Drake Continues To Taunt Indiana Pacers From Courtside Seats

(AllHipHop News) Rappers across the game have notoriously flaunted court-side seats at big games during the NBA playoffs.

From Snoop to Rick Ross to Three 6 Mafia, rappers know a good view makes a big difference for the NBA game experience.

Now after a close game 5 between Drake’s Toronto Raptors and the Indiana Pacers, a clip is going viral of Drake taunting Rodney Stuckey of the Pacers.

At a pivotal moment in the game with just over seven minutes left, Rodney Stuckey fell to Drake’s feet and quickly got up holding the ball.

Drake, who is dubbed an official Toronto Raptors ambassador,  can then be seen clapping furiously behind Stuckey.

Stuckey didn’t turn around, but the fans have kept replaying it over and over, as the viral video of Drake taunting Stuckey has generated millions of views on YouTube, IG, Vine and other social media platforms.

In addition to taunting Stuckey, Drake had a special Instagram post for Paul George of the Pacers after the game captioned with, “I knew you were scared” and a smiley face.

 Drake IG Post

Despite Drake’s crying meme, Paul George had 39 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists making George the first player to have that scoring line since LeBron James in last year’s NBA Finals matchup against Golden State, this according to ESPN.

In the past the NBA was rumored to have issues with Drake’s involvement with the Raptors, but they have yet to comment on this situation yet.

In 2014, the NBA denied reports that they asked the Toronto Raptors to remove Drake as its global ambassador following a $25k fine it incurred due to Drake’s “public recruiting” of Kevin Durant.

More on this if the NBA decides to chime in.

Guess What Legends Have Full Albums With Prince?

Oh. The hunt to crack Prince’s coveted vault has already begun. Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, who worked with Prince, said they would love to get in there and see what’s what. They want to see what Prince is “working with.” Now we all know the Purple King had a serious vault with hundreds, MAY BE THOUSANDS of unreleased recordings. Well, here is the scoop and this is EXCLUSIVE FROM ALLHIPHOP. We have been informed by somebody that was once signed to Prince that the Minneapolis master had recorded 2-3 full albums with another genius STEVIE WONDER. AND, on top of that, another two albums with the jazz (social music) king, Miles Davis.

G Herbo Reflects On The Deaths Of Bankroll Fresh & Capo (VIDEO)

(AllHipHop News) Over the past year, two up-and-coming rappers lost their lives due to gun violence. Atlanta’s Bankroll Fresh was murdered in March, and Chicago’s Capo was gunned down in July of last year. Fellow Chitown native G Herbo (fka Lil Herb) spoke with DJ Smallz about both tragic deaths.

Herbo admitted Bankroll was one of his favorite artists at the moment. The two were supposedly in talks to work together on some music before he was killed.

“To see that type of sh-t happening, it’s never a good sight or a good feeling. I come from that,” said Herbo. “I come from people trying to kill you. I come from people not wanting to see you make it.”

The Ballin Like I’m Kobe mixtape creator added, “I look at the whole Bankroll situation as similar to my homie Capo. That was my man… To see somebody that you genuinely f-ck with that’s making a difference and trying to make something better out of his life – it’s never good to see people lose their life. When you lose your life, you don’t get it back.”

“They do that away from him. They don’t do that in front of his face. Believe that.” stated Mystikal about people disrespecting Birdman. “You can do anything you want to [on social media], but when he shows up, it’s different… Big difference.”

Troy Ave Affiliate Young Lito Discusses 50 Cent Still Having A Street Mentality (VIDEO)

(AllHipHop News) At one time Troy Ave and 50 Cent were not on the same page, but the two New York rappers eventually settled their differences and even collaborated on the “Bang Bang” track. One of Troy’s BSB Records artists sat down with Mikey T The Movie Star to talk about 50.

Brooklyn’s Young Lito offered high praise to 50. He spoke about how, in his opinion, wealth has not changed the Queens native.

“[50] talks to you regular. He still got a street mentality. That’s how you gotta be,” said Lito. “A lot of people get that money and act funny.”

