Kevin Gates Says Beats By Dre Sound Like Sh*t!

Kevin Gates never minds sharing his opinion, and this time he decided to share how he felt about the oh-so-popular Beats By Dre headphones.

Gates says he’s spent thousands of dollars on Beats By Dre headphones and they sound like sh-t. Gates stated that there are other headphones out there that sound way better. Basically he explains that he’s into quality and he pays attention to detail.

Gates says he had to tell the people over at Beats that they sound like sh-t, and they are just loud!

Beats By Dre has certainly made a lot of money over the years from loyal consumers, but in your opinion are the headphones of great quality?

Well that’s not all for Kevin.

Remember he’s confessed to eating booty like groceries, engaging in sexual activities with his own cousin, and now he’s admitted to using heroin also.

Gates was rapping along to a freestyle were he said,

“Lean keep a n-gga cool…That dog food I used to use it… I’m going hard with the music… Cocaine distributor.”

Dog food is a slang term for heroin given the drug’s appearance in raw form. Ohhhhhh Kevin. He may be leaking music soon as Atlantic won’t let him put out any music until next February.

Has Lil Kim Fallen On Hard Times?

Lil Kim is apparently in some sort of financial difficulty, if you believe the reports that are breaking around the Internet.

According to various outlets, Lil Kim’s Alpine, New Jersey mansion is in foreclosure. Lil Kim moved into the $2.2 million property in 2002.

Now it looks like the singer could be struggling and may be looking for a new, more modest home soon. It seems Kim is so far behind on her mortgage that HSBC is making the legal moves to get her out of the property.

Mr. Lif Makes Triumphant Return With New Album After Near Death Bus Crash In 2006

(AllHipHop News) Rapper Mr. Lif is returning to the Hip-Hop circuit, after a life changing bus accident made him retire from the music industry.

Prior to the crash, Mr. Lif was on a roll as an artist on the prominent Definitive Jux label, where he worked closely with Run The Jewels member El-P.

The rapper was headlining the “Mr. Lif Plays With The Coup Tour” in December of 2006 when the accident occurred just outside of San Diego.

“There were injuries suffered to different degrees ranging from minor to serious but everyone is essentially OK and getting treated in various hospitals. The bus and everything in the bus was destroyed in the fire.” – El-P to AllHipHop.com in December of 2006.

The new record Don’t Look Down is Mr. Lif’s first release since 2009’s indie album I Heard It Today.

“The bus driver fell asleep at the wheel and dropped us 38 feet into a boulder-laden ravine. The bus jerked; we went off the road,” Mr. Lif revealed in a telling interview on NPR. “Right upon impact, all the lights went out, and then it was just — it was the tumble of my life. Utter chaos, you know, until the bus finally came to a stop.”

The misfortune left Mr. Lif psychologically scarred and motivated him to seek a deeper meaning in life. The rapper, born, Jeffrey Haynes, put down the mic, gave his politically charged rhyming a rest and cut off his trademark dreadlocks.

“You know, there was a period of time where I wasn’t really 100 percent sure that I had made it,” Mr. Lif said. “That was the toughest part, was to psychologically battle back from, just trying to really accept what had happened. I ended up walking away from the music industry after that, and it was really because I had just felt lost in a lot of ways after the tour bus wreck.

According to Mr. Lif, he needed a “complete reset” so he started an NFL podcast, which was therapeutic for the emcee, as he prepared to ease back into a Hip-Hop career after the bus wreck.

“I’ve suffered a lot of scars to get where I am. But, you know, you make mistakes, you apologize, you try to move on,” Mr. Lif said.

Foxy Brown Jacked For $100k Worth Of Luxury Items At LAX

(AllHipHop News) It has been a turbulent week for rappers and airlines in the United States. Just yesterday (May 13), Wale had an outburst on social media over the way he was handled by United Airlines.

As Wale simmered in anger after missing a flight due to what he labeled racial profiling, rapper Foxy Brown came forward to say she has a major dilemma with American Airlines.

Foxy explained she was jacked for $100,000 worth of luxury items at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), after a flight to Los Angeles on American Airlines.

Foxy, born Inga Marchand, was hired to play at the Cali Gay Pride Fest. Although her show last week took place without any issues, the overall trip for the rapper was a tragedy.

