Paul McCartney Was Shook Working With Kanye West

(AllHipHop News) Paul McCartney admits he was initially “nervous” about working with Kanye West and wasn’t even sure their song would be released.

The former Beatles musician teamed up with the “Gold Digger” rapper and singer Rihanna on track “FourFiveSeconds” in 2015 and it made the top 10 in singles charts around the globe.

But McCartney couldn’t anticipate its success as he wasn’t even sure what to expect when it came to recording with West.

Recalling how his manager phoned him to share West’s desire to collaborate during a Facebook Live chat with Australian performer Tim Minchin, McCartney explained, “I was a little bit nervous at first, because I thought it could go horribly wrong. But I was intrigued to see what he was up to and how he did it. And it was a very intriguing process.

“You basically don’t write songs. You basically just talk and noodle a bit and you record it all on your phone. And then he goes away. And that’s basically his record,” added the 75-year-old.

However, three months after they’d finished working on the song McCartney still hadn’t received an update on what was happening next.

He felt so out of the loop he questioned whether West was even going to unveil it at all.

“I’m thinking, should I say, ‘Did we write a song? Will a record come out of this?’” the music icon said. “Anyway, this arrives and it’s a Rihanna song… I said, ‘This is great! I have to ring up and say, ‘Am I on this?’ And he goes, ‘Oh, yeah. You’re the guitar player.’ I go, ‘I don’t remember.’ And he said, ‘We sped it up.’”

McCartney didn’t mind that his efforts had been altered though, noting that his band’s famous album Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band – which celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2017 – was all about “manipulating” sounds.

Judge Changes Ruling And Reverses Terrence Howard Divorce Settlement

(AllHipHop News) Actor Terrence Howard has been dealt a legal blow in his court battle with his ex-wife after a judge ruled to reinstate his divorce settlement.

The “Empire” star and Michelle Ghent were married for just a year until 2011, and they subsequently became embroiled in a bitter legal fight over spousal support.

They reached an agreement in 2012, allowing them to finalize their divorce in 2013, but in 2015, the star successfully fought to have the deal overturned, amid claims he signed the paperwork under duress.

He accused Ghent of threatening to leak embarrassing information about his sex life to the press if he didn’t grant her financial support for three years.

Earlier this week, justices from the 2nd District Court of Appeal in Los Angeles ruled “the passage of time negates Howard’s claim.”

They also ruled his several attempts to reconcile with Ghent proved he wasn’t under duress when he signed the agreement.

Howard was ordered to pay Michelle’s appeal fees, according to the New York Post’s Page Six.

In 2012, Howard was ordered to pay Michelle $5,800-a-month in spousal support and as much as $4 million -a-year, depending on his earnings.

Howard is currently married to third wife, Mira Pak, and the couple has two sons – Qirin, 22 months, and Hero, seven months.

Michelle Ghent was granted a restraining order against the actor in 2013 after she alleged he kicked her and threatened to kill her.

The actor insisted he was acting in self-defense, and told Rolling Stone magazine, “She was trying to Mace me and you can’t see anything so all you can do is try to bat somebody away, and I think that something caught her. But I wasn’t trying to hit her.”

After two failed marriages, Terrence insists he is now “settled” with his third wife.

“Two weeks after meeting Mira, I gathered up things associated with my past and found a nice hill and buried them all there,” he told People.com in March (17). “Mira settled me. Our marriage is effortless. Relationships are hard work, but we really don’t fight.”

Diddy Works Hard To Keep His Kids’ Spirit’s “Intact”

(AllHipHop News) Diddy’s difficulties in life have inspired him to try his utmost to keep his children’s “spirits intact.”

While the rapper is now one of the most successful musicians in the world, and was recently named Forbes magazine’s highest-paid entertainer of 2017, things haven’t always been so easy.

One of his toughest times was the murder of his friend Biggie Smalls in 1997, and tragedies like that have made Diddy, real name Sean Combs, even more protective of his six offspring.

“I think it makes me very protective of them. It makes me protective of where their spirit’s at, most importantly, ’cause when I was going through a lot of that stuff, I lost a lot of my spirit,” Diddy, who is father to six children with three different women, told U.S. TV show Extra in a recent interview. “So when they’re going through things, I try to make sure their spirit stays intact.”

