Anyway, some of you may not remember Danny Boy, but he was one of the singers that was down with Death Row back in the day. He was somewhat of a big deal, especially when he worked with Tupac.

Remember this:

Well! Tonight Danny Boy announced he is going to sue Tupac’s estate for something. I have no idea. But he’s revealed that he was never signed to Death Row Records. He probably didn’t get paid for singing. I guess, we have to see what’s next, eh? But $7 million? #comeonfam

On a side note, there was a Suge Knight sighting tonight. LOL!

Stars Were Told In Advance To Stay Away From Ja Rule’s Fyre Festival

(AllHipHop News) Acts including Migos and Major Lazer were told to stay away from the disastrous Fyre Festival, a new lawsuit brought against its organizers alleges.

The Bahamas-based festival, billed as a lavish event where fans could mingle with the stars, was abandoned in chaos last month after festival goers arrived to discover luxury accommodation was non-existent and infrastructure was incomplete.

The new complaint, filed in Manhattan federal court on Tuesday by attendees Sean Daly and Edward Ivey, is the seventh brought against festival organizers Billy McFarland and Ja Rule.

It alleges that McFarland and Ja Rule were aware the festival was unlikely to go ahead as planned and told performers not to fly in, but neglected to inform ticket holders.

The lawsuit reads, “When Defendants (McFarland, Ja Rule, and Mcfarland’s company Fyre Media) became aware before the start of the festival that it would not actually happen, they notified the scheduled performers and certain festival employees not to fly out for the event.”

In addition to Migos and Major Lazer, other acts signed up to perform at the event included Tyga, Pusha T, Desiigner and Blink-182.

Blink-182 pulled out of the event at short notice stating they were, “Not confident that we would have what we need to give you the quality of performances we always give fans.”

Daly and Ivey’s lawsuit also alleges organizers kept inviting attendees to spend money on VIP packages and to add funds to cashless payment accounts after it became clear the event would not go ahead.

Their lawyers claim McFarland and Ja Rule’s actions are a violation of New York state business law.

John Legend Wants To Teach Prisoners Business Skills

(AllHipHop News) John Legend has launched a new initiative aimed at providing prison inmates with business opportunities.

The “Ordinary People” singer announced plans for his Unlocked Futures investment fund at Town & Country magazine’s annual philanthropy summit in New York City earlier this week.

John explained how he had partnered with social innovation charity New Fund and Bank of America to start the fund for ex-prisoners.

“We are doing this project, which is a social venture fund, with New Profit and Bank of America, and its purpose is investing in business and nonprofit ideas for people who have been incarcerated,” he told U.S. Senator Cory Booker, who interviewed him for the publication.

The 38-year-old told the politician that he felt those with criminal records struggled to find employment and that he wanted to provide funding for them to start businesses and community projects.

“We know that if they’re not working in the legitimate economy, then a lot of times they are going to be working in the illegitimate economy, and they’ll end up back in prison,” he explained. “So, one of the things we have been focused on is developing ways to encourage entrepreneurship in those communities, so that these people have an opportunity to start their own businesses, start their own nonprofits, and start contributing to the community instead of being dependent on another employer to hire them.”

The musician’s new venture is not the first time he’s helped America’s prison population; in 2015 he launched #FREEAMERICA, a campaign proposing reform of the U.S. criminal justice system.

Robbers Had Planned To Jack Kim Kardashian On An Earlier Trip To Paris

(AllHipHop News) The armed robbers who attacked Kim Kardashian in Paris last year previously scrapped plans to target the reality star after discovering she was traveling with her husband Kanye West.

The mother-of-two was bound, gagged, and robbed at gunpoint in October when a group of masked men stormed her private hotel suite in the French capital and stole millions of dollars’ worth of jewelry and electronics.

Police officials have since charged 10 suspects in connection to the crime, and during their investigation, it was revealed the same gang had planned to pull off the robbery during one of Kim’s earlier visits to Paris, but called off the raid when it became clear she wouldn’t be alone.