According to a post on her Instagram account, Foxy’s bags was stolen by a bandit at LAX’s baggage claim. Foxy reported the incident to airport police and an investigation supposedly started.

“Material things can very well be replaced, but some items are true FOX VINTAGE and we’re horrified that a week later we have NO answers,” Foxy Brown said. “We intend to vigorously pursue until JUSTICE is served and my possessions found.”

Foxy got religious and said her faith in Jesus Christ would see her through the calamity. It seems Foxy was also a little paranoid about being on the West coast, saying there was a chance she was purposely targeted.

“We were there the night my close friend BIGGIE was murdered and more often than not, HIP HOP stars are blatantly targeted or their plights swept under the rug,” Foxy lamented.

A man is reportedly caught on tape taking Foxy Brown’s bags, but the criminal has yet to be identified or apprehended.

ON CUTTING OFF HIS SIGNATURE AFRO:

“I wanted to not be a haircut. I wanted to be music. Maxwell says he’s not interested in the typical celebrity life and continues,

“I’m just not into it, I see the pitfalls of all those sort of worlds, I don’t disrespect anyone’s hustle, you get there how you get there. The music, for me, is more important.”

Wendy then asks what he actually did,

“We were touring, we’re doing the Essence festival…but we did it a year ago. You know the thing for me that I was so excited about and blessed about was I like the feeling that I don’t have to have a record out to be able to go out and record and to do a show for people.

ON HIS LOVE-LIFE:

“I’m in love. I can say that I feel really a deep love…right now we move around so much…you know, a woman wants to feel number 1 and you always have to really, really make them know, ‘look, this is just what I do. I love you very much, please understand.”

Macklemore Sits Down With President Obama And Discusses Prescription Drug Addiction

(AllHipHop News) Grammy Award-winning performer Macklemore joined President Barack Obama as part of the POTUS’ Weekly Address aired this morning (May 14).

The “Same Love” rapper took part in a conversation with President Obama about the seriousness of drug addiction and the consequences of abusing prescription drugs.

Macklemore, born Ben Haggerty, has first-hand knowledge.

Macklemore did a stint in rehab for drug and alcoholism addiction. He went three years before falling off the wagon in 2011, a theme Macklemore explored on his song “Starting Over.”

During the discussion with President Obama, Macklemore explained the loss of a friend who overdosed on prescription drugs at a young age.

“My friend Kevin overdosed on painkillers when he was just 21 years old. Addiction is like any other disease – it doesn’t discriminate,” Macklemore said. “It doesn’t care what color you are, whether you’re a guy or a girl, rich or poor, whether you live in the inner-city, a suburb, or rural America. This doesn’t just happen to other people’s kids or in some other neighborhood. It can happen to any of us.”

President Obama has had some success in Congress recently, thanks to the passage of several bills that are intended to fight opioid addiction. But the President emphasized more money is needed if Americans that are dependent on drugs are going to get the treatment they need to get sober.

“On top of funding, doctors also need more training about the power of the pain medication they prescribe and the risks they carry,” President Obama said. “ Another way our country can help those suffering in private is to make this conversation public.”

If you are addicted to opioids or any drug, the President encourages you to call 1-800-662-HELP.

Filming For Snoop Dogg TV Series Sparks Panic

(AllHipHop News) The filming of a TV series that features Snoop Dogg’s trial for murder sparked panic as a shooting re-enactment caused members of the public to flee a Californian park.

The rapper – real name Cordozar Calvin Broadus, Jr. – was arrested in August 1993 in connection with the death of Phillip Woldermariam, a member of a rival gang who was shot dead by Snoop’s bodyguard, McKinley Lee.

Both were charged with murder, as the rapper was allegedly driving the vehicle from where Lee had shot Woldermariam.

Both were later acquitted, but the famous murder trial is now the subject of a documentary series “Rich and Acquitted,” and a reenactment of the murder took place at a San Fernando Valley park. Members of the public ran for cover as they heard what sounded like gunfire at Tarzana Park during the filming last week, TMZ.com reported.

Local police were told that blanks would be used to replicate the gunfire in the filming of the murder scene, but people in the park were unaware and were under the impression that a real gun battle had broken out.

“Rich and Acquitted” is due to cover the acquittals of Robert Blake, Oscar Pistorius, O.J. Simpson, R. Kelly, and Michael Jackson, and will air on network Reelz in September.