Diddy’s life story is explored in new movie “Can’t Stop, Won’t Stop.”

And the project doesn’t shy away from exploring the more challenging parts of the rapper’s life.

“It’s something that started out as, like, a regular music documentary, but it became something much bigger. It became a feature film. It’s something out there to inspire people, not just tell our history, but to inspire people,” he explained.

“We had to deal with 20-some-odd years of hits and 20-some-odd years of trials and tribulations and we looked up and we just had, like, this beautiful movie.”

Despite his musical success, Diddy is also well known for his former relationship with Jennifer Lopez, who he dated from 1999 to 2001.

And while both he and Jennifer have moved on from the romance, they remain close friends.

When Diddy was asked what he thinks of the singer’s new man Alex Rodriguez in the chat he shared he “absolutely” approves of Jennifer’s new beau, and added: “He’s a great guy.”

Jay-Z’s JetSmarter Company Accused Of Ripping Off Employees

(AllHipHop News) Jay Z’s new company is facing charges that it’s stiffed his employees in a new lawsuit.

JetSmarter, which is a startup backed by Jay Z that offers flyers an Uber like experience on private planes, is being accused of failing to play its employees overtime.

The lawsuit claims the start up regularly for employees to work over 65 hours a week, yet never compensated them with overtime.

As a result, JetSmarter received thousands of hours of free labor, at the comp at the employee’s expense.

The lawsuit claims JetSmarter has violated the Fair Labor Standards Act, and the plaintiffs are suing for back wages and pay.

Bill Cosby Wants To Motivate People After Sexual Assault Mistrial

(AllHipHop News) Bill Cosby is reportedly planning a motivational speaking tour after his sexual assault case was declared a mistrial at the weekend.

Montgomery County Judge Steven O’Neill announced the 12-member jury was “hopelessly deadlocked” on Saturday morning after spending over 50 hours deliberating on whether or not “The Cosby Show” star was guilty of the three counts of aggravated indecent assault brought against him by Andrea Constand.

Cosby reportedly feels vindicated by the result of the case and he now wants to warn men about the dangers of sexual assault allegations.

“Mr. Cosby wants to get back to work,” his spokesman Andrew Wyatt told Good Day Alabama. “We’re now planning town halls… sometime in July… to talk to young people because this is bigger than Bill Cosby.”

“This issue can affect any young person, especially young athletes of today, and they need to know what they’re facing when they’re hanging out and partying, when they’re doing certain things that they shouldn’t be doing,” he added. “And it also affects married men.”

Meanwhile, prosecutors have vowed they will retry the sex assault case against Cosby.

“We have made the determination of moving forward, and it lies in the fact she (Constand) deserves a verdict in this case… and we will push forward to try and get justice done,” prosecutor Kevin Steele said during a press conference shortly after the mistrial announcement was made.

On Thursday, it was revealed the deadlocked jurors voted to convict the comedian on two counts of sexual assault by a vote of 10 to two.

Cosby still faces several civil cases from a few of the nearly 60 women who have come forward in recent years, accusing him of decades-old sexual assault.

Jay-Z Vows To Continue To Fight For Justice and Civil Rights

(AllHipHop News) Hip-hop mogul Jay-Z has acknowledged the power of community in an uplifting column about his fight for social justice.

The “Dirt Off Your Shoulder” hitmaker has been advocating for civil rights and he is convinced society can become more equal if more people contribute to the cause.

“The power of one voice is strong, but when it comes to social justice, the power of our collective voices is unstoppable,” he wrote in a guest column for The Hollywood Reporter. “Now is the time to recognize that through our voices we really can effect change.

“Some of us will do the important work locally at the micro level to awaken our neighbors. Some of us will work for progress regionally. And a few of us will be like Kalief Browder, a modern-day prophet whose death two years ago started a discussion that continues today about how poor, black juveniles are treated in the criminal justice system.”

Browder committed suicide in 2015, two years after his release from infamous New York prison Rikers Island, where he was imprisoned for three years in solitary confinement without trial.

Kalief was just a teenager when he was first brought into the notoriously rough jail, and, before he took his own life, he spoke openly about the post-traumatic stress he suffered following his horrific experiences as a Rikers inmate.

