Nicki Minaj Brushes Off Nas Dating Rumors

(AllHipHop News) Nicki Minaj has played down rumors she is dating fellow rapper Nas after sharing a photo of the pair enjoying dinner at his new Los Angeles restaurant.

The “Anaconda” hitmaker, real name Onika Maraj, took to Instagram on to post a snap of the two sitting side by side at Nas’ fried chicken eatery Sweet Chick.

“Only KINGS recognize QUEENS,” she captioned the image, in which they both pose with their eyes closed, while Nas appears to nuzzle Nicki’s hair as he wraps his arm around her shoulders.

They also rocked the same diamond-studded chain.

“@sweetchicklife has the best food,” she added. “congrats @nas”.

The “One Mic” MC shared the same photo on his Twitter account, and wrote, “Straight Outta Queens!”, giving a shout out to their shared home city of Queens, New York.

Fans immediately began speculating about a possible romance after the cozy picture appeared online, and devotees even coined a new nickname for the rumored couple, with “#NasNika” becoming a trending topic on Twitter.

However, Nicki, who split from rapper Meek Mill in December seems to be brushing off the new gossip.

One fan grabbed the star’s attention after sending a screenshot of Wednesday’s (May 10) hot topics to Nicki: “Trending # (number) 4 now on the charts @NICKIMINAJ yessss (sic),” wrote the follower, prompting the 34-year-old to repost the image and respond, “y’all so d##n silly (sic).”

Nas has yet to comment on the dating speculation.

He became an investor in chef John Seymour’s Sweet Chick chain in 2015, and helped owners secure funding to expand outside of their two New York City locations.

The Los Angeles branch launched last month.

Lending Company Wants An Insane Amount of Money Back From Ja Rule

(AllHipHop News) Things continue to get worse for Ja Rule, as the rapper is now the subject of his seventh lawsuit over the Fyre Festival.

According to the latest lawsuit, EHL Funding claims it lent Ja Rule and his partner Billy McFarland a whopping $3 million to help cover the costs of the festival, which took place on Great Exuma Island, in the Bahamas.

The pair received the loan on April 10, just days before the festival kicked off on April 28.

According to TMZ.com, Ja and his partner Billy McFarland were supposed to to be making payments on the loan until next year.

But after the disastrous turnout of the Fyre Festival, EHL claims they have not heard a peep from Ja Rule or Billy McFarland, much less received any payment.

EHL Funding claims Ja Rule and Billy McFarland have already defaulted on their loan, so they’ve called the whole note, with interest and penalties.

The rapper is facing six other lawsuits over the Fyre Festival, including one class action for $100 million dollars.

As of press time, Ja Rule hasn’t commented on the lawsuit, but he has posted some funny videos on Instagram.

DC Young Fly Sues Agent Over Lack Of Support For His Career

(AllHipHop News) John “DC Young Fly” Whitfield has gone from being an internet personality to starring on Wild ‘N Out and appearing in the movie Almost Christmas.

According to DC, his rise in the entertainment industry was done without much help from the agent he hired.

TMZ reports the Atlanta-raised comedian is now suing Archive Entertainment’s Bobby Patterson for not providing the support that was expected from the firm.

The suit claims a 2013 contract with Patterson included promises of record deals, movie/TV roles, and a line of merchandise.

However, DC says he was the one that secured his jobs and Patterson failed to cover certain expenses connected to his career.

The Archive Entertainment agreement supposedly gave Patterson 65% of DC’s record sales and an additional 35% for his merch sales or endorsement deals.

The host of Chris Brown’s “The Party Tour” is asking the court to void his deal and for Patterson to pay damages.

Last July, Deadline reported DC Young Fly signed with the ICM Partners talent agency.

Donald Glover To Produce Marvel’s Animated ‘Deadpool’ Series For FXX

The award-winning entertainer is already involved in doing stand-up comedy, making music, starring in the upcoming Han Solo movie, voicing Simba in a The Lion King remake, and creating the well-received television show Atlanta.

In addition, Glover is set to appear in Marvel’s Spider-Man: Homecoming.

THR reports the rapper also known as Childish Gambino and his brother Stephen Glover will lead an animated adult action-comedy version of Marvel Comic’s Deadpool as well.

The Glovers will write, executive produce, and serve as showrunners for the upcoming FXX series.

“Donald Glover is an incredibly gifted and versatile artist who’ll bring the untitled Marvel’s Deadpool series to life with the same intense, singular vision as his breakout hit Atlanta,” stated Nick Grad, the FX president of original programming.

Previously, Donald and Stephen worked together on Atlanta with the brothers writing various episodes of the comedy-drama.

The show took home honors at the Golden Globe Awards, Critics’ Choice Television Awards, NAACP Image Awards, Peabody Awards, and Writers Guild of America Awards.