Kim learned of the prior plans during her meeting with French prosecutors and a judge in New York in February, when she gave them her side of the story, and she later shared the information with her mother, Kris Jenner, in scenes filmed for their family reality show “Keeping Up With the Kardashians.”

In a preview of this weekend’s (May 14) U.S. episode, Kim talks her mom through the process of her testimony, which lasted eight hours.

“So they showed me pictures of all of them (robbers)…,” she explains. “I think it was really interesting to see the faces of everyone – just by their height and weight, I could tell who from this line-up was in the room with me (at the time of the heist). I was able to see who confessed… They were pretty honest and did tell most of the story exactly how it happened.”

She continues, “It’s really interesting to see what their side of the story is. And to hear the background information of how they had been following me, and how they attempted to rob me the last time I was in Paris but my husband was with me.”

Kim, 36, did not share exactly when her previous visit to Paris with Kanye had taken place in the teaser footage.

The revelation emerges after Kim admitted the terrifying ordeal had left her with trust issues which makes her constantly feel “on edge.”

During last weekend’s (May 7) episode of “Keeping Up With the Kardashians,” she said of the attack, “It definitely opened up my eyes to a whole different world that I can’t erase – I can’t go backwards. Life is always going to be different. Now I just have to be super aware of everything that I do and who I share it with.”

Does Cassidy Believe He’s Better Than Drake & Kanye West!

Cassidy has made it clear that he is not here for the new generation of garbage mumble rappers. He’s also not here for the artists that use ghostwriters.

Although Cassidy expresses that ghostwriting isn’t a novel thing in Hip Hop, he still feels like you can’t be a top rapper if you use a ghostwriter.

Cassidy recently sat down with DJ Vlad and let it be known that Drake and Kanye West couldn’t be on his Top 10 list [if he had one] because they don’t write all of their own rhymes.

What’s hilarious is the fact that Cassidy said some of these cats have ghostwriters but still end up with trash bars!

“Only the blind was shocked with that though. Only the blind that’s sitting here thinking that these dudes really write all of this sh-t and it be trash anyway. But they still not responsible for writing it all. It’s like that sh-t been going on since the beginning of time,” said Cassidy.

When asked if he would put Ye and Drake in his top 10 Cassidy replied by saying,

“Nah. Nope. I don’t even got a top ten though. You asking the wrong person. My top 10 is going to be all me.”

Sy Ari Da Kid Addresses Signing With Birdman’s Cash Money Records Amid Lil Wayne Controversy

(AllHipHop News) Cash Money Records has gained the standing as being one of the most successful Hip Hop labels in history.

The company has also earned a reputation for not paying artists and producers.

Lil Wayne’s ongoing battle with Cash Money is the most famous case of a signee feeling financially slighted by the imprint.

The New Orleans native had to file a lawsuit against his longtime label home in an attempt to receive back revenue.

Despite the Cash Money’s legal issues with Wayne and others, founders Bryan “Birdman” Williams and Ronald “Slim” Williams are still able to sign new talent to the roster.

One of those fresh acts to join Cash Money is Atlanta-based rhymer Sy Ari Da Kid.

The 2 Soon album creator addressed his willingness to join CMR on his song “Wire Transfer From Birdman.”

“I wanted to separate myself from all this gossip by addressing the elephant in the room, everybody wants to know, ‘does Birdman pay up?’ from all the drama with Lil Wayne (who is one of my favorite rappers),” states Sy Ari about the record. “Since I just signed to Cash Money this is my side of the story, all facts no diss.”

The video for “Wire Transfer” features an appearance by Birdman and a Rick Ross look-a-like.

Ross was a target in the clip because he called out Birdman on his Rather You Than Me track “Idols Become Rivals.”

