Twista Doesn’t Want The Feds In Chicago and Offers Up Another Solution

(AllHipHop News) Chicago rapper Twista is echoing the sentiments of fellow native Common, in calling for residents of the city to “wake up” before Donald Trump sends in the Feds.

Last week, President Trump threatened to send the Feds into Chicago if they didn’t fix the “horrible carnage” that was taking place in the city.

In 2016, there were 4,331 shooting victims in the city, and 762 of those were fatal.

According to Twista, he’s not entirely opposed to Trump helping solve the violence in Chicago, he’s just opposed to using force to do it.

“I think us as Blacks we shouldn’t think that all White folks are bad, or all rich white people oppress us or come at us as one, but they don’t,” Twista explained. “Everybody has different views and I think he stands for the other views. That in some way we may be fearful that they may hurt us but in some ways they can possibly help us.”

Both of the rappers are nervous, because Donald Trump’s plan to send in federal troops to the city actually has some backing from Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel.

The Mayor told a city council meeting that he “welcomed the idea of a greater federal presence in the city.”

“A lot of the guns, you know, coming into Chicago come from out of state,” Emanuel said. “Federal entities are set up to deal with that. And they do. And they work with us.”

“We need after-school programs and money put back in the communities so that we can help ourselves not the National Guard coming in,” Twista explained. “You see what happens every time you have a martial law type of thing and you bring that type of mentality to the neighborhoods. It’s a bad experience every time, nobody would agree that that’s a good idea.

“I think it’s a problem we can moreso fix amongst ourselves, and I think it’s a big wake-up call for us to stand up and do things amongst ourselves,” Twista said.

Common echoed Twista’s sentiments in an interview last week in calling on the local residents to act before the government does.

“I feel like to help Chicago, we got to take care of our own. Within the community, we got to do things,” Common stated.

“It’s a lot of people out there already organizing and doing things,” Common continued. “We need our state and local people to do things. We don’t need that type of mentality.”

Taxstone’s Foe Seeks To Replace Him Now!

(AllHipHop Rumors) Ahhhh, the game is a MF! Once upon a time Taxstone was basically the hood king podcaster. I don’t know what else to call him, because there were others. Tax really got the attention of the streets and the hood. He wasn’t like others and the was a good thing in my view. Then it got a bit too real at Irvington Plaza where the dude Troy Ave went (temporarily) out in a blaze of glory during a T.I. concert.

WELLLLLLLLLL….now it seems like Cash Jones aka Wack100 is getting himself into the podcast game to take over where Tax left off! As you know, Tax and Wack went back and forth a lot over social media. It got so bad, that Wack told Tax he would have to watch his back…

This means…a long, long time. Got damn!

What do you think a podcast by Wack100 looks like? It would have to be more than The Game and Chris Brown.

This is the only remaining evidence of the show, as all Insta posts have been deleted.

DJ Khaled Completes Line-up For New Season of “The Voice”

(AllHipHop News) Alicia Keys has nabbed DJ Khaled as a mentor for the upcoming 12th season of U.S. TV talent show “The Voice.”

Keys is returning as a judge on the series, which kicks off next month (February 27), and she’ll be up against longtime stars Adam Levine and Blake Shelton and another returning favourite, Gwen Stefani.

Keys tells Extra she can’t wait to work with Khaled, stating, “I feel like it’s so incredible to have the diversity that I’m able to bring to the show, especially through Khaled… I feel like there’s so many ways to look at music, there’s so many ways to create.

“It’s not just about being a great performer, it’s about being a personality, for the energy that you bring to come out. I think that is what Khaled does very naturally.”

The rapper says, “If the room is dark, I’m the lightbulb… I try to bring the best out of the people I work with… We gotta put it out there. We’re gonna do it. We’re gonna work hard. We’re gonna make it happen.”

On Friday morning (January 27), Stefani announced that Celine Dion will be her key adviser on the new series, while Shelton has asked pal Luke Bryan to help him get his wannabes ready for the big time.

John Legend has signed up to help Levine’s team.

Three Questions With Bam Bino

(AllHipHop Features) No one can deny Brooklyn’s long history in Hip Hop, and the New York City borough is not done producing more rap talent. Newcomer Bam Bino is on pace to be the latest BK rhymer to expand his brand beyond NYC.

It was the untimely death of a music-loving friend that inspired Bino to try is hand at rapping. Then in 2015, the Flee Team Entertainment representative fully accepted his turn toward being a recording artist.

He adopted his stage moniker as a mixture of a childhood nickname (“Bam”) and an homage to baseball legend Babe Ruth (“The Great Bambino”). “He had hits,” says Bam Bino about the New York Yankees Hall of Famer.

Hits are something the 18-year-old up-and-comer is working hard to create for himself. Even though New York radio has yet to embrace him, Bam’s video for “Allergic To Cuffin” with Bukkz Balla has already collected over 2 million views on YouTube.

Last month saw the arrival of Bino’s Top Notch which featured production by Heatmakerz, Black Metaphor, Mando Beats, and others. As of press time, the tracks on the mixtape have a combined total of over 200,000 Soundcloud plays.