Ten episodes of the Deadpool FXX series are set to premiere in 2018.

The live action film version of Deadpool made over $780 million at the worldwide box office, becoming the highest-grossing R-Rated movie in history.

Chilli Responds To The Backlash Over Her “All Lives Matter” Comments

(AllHipHop News) The surviving members of the R&B/Pop group TLC are currently on a press run to promote their self-titled comeback album.

While speaking with Channel 4 UK, TLC’s Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas responded to a question about the Black Lives Matter movement.

“I personally didn’t go to any marches or anything like that, but for me, all lives matter, you know what I mean?” said Chilli. “Because there is a time when different groups are targeted for different things, you know what I’m saying? So, I just think that just the whole what happened – police brutality – against these young black boys, all of that kind of stuff is wrong. Even if it was a Caucasian teen kid that this was happening to or whatever.”

The internet lit up as social media users blasted the singer for her statements.

So much so, that the backlash caused Chilli to disable the ability to leave comments on her Instagram posts.

The Shade Room received a statement from the 46-year-old Atlanta native, and she addressed the controversy.

“Of course Black Lives Matter and the killing of young black boys is heartbreaking to all of us,” Chilli stated. “Everyone knows I am a black mother of a black son so there is no way I could watch what’s happening and not be affected. That video was from an interview in London asking me about issues happening in the U.S. My response was inclusive of everyone, but not meant to undervalue the Black Lives Matter movement or to suggest police brutality against blacks is acceptable.”

The phrase “All Lives Matter” is viewed by many Black Lives Matter supporters as a dismissive response to BLM, because it promotes the idea that there should not be a focus on the issue of police brutality against black citizens because all lives matter, not just black lives.

In contrast, the Black Lives Matter movement tries to highlight the evidence which shows black lives do seem to matter less than white lives in the American criminal justice system.

Frank Ocean Pushes Back Against His Dad’s Defamation Lawsuit

Calvin Cooksey is suing his son for a Tumblr post where Ocean wrote about a time when his dad allegedly called a transgender waitress a f-ggot.

According to TMZ, Ocean is seeking to have the lawsuit dismissed.

The website reports:

Ocean claims his statements are true — and that’s all the defense he needs to fight his father’s defamation suit.

Ocean posted the Tumblr message following the mass shooting at an Orlando gay club in June of 2016.

Cooksey is reportedly seeking $14.5 million from the “Lens” performer.

50 Cent Laughs Off Burglary Attempt

(AllHipHop News) Rapper 50 Cent has joked about the trouble he is having selling off his Connecticut mansion after the property was targeted in a break-in.

Police arrested a Elwin Joyce on the grounds of the 52-room Farmington estate on Tuesday (May 9) and charged him with counts of second degree burglary, trespassing, criminal mischief and attempted larceny.

50 Cent was not at the sprawling pad at the time and nothing appeared to have been taken in the incident.

The “In Da Club” hitmaker has since taken the news in his stride and has laughed off the security breach in a post on Instagram.

He shared a report of the break-in on his social media page and cheekily captioned it: “What my house got robbed, I thought I sold that MF (motherf##ker).”

50, real name Curtis Jackson, purchased the home for $4.1 million from boxer Mike Tyson in 2003.

He initially placed it on the market in 2007 for $18.5 million after spending $10 million on renovations, and then tried to find a buyer again in 2015 following his bankruptcy filing.

The rapper, 41, was said to have offloaded the one-time party palace in March, 2016 for $8.5 million to a buyer who planned to turn it into an assisted living facility, but his representative clarified the claims, admitting that although there had been interest, no contracts had been signed and the property remained on sale.

The rap star and entrepreneur was discharged from his bankruptcy case earlier this year after paying back more than $22 million.

Mary J. Blige Can’t Trust Anyone With Her Career After Chicken Ad

(AllHipHop News) Mary J. Blige has learnt not to trust anyone else with her career after receiving public backlash over past decisions.

The singer is back to her best with 13th studio album Strength of a Woman, which she released last month, and with a fresh start has come a new perspective on her fame.

Discussing how she overcame various professional problems over the years, such as her 2012 Burger King advert being deemed racist, she told the Los Angeles Times:

“You know, it all boils down to me taking responsibility for my own career and not trusting people with it. Or making decisions for me. I didn’t know the Burger King commercial was going to turn into, ‘She’s singing about chicken.’

“I’d never seen so much hatred come from a career mistake. Then right after that it was the Foundation for the Advancement of Women Now (FFAWN) fraud and all the (stuff) that went down with that. It had nothing to do with me, but my name is on everything. Taxes, this and that. It was one thing after the next. It was all so negative.”

Mary’s charity, which she set up with businessman Steve Stoute, was hit with several lawsuits in 2012 and accused of various offenses such as withholding loan repayments.

