Singer Caught In Mary J. Blige Divorce Drama Denies Affair With Kendu

(AllHipHop News) Mary J. Blige’s former protegee has firmly denied allegations suggesting she is the other woman at the center of the superstar’s divorce drama.

The “Real Love” hitmaker split from her manager husband Martin ‘Kendu’ Isaacs last summer after 12 years of marriage, and she has since revealed she filed for divorce after discovering he had reportedly been cheating with another woman.

Multiple sources alleged the mistress was singer/songwriter Starshell, who was previously signed to Blige’s Matriarch Record company, and Mary confirmed the speculation herself in her candid documentary “The Making Of: Strength Of A Woman,” which aired in the U.S. on Tuesday.

The VH1 show chronicled the development of her new album, “Strength Of A Woman,” and in one clip, Mary made it very clear to her collaborator Ne-Yo she wanted nothing to do with Starshell, branding the 28-year-old her “Becky with the good hair,” referring to the mistress Beyonce famously sings about on her Lemonade album break-up track “Sorry.”

Discussing the breakdown of her marriage, she said, “All these years have come to this, like you didn’t even pick me, you picked somebody else. That s**t is humiliating. It hurt real bad (sic).”

“And just so we’re clear…,” Mary warned Ne-Yo, “do not let her (Starshell) anywhere near what you’re doing for me (new music), because she’s the reason for all of this s**t. That’s my Becky with the good hair!”

However, Starshell, real name LaNeah Menzies, insists the accusations of an affair with Isaacs are “absolutely not true,” according to the New York Post’s Page Six column.

Isaacs, who is currently fighting for spousal support from Mary, has yet to comment on the explosive documentary.

J. Cole Discusses Uplifting Final Scene From His ‘4 Your Eyez Only’ Documentary (VIDEO)

(AllHipHop News) J. Cole decided to share his HBO documentary 4 Your Eyez Only for free on the Dreamville YouTube channel.

The film ended with Cole’s conversation with a 52-year-old woman about her positive spirit after losing two of her children in tragic situations.

In a separate video uploaded to YouTube, the North Carolina native reflects on that moment from his doc while speaking at Southern University.

“That’s already a tragedy I can’t relate to, and I’m looking at this lady. She’s strong. She’s beautiful. She’s glowing. Her spirit is bright, and she done went through a tragedy like that,” said Cole. “I’m like, ‘Okay, that’s amazing first of all.'”

Cole asked the woman how is she able to stay positive after her 19-year-old son and 14-year-old daughter were both killed in separate incidents.

“She just said, ‘I feel like God sent me here for a purpose, so everything happens for a reason,'” recalled the “Everybody Dies” rhymer. “She was like, ‘All I can do is look forward. Life goes on.’ She hit me with God right off the bat.”

Cole told the SU students, “All of that to say, God ended up putting me right here. I didn’t know I was coming here today. I didn’t know we were gonna do all that. So I look at that as a blessing. And therefore, I look at y’all as a blessing.”

Logic Explains Calling Out Donald Trump & Kanye West On “America” (VIDEO)

(AllHipHop News) Logic returned this week with his third studio album Everybody.

One song on the project has the Maryland rapper expressing his issues with Donald Trump and Kanye West.

Logic raps on “America”:

George Bush doesn’t care about black people
2017 and Donald trump is the sequel so
Sh-t, I’ll say what Kanye won’t
Wake the f-ck up and give the people what they want
Man it’s all love but the youth is confused
Your music is 2020 but them political views
Is blurred I ain’t trying leave ya name slurred
Cuz honestly I idolize you on everything, my word
But I gotta say what need be said
Cuz I ain’t f-ckin with that hat with the colors that’s white and red
I know some people wish I’d act white instead
Say I’d use my pigment as a manifestation to get ahead

Kanye famously announced during a concert rant that he would have voted for Trump, and the G.O.O.D. Music founder later met with the President-Elect in New York City before the Inauguration.

Logic sat down with Genius to talk about his intent behind the lyrics on “America.”

“I love Kanye West. He’s my idol. He’s like one of my favorite musicians of all time,” said Logic.

