50 Cent Is Hosting His Own Late Night Talk Show

(AllHipHop News) Rapper 50 Cent is heading to late night TV to host a show on American network BET.

The “In Da Club” hitmaker will host “50 Central,” and the rapper took to Instagram to release a few details about the show, which will feature “a wide variety of sketch comedy” celebrity guests, musical performances, and pranks.

“’50 Central’ is a platform that allows us to get all those hidden talents out in the open,” the rapper says in a video on the social media site. “Expect the unexpected. It’s me having freedom. It’s a different type of comedy… It’s a little more edgier than things you would have seen in the past. BET, at night, they’re gonna let me do what I gotta do.”

The show will be executive produced the rapper, real name Curtis Jackson, under his G-Unit Film & Television company.

It is unclear when the show will air, but bosses at the network have reportedly acquired 24 episodes of the series.

Mary J. Blige Had To Rewrite Songs On Her New Album, After Separation

(AllHipHop News) Singer Mary J. Blige had to rewrite the songs on her new album Strength of a Woman following her separation because the record’s original theme was about saving her marriage.

The “No More Drama” hitmaker split from Martin ‘Kendu’ Isaacs last year after 12 years of marriage. Mary began penning her album before the breakup, but after the marriage came to an end, she needed to go back to the writing table.

“I started off writing the songs about how I was going to save everything, save my marriage and my situation, then it turned into me rewriting, just figuring out how to save myself,” she says.

“There was no moment where I felt like I was going to keep this in because it was way too much for me to handle on my own,” she adds. “These are things I needed to get out. I needed to express myself and so it hurt, but it’s good. It’s good.”

Blige and Isaacs are currently battling in court over his request for almost $130,000 per month in spousal support and the fight has been tough on the singer, but she is confident she will get through it.

“There is no happy ending right now because we’re in the thick of it,” she continues. “We’re in the midst of all this foolishness and until the divorce is final, this is where we are. But I’m going to smile and have people make me smile and love myself and not give up.

“It’s about knowing you’re worthy and it’s a process,” she adds. “I haven’t come out the end yet. Not yet. Every day you have to remember to love yourself… I’m in the like myself (stage) really heavy. But to love yourself is (a) process, but I’m getting there.”

Aziz Ansari Rates His Favorite Kanye Albums, Names All-Time Favorite Rap Verse (VIDEO/POLL)

(AllHipHop News) Back in 2011, some fans were confused on why Aziz Ansari randomly shows up in Jay Z and Kanye West’s “Otis” music video.

It turns out Ye and Aziz are actually friends.

As the latest subject of Vogue‘s “73 Questions” interview series, Ansari talked about his connection with the Hip Hop superstar.

The comedian even ranked Kanye’s albums from best to worst.

“There’s a tie up top – Watch The Throne, [My Beautiful Dark] Twisted Fantasy,” responded Ansari. “Then I’m gonna go a tie for Yeezus and Life Of Pablo. Then Graduation. Then College Dropout. Then Late Registration… Oh my god, this is so hard.”

In addition, the star of Netflix’s Master of None was asked to name his favorite verse from any emcee ever.

He stated, “It’s my favorite, not the best… So my favorite is maybe that really silly DMX verse where he lists all his ex-girlfriends.”

Aziz was referring to X’s second verse on “What These B-tches Want” featuring Sisqó.

The track appeared on the 5x platinum album …And Then There Was X which was released in 1999.

What’s your favorite Kanye West album? Take our poll below.

Did Ja Rule Warn A-Listers Not To Attend Fyre Festival Ahead Of Time?

(AllHipHop Rumors) Poor Ja Rule; the man just can’t catch a break.

Ja Rule is one of the people involved with the disastrous Fyre Festival who is not only facing much backlash, but also a $100 million lawsuit.

While Ja has apologized for the failure of an event, he still maintains that the disaster is not his fault.

Pictures surfaced online of a tent-filled, cheese sandwich mess that was previously advertised as a a luxury private island escape.

According to PageSix, Ja and organizer Billy McFarland may have known that things were going to go left way ahead of time.

“They called all the A-list names and the modeling agencies and told them not to come. They were just like, ‘Oh, come next weekend when all the kinks have been worked out.’ This was before the chaos even started.

“Everybody who was organizing the festival took off. They abandoned it. They put up a sh—y stage, took millions of dollars, and then left everybody stranded. It was like a scene out of that movie ‘Exodus.’ There were people with bags, not knowing what to do. I feared for people’s safety, it got so bad,” said an inside source.

