(AllHipHop News) Hip-hop star DJ Khaled has landed his first ever Billboard Hot 100 number one with his single “I’m the One.”

Bieber scores his fourth number one, while Lil Wayne earns his third.

Khaled’s track knocks Bruno Mars’ “That’s What I Like” off the top of the new countdown, while Luis Fonsi’s “Despacito,” which also features Bieber, rises to three.

Kendrick Lamar’s “Humble” and Ed Sheeran’s “Shape of You” round out the top five, respectively.

Meanwhile on the Billboard 200 album chart, Lamar remains at number one for a third week in a row with DAMN.

Gorillaz’s Humanz debuts in second spot, while Mary J. Blige’s Strength of a Woman comes in at number three.

Drake’s More Life and Ed Sheeran’s ÷ (divide) round out the top five, respectively.

Jay Z Headlines Massive Festival That Includes Nas, De La Soul, Migos and More

(AllHipHop News) Rap mogul Jay Z is returning to the stage in his native New York City to headline 2017’s The Meadows Music and Arts Festival.

The Empire State of Mind hitmaker will top the bill alongside rockers Red Hot Chili Peppers and the Gorillaz for the second annual event, which will take place at Citi Field in Queens from September 15 to 17.

Other performers include Run the Jewels, Nas, Future, TV on the Radio, Broken Social Scene, Erykah Badu, LL Cool J, Foster the People, De La Soul, Sleigh Bells, Big Boi, Migos, and M.I.A., among many others.

The Meadows Music and Arts Festival will also be streamed live on Jay Z’s Tidal music service.

The event launched in 2016, with The Weeknd, Chance the Rapper, Kygo, and Kanye West leading the line-up, but Kanye famously had to cut short his closing set on October 2, citing a “family emergency.”

It was subsequently revealed his wife, Kim Kardashian, had been bound, gagged, and robbed at gunpoint in Paris, France.

Broccoli City Festival Celebrates Health and Hip-Hop Culture

Credits: Antonice J.

The Broccoli City Music Festival has become a Washington, D.C. staple for healthy lifestyle initiatives, great music, and a good time with some of DC’s music executives, tastemakers, media pros, and creatives. Although the wind and rain showed up early for the show, in perfect Broccoli City Festival fashion, it did not keep the crowds away.

Attendees found hip-hop, lifestyle and black culture vendors, and food trucks spread throughout the park along with healthy living nonprofits, and companies there showcasing their products and message.

With a two-stage lineup that included Lil Yachty, Nick Grant, the beautiful Solange and the end of show finale Rae Sremmurd, the Broccoli City Fest was the place to be rain or shine.

While enjoying the show, AllHipHop got some time to connect with a few Hip Hop industry leaders, specifically M-1 of Dead Prez.

“Yea, it means a lot when you combine health, and wellness and Hip Hop culture. That’s what it’s all about.” Says, M-1. “Healthy lifestyle has been a part of me all of my life, even since the beginning of Dead Prez song, Be Healthy, where we talked about veganism early, we knew that a part of us continuing hip-hop, was also being healthy.”

M-1 also shared his partner and Dead Prez groupmate, Stic Man’s development of the new event in hip-hop called “The 10th Element of Hip-Hop, which happens to be health and wellness.

We also snagged a brief moment with Broccoli City Festival VP, Community, and Business Development, Darryl Perkins. We asked him about the mission behind Broccoli City Festival.

“We are trying to “redefine the cool” towards people being active and engaged participants in their community while creating a culture that celebrates and rewards people who are being active, says, Perkins. ”Traditionally and historically, music has moved people and this festival is a culmination of music, health, and wellness along with cultivating good vibes and love.”

Credits: Antonice J.

Perkins says that he would love to see this festival expand to multiple cities so that they can spread those good vibes and love from city to city. “Dropping broccoli bombs everywhere!”

In the league of some amazing talent, Nick Grant made his D.C. debut performing on the main Broccoli City stage. We got some words about his experience performing and attending Broccoli City Fest.

“I had a lot of fun, the crowd received the music very well, it was a lot of energy and to know I wrote all these songs in my room just to come out and see other people knowing all the words is priceless,” says Grant. “I like people, I like people walking up to me saying this record changed my life, or this record is dope, but it was also inspiring to see all of the other performers. I got to stand out in the crowd and show some appreciation for their work as well.”

When asked if he had any final words, Grant said to “stay passionate through all the BS and embrace all the negatives because the hard times make you who you are, they build your character.”

The Broccoli City Festival has found a great way to incorporate all of the many elements of Hip-Hip as not only just the music but a thriving culture and celebration of our blackness.

Safaree Probably Won’t Be Cheating Again Anytime Soon?

(AllHipHop Rumors) At some point you guys are going to learn to stop playing with people’s hearts! LOL.

Safaree is another person on the can’t seem to get right list. The guy seems to have terrible luck with women from Nicki Minaj, Miss Nikki Baby, the scammer nurse girl, to his latest, Star Divine.

At first it appeared that Safaree and Star decided to end their relationship respectfully, but then things suddenly took a turn!