Lito also discussed how 50 Cent is Troy Ave’s favorite rapper, and when the G-Unit leader embraced the BSB camp it was a big moment for Troy. Lito gave shout outs to Lloyd Banks, Tony Yayo, Kidd Kidd, and Young Buck as well.

The moment, captured backstage at Beyoncé’s concert in Miami, comes just days after Wayne’s Cash Money Records boss Birdman was involved in a heated on-air exchange with Charlamagne Tha God. The extremely short interview included The Breakfast Club host pointing out that Ross and Trick had issues with Birdman.

While Wayne and Birdman have been seen together in recent months and the CMR CEO has insisted their relationship is fine, Weezy being seen in a pic with both Rozay and Trick could be a sign that everything is not well in the YMCMB ranks. The “A Milli” rapper still has not settled his lawsuit against Birdman and Cash Money over unpaid royalties and album advance money.

EXCLUSIVE: 6FO Speaks On Jersey Murder Trial Of Slain Rapper E-9, Preps Music With French Montana

(AllHipHop News) This week the murder trial of of slain New Jersey rapper E-9 continues on as his alleged killers face murder charges.

According to nj.com, up and coming New Jersey rapper E-9, born Eric Andrews, was shot in a barbershop while watching a football game on December 29, 2013 by two brothers, Antwan and Zaire Cromedy.

The nature of the conflict rests on a dice game gone wrong according to Cromedy’s attorneys, who say that E-9 was the “bank,” holding the money.

While tussling with E-9, Antwan Cromedy is said to have pulled out a knife while giving a handgun to Zaire Cromedy with commands to shoot Andrews.

According to reports, E-9 was shot after Zaire Cromedy allegedly fired one shot killing E-9.

The two brothers were later indicted on first-degree murder, possession of a firearm for unlawful purpose and the unlawful possession of a handgun.

Antwan Cromedy was also charged with possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and unlawful possession of a weapon for brandishing his knife during the altercation.

Now just a few years after the untimely death of E-9, his friend 6FO, an AllHipHop Breeding Ground artist and frequent collaborator is speaking about the trial.

“I pray that his father and the rest of us can finally receive closure,” 6FO told AllHipHop in an exclusive interview.

“Its rough man, the trial is just now starting and it’s bringing up stuff that was almost 2 or 3 years ago. Now to hear all of this play-by-play with pictures and blood and bullet wounds, it’s tough. Then on top of that, it’s not your typical situation of war. Families know each other and it’s just messed up man. It was in a barbershop and people are taking a stand saying they didn’t see who shot who. We will see – we are going to put it in God’s hands. Whatever God wants is what it will be,” 6FO explained.

In addition to a lack of witnesses, there are allegedly questions about the potential of perjury amongst the witnesses after some of them have taken back previous statements.

“If you a civilian, be a civilian; if you a street ngga, be a street ngga,” 6FO added.

Amidst the trial 6FO is steadily working on music and was recently filmed with French Montana preparing new music and paying homage to E-9 (see below).

Chief Keef Releases Surprising Collaboration With Cee Lo Green and Tone Trump

Did You Ever Expect Chief Keef Working With Cee Lo Green? Well, it definitely just happened. Earlier today, the “I Don’t Like” rapper released the new single “Violence” featuring Cee Lo and Philadelphia rapper Tone Trump via YouTube. Unlike most of his music that features a  hard trap beat to follow his dill-inspired rhymes, “Violence” is completely different sound unfamiliar to Keef’s sound. The beat, produced by Cee Lo, takes an uplifting approach with a retro feel to match with the overall message of using music to fight for peace. The former Goodie Mob member’s verse kind of sums everything up clearly along with Keef and Trump’s verse.

Ever since his friend Capo was killed in a drive by shooting in Chicago in 2015, Chief Keef has made numerous attempts to use his influence to stop the violence in inner-city of Chicago, from throwing holographic concerts to releasing music. However, most of the attempts have failed, due to the rapper’s already well known reputation for making music that “glorifies violence,” according to the Chicago Mayor and other public officials in the city. However, Keef is still fighting to stop the violence, while also making music in the process. According to XXLKeef is has been reportedly back in the studio with Drill producer and friend, Young Chop. The two stopped working with each other once they started creating their own career after their hit single “I Don’t Like” made became a viral hit.

Azealia Banks Calls Beyonce a Thief, Scrutinizes Singer’s Message On “Lemonade”

Beyonce’s recently released album Lemonade has been receiving it’s fair share of praise and criticism for its messages regarding pride for black women as well as the pop star’s situation with her husband, rapper Jay-Z.  Banks, once again, makes an attempt to troll Bey not only by scrutinizing the overall message of Lemonade, but also calling her an outright “thief.” Banks’ Twitter spree, at first, started out fairly positive by acclaiming the album.

https://twitter.com/AZEALIABANKS/status/724043884037308417

That’s before she came across the controversial Piers Morgan article on Daily Mail, which critiques Lemonade because of its political content possibly being used as a ploy to sell the visual project. Banks soon tweeted that her support for the article, and that’s when she started to get more vocal on the topic.

https://twitter.com/AZEALIABANKS/status/724673858087866368

Soon after tweeting the article, Banks soon started to show her skeptic thoughts about both Beyonce’s album and her lack of officially speaking on these issues. The Slay-Z rapper called out the singer’s high ticket prices for her Formation tour, which is set to start later this month, as well as believing that Beyonce “steps on the spirits of the girls who come after them and try to take that spirit” through Lemonade and even the initial release of “Formation.”

The rapper wasn’t done, to further show her scrutiny (or hate) for Beyonce, Banks followed up by shaming the pop star for her perpetuation of a sad black woman in Lemonade, mainly using of Bey’s decision to spotlight her marital situation with Jay Z. This eventually lead to Banks’ “thief” statement.

Azealia Banks was a recent target of the BeyHive after trying to crack a joke about Beyonce’s wide fan base and the singer’s acting ability, and it looks like she will be putting yet another online bounty on her head because of it.

Exclusive Interview With Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele, Stars Of “Keanu”

This past weekend, in advance of tonight’s star studded “Keanu” Hollywood premiere, set to take place at the Arclight Cinerama Dome Theater, All Hip Hop correspondent  Kylie Krabbe was able to catch up with the comedy team of Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California.  Here is what this comedy team had to say about their creative process post Comedy Central, the black experience as viewed through their comedic lens, BET and how their first major foray into movies from television came in the unexpected form of a kitten.

As an established comedy team, you both owe a huge debt to Comedy Central and the extremely popular sketch show that you created there titled “Key & Peele.”  Though that show is now over, it really put you both on the map, earning you an impressive number of viewers and a cult of fans due to the diversity of your sketch characters and the more inclusive point of view when it came to the comedy on offer.  Nevertheless, it’s a certain viewer who tends to watch Comedy Central and that viewer is more likely to be white versus black or multi-ethnic, and that viewer is also more likely to be suburban versus urban.  Given the diversity of your brand of comedy and it’s subjects, does “Keanu” equal a chance to really open up the floodgates with regards to reaching a more inclusive audience that is more mass audience versus niche?

KEY: I think so.

PEELE: Yeah.  It’s hard.  You know, we don’t study the demographics for anything like that and in our experience you cant really label what makes a “Key & Peele” fan. Everybody kind of gets into it once they’ve been introduced to it, but you’re right. If we had started our show on BET, black people would have heard about us earlier and faster. It’s taken a couple of years of the internet and people passing it around, (taking) their favorite sketch and passing it on.  I think that black people will come out to see the movie.

KEY: I think it’s definitely going to make a difference because it’s just a much wider band width.   So, hopefully that’s the case because the comedy is for everyone. At the beginning of the day, all we concern ourselves with is does this make us laugh? It makes him laugh it makes me laugh. Okay were both laughing, we’re in unison on this, let move forward.   And then, anything that people say about the show or the material in the film culturally is really up to the filters that they are seeing the film through. If it’s not funny, who cares? If you’re black or white, we’ve just not done our job if it’s not funny. And I think that becomes paramount.

A lot of people who are deep into Hip Hop and the more urban side of that style choice, often they haven’t heard of you guys because you didn’t start on a BET or some other entertainment outlet with which they might be more familiar.  With “Keanu” that can potentially change on a dime.  Is there anything that you would say specifically to them to get them to go and see this movie about two guys who they don’t necessarily know but are just hearing about now?

PEELE: I’d say it’s funny. This is a really funny movie. There’s people all over – all kinds, of every group, a lot of people who haven’t discovered our brand of comedy yet.  I would say, look, we make our comedy specifically for – this is going to sound stupid– for laughter. Laughter, that’s everything to us.  We find it transformative. I think whoever you are, if we can get you to laugh, we can get you to think about whatever we are talking about.

KEY: Also, I would like to say it’s funny as hell. Everything is. You are going to see faces that you recognize in the movie. I think that is a big part of it – that you are going to see faces that you recognize. So, hopefully the movie is for you.  The movie is for you.   There’s all different types of humans in the movie. Not black humans, just humans in the movie. So there’s going to be somebody in the movie that you can identify with.

A lot of the comedy in this movie comes from the characters that you play, essentially two black surburban nerds, Rell (Jordan Peele) and Clarence (Keegan-Michael Key) pretending to be stone cold gang bangers in order to survive amongst the real killers and gangsters that may or may not have Rell’s adopted kitten, Keanu.  You both have called what they are doing in these scenes “code switching,” i.e. when people become another version of themselves in order to fit into alien or unfamiliar societal territory.  Under less heightened circumstances than are present in the movie, it would seem that “code switching” is something that a lot of people do in societal situations where they are the odd man out – no matter who they are in terms of race or class.

KEY: Absolutely.  Yes.

Certainly “code -switching” offers some very universal comedy.  It’s also something that was used to great comedic advantage on your Comedy Central show.   However, sometimes black people and other people of color in America have a harder time allowing themselves the permission to laugh at comedians that look like them doing this sort of thing.  Unlike most white viewers, sometimes they worry that to allow themselves to laugh at this is to be inauthentic.  Do you find this stricter standard frustrating?

KEY: Well, when you say stricter standard, how do you mean that?

I work in Hip Hop.  At my kid’s suburban school, most of the parents I know, I’m guessing they aren’t into Hip Hop, and they aren’t generally people of color.  As such, there’s things that I’m not likely to bring up with them, like what did they think about Beyonce’s “Lemonade” and do they think that Rachel Roy is in fact Becky With the Good Hair?  This stuff interests me and I enjoy talking about it, but it’s not really who I am when I am at my kid’s school. Does this make me inauthentic as a black person?  I don’t think so.  But some people with stricter standards might disagree with me because of who I am and the country I live in.

KEY: Of course. Yeah. That speaks to where you are culturally at the moment.  I think that any guy who came to your house to take you to prom, was going to speak to your father differently than he was going to speak to anybody that you were spending time at prom with. So I think that you are right. There’s not, there doesn’t have to be – we say this all the time with “Key & Peele” – it’s certainly a strong belief that we have – the African American experience is a spectrum, not a monolith.  We should all be able to accept where everybody else is on that spectrum. That’s my feeling. As opposed to saying no, no, no, you’re not African American unless you behave this way. So you’re right. We’re the only creatures on this planet who can do this dance with each other. We are the only ones who do this cultural dance. Every other creature, they are completely trapped in what they are. ‘I need food, I need shelter.’ That’s why we watch animals fight. But we don’t do that. We go, ‘well I can disagree with you, but also I have a malleability about myself’ because only humans can do that. I think it’s important..

PEELE: It is. We live in a country and a world that’s really caught up with identity and what does identity mean. And for a lot of us the way you talk is a big part of one’s identity. I agree with you that code switching is a universal thing. We all have different facets to our personality. We all have a warrior in there. We all have a nerd in there. We all have a nurturer-

KEY: A lover-

PEELE: And an artist in there. The different facets of our personality speak differently.

And so what’s up with all the food references for the gangland people? You got Cheddar (Method Man) , you got Bacon Diaz ( Luis Guzman)… what was that about?