Jay-Z teamed up with Hollywood heavyweight Harvey Weinstein to produce a docu-series about the tragic teen, called Time: The Kalief Browder Story, in an effort to transform America’s prison system.

He is also working with Weinstein on “Rest in Power: The Trayvon Martin Story,” a documentary about another black teen who was killed by a neighborhood watch volunteer in Florida in 2012.

“My hope is for my next documentary, ‘Rest in Power: The Trayvon Martin Story,’ to create a similar conversation that leads to change and helps keep our children safe,” he shared, “But social justice isn’t a political issue. It’s a human issue. It’s a story of empathy. When we are able to identify that we are all not perfect and have compassion for someone else, we can move forward as a society.”

Beyonce’s husband, real name Shawn Carter, ended his message with words of inspiration for fans, adding: “Look around at what’s happening in your town and your city right now. Think small, and you can do much bigger things.”

Fat Joe Heading To Rikers Island

(AllHipHop News) Rapper Fat Joe has returned to jail to mentor young inmates at New York’s notorious Rikers Island prison.

The “Lean Back” star, who served time behind bars on tax evasion charges in 2013, joined Fox 5 NY reporter Lisa Evers for the trip to Rikers, which will air as part of an episode of Street Soldiers on Friday (June 23).
The two outsiders met with Deputy Warden Freeman Williams and ex-inmate Leviticus Mitchell and spoke to inmates about new initiatives devised to help them get back to society after prison stints.

“I’ve heard a lot of horror stories about Rikers Island, and when Lisa had an opportunity… for us to be in front of the inmates and be with the Corrections Department and everybody get down to the root of the questions we have… What I’m looking for is authenticity,” Fat Joe says on camera in the episode.

Iggy Azalea Wants To End Her Feud With Azealia Banks

(AllHipHop News) Iggy Azalea has reached out to rap rival Azealia Banks in a bid to end their long-running feud.

The two women have been snapping back and forth for the past six years, with Banks lashing out at the “Fancy” star for adopting African-American speak and cultural symbols even though she’s a white Australian.

The feud reached its height at the beginning of last year, when Iggy insisted she and the “212” rapper “don’t like each other on a personal level.”

Her comments only incensed Azealia, who took aim at her rival’s plastic surgery procedure, tweeting: “No one is talking about you so you choose to mention me… Wrong move h##… Mentioning me is the only thing that will get you attention. Because ur (sic) music and nose job are trash.”

Banks further taunted Iggy by sampling her song “My World” for her hit “Used to Being Alone.”

The two rappers haven’t snapped at each other for months and now Iggy wants to end the feud for good, noting they share the same star sign.

In a lengthy message on Snapchat, she writes: “Call me crazy but girl, I don’t hate you. I don’t know you to hate you. I believe you may want to meet me in person so you can steal a lock of my hair and cast a spell hoping I die (lol) I don’t agree with many of your opinions but honestly, at times I empathize with you as a creative Gemini woman.”

“I wish you had spoken to me before deciding I was out to get you when we first came on the scene,” she adds, “but that’s also typical Gemini reaction s##t (I get it). As a 27 year old adult woman just know: I wish you well from one human to another and joke collaboration or not as adults we should move past trivial beef with strangers.”

The two stars first fell out in 2012, when Banks voiced her disagreement over XXL magazine’s choice of Azalea as the lone female rapper on its annual Freshman cover.

Banks has since responded to Iggy’s Snapchat post, stating she’s hoping to “have an open discussion about this” with the Aussie, adding, “I feel America and the world could really benefit from some candid discourse between two public figures about the world’s biggest sickness, racism.”

Kevin Powell Files Lawsuit Claiming “All Eyez On Me” Creators Stole His Interviews

(AllHipHop News) A new lawsuit over certain parts of the script of the “All Eyez On Me” movie could derail the future success of the film.

Journalist/political activist Kevin Powell has filed a lawsuit against the directors of “All Eyez On Me,” claiming producers used his copyrighted interviews in Vibe magazine, without his permission.

Kevin claims a significant portion of the “All Eyez On Me” movie co-ops the interviews he did with Tupac at Clinton Correctional Facility, where the rapper was held in 1995, after being convicted of sexual assault charges.