The festival has been described as the Hunger Games but with less luxury! Damn Ja! Billy McFarland, also allegedly partied on a yacht Thursday while other people suffered. SMDH

Paranoia: Kanye West Is Allegedly Rocking A Bulletproof Vest Daily Out Of Fear

(AllHipHop Rumors) Apparently Kanye West isn’t holding up too well.

Yeezy Yeezy has been rather quiet lately, and he’s been noticeably absent from the scene.

According to RadarOnline, Yeezy’s previous mental breakdown has been affecting him more than his camp would like to admit.

Apparently Kanye is so paranoid that he will be killed that he’s now been wearing a bullet proof vest as a part of his everyday attire.

Sources close to him are also claiming that he’s on the verge of another mental breakdown.

“He’s not right in the head and he’s under the delusion that he’s a target. He has nightmares of being hit by bullets — he wears the bulky gear even when it’s just out for dinner!” a source told Radar.

Ye allegedly believes his wealth has made him a target, causing the rapper to beef up his security.

He has also been said to still be tortured by thoughts of his wife’s robbery last year.

Kanye has allegedly ordered a fleet of bulletproof cars, and he won’t go out without an army of security.

I can understand a bit of Kanye’s paranoia especially with what he’s been through, but I hope he seeks some sort of help to cope with it because if you are losing in your mind, you will lose in life.

Find Out Why The LGBT Community Is Big Mad At Lil Mama!

(AllHipHop Rumors) Welp, I doubt the LGBT community will be booking Lil Mama for any of their events.

The LGBT is upset over Lil Mama making what they believe was a distasteful joke about transgender people.

Apparently folks were also upset because Lil Mama used the phrase “Tranny” instead of Transgender.

Sometimes I feel bad for Lil Mama. Does she not have any friends, a team, a manager, or people that love her around her? It seems like she can’t with all of these L’s she takes.

It’s like her and Bow Wow take so many L’s that folks are really believing more and more everyday that they just may be the same person. LOL!

Lil Mama is a pretty girl with some sort of talent, but she just can’t get right. Her little corny joke went left, and the social media dragging followed suit! Some felt that Lil Mama had nerve even speaking on transgenders since folks swears she looks like Bow Wow.

Lil Mama tried to clarify her joke by saying that it was just a joke, and she even has transgender friends.

She’ll know next time! LOL.

GOAT Tales: Carmen Bryan Recalls Cheating On Nas With Jay Z

(AllHipHop Rumors) Oh Carmen!

The 90s was certainly rap scandalous! Nas‘ ex and baby mama, Carmen Bryan, will forever be connected to not only Nas, but to Jay Z as well.

Carmen recently sat down with DJ Vlad to discuss the highs and lows of her previous relationship with Nas.

Carmen explained that in her relationship with Nas, she was transitioning and evolving spiritually. Her taste in men was changing, and she was becoming a different person.

The life that her and Nas were living was no longer conducive to her evolution. At one point she says she felt like her and Nas were dragging the relationship mostly for their daughter, Destiny. She says after years of fights, she had to go.

Carmen openly discussed her and Nas cheating on each other. She says she felt empty emotionally in the relationship when Nas became this superstar.

“The problem was who I was cheating with. Now had I been cheating with like some nobody who just wants to play Nitendo all day and smoke cigarettes in front of the TV that may not have been a problem. Okay like Carmen we can get through that; we can get past that. But I was cheating with individuals that were in the same genre of music, the same circles, you know the same company. But I didn’t look at it as if I was doing anything wrong. I felt like this is my circle too. These are my peers too. Like I’m in the box too…….I had a relationship with Jay Z. But the thing about Jay Z and I, we were friends before anything. That was my best friend before we became intimate, before we became lovers to any extent, before anything became physical between us that was my friend,” said Carmen.

Welp, Carmen says she has no regrets. LOL. Apparently she has been working on new music and wants to move past the narrative of being the woman who cheated on Nas with Jay Z.

Snoop Dogg Unveils A New Autobiographical Film

REVIEW: Wale’s SHINE Brings Fun To Hip-Hop!

(AllHipHop Reviews) For Wale, every album feels like an attempt to right the ship that is his career. He gets a lot of hate for an artist of his caliber, some deserved and some not. But we’re seeing a different side of the DMV native on his fifth studio album, SHINE, and it may ultimately be a turning point in his career and life.