The Def Jam recording artist added, “My idol has inspired me to stand up to even him… I don’t know what the f-ck you’re doing, man. I just don’t understand. I respect you. I love you. I care about you, and because of that I have to say apparently what you won’t.”

Logic’s “America” also features Chuck D, Black Thought, No I.D., and Big Lenbo.

Former Exec Sues BET Over “Misogynistic Culture” Allegedly Fostered By Stephen Hill

(AllHipHop News) In March, there were a lot of headlines about the exit of longtime Black Entertainment Television executive Stephen Hill.

However, the turnover at the Viacom-owned cable network also included the dismissal of Zola Mashariki, the one-time Head of Original Programming at BET.

Mashariki has since filed a lawsuit in California federal court.

She alleges there was blatant gender discrimination at the company.

Mashariki’s complaint names Viacom, BET, and Hill as defendants.

“The Company fosters a good old boys’ club atmosphere and mentality that are hostile to women and their advancement,” reads the suit. “This misogynistic culture, which marginalizes, demeans, and undervalues women, begins at the top of the corporate structure.”

Mashariki also claims a senior executive at BET suggested she was faking her breast cancer diagnosis.

“These false and reprehensible statements caused irreparable damage to Ms. Mashariki by suggesting that she was a liar attempting to avoid the duties of her office,” states the complaint.

The Dartmouth College and Harvard Law School graduate called out Hill’s supposed actions in particular, “Defendant Hill has been permitted to systematically discriminate against and harass numerous women. He is protected by the Company’s old boys’ club and HR department.”

The complaint adds, “Defendant Hill announced he was leaving BET on March 29, 2017, while Ms. Mashariki was on leave. Upon information and belief, Defendant’s Hill’s contract was terminated. Between February 9 and March 29, Viacom and BET went from supporting Defendant Hill to terminating him. This is likely because Defendant Hill’s performance suffered when he could no longer appropriate and take credit for Ms. Mashariki’s work while she was on leave, nor could he effectively lead Original Programming without her.”

She also accused the company of violating the federal Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and the California Family Rights Act (CFRA) by unlawfully terminating her while she was on medical leave.

Viacom issued a statement about Mashariki’s lawsuit.

“These claims misrepresent the facts and are without merit,” responded a spokesperson for the corporation. “We strongly deny any allegation of wrongdoing and we intend to respond to the specific allegations in the course of legal proceedings. At Viacom and BET, we take the health and well-being of our employees very seriously and we are committed to fostering an inclusive, diverse workplace that supports the success of all employees.”

It’s a bold, unprecedented move. And I’m both humbled and excited by the possibilities.”

Jay Z adds, “Van’s immense capacity for empathy builds bridges. He inspires dialogue and only through conversation and active listening, can true change occur. Roc Nation is honored to support and amplify every initiative.”

More Really Bad News For Ja Rule And The Fyre Festival

(AllHipHop News) Rapper Ja Rule and his fellow Fyre Festival bosses have been slapped with their third lawsuit this week, following their disastrous canceled event in the Bahamas.

The “Always On Time” hitmaker teamed up with technology entrepreneur Billy McFarland to launch the inaugural luxury bash, which was set to take place over two weekends, starting on April 28.

However, they failed to properly set up the site on the Great Exuma island, and ticket holders, who had paid thousands to attend concerts by musicians including Major Lazer, Tyga, and Pusha T, were forced to stay in disaster relief tents instead of the plush villas they had been promised.

The festival was axed on the morning of its planned launch day, and after all attendees were safely flown home, the first class action lawsuit was filed by celebrity attorney Mark Geragos, demanding $100 million for fraud and breach of contract.

A second similar suit was lodged in Los Angeles County Superior Court on Tuesday (May 2) by personal injury lawyer John Girardi, on behalf of his three clients, while a third has now been filed in New York City.

According to documents obtained by Pitchfork.com, ticket holders Matthew Herlihy and Anthony Lauriello are demanding a jury trial against Ja Rule, McFarland, and two other officials, accusing them of “false representations, material omissions, and negligence regarding the ‘Fyre Festival’ and their failure to organize, prepare, and provide attendees with the experience that the Defendants marketed as being a luxurious private-island getaway”.