Frank Ocean Cancels Another Big Headlining Slot

(AllHipHop News) Frank Ocean has pulled out of a headlining slot at Hangout Festival.

The hip-hop star was scheduled to perform a Friday night set at the event in Gulf Shores, Alabama on May 19 but has canceled the gig due to production problems.

“Due to production delays beyond his control Frank Ocean will be unable to perform,” organizers of Hangout Festival stated in a message posted on Twitter. “He passes on his apologies & hopes to return to AL (Alabama) soon.”

The explanation was the same as the one given by the organizers of the Sasquatch! Festival in George, Washington, when he pulled out of a May 26 set at their event.

French band Phoenix will fill Frank’s Hangout headline slot, while LCD Soundsystem will replace him at the Washington festival.

Representatives for the WayHome, Northside, Flow and Way Out West festivals, where Frank, 29, is scheduled to play this summer reported that the “Swim Good” musician was still planning to perform.

Poor Lil Bow Wow: Chris Brown & Trey Songz Roast Lil Homie!

Fans weren’t the only one’s giving Bow Wow the side eye during his recent press run.

Bow Wow has been relentlessly roasted for days now after stunting like he was taking a private jet when he was really on a commercial flight.

As if that wasn’t enough he went on to take credit for Chris Brown, Trey Songz, Omarion, and Ciara’s careers as he claims he put them on with the Scream Tour.

“They wouldn’t even know half of these guys that they love today if it wasn’t for us creating that platform. We put Trey Songz on his first tour ever. I put Omarion on his first tour ever. I put Chris Brown on his first tour ever which was the Scream Tour. Ciara first tour was that. Not to say they owe me anything, but I love to put people in positions to watch them succeed,” said Bow Wow.

Here’s the issue, no one takes anything Bow Wow says serious, and regardless if the Scream Tour was a great platform or not, it’s safe to say Bow Wow was reaching by taking responsibility for these artists’ careers.

If I’m not mistaken, these artists had a name for themselves before the tour, and they would’ve had one with or without it.

I’m sure the tour aided to some degree with their careers, but fans went in on Bow saying that this wasn’t the launching pad for the artists.

As if the #BowWowChallenge wasn’t entertaining enough, Chris Brown and Trey Songz responded to Bow’s claims in their own funny ways on Instagram.

“Someone take Bow’s phone,” said Chris Brown.

Drake May Be Off The Hook In Baby Mama Scandal Because Of This Rapper

In Leaked Audio, Fyre Festival Organizer Tells Employees They Won’t Be Getting Paid

(AllHipHop News) The fallout from the dreadful Fyre Festival continues.

After the fest’s organizers Jeffrey “Ja Rule” Atkins and Billy McFarland have been hit with several lawsuits, even more controversy is now surrounding the ill-fated event.

Vice News has released leaked audio of McFarland telling Frye Media employees they will not be receiving payments from the company.

The site reports:

On Friday, Billy McFarland, the 25-year-old founder of the disastrous Fyre Festival, told his shell-shocked employees that their paychecks covering the past two weeks would not be coming. Nor would he be firing them, a prerequisite for unemployment benefits in most states. Instead, McFarland offered to allow his dozen-or-so employees to stay on in unpaid roles, where they could work to grow the business to a place where they might get paid again.

The conversation also included an employee asking McFarland if there should be any concern about an FBI investigation.

“I don’t know. I think that’s an individual thing,” replied McFarland.

The FBI has reportedly declined to comment on whether the agency is investigating Fyre Media.

Ja Rule was on the conference call, but the rapper was mostly listening.

Nas Teams With Jack White To Cover Blues Song For ‘American Epic’ Documentary (VIDEO)

(AllHipHop News) American Epic, a three-part Robert Redford-narrated documentary, will explore the history of early 1900’s music.

“American Epic is a love letter to the United States. It’s the story of one of the great moments in American history – when the voices of working people, minorities, and rural people throughout the country were first heard,” explains director Bernard MacMahon. “It celebrates all I admire about the country – its rich culture, technological innovation.”