The first word that comes to mind when I think of this album is “fun.” Strong lyricists like Wale are often put into a box and expected to make thoughtful music, which can hurt the overall quality of the music. But with summer right around the corner, a combination of dope bars and good, upbeat music is exactly what we needed, and Wale delivered.

Wale said SHINE stands for “Still Here Ignoring Negative Energy,” a fitting moniker for this project. He could have used it as an opportunity to address his haters and prove himself, but he chose to ignore all of that and make good music for fans to enjoy.

That’s not to say this album is all happy. On “Thank God,” the opening track, Wale croons, “I tell my enemies, I really pray that you don’t fall. . . so they can watch me ball.” Clearly it’s not all water under the bridge, but he doesn’t expend his energy shielding himself from them like on past albums.

I usually don’t mess with singles, but SHINE had some pretty strong offerings. Even though “MY PYT” wasn’t exactly my style, “Running Back” had a unique sound to it and Wayne and Wale both did their thing over nice production. And shout out to G-Eazy who’s been growing on me since I heard him on “Purple Brick Road.” His verse on “Fashion Week” lived up to my expectations, for sure.

“Smile” was by far the best track. It embodied the theme of ignoring negativity that was present throughout the album, and it had two of the best verses. Wale drops knowledge on racism in America and manages to squeeze in a reference to The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill, while also providing the smooth, uplifting hook. Fellow DMV rapper Phil Adé makes waves with a nice verse, with one particularly dope line where he calls America “the land of free to an extent” for minorities. As one last nod to SHINE’s theme of positivity, the song’s outro features Wale’s daughter, Zyla Moon, who is undoubtedly partially responsible for Wale’s new perspective.

As far as complaints go, I don’t really have anything bad to say about this album. If you don’t mess with the sound, you’re not going to like it, but anyone looking for good, fun music is going to enjoy SHINE. The only thing I would add is one potent, lyrically focused track with no features — something just for the core fans.

It hasn’t all been smooth sailing for Wale throughout his career, but with a new upbeat sound and a different perspective on haters, SHINE is a step in the right direction.

Migos Team With Atlanta Falcons Star Julio Jones For Champs Sports’ “11 Birds” (VIDEO)

(AllHipHop News) Atlanta rap group Migos connected with star wide receiver Julio Jones of the Atlanta Falcons for the new video “11 Birds.”

The clip was created as part of Champs Sports’ “The Moment” campaign.

“I’m excited to feature my city in the Champs Sports campaign ‘The Moment,’ including a music video inspired by my personal journey in life and football, accompanied by a newly released track from my good friends, Migos,” Jones told Billboard.

Migos added, “Filming and recording ‘The Moment’ with Champs Sports and Under Armour and our good friend Julio Jones was special.”

This collaboration came after the Falcons lost in dramatic fashion to the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LI.

In March, the “Bad and Boujee” rhymers spoke about their hometeam’s second half collapse on Sportscenter.

“I was talking so much trash the whole time… til the fourth quarter,” said Migos member Quavo.

The Falcons are looking to rebound next season from the Super Bowl loss after getting good reviews for the franchise’s 2017 draft picks.

The Moment… @migos #jetlife

Eminem Lawsuit Against New Zealand’s National Party Has Started

(AllHipHop News) A court battle between Eminem and New Zealand’s governing party has begun.

Lawyers for the American rapper and producer filed proceedings against the country’s National Party in 2014, alleging that the party used an unlicensed version of his 2002 hit “Lose Yourself” in an election campaign advertisement, and they would be seeking damages for copyright infringement.

However, the party’s lawyers reject the accusation, and claim that the track used in the TV advertisement campaigning for then-leader John Key’s re-election was not actually Lose Yourself, but a tune purchased from a stock music library.

The hearing began in Wellington on Monday (May 1), with both tracks played in court.

Gary Williams, a lawyer for Eminem’s music publishers Eight Mile Style, stated that the National Party infringed copyright by using the tune, or a substantial reproduction of it, even though the song’s lyrics weren’t used in the ad.

“The song ‘Lose Yourself,’ is without doubt the jewel in the crown of Eminem’s musical work,” Williams said, in his opening statements to the court, according to The New Zealand Herald.

“The licensing of the song has been extremely carefully controlled. Despite many requests, it has only rarely been licensed for advertising purposes.”

During his statement, Williams also quoted from National Party emails, including one in which the tune is described as an Eminem “sound-alike”. He went on to claim the email showed it was “utterly clear” the party knew it was using a copyrighted song.

