Is Young Thug Planning To Change His Name?

(AllHipHop News) Young Thug has made an undeniable mark in music thanks to his abstract fashion as well as his performances on songs such as T.I.’s “About The Money” and Rich Gang’s “Lifestyle.”

Is the Atlanta-raised rhymer planning to switch up his professional persona? According to Thug’s 300 label head Lyor Cohen, a name change could be imminent for the Slime Season 3 mixtape creator.

“The reality of the situation is Young Thug is not going to be ‘Young Thug’ anymore. His new name is going to be ‘No My Name Is Jeffery.’ That’s his new name,” Cohen stated during an interview with the Rap Radar podcast. “And the reality is when you see this commercial, you’re all going to understand what we do here at 300. Because it’s powerful images of what makes someone Young Thug and what the evolution and how someone is Jeffery. It’s a circular thing, it’s important.”

The veteran music executive continued, ‘No My Name is Jeffery’ is on its way. Please respect us to actually segue and utilize his name going forward because it’s important.”

The man born Jeffery Williams is scheduled to release a new music collection titled Jeffery on August 16.

MEW3 Crew Drop New Song “Complicated” With Piru Millz

Hip-Hop group MeWe Crew drops a new single titled “Complicated” featuring Piru Millz.

Blood brothers Horny Devil and Poindexter say their music is based on spirituality, and it has been that way since they were children, who grew up as the sons of a Baptist preacher and a stay at home mom.

“What’s ME without WE? Nothing,” said group member Poindexter. “Having the same passion but trying to achieve it separately was how we were doing things. Having a strong family bond and support system, we decided to work together.”

In 2012, the guys found out their father had cancer. On June 21, 2014, their father passed away, but not before telling his boys to do what they had to do, in pursuit of their careers.

“The man that taught and raised us, the one who prayed for us, who wanted us to be great, was gone. It was time to bond, to work together, to continue his legacy, to make him proud…The birth of the MEW3 CREW.”

“We write our own lyrics and produce our own tracks. We are musically inclined and play a plethora of instruments such as drums, piano, trumpet, bass and lead guitar to name a few,” said Horny Devil, who specializes on the drums.

The group, which is influenced by Outkast, Terry & Jimmy, Gamble & Huff, KC & JoJo, Lauryn Hill and others, want to promote a positive message through their music.

EXCLUSIVE: Former Remy Boy P-Dice Explains Motivation Behind “No Vaseline 2” Diss Aimed At Fetty Wap

(AllHipHop News) Fetty Wap’s former associate P-Dice has unleashed a vicious diss track toward the Remy Boy frontman on a new track called “No Vaseline 2.”

The Paterson, New Jersey native was once a part of Fetty’s click, but things went sour after P-Dice was arrested and hit with attempted murder and weapons charges for his role in a shooting that injured a seven-year-old boy in February.

P-Dice, born Justin Pope, was recently freed on $250,000 bail and signed with NASCAR team owner Ralo Wonder and is imprint, Wonder Boy Records.

“It was while watching the film, N.W.A. on TV, that I was inspired to use Ice Cube’s ‘No Vaseline’ as a cover to my diss track,” P-Dice told AllHipHop.com. “I am very passionate about my music and career. I feel like the modern day Ice Cube in the flesh with regards to what is going on in my career. I could definitely relate to what Cube was experiencing, so I selected his record to express myself musically”.

Not only has the relationship turned sour, but to make matters worse, P-Dice claims he is owned a substantial amount of publishing from Fetty Wap for the singles like “6,7,9.”

“When we were coming up, I was doing the majority of the writing. I came up with a lot of the ideas. I gave RGF their style and even put the group together”, affirms Dice.

Ralo Wonder said there was no doubt that his Wonder Boy label was going to back P-Dice in an attempt to recoup what is owed to his new artist.

“We are looking to recoup from that as well,” explained Ralo Wonder. “When Fetty Wap first got on, he even stated that this level of success wasn’t supposed to be happening to him, but that this acknowledgement of talent should have been awarded to Dice. On top of all of this business of music, Dice feels betrayed by his very own blood cousin, Nitt Da Gritt, who chose to stay with Fetty over siding with family.”

P-Dice has more new music on the horizon, via a new mixtape. Even the title, “From Remy Boyz to Wonder Boy” is a direct affront to his former crew.