He adds, “It celebrates all I admire about the country – its rich culture, technological innovation, entrepreneurism and its freedom of speech.”

Hip Hop legend Nas is among the modern-day musicians who appear in the series.

In one scene, the New Yorker teams up with The White Stripes rocker Jack White to record Memphis Jug Band’s “On The Road Again” from 1928.

“This is not high society black folks. This is the down under, street wild black folks that they’re singing about,” states Nas about the band. “It’s the same as today. It’s the same as rap music today.”

American Epic premieres May 16 on PBS.

The American Epic Sessions is scheduled to air on June 6 at 8 p.m.

Jay Z Wants Fragrance Company To Run Him His Coins!

(AllHipHop Rumors) Welp, Jay Z’s fragrance deal certainly stinks at the moment!

Jay Z and fragrance company, Parlux, have been at each other’s throats as they both claim that the opposite party has breached the contract.

Hov is claiming that he hasn’t been paid his royalties from the company in two years despite the fact that the company has continued to make profit off of the fragrance that bears his trademark!

According to Bossip, both Jay Z and Parlux are playing the blame game. Parlux claims that Jay Z was supposed to post about the fragrance on social media as well as do promotional appearances, but when it came time for Jigga to do Good Morning America, Macy’s and Women’s Wear Daily, he declined the appearances.

The fragrance company claims that Jay Z blew off several meetings, and consequently new fragrances were never launched. Instead of the $50 million in sales they planed to make, unsold inventory was actually being returned from stores causing them to sue Hov for $18 million.

According to Jay, Parlux are the ones who actually breached the contract.

Jay has accused the company of failing to make required payments or devote the required resources and money to promote his fragrance.

With the deal that they had in place he would’ve made $750,000 for the first year and by the fifth year he would receive $1.75 million. Jay decided to sue for $1.5 mil in past due royalties.

Welp Jay wants his royalties, and Parlux seems to believe they can rightfully withhold them. Man business sure gets messy. I wonder in whose favor will the judge rule.

T.I. Calls Out Donald Trump For Being A Hypocrite About Stephen Colbert’s Joke

(AllHipHop News) T.I. is not afraid to speak out against Donald Trump.

The Grand Hustle leader has defended Congressman John Lewis and Snoop Dogg against Twitter attacks by the president.

TMZ caught up with T.I. to get his thoughts about Trump’s recent clapback at The Late Show‘s Stephen Colbert.

In response to the CBS host calling him Russian President Vladimir Putin’s “c### holster,” Trump described Colbert as having “no talent” and his words as “filthy.”

During his quick interview, T.I. called out Trump for being a hypocrite for his statements about Colbert.

“Sounds like he was referencing himself in politics. He has gone on record as saying the filthiest things I’ve heard said, or the filthiest thing I’ve ever heard someone in his position say,” responded Tip. “To cast that light on someone else when it’s really a reflection of you, I think they call that hypocrisy.”

Some of Trump’s controversial public statements include suggesting former Fox News debate moderator Megyn Kelly was on her period, mocking a disabled reporter, and the infamous Access Hollywood tape where the then-reality show star declared he liked to grab women by the p-ssy.

Trump was also heard numerous times using expletives throughout his campaign for president.

Bryson Tiller has the whole world patiently waiting for his much-anticipated upcoming album “True To Self,” after delivering a near-classic debut with “T R A P S O U L” in 2015. Good news for fans, Tiller returned with 3 new records yesterday and even revealed the project’s artwork + official release date.

He first posted a new NES-produced track titled “Honey” on his Soundcloud, followed by another solo record, “Somethin Tells Me” and then “Get Mine” featuring Young Thug. If these 3 records indicate what we can expect on the LP, it’s safe to say we won’t have to worry about a “sophomore flop” from Tiller.