They are seeking unspecified damages for themselves as well as other attendees for “negligence, fraud, and violations of consumer protection statutes”.

The Fyre Festival founders have yet to comment on the latest legal action.

Kanye West and Kim Kardashian’s Unveil Kid’s Clothing Line Today

(AllHipHop News) Reality TV star Kim Kardashian and her rapper husband Kanye West will unveil their joint children’s clothing line today (May 5).

The superstars are no strangers to the world of fashion, but their work in the rag trade has been concentrated on solo projects in the past, with Kanye focusing on his Yeezy lines with sportswear brand Adidas while Kim has been collaborating with her famous sisters on apparel for their DASH label.

But the spouses are proud to be debuting The Kids Supply, their first husband-and-wife clothing collection for children, which will be available to purchase this week.

“Keeping Up with the Kardashians” star Kim reveals she and Kanye have been testing out The Kids Supply designs on their own kids, daughter North, three, and 17-month-old son Saint, ahead of the collection’s release.

“For the past few years Kanye and I have made almost all of our kids clothes…,” Kim shared, before noting the demand for their designs became clear after loved ones kept asking for new designs.

“All of my friends would ask where we get our kids clothes, so now they will be available!,” she added, “Tomorrow’s drop is so sick! Just a hint… Calabasas”.

Kim’s hint seems to refer to Kanye’s latest Yeezy x Adidas collection, which had a Calabasas, California-theme and sold out within minutes after its online release in March.

Calabasas is Kim’s hometown, and where she and Kanye currently reside.

Mimi Faust Asks A Judge To Keep Joseline Hernandez Away From Her Family

(AllHipHop News) A new court battle has broken out between Mimi Faust, Stevie J and their estranged girlfriend, Joseline Hernandez.

Mimi went to court on Tuesday (May 2), and asked a judge to grant a restraining order against Joseline.

Mimi alleges that Joseline’s aggressive behavior has been escalating, and includes threats over social media, allegations that Stevie J is a child molester, not to mention their many physical encounters on the show.

Mimi also made another disturbing allegation against Joseline, claiming she allows the open use of illegal drugs around her baby.

“People think this is a f##king joke. This is for real. This is my real life. I don’t give a f##k about the show or what was said on it,” Mimi fumed to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution while blasting Stevie J.

“If he’s not going to protect my daughter, I will,” Mimi snapped. “If the shoe were on his foot, he’d do exactly what I’m doing. I don’t understand why he thinks this is okay. This is not okay with me in any respect.”

Drake And Meek Mill Ended Beef?

(AllHipHop Rumors) I thought Meek and Drake were going to be forever enemies. On More Life, I (and others) agree that Drake took some shots at Meek, basically throwing more dirt on him. But Rick Ross is talking on their behalf again. Sometimes I wonder if Rozay is just speaking things into existence or if they are true. I just don’t see Drake or Meek putting things to the side after the whole “twitter fingers/is that a world tour or your girls tour” thing. And Meek damaged Drake more than people want to admit with that ghost writer stuff. Anyway, Ross talks about it around the 11-minute mark.

Would you want new music from these guys?

T.I. & Suge Knight’s Son Address Funk Flex’s 2Pac Comments; Flex Responds (VIDEO)

(AllHipHop News) Funkmaster Flex had a lot of people in the Hip Hop community shaking their heads when he went on Instagram Live to comment about the 1994 shooting of Tupac Shakur.

The Hot 97 deejay claimed Pac initially shot himself during the violent incident at Quad Recording Studios.

Among the people to address what Flex had to say were T.I. and Suge Knight’s son Suge Jacob Knight.

T.I. posted:

Yo @funkflex Respectfully Bruh… on G-Code…. regardless of what YOU THINK the validity of your statement is, I was taught never to speak down on a dead man. Considering they ain’t here to speak up for themselves. When he was alive, you was on da air then…. that was the time to address this. NOT HERE, NOT NOW, NOT LIKE THIS!!! And I’d say the same to a n-gga from LA speaking on BIG.

