Young Jeezy Sued and Accused Of Murder

(AllHipHop News) The heirs of slain concert promoter Eric Johnson are suing Young Jeezy, accusing the rapper of killing their father.

Johnson was shot dead backstage at a Jeezy and Wiz Khalifa concert in Mountain View, California in 2014, and now his family is calling for justice.

The dead promoter’s kids claim an eyewitness told Mountain View police officials the shooter looked like Jeezy, and the witness repeated that claim in a deposition – and picked the rap star out of a photo line-up as the killer.

A second witness described the shooter to a police sketch artist, who drew someone that looked “eerily similar to the way Young Jeezy looked” according to TMZ.

Johnson’s kids are curious why Jeezy was never charged and they are suing the hip-hop star for funeral expenses and other damages as part of a wrongful death suit.

Kendrick Lamar Smashes Drake’s 2017 Sales Record With “DAMN”

(AllHipHop News) Kendrick Lamar’s DAMN. is now  the top album of the years, crushing the 2017 record set by Drake’s More Life.

DAMN. surpassed 300 million streams in it’s first week out, the second album this year to achieve such a feat. Drake’s More Life pushed out 385 million streams late March.

Kendrick’s opus straight sold 325k, which Hits Daily Double reports is about 100k more than More Life.

Billboard suggests strongly that K-Dot will push 530,000 to 550,000 equivalent album units, but other metrics go as high as 610k.

DAMN. dropped on April 14.

Kendrick’s Untitled Unmastered. (2016) and 2015’s To Pimp a Butterfly also topped the charts.

A Bay-Area Rap Legend Survives Getting Shot Twice

The news was not widely reported when it happened last month, when JT was fighting for his life.

The rapper has been faring much better after he had a pair of surgeries. Initially, there were complications with surgery after the first surgery.

JT is a legend in his own right, but he has also helped popularize Master P, The Game and others.

Jay Z’s New Documentary On “Race” To Air In 45 Different Languages

(AllHipHop News) Rapper Jay Z is expanding his TV resume by executive producing a series about racial issues in America.

His six-episode series, titled “Race,” will offer “a stark and provocative look into systemic injustices in America”, using documentary, animation and archival footage to outline issues surrounding financial inequality, the criminal justice system, social media, activism, and family.

The series will also feature present day stories from a variety of immigrants and first generation Americans, according to Variety.com.

“Race” will air in 171 countries in 45 languages.

The project is part of Jay Z’s two-year film and TV deal with The Weinstein Company, which he signed last year.

Fans of “Love & Hip-Hop” and “Black Ink Crew” Get More Drama With These New Specials

(AllHipHop News) VH1 will give viewers of “Love & Hip Hop Atlanta” and the Black Ink crew a behind-the-scenes tour of both of the hit series, through three special episodes.

First up is a special on Joseline Hernandez, called “Love & Hip Hop Atlanta: Joseline’s Special Delivery,” which will chronicle the turmoil and joy she felt giving birth to her daughter Bonnie Bella.

The second special also centers around “Love & Hip Hop Atlanta.”

During “Love & Hip Hop Atlanta: Dirty Little Secrets 2,” various cast members and producers from the show each expose each other and break down all of the drama that occurred over the past six seasons of “Love & Hip Hop Atlanta.”

The third and final special is about the Black Ink Crew, called “Black Ink Crew: Behind the Ink.”

The Black Ink special will be hosted by cast member Sky, and will show the top 10 craziest moments from all of the seasons of “Black Ink Crew.”

“Love & Hip Hop Atlanta: Joseline’s Special Delivery” Premieres Monday, May 1 at 8 PM, the “Love & Hip Hop Atlanta: Dirty Little Secrets 2” plays on May 10 at 8 PM, while “Black Ink Crew: Behind the Ink” debuts on May 17 at 8 PM ET.