“After a great deal of thought and consultation with many, including my attorneys, I have filed a federal lawsuit against the producers and writers of ‘All Eyez On Me’, the new Tupac Shakur biopic, for copyright infringement. After viewing the movie twice in the past few days, it is clear that my exclusive Vibe cover stories on Tupac Shakur (when he was alive), were lifted, without proper credit or compensation of any kind to me, and used in ‘All Eyez On Me.’ As the owner of the copyright to these articles, ‘All Eyez On Me’ infringed on my rights by using content and narrative that was exclusive to my writings.”

They even used Kevin’s likeness by using actor Hill Harper, who plays the journalist interviewing Tupac in prison during the movie.

“I am seeking justice and a resolution in this matter that is fully fair to me and all the work I’ve done throughout the years, as an author and protector of the Tupac Shakur narrative,” Kevin Powell said.

Peep What The Conspiracy Theorists Think About Prodigy & Tupac!

(AllHipHop Rumors) A large amount of the conspiracy theorists are annoying, wrong, and reaching usually.

It’s so draining seeing some of them on the timeline day-to-day. LOL.

Anyway, there are some folks who think that it’s ironic that Mobb Deep’s Prodigy died during the same time frame of the release of Tupac’s biopic.

There has been a post floating round from a page called I Love Hip-Hop.

“#Tupac dissed #Prodigy in “Hit Em Up’ and made fun of his sickle cell. Prodigy dies from Sickle Cell complications during THE SAME WEEK the Tupac movie comes out. He also dies in the SAME CITY that Tupac was murdered in. Coincidence or no?” posted the page.

Hmmmmm do those details make it seem eerie, or is it a case of theorists doing the most and reaching again? What are your thoughts?

Gilbert Arenas Taunts Juvenile Over Child Support With A Remix

(AllHipHop Rumors) While a significant amount of people think Gilbert Arenas is petty and ignorant on social media, he made people chuckle for sure with this one.

For the ’99 & the 2000 man! Gilbert is always living up to his Instagram handle, and he’s back at it again with the lack of chill.

The former NBA star turned his reaction to Juvenile being arrested for over $150,000 in child support into a remix of the rapper’s#### “Ha”.

“You gotta go too court (HA) you got served with a subpoena for child support (HA) that was they nerve (HA) you ain’t even get a chance to say a word (HA)….I know you just ain’t gonna let THE COURTS come and punk (HA) stunt and front ya (HA) str8 up run you (HA) ????? @juviethegreat that ho don’t know when to shut up her mouth (HA) YOU GONNA KNOCK THAT HO TEETH OUT (HA) ?????? child support taking over FROM the 99 into the 2000’s,” posted Arenas.

I can’t lie it was hilarious but someone needs to take his phone. At times I think his antics are worse than 50 Cent’s! Isn’t it ironic that Juve referenced child support in the song?!

Is Nicki Minaj’s Team Trying To Rig Her A BET Awards Win?

(AllHipHop Rumors) Welllll it looks like Nicki Minaj feels like she has some competition this year, or she just wants to continue to be petty towards Remy Ma.

Nicki has won the Best Female Hip Hop awards for the last 5-6 years, and rightfully so. I mean it’s crazy that the girl literally had no competition. Man I miss when females had a heavy presence in Hip Hop.

Anyway, word on the curb is that Nicki’s team is trying to “rig” the BET Awards so that she wins the ‘Best Female Hip Hop Artist’ award.

By rig, I guess they mean make sure she wins again. The other nominees are Remy Ma, Young M.A., Cardi B, and Missy Elliott.

I can’t see BET agreeing to this, and they have a true voting system in place anyway. I also couldn’t see them agreeing to this because Nicki has been very shady towards the award show.

She took to Instagram to announce that the only awards show she would be attending this month would be the NBA Awards, which she happens to be performing at.

“My darlings, this is the ONLY award show I’ll be attending this month. Set your DVR’s. You won’t want to miss this PERFORMANCE ? #NBAAwards hosted by @champagnepapi ? NEW YORK!!!!! ??,” said Nicki.

That’s ALL SHADE because everyone knows that the BET Awards is this month also.

Welp, who do you think deserves to win the category this year? Should Nicki win again?
