Rich Homie Quan Explains Flubbing Biggie Lyrics At Hip Hop Honors (AUDIO)

(AllHipHop News) He had already apologized for his poor performance at VH1’s Hip Hop Honors awards show, but Rich Homie Quan felt the need to address the situation further.

The 26-year-old rapper spoke with V-103 about his major mistake while attempting to rap The Notorious B.I.G.’s “Get Money” verse.

“I knew it by heart,” said Quan. “I told them I didn’t know all the words, and the words were supposed to be on the teleprompter. They wasn’t there.”

According to RHQ, he found out he was set to join the Lil Kim tribute the day before, but he did rehearse two times before that night.

The Rich As In Spirit album creator also told The Ryan Cameron Morning Show that he grew up in Atlanta, so he only knew the words to Biggie’s “Juicy.”

Foxy Brown Blasts VH1 For Being Excluded From ‘Hip Hop Honors’

Visibly missing from VH1’s recent Hip Hop Honors special were female emcees Foxy Brown and Lauryn Hill.

After many fans complained about Foxy’s omission from the honoree lineup, Foxy finally took to her Instagram account to speak out.

“And Be Clear Guys, This Is ONLY Being Granted A “Caption” Due To The Overwhelming Outcry From Fans Everywhere! I Awoke This Morning, To Our Fans Across The World’s TRENDING Outrage At (Reality Show Network) @Vh1 Non-Inclusion Of LAURYN HILL & FOXY BROWN. I’d prefer being held to a much higher standard in my walk. Therefore, Humbly Speaking The CALIBER Of HONOR I’d Aspire To Are Those “UPPER ECHELON”. After All Guys This Is VH1! Truthfully, the only accolade that truly matters to me is of the most high.”

Although fans were losing sleep over her snub, Foxy let it be known that it’s only VH1, and she would prefer being held to a much higher standard.

While this comes as Foxy’s response, we bet if VH1 reached out to her to be honored this time around, she would’ve been all for it.

It seems like they definitely would’ve honored Foxy & Lauryn this round since quite a few were honored, but they can also honor them at a later Hip Hop Honors special. What are your thoughts?

Young Buck Defends Call For Violence Against Police In Controversial Song [VIDEO]

(AllHipHop News) TMZ recently caught up with Young Buck to discuss his new controversial track “The Get Back.”

The song addresses the recent outbreak of police violence nationwide and advocates for the citizens to defend themselves at all costs and exact revenge.

During the interview, Young Buck was staunchly questioned by TMZ’s crew, while standing steadfast on his beliefs that the violence from law enforcement needs to be met with equally violent resistance.

“At the end of the day its like this, I didn’t even make it to TMZ Live until an innocent life was taken, sometimes you have to fight fire with fire,” Young Buck said.

The rapper did offer his condolences to the law enforcement officers murdered in the Dallas attack, but also stated that he believes the citizens have a right to protect their own lives, as he’s been a victim of police brutality himself in the past.

“I bear my own bruises from police brutality, I go through these things on a day to day struggle so my rage is fueled from a whole different can of fire,” stated Young Buck when asked about Snoop Dogg and The Game’s peaceful protest.

Young Buck’s track “The Get Back” features incendiary lyrics such as, ” Make these n****s load up and go kill a cop right now.”

New Marvin Gaye Documentary Backed By Family

(AllHipHop News) A new documentary about the life of soul man Marvin Gaye is in the works after becoming the first film approved by his family.

Bosses at Noah Media Group and Greenlight production companies are developing the movie, “Marvin, What’s Going On?” – a nod to the soul legend’s iconic 1971 album, What’s Going On?

And the filmmakers have the blessing of the late great Marvin’s family, including former wife Janis Gaye, and his children Nona, Marvin III and Frankie Gaye, who recently scored a court victory over Robin Thicke and Pharrell Williams after claiming their song “Blurred Lines” ripped off their father’s 1977 hit “Got To Give It Up.”

Marvin’s kids are singing the praises of the project in a statement that reads: “We would like to express our excitement about the upcoming documentary feature film about our father and the creation of his amazing What’s Going On album. We are proud that his relevance remains intact, and we look forward to being a part of this cinematic journey.