Production Squad Organized Noize Discusses Making Music For Themselves With New EP

(AllHipHop News) Organized Noize Productions is gearing up to release their first ever compilation.

The production squad behind the sounds of artists like OutKast, Ludacris and even most recently Future, will drop ONP EP, their first, seven-song EP, this May.

The Organized Noize crew tapped 2 Chainz, Big Rube, Scar, Big Boi Joi, Cee-Lo Green and others for the ONP EP.

“At the beginning of our career we were so busy with our acts in the Dungeon Family making sure every artist and every group had what they needed, Ray Murray told AllHipHop.com in a statement. “We specialized in giving them what was authentic and true to them. Finally, now, we’ve gotten to a place where we can relax and make music for US.”

Funk Flex Claims Drake Is No Longer A “Top 5” Rapper Anymore

One thing that’s for sure is the fact that Funk Flex loves to troll and antagonize the 6 God. The man is relentless with it.

According to Flex, Drake is no longer eligible to be in the top 5 rappers list or conversation anymore.

Awwww man, Flex calls Drake a fraud, and claims that because Drake was fraudulent he opened up a spot for Kendrick Lamar to be in the top 5.

Flex tells Drake fans that they are just mad because their boy got caught with reference tracks, which he claims is the equivalent of getting caught with your pants down.

Funk Flex even says he believes that before the reference scandal, Drake had the crown.

Kodak Black Could Be Facing Some Serious Jail Time!

(AllHipHop Rumors) Things aren’t looking too good for Kodak Black.

Prosecutors are trying to make it extremely hard for the Florida rapper as they want the judge to hit him with an 8-year sentence for violating his probation!

Kodak appeared in court this week for the judge to determine if he had in fact violated his probation.

Prosecutors are demanding the 8-year sentence over an assault on a Miami bartender. The assault isn’t the only problem here, Kodak’s trip to Miami wasn’t even authorized by his probation officer.

Remember last year the rapper took a plea deal that required him to face house arrest for a year and probation for 5 years. Most laughed at the thought of Kodak Black being able to stay out of trouble that long, and apparently they were right!

Oh yeah, we have to keep in mind the fact that this week’s hearing has nothing to do with the sexual assault charges Kodak Black is still facing in South Carolina.

According to the Sun Sentinel, Kodak has been charged with six counts of violating his house arrest. These counts also include the violations of his trip to Miami and a boxing match in Ohio.

To Kodak’s defense, his lawyers maintain these were promotional events for his career, meaning he was technically working. Kodak’s PO didn’t help his case either as she expressed that he definitely needed some guidance.

I wonder what, if any, type of sentence he will receive.

Young Lito Claps Back At Troy Ave’s Claims That He “Ran” At Irving Plaza

Troy Ave has been surrounded by all kinds of controversy whether it’s the on-going legal issues and controversy stemming from the Irving Plaza shooting on up to his recent Tupac-inspired ‘NuPac’ project.

Now Ave is claiming that his former artist Young Lito ran from the scene during the Irving Plaza shooting that claimed the life of his bodyguard Ronald “Bang” McPhatter.

According to the Ave, Lito ran pretty fast in the other direction once shots were fired.

Young Lito has now clapped back in his own defense! Lito claims he was NEVER in the green room with Troy Ave to begin with, and he claims that his natural instinct from being raised in the projects lead him to run for his life anyway.

Maybe I’m missing something. LOL. Who wouldn’t run from gunshots?!

New Death Row Docuseries Is Coming To BET

(AllHipHop News) A docuseries about Marion “Suge” Knight’s Death Row Records label is in the works at American network BET.

“Death Row Chronicles” will be comprised of six, one-hour episodes, and is described as “part true-crime murder mystery and part hip-hop drama”.

Production on the project will begin this spring and is set to air next year, according to Billboard.

Knight and rapper/producer Dr. Dre co-founded Death Row Records in 1991.