Depending on who you ask, Star’s actions aren’t completely bad! LOL. Star allegedly found out that Safaree was cheating on her and decided to give away his stuff to the less fortunate. Oh yeah, she also live streamed the give away.

I guess he’ll know next time! Am I the only one that feels like cheating is not that deep to be acting out over? What would you do if your significant other gave away your belongings?

Kelis Is Judging A British TV Choir Competition

(AllHipHop News) R&B superstar Kelis is to head up the judging panel on British TV choir contest “Pitch Battle.”

The “Milkshake” musician, 37, will join choir master Gareth Malone as a permanent judge on the program, which is inspired by the singing competitions depicted in the Pitch Perfect films.

“It’s kind of nice when things come full circle,” she said in a statement issued by the show’s broadcaster BBC. “I started singing in the choir as a child so it’s always been something special to me. Now here I am 20 years later as a judge on ‘Pitch Battle.'”

Gareth, 41, and Kelis will be joined by a third guest judge each week, with Joe Jonas, Chaka Khan, Will Young and Bebe Rexha among the stars lined up to appear on the panel.

On the show, singing groups will compete in a series of challenges including ‘riff-offs’, a soloists challenge and an a capella round.

The ‘riff-offs’ are similar to the head-to-head singing battles featured in the “Pitch Perfect” movie franchise, whose third installment will open in cinemas in December.

“Pitch Battle” will air in the U.K. this summer with the singing groups battling to be crowned champions over the course of six episodes. (MWN/PR/SVB

Were Tupac & Tiny Almost An Item?

(AllHipHop Rumors) Tiny has always ben a transparent individual!

Sometimes folks seem to forget that Tiny Harris was poppin’ long before she met her soon-to-be ex-husband, rapper T.I. Tameka “Tiny” Harris already had a name and fame due to her being a member of the successful R&B group, Xscape.

Although no one thought they’d ever see an Xscape reunion in this lifetime, the girls have reunited and are gearing up to hit the road soon.

With Tiny and T.I.’s divorce process, much is being spilled out to the public. I mean everything from T.I.’s alleged side chick, Bernice Burgos, to now Tiny’s previous dealings with the late, great Tupac Shakur!

Xscape sat down for their first meeting in 20 years and took time to reminisce on the good ‘ol fun times. Kandi brought up a time when they had a water gun fight involving Tupac, while they were on tour with Salt N Pepa. Tiny chimed in hinting that she has a goodddddd amount of history with the legendary rapper!

“I have a lot of history with Tupac. But you know, not too much. It didn’t get that far, but it could have,” said Tiny!

Say whattttttttt? It could’ve been Tiny and Tupac instead of Tiny and Tip!?! Let me find out!

The 90s was one era to be an adult in period, and to think of all of the stories I’ve heard from the music artists from the period….mannnnnnnn.

Is Future The Michael Jackson Of Rap?

(AllHipHop Rumors) Future has certainly been one of the hottest rappers over the last few years, however we have to be careful at times with the praise we give.

Future has certainly had the wave, the sound, the hype, the following, the albums, but I wouldn’t say he is or ever will be the MJ of anything.

As you know, super producer Zaytoven and Future have had an incredible working relationship together over the years.

In a recent interview with Sway in the Morning, Zay compared Future’s creative process and output to that of the legendary Michael Jackson.

“In rap right now, Future is almost like Michael Jackson to me,” said Zaytoven!

Zaytoven clarified his comment by explaining that Future reminds him of Michael Jackson with the speed that Future is able to put out high-quality music.

What’s funny is the fact that sometimes with or without clarification, some folks can’t even get past the idea of even having Future and Michael Jackson’s name in the same sentence. LOL.

“When I watch Future record and his process and what he do over and over again, he’s just super great. I don’t think nobody can compete with what he does. Like somebody can be amazed at watching me go in and make a beat in ten minutes and be like, ‘Damn man that was amazing.’ I’m watching him do that in the studio over and over and over again. I give him beats that I’m like, ‘Dang that beat really ain’t all that, I don’t like it.’ [He’ll say], ‘Pull that up. Every beat you give me, pull it up, I’m about to go through them.’ And when you hear what he puts to it and how he approaches it and what it sounds like when it’s done, I don’t know anybody else that can do that. ‘I don’t care what the beat sound like, pull it up, and I’ma turn your beat into a hit.’ Like I didn’t even like that beat, now it’s my favorite beat I ever did,” said Zaytoven.

Is Lonzo Ball Trying His Luck With Rap?

(AllHipHop Rumors) For some reason the athletes always want to be the rappers and the rappers always want to be the athletes.

Well it looks like Lonzo Ball is trying to take over the Hip Hop game because he certainly won’t be taking over the sneaker game anytime soon. LOL.

Lonzo has decided to rap under the stage name of ZO2 which is the same name as his sneaker…….well because branding duh!

The funny thing is dude isn’t terrible, but he isn’t great either. I certainly wouldn’t listen again.

Ball freestyles over a beat from Drake’s “Free Smoke”. Well take a listen and let us know if you think he’ll have a promising career off the court in music. LOL.

You know next week LaVar Ball will be comparing him to the likes of Tupac, and Kendrick Lamar. SMH. Carry on!

Jordan Peele Makes History As “Get Out” Pulls In Huge Amounts of Money

(AllHipHop News) Jordan Peele has made history as the first African-American writer/director to cross $200 million at the box office with his film “Get Out.”

The “Key & Peele” star wowed critics and fans alike with his horror film directorial debut and the acclaimed movie has passed another milestone by earning $200 million at the global box office.

The movie’s earnings now sit at $204.3 million worldwide, after hitting the milestone on Sunday. The film is now $3 million away from passing the record for the highest-grossing debut from an African-American director.

Clark Johnson’s 2003 film “S.W.A.T.” currently holds the record, according to TheWrap.com.

The box office news comes a few days after it was revealed that Jordan signed an exclusive first-look production deal with bosses at Universal Pictures.

“Through extraordinary imagination and fearless humor, Jordan has proven himself to be a game-changer who is driven to tell stories that are as commercially entertaining as they are disruptive and provocative,” Universal chairman Donna Langley wrote in a statement released to The Hollywood Reporter. “The entire Universal family takes great pride in his incomparable filmmaking debut, and feel fortunate that this studio will be Jordan’s home for many years to come.”

Peele is following up “Get Out” with a social thriller in the vein of his racial horror picture, which was made with a production budget of only $4.5 million.

He will write, direct and produce the project under his Monkeypaw Productions banner.

Jordan’s forthcoming project will have a budget about five times that of “Get Out” and he is looking to put the extra funds to good use.

“I am thrilled to continue the work we started together on ‘Get Out’ – pushing the boundaries of storytelling, not only on the next film but with all of Monkeypaw’s future projects,” Peele said of his new deal.

Beyonce Shades Dad To Hades!

Image result for beyonce gif

(AllHipHop Rumors) I am not sure what Matthew Knowles did to Beyonce, but it must have been horrific. I know dude helped make B and Destiny’s Child mega stars, but then the family ties were broken. Homie cheated on Mama Tina and then had a baby out of that union. I think Bey has not forgiven him.

But the word on the street is that Beyonce will not let GrandPapa Knowles in to see the twins when they are born. I have never had kids. I don’t know ff that is some kind of stressful trauma, but he is rumored to be banned from the delivery room. Also, according to rumors, there is word that Bey is nervous about Mathew Knowles showing up unannounced.

What did he do? I know he cheated…but damn! Oh wait! The other thing is they are saying Mama Knowles Tina is running the whole show. Even Jay knows to fall back!

Sorry for the headline.

Big Boi’s Camp Pushes Back Against Claims The Rapper Bailed On Georgia Concert

(AllHipHop News) A promoter has accused Big Boi of taking a $40,000 deposit without showing up to the concert, according to TMZ.

The website reports:

James Griffin tells TMZ he booked the Outkast rapper for $80k to headline his Freaknik festival in Sylvania, GA and wired half the fee to his manager.

About 20 days out, James says Big Boi’s manager complained about the rest of the lineup and mentioned the rapper might not show if other big artists didn’t join the bill. James says he booked rapper Dae Dae just to make them happy.

A flyer for The 2017 Freaknik shows the festival was supposedly planned for April 29, 2017.

Big Boi’s camp apparently informed Griffin the OutKast member would not perform unless the date of the event was changed.

They are said to be looking to make up the performance at a later date.

Griffin is reportedly not interested in a re-do, and he is considering suing the Atlanta-based rapper for the $40,000 advance.

Big is currently preparing to release his third solo LP.

The Boomiverse album is expected to feature Gucci Mane, Killer Mike, Jeezy, Travis Scott, Kurupt, Janelle Monáe, and Adam Levine.

LISTEN: Meek Mill Can’t Resist Dissing Drake In New Songs

(AllHipHop News) Meek Mill has reignited his feud with Drake by slamming the rapper in new songs.

In July, Mill clashed with the rapper after suggesting Drake has others pen his rhymes, and the attack sparked a war of words between the rap stars.

The “Started From the Bottom” hitmaker was widely considered by fans to have emerged victorious in the feud after launching two diss tracks taking aim at Mill, who failed to bring forth any song in response at first.

Meek Mill, real name Robert Williams, has now gone after Drake in three new songs titled “$lay,” “Backboard,” and “Left Hollywood,” which he released on his 30th birthday on Saturday.

“Back in this b##ch and you know we reloaded/ Look at the credits to tell you who wrote it,” he raps in “$lay.”

“Maybe I’ll sell if I rap and I lie/ Maybe I’ll sell if I let n##gas write it,” he adds.

In “Left Hollywood,” he references Drake’s More Life album.

“Go to war like we got like four lives/ Talking before like, all this little rap s##t/ Where I’m from if you turn 18, then that’s More Life for real n##ga.”

Williams also seemingly hits out at ex-girlfriend Nicki Minaj over her feud with rapper Remy Ma.

“I’m on the roof with that scope/ When I hit them little b**ches like Remy my n##ga.”

Drake and Nicki have yet to comment on the tracks, but earlier this year they reunited in the studio to record “No Frauds,” a diss track which took aim at Remy Ma.