Jacob Knight wrote:

I saw how all of a sudden you want to speak on Suge name you b-tchmade ass n-gga. Yall this man is in the same position as Cassie, he’s Puffys b-tch. 20 years later and suge gets locked now you come out and speak on the name? You scary and a coward. All you do is scream on the radio dont try to talk about a CEO who made the westcoast. Everybody from DEATHROW became succesful and I cant say the same for bad boy. WestSide to yo b-tch ass dad cause he didnt teach you how men confront each other.

Flex jumped back on IG to react to the criticism.

In a 41-minute video, the 48-year-old New Yorker claimed he was “not slandering the dead.”

He stated:

We just giving truth. That’s all. I’m just keeping it one hundred. Pac’s music – I love him. I love what he put down. I love what he put in the game. I loved everything he did. It’s just the lying about Biggie. He lied. He f-cking lied. He never cleared it up and then he died. Then Biggie died. I ain’t trying to start no East Coast-West Coast thing.

At one point, Flex responded directly to T.I.:

I was on the radio when that was happening, my brother. I was on the radio breaking Digital Underground on [WBLS] in 1990. T.I, you was 10 years old. So you wasn’t aware of it. And I’m not knocking you, bro… I know you’re speaking from the heart too. Your mom told you you shouldn’t sh-t on the dead, and you’re absolutely right. That’s all. I just wanted to say what I wanted to say. That’s just how I feel.

Flex spoke about Suge Knight:

I know Suge’s son had a lot to say. I respect your opinion, my brother. I went to your Instagram page and I see you’re a positive brother… You and your dad probably had some amazing times. But I’m gonna keep it super one hundred for you today. Suge Knight let greed and envy and jealousy seep into his heart and ruin his entire empire. That’s just my opinion. And I wanna say this with a straight face so there’s no f-cking confusion today. I do respect your dad for what he laid down in the music business, but I wanna be so f-cking clear right now. When he used to come to New York, nobody gave a f-ck. Nobody was scared of him. He had no weight over here. Zero weight. He used to come and stay in a hotel over in Fort Lee. He used to stay over there and sneak into the city. All of that is to say, I’m not disrespecting his hustle. I’m just saying I was never scared of him.

The live feed included Flex nearly breaking down in tears as he talked about Tupac allegedly lying about The Notorious B.I.G. being involved in the ’94 ambush at Quad.

Yo @funkflex Respectfully Bruh… on G-Code…. regardless of what YOU THINK the validity of your statement is,I was taught never to speak down on a dead man. Big Boi Talks Wanting ‘Empire’ Creator Lee Daniels To Direct OutKast Biopic

(AllHipHop News) Could OutKast be the next music act to get the biopic treatment?

One-half of the Grammy-winning Hip Hop duo spoke with HipHopDX about a possible feature film covering the Atlanta natives.

Big Boi stated:

Me and [Andre 3000] just spoke about it last week when I was in New York. I think he might have been taking a couple meetings talking to people and then I got a couple of people in mind that I’ma talk to, one of them being Lee Daniels who I just did the TV show Star with so yeah all that’s coming and we just know it’s time to do it. It’s coming!

Daniels is best known as the co-creator of the Fox drama series Empire.

The 57-year-old filmmaker also directed the movies Precious, The Paperboy, and The Butler.

When asked who he would like to play him in a biopic, Big Boi suggested one of his offspring could take on the role.

He replied:

Sh-t, I don’t know, maybe one of my sons could do it cause they look exactly like me and they know all the words to all the raps so they probably could pull it off, and they know me so I may have to do the Cube move and pick one of my sons to play me.

There are several upcoming music biopics in the works.

The life stories of Nas, Pharrell WilliamsMaster P, Bobby Brown, Faith Evans, Jodeci and Xscape are all expected to hit screens in the near future.

While Daddy Fat Sax and Three Stacks figure out creating a film about their career, fans of OutKast can be on the look out for Big Boi’s third solo album Boomiverse.