“Our father was complex, but we are confident that with Noah Media Group’s attention to detail and their dedication to the truth, the positive, inspirational and aspirational aspects of his life will be handled and shared with the world in a way never seen before.”

The documentary will be filmed on location in Los Angeles, Gaye’s hometown of Washington, D.C., and Detroit, Michigan, the epicenter of the legendary Motown label, where the soul legend recorded the What’s Going On album.

Filmmakers insist the movie will be “the defining portrait of this visionary artist and his impeccable album” which “challenged America and the world to self-reflect, going on to inspire a generation of artists and music lovers.”

Rapper Pitbull On Donald Trump: “You Have To Respect Certain Things About Him” [POLL]

(AllHipHop News) Rapper Pitbull has expressed admiration for Republican front runner Donald Trump in a new interview with Vanity Fair.

The article, which is featured in the August 2016 edition, features a lengthy interview with Pitbull about his ultra successful career.

The rapper has sold over 70 million singles, moved more than 67 million downloads and has performed all over the world.

While he’s on the road promoting his new album Climate Change, something Donald Trump actually denies, Pitbull talked about the time he had a sit down with the Republican’s Presidential nominee, in West Palm Beach.

“I actually met with Trump,” Pitbull told Vanity Fair. “He flew [me] in his helicopter over to his resort in West Palm Beach. I like to sit down with people and see what they’ve got going on, and if there’s anybody that’s fallen down and got back up . . . with all the bankruptcies he’s been through—well, you have to respect certain things about him.”

At the time of the interview, Pitbull refused to endorse either party’s choice for President.

Pitbull was quick to distance himself from Donald Trump’s controversial ideology, including his infamous statement about Mexicans and his policy towards immigration.

“I don’t think he knew what he was talking about [when he said those things about Mexicans], and there’s nothing he won’t say to have the limelight,” Pitbull told Vanity Fair. “The more outlandish [it is], the more they put it on television.”

Eric Garner’s Family Protests Police Killings On New Song “I Can’t Breathe”

(AllHipHop News) The family of Eric Garner continues to protest his death as well as others at the hands of police officers, in a new song titled “I Can’t Breathe.”

Eric Garner was killed by officer Daniel Pantaleo, who suffocated him with an illegal chokehold on July 17th, 2014.

In December of 2014, a grand jury refused to indict Pantaleo.

Eric Garner’s sister Elisha and his brother Steven Flagg recorded the songs on the heels of the deaths of two more black men at the hands of white police officers.

Alton Sterling was shot by an officer during a struggle in Baton Rouge and less than 24 hours later, police killed Philando Castile as he sat in the passenger side of a car with his girlfriend and his four-year-old daughter in tow.

The shootings motivated Garner’s family to release the new song and it isn’t the first time.

In January 2015, his daughter Erica released a song called “This Ends Today.”

New Singer Jindai Brings A Cosmic New Art With Revolutionary Roots

Jindai is a true child of the cosmos. Her otherworldliness stems from a hodge-podge of seemingly opposite forces. Her father is heralded playwright / film maker /Black Panther Jamal Joseph. Her mother Joyce Walker, a model, was the first Black woman to grace the cover of Seventeen magazine in 1972 – with an afro. On top of it all, Jindai is a graduate of Columbia University with a degree in Philosophy. And her godmother is Afeni Shakur.

All of these things and more make Jindai what she is. And then there is star dust. It was Sister Afeni that offered Jindai her first songwriting deal at the tender age of 12 years old.  The Harlem native was a singer in I.M.P.A.C.T., a group of youth activist that are immersed in the arts. She’s already performed at the Apollo, the Oscars and even prisons. Her style as a producer/songwriter/singer is genre-bending at its finest as she blends a weighty themes of sex, the spiritual and intellectual over tracks that are rolled up into R&B,electronic and indie sounds? Jindai, as a cosmic entity, may just go supernova if all the galactic gas and dust continue to form in this way. AllHipHop’s Chuck Creekmur talked to the young singer in this thought-provoking conversation piece.