The backing track had been taken from a library made by Australian production music company Beatbox, and the National Party denies being responsible for any alleged copyright infringement.

Lawyer for the National Party, Greg Arthur, said that the “clear position” of the political party was to make sure there would be no possibility of copyright infringement.

The judge-only case is expected to continue for six days.

Premiere: Sullee J Enlists KXNG Crooked For His New Single “Crooked Justice” + Exclusive Q&A

Baltimore emcee Sullee J enlists West coast lyricist KXNG Crooked for his new single appropriately titled “Crooked Justice.” The two emcees exchange heavy-hitting verses, fully displaying their on mic chemistry. Sullee J also answered an exclusive Q&A for us; where he speaks on his musical influences, how “Crooked Justice: came about, future plans and much more.

Q: At what age did you start to really pursue your music career?
“It’s been almost a decade since I’ve began professionally living what I love to do. I always felt like the magnitude of influence that music has on people and society as a whole was sufficient enough for me to know that, my will to change the world in a positive manner and to raise awareness could be possible with just “one mic”. The fact that somewhere across the world, my words could touch someone else’s heart because they are going through the same thing, I just made an impact. That’s power! When I get people messaging me saying I helped them get through the day, my spirit feels like everything was worth it. Music is life.”

Q: What inspires your subject matter? Who are some of your biggest musical influences?
“It’s funny you ask that. Is it possible to be inspired as a musician by a non-musician. I feel like a part of my growth in this game is who inspires me now. Truthfully speaking, leaders in our generation and previous generations like the prophets, kings, visionaries who actually stood for what they believed in. They inspire me. I feel like I can create movements through these words, as they once had to with swords. I’d like to define myself as a martyr with the pen. However, if you really want to know some artist, by no means in any order — Nas, Eminem, Lupe Fiasco, Tupac, Tech N9ne, DMX.”

Q: How did your record with KXNG Crooked come about?
“I’ve done a few records with Crooked. He’s always been humble to up and coming artists that are actually driven. I got nothing but respect for his blessing on this track.”

Q: Do you have any other big name features in the works?
“I do, I do! It will be the single after this when I release that info. But, definitely check out some of my other tracks recently I did with Young Buck, Project Pat, Royce Da 5’9, Kuniva of D12 and many more.”

Q: What would be your dream collaboration? Producer or artist?
“Producer wise, honestly, I really want to work with Swizz Beats. I would murder everything he creates. Artist wise, on my bucket list, either Nas or Eminem.”

Q: What is your main goal as a artist? Where do you see yourself in the next 5-10 years?
“I have really different goals when it comes to this question. They might seem bizarre, but as an ARTIST, I’d like to be large enough that my words change the masses. As an individual, I’d like to go around helping in different countries, building shelters, schools, helping the youth, etc. I’m not trying to be greedy at all with the talent God gave me. I’m trying to use this light as a way to impose a blessing on others.”

Ja Rule And Fyre Festival Organizers Facing $100 Million Class Action Lawsuit

(AllHipHop News) The fallout from the ill-fated Fyre Festival is not over.

ABC News reports the organizers of the event are facing a $100 million proposed class-action lawsuit.

Daniel Jung filed the suit on behalf of all the festival attendees.

He is accusing the people behind the event of fraud, breach of contract, breach of covenant of good faith, and negligent misrepresentation.

Jung claims the event’s “lack of adequate food, water, shelter, and medical care created a dangerous and panicked situation among attendees – suddenly finding themselves stranded on a remote island without basic provisions.”

Tickets for Fyre were reportedly between $4,000 to $100,000 per person.

Platinum-selling music artist Jeffery “Ja Rule” Atkins became the face of the Fyre Festival disaster, and he had to issue an apology for the horrible conditions at the supposed showcase in the Bahamas.

Ja Rule, tech entrepreneur Billy McFarland, and Fyre Media are named as defendants in the suit filed in the Central District of California.

Jung hired well-known attorney Mark Geragos, the lawyer who previously represented celebrities such as Michael Jackson, Chris Brown, and Winona Ryder.

Foxy Brown Booed By Philly Crowd After Reportedly Showing Up 3 Hours Late (VIDEO)

As one of the event’s organizers, the “Always on Time” rapper returned to Twitter to let the world know all of the stranded guests have been removed from the island.

Ja also offered another apology for the breakdown of the festival.

“Relieved to share that all guest are safe, and have been sent the form to apply for a refund. Our deepest apologies… #fyrefestival,” he wrote.