While it was a difficult period for the “Family Affair” singer she saw it as a “wake-up call” to look after herself more, especially as her marriage to her manager Martin ‘Kendu’ Isaacs was also in a bad way.

Mary filed for divorce in July 2016. Her estranged husband is demanding Mary J. Blige’s estranged husband is demanding $130,000 in monthly spousal support.

“Everybody was scattering, including (my husband/manager), and left me by myself,” she recalled of the events that took place five years ago. “That let me know, ‘OK, I’ve got to really learn how to take care of Mary.’”

Tracy Morgan’s ‘Staying Alive’ Comedy Special To Premiere On Netflix (VIDEO)

Staying Alive comes after Morgan suffered a near fatal car accident in 2014.

A trailer for the comedy presentation features the former Martin and 30 Rock actor joking about his medical situation.

“When I came out the coma I was behaving erratically,” said Morgan. “The doctor told my wife, ‘Ms. Morgan, there’s brain trauma.’ My wife looked at the doctor and said, ‘Nah, that n-gga always been crazy.'”

Filmed at the Count Basie Theatre in Red Bank, New Jersey, the Netflix special covers Morgan’s recovery, the trials of family, and getting a second chance at life.

Tracy Morgan: Staying Alive is scheduled to premiere on May 16.

According to Industry On Blast, in a new forthcoming documentary, The D.O.C. says that Eazy-E was indeed a devil worshipper.

Industry On Blast took to Instagram to share what they claim are The D.O.C.’s exact words.

“WOW❗❗ Legendary #NWA member #TheDOC is now alleging that #EazyE was a devil worshipper! ? that illuminati ish!!! Here are his words! : “When I first got to California, back in f-ckin’ ’88, maybe ’87, I was sitting in the studio and playing at this little piano that was in this studio called Audio Achievements – where we did all the early N.W.A., Eazy-E sh-t. I was playing at this little piano and Eazy asked me if I wanted to go to this meeting. And to make a long story short, Eazy was [implying] that he was into this devil worshipping sh-t. … Now, I’m a young kid from Texas. What’s crazy is that Instagram personality Artemus Gordon has even decided to chime in and cosign the claims. Most folks don’t know who Artemus really is, but he is said to be a west coast OG that was around for a lot of shhhh that went down. At times different folks and celebrities come in his comments cosigning his claims though. He took to Instagram with a post of his own on the situation saying,

“I posted on this subject 5 years ago and now the D.O.C. backs what I witnessed with his own claims. You believe me now? Before his death, Eazy became a real deal devil worshipper as in evidence by the pentagon tattooed on his hand between his index finger and thumb. This is why he wore those gloves. In my opinion, I think he felt it added to his sinister image. He was trying to craft. Money, fame, and too much time on their hands can take a good dude (Eazy) and change him into something else. His forays into the occult/devil worship is why Bone Thugs started out with all that Ouija board stuff,” said Artemus.

Snoop Dogg Is Planning To Launch His Own Music Festival

(AllHipHop News) Rapper Snoop Dogg is interested in holding a festival in his father’s hometown of Mississippi.

The hip-hop star stopped in Magnolia, Mississippi over the weekend to meet with the city’s mayor Anthony Witherspoon and to hold a discussion about the feasibility of a hosting a new music festival, tentatively titled Snoop Fest.

“We always stop in New Orleans but we never book a show here (in Mississippi). We might as well do it ourselves because my booking agent just won’t do it,” he said, according to The Associated Press.

He explained that he visits Mississippi three or four times a year to visit family and he didn’t just want to put on a simple concert for locals, as he believes they deserve more.

“I want to do something so that everyone will get to see me,” he shared. “If I wanted to do a show and leave, I could’ve done that. I wanted to do something to make a mark here. I just wanted to make an impact on the people here because I know how much I mean to them.”

The 45-year-old plans to have blues, gospel and country acts on the first day and hip-hop and R&B on the second day, when he would close the festival.

“I think the first should have what the heritage of Mississippi is about and then the second day should be about the generation that took it to another level,” he continued.

He also hopes Mississippi natives such as Brandy Norwood and her singer brother Ray J, as well as rapper Soulja Boy, would come back to perform.

Witherspoon told the outlet they wanted to get the festival “done this year” but if that isn’t possible, they will “definitely” do it in 2018.

Now folks are speculating that the two might be dating!

Both of the Queens rappers were rocking matching chains, and that’s a little too matchy-matchy and close for some folks who are just friends right?

Nicki is probably still trying to send some kind of subliminal shot at Remy Ma still, and Nas swears he wasn’t the one who pulled “ShETHER”. Mmmmmmmm hmmmmmm Nas. Sure you weren’t. LOL.