Dej Loaf Allegedly Fired Her Manger For Stealing $50K

In the music and entertainment industry it seems like you can’t even trust those closest too you at times.

Rumor has it that Dej Loaf fired her manager, Joy, after she allegedly stole $50K from Dej’s account.

It didn’t help that the manager also set all of her social media account pages to private and deleted all photos of Dej off of her page. Is it greed or are these folks not being paid well? Broke or not, one’s moral compass should still work.

Didn’t Dej get into a scuffle with her former management last year?

“Right Wing” Nuts Force Cancellation of Prophet’s Of Rage Prison Show

(AllHipHop News) Tom Morello and his rap/rock supergroup Prophets Of Rage had to move a planned prison concert outdoors last week, after they were banned from playing inside.

The politically-charged band, made up of members of Public Enemy, Cypress Hill, and Rage Against the Machine, was booked to rock out for 800 inmates at a state prison in Norco, California in support of the Jail Guitar Doors charity, which provides musical instruments to convicts as a form of rehabilitation.

However, authorities blocked the gig, with officials at the California Department of Corrections ordering the shutdown “just before showtime,” according to CBS Los Angeles.

Explaining the situation, Morello said, “We were denied at the last minute because apparently they got some calls from right-wing nuts in Sacramento who said they were going to foment rebellion. What we meant to do is come here to play a great show.”

Instead, Prophets of Rage staged the show outside prison walls, and made sure to crank up the volume so the inmates could enjoy the music too.

The supergroup, which was formed in May, previously hit headlines last month, when it performed a free protest gig at an anti-poverty rally in Cleveland, Ohio on the opening day of the city’s Republican National Convention, during which controversial billionaire Donald Trump was officially declared the Republican Party’s presidential nominee.

John Legend Calls Donald Trump’s Campaign “Racist”, Talks President Obama’s Legacy (VIDEO)

(AllHipHop News) According to polls, Donald Trump is currently in trouble in his quest to be the next president. The Republican nominee’s regular controversial statements have alienated a lot of potential voters.

Grammy-winner John Legend sat down with The Lowdown with Diana Madison. The conversation included the Southside With You film producer discussing Trump.

“That’s been the theme of his whole campaign is like brown people, people of different countries, we should treat them differently and they’re not like us and they have to meet a different test for them to be really American,” said Legend. “He’s been treating the President like that for a few years now.”

The R&B star added, “It’s very disrespectful and it’s racist also.”

Southside With You is a love story about Barack Obama and Michelle Robinson Obama’s first date in 1989. Legend also spoke about the Obama’s legacy as public figures.

“I think they’ve been a remarkable couple, just on a personal level how they’ve raised their daughters and how they’ve presented as a couple to the public I think has been beautiful to see,” stated Legend. “And then secondly as politicians, as leaders of the country and the free world, I think they’ll leave behind a record of a lot of success.”

Boi-1da Takes A Shot At Tory Lanez In Drake’s Defense

It looks like everyone is tired of Tory Lanez mentioning and taking shots at Drake, A-list producer Boi-1da included.

Boi-1da took to Twitter to express his frustrations with an unnamed artist that is clearly Tory Lanez. He tweeted,

“One dude is selling out Madison Square Garden 4 nights, and the other dude trolling for attention & record sales. There’s levels to this.”

Clearly the first person referenced would be Drake as he and Future’s ‘Summer Sixteen’ tour featured four sold-out shows at Madison Square Garden. The latter would be Tory Lanez as he continues to take shots at Drake, backpedal, and take shots again. He even does things for attention.

Recently when asked about Drake, he said that he’s better, and he even recently suggested that Drake isn’t “good” in Philly, but he is. Lanez also sends subliminal shots at the 6 God on the regular.

Boi-1da and Tory Lanez sort of had an exchange a few months ago when Boi expressed that he was tired of hearing terrible Dancehall attempts, to which Tory replied with a link to his song “Luv” that includes elements of Dancehall.

Boi-1da seems to have a point about Tory Lanez trolling folks and trying to come up off of his drawn out feud with Drake in order to get more attention and more sales for his debut album, ‘I Told You’, that is due out in August.

Tory has to just focus on putting out good music and let the Drake stuff go.