“I grew up around negative energy, but I don’t promote it,” explains the Brownsville resident. “My new mixtape Top Notch is diverse, but I let people know how real it is where I’m from and I try to paint a picture for people who’s not from the hood to let it be known it’s not a game here.”

What’s the deal with your differences with [Chicago rapper] 600Breezy?

Nothing at all. We had a little difference a few months back, but that was because of a fake page. We have no problems. Shout out to him.

On “Ville Sh-t 3,” you say “top 3 when you mention New York.” Who would you name as the Top 5 rappers in New York City right now?

Me, Young M.A, A Boogie, Desiigner, Curly Savv, and a few more. I f-ck with the music heavy. We all put on for the city. It’s many more I bump, but I can only pick five.

You have a song titled “Allergic To Cuffin.” What would be your best recommendation for someone that’s also dealing with that allergy?

F-ck love. [laughs] Focus on you. If you can’t find someone, they’re gonna come your way.

Powerful Manhattan U.S. Attorney Wants To Send “Love & Hip Hop” Star Stevie J. To Jail

(AllHipHop News) Manhattan U.S. attorney Preet Bharara is known for his no-nonsense approach to prosecuting gangsters, criminals and terrorists in New York.

He’s also gone after his share of hip hop artists, targeting James “Jimmy Henchman” Rosemond, DMX and even a kingpin, linked to Jay Z who was accused of nine murders.

Now, Bharara has his sights set on “Love & Hip Hop” New York star, Stevie J, who’s behind millions of dollars in back child support.

He recently filed documents seeking to send Stevie J to the slammer, for allegedly ignoring court-ordered payments.

Bharara also claims that Stevie J keeps offending the court, by failing multiple drug tests.

The super producer, who has crafted hits for artists like 112, Babyface, New Edition, KRS-One, Jay Z and numerous others, owes the money to his ex, Carol Bennett.

Bennett is a former music-industry executive, who is suing Stevie under the 1992 Child Support Recovery Act.

The law makes it illegal for someone to leave any state in the U.S., owing more than $10,000 worth of child support, for over two years.

Stevie, who is working on a new reality show entitled “Penthouse Pets” and his girlfriend Joseline Hernandez recently celebrated the birth of their daughter Bonnie.

Now, the reality show star is facing at least six months in prison.

Did New Edition Have Ghost Singers?

(AllHipHop Rumors) A-HA! If you have seen, New Edition movie, you will know it is classic. I don’t think I have seen a TV-made music movie on this level. At any rate, if you see that 3-part movie (2 hours each with commercial), you will see that several members had drug problems. Bobby Brown is one of them that had a serious issue with drugs and that is no mystery. But did you know that he had a ghost singer on one of his biggest hits, allegedly?

YEAH! The word on the street is that he did! But, guess who? They sat Ralph Tresvant actually jumped in and sang vocals on Bobby’s first hit solo album too complete it. By the way, this is all coming from Bobby’s former manager Steven Machat.

Peep:

“We did not have a full album because Bobby was not capable of finishing more songs. The beginning and last tracks of the album I did with MCA A&R Louis Silas so the album would be filled with numbers. The song ‘Don’t Be Cruel’ is on there three times! Silas begged Babyface and L.A Reid to produce it – Bobby did not show up at the studio. He only came by sometimes to try to sing. And that was an endless wait. Drugs were part of the make-up of this album. Bobby was missing from the studio when we were scheduled to finish ‘Every Little Step’. He was on a drug run and New Edition’s Ralph Tresvant was waiting for him. Babyface and L.A were about to leave, so Ralph filled in. ‘Every Little Step’ has two singers. Bobby and Ralph. Go back and listen to the lead vocals. Then listen to Ralph.” -Steven Marchat, via DazedDigital

Why Isn’t Missy Elliott The “G.O.A.T.” Female MC?

(AllHipHop Editorial) Why isn’t Missy Elliott considered the best female rapper of all time?

She’s one of the best ever, period, but she’s not mentioned enough. She’s clearly one of the best ever – of any gender. The Virginia native has the hits, the lyrics, the production skills, the longevity and overall swag. Moreover, she’s dope across the board.

Most people think of Lauryn Hill, Lil Kim, Nicki Minaj or Foxy Brown (and others) when talking about the G.O.A.T. female emcee. If they know Hip-Hop, Rapsody, Rah Digga, Lady of Rage or Rah Digga (and others) will come up. And yet, Missy is often overlooked by the critical Hip-Hop community.

Here’s her new song, which I like lots.

However, we know (or should know) Missy has been around since the 1990’s and has put it down with her own blend of musicality and innovation. Lyrically, she has been very unconventional, but has never been wack.

Here are some of Missy’s greatest hits.

Why?

KXNG Crooked Talks “#AlternativeFacts”

KXNG Crooked’s #AlternativeFacts is inspired by President Donald Trump’s Press Secretary, Kellyanne Conway, falsely spreading misinformation about how many people actually attended Trump’s inauguration.

In laymen’s terms, “Alternative Facts” = Lie.

So, just as he did on his recent solo album, Good Vs Evil, Crooked went into the studio to shed light and truth; letting everyone know you don’t have to lie to kick it, just give #AlternativeFactsListen to KXNG Crooked’s “Alternative Facts”:
