2018 song and visual for “Sharon Stoned” — so much so that the actress is suing.
CWC appeared to be shocked by the legal action, along with her fans.
In fact, she feels back-stabbed.
Chanel West Coast, real name Chelsea Dudley, claimed Sharon Stone was aware of the song and even tried to get in the video, which resulted in a lot of back and forth between reps and managers.
Then on the day of the actual shoot, Sharon did a complete 180.
Chanel claimed Sharon’s rep called her manager hours before the shoot began, saying the actress loved the idea and even wanted to be involved in the video.
Later that the same day, Sharon suddenly backed out — leaving Chanel confused.
Now, she’s calling BS on the lawsuit, defending her case that she was just paying homage to an individual she considered a hero, something a lot of hip-hop artists do.
To add fuel to the fire, Chanel claimed she made Sharon Stone popular again but exposing her to the youth.
Chanel thinks instead of suing her, Sharon should be thanking her.