It is considered one of the most influential hip-hop labels and boasted artists including Snoop Dogg, late rapper Tupac Shakur, and the Outlawz.

The company was shuttered in 2008.

Knight is currently behind bars in Los Angeles facing charges of murder, attempted murder and hit-and-run following a dispute in Compton, California in January, 2015, when he struck and killed his friend Terry Carter and injured actor Cle Sloan as he tried to drive away from a fight.

Chance the Rapper Launches A Preemptive Strike Against Bootleggers

(AllHipHop News) Chance the Rapper is fighting to protect his trademarks in a new lawsuit involving his clothing line.

Chance is lauded for giving his music away for free, since monetizes his career through other channels, like his hit merchandising business sold through his own online store ChanceRaps.com.

Next week, Chance is scheduled to go out on the road for a major North American tour.

On Wednesday, the Chicago rapper filed a preemptive lawsuit against hundreds of would-be bootleggers, whom he claims are making knock-offs of pieces in his clothing line.

The lawsuit only names defendants 1–100, and the “XYZ Corporation,” since the identities of the offending corporations have not been discovered yet.

Chance is slated to launch his tour on April 24 in San Diego and wind the outing down on October 3 in Los Angeles.

Mistah F.A.B. Vows Comeback After Arsonist Destroys His Clothing Store

(AllHipHop News) Oakland-bred rapper Mistah F.A.B. is trying to get to the bottom of who set his clothing store on fire.

The popular rapper owns a North Oakland clothing store called Dope Era, which has been a staple of the local community and has even earned F.A.B. honors from City Council and the Mayor.

Early yesterday morning (April 20), a neighboring business called F.A.B.’s sister around 2:30 AM to report the store had gone up in flames.

When firefighters arrived, the blaze had been put out.

But the San Francisco Gate reports that firefighters smelled a strong odor of gasoline area, and eventually found a discarded gas can near the fire scene.

Mistah F.A.B. blasted the coward who set his store on fire since there are 11 children who live in the apartments above Dope Era.

“I really didn’t even care too much about the shop, it was, ‘Is the children upstairs OK? Did the smoke get in their room?’” Mistah F.A.B told the San Francisco Gate. “If a person had a dispute with me, don’t take your anger out on the shop and risk the lives of kids.”

Mistah F.A.B.’s sister could not think of any enemies that would have the motivation to commit such a brazen act.

But she pointed to racially motivated hate as a possible reason for the crime.

“We don’t know who did it or what was their motivation to burn the store down. Maybe somebody doesn’t want an African-American from the hood to do well here,” Mistah F.A.B.’s sister said.

According to Mistah F.A.B, the damage to the store will cost about $5,000.

Did Kendrick Lamar Once Plan To Sign Troy Ave?

(AllHipHop Rumors) Troy Ave is looking like quite the character these days!

I mean the dude has already been clowned for being corny and fraudulent, and it looks like now the kid is being called a liar.

Apparently Troy Ave had folks thinking that Kendrick Lamar and TDE once considered signing the Brooklyn rapper!

Troy claimed that Kendrick once gave him some serious props on his music and that he had once considered joining the TDE camp. He makes these claims on his “Truth Be Told PSA” from his new ‘NuPac’ project.

Listen issa lie. I don’t care what Troy claims. There is no way I believe anyone over there ever considered signing this kid.

TDE’s Top Dawg took to Twitter to shoot down all of this.

“4 the record… I’ve never had a convo with Troy ave or any 1 in his camp.. neither has KDot.. yesterdays story was fake news… #TDE,” said Top Dawg.

I definitely remember Troy blatantly dissing Kendrick in the past and calling him a weirdo rapper. I think this kid forgets what he says and is doing anything he can to generate buzz for his questionable career and new project.

It already seemed like Ave was a bit “off”, but I for sure know he lost his marbles when he started comparing himself to Tupac! It’s good to see Top shut that ish down! What are your thoughts?