PEELE: What was going on there? You know, really good question.  Sometimes when you are making a screenplay, you’ll just need a name for a character and you’ll just name them out of a whim. Say, ‘ok, I’ll change that later.’ This was a situation where we named them real fast – really fast and then we kind of went back and said what should their names really be? And it’s like, ‘no I already know him as Bacon! He’s already Bacon Diaz to me now, so it’s done!’ We did have a joke in there at one point –

KEY: I was going to say that! I was going to say that we had a joke in there. Go ahead!

PEELE: Where my character is like, calls it out. ‘So what, you got lettuce around the corner or is it tomato?’ But you can’t really make fun of the world you set up. (Key & Peele laugh) It’s like, yeah you wrote it, you idiot. Yeah.

“Keanu” was something that Jordan developed and then Keegan came on later, which was surprising. A lot of people who are big “Key & Peele” fans assume that you both work on everything cohesively together from start to finish.  Was “Keanu” the exception to the rule or is that an inaccurate assumption with regards to how you work together creatively?

PEELE: All of our sketches happen completely differently. (It’s) very unique to the sketch. (“Keanu”) got started when (Keegan) was shooting a movie and one of the fellow “Key & Peele” writers and myself just sat down and started, ‘well what would a “Key & Peele” movie look like?’ It’s one of those things where you think,  ‘yeah, this is for fun. Who knows? this will probably never get – most movies that you write are never gonna get made.’ But the pieces kept falling together. We had our first draft. We got (Keegan) in and a bunch of other friends to read it and it evolved more and more. (Keegan’s) collaboration on the project is undeniable.  It’s all over the place. I mean, not only in the choices throughout the film but on the day we did a lot of improvisation and a lot of the best lines in any sketch or this movie that we’ll do are happening once on the day.  You can tell it’s something that the character just said and it wasn’t planned. So it’s both.  A total collaboration. But this one, in it’s very first –

KEY: In it’s infancy.

PEELE: In it’s infancy, (Keegan) was doing a movie.

Got it. So then, last question – what were your favorite scenes to write and or shoot in “Keanu”?  Which scenes were the standouts?

KEY: I certainly enjoy the car scenes cause that’s the most “Key & Peele” of us.  But the scenes that are the scenes where we are really fish out of water – I like in the beginning of the movie where we are both getting our sea legs because my thing is that Clarence panics (and) jumps off the cliff. My favorite moment I was going to say earlier is this moment when he’s just declared that the worst thing we can do in this situation is say the n word, and then he can’t stop saying it. He’s like his vocal box is possessed. And I just thought this was something that always tickled me, I loved playing (it).  He’s like ‘ n** n** why I am I doing that!?!’  He just can’t stop himself from saying it and there’s something about playing it that’s fun, but also what does it say?  What is it doing socially? Like you’re seeing a human who’s panicked but he happens to be doing it through this filter and these moments I love.  The moments of the eye darting and just, ‘I’m going to maintain this situation right here, brother. You know, I’m scared to death. Let’s try to get the f*ck up out of here as fast as we can!’  But he’s just Clarence.   My big thing as an actor, the actor choice is always ‘where’s the exit at?’  He’s just trying to be as tough as possible but all I’m thinking is ‘where’s the exit?!?’

So just playing the complete and totally painful opposite of what he actually wants most.

KEY: Yeah. The thought in his mind is the exact opposite.  And just put more bravado on it the more scared you get.

And for you, Jordan?

PEELE: For me, yeah – that was very fun playing the whole duality of fear and cocky. I loved that scene as well. Shooting the scene with Anna Faris was fun. Mostly because we were inside and cozy from the harsh New Orleans conditions. But (the Anna Faris Scene) was just fun to the point in the movie where it escalates to a very heightened very real very scary place.

KEY: The Homage to “Boogie Nights.”

PEELE: Yes, the scene in “Boogie Nights” sort of informed it a little. Yes.

“Keanu”  from New Line Cinema and Warner Bros. Pictures, starring Keegan-Michael Key, Jordan Peele, Will Forte, Nia Long, Method Man, Tiffany Haddish and Luis Guzman will be released in theaters nationwide on April 29, 2016.

Birdman Monetizing “Respek” Quotes, Quotables Interpreted In Gospel Piece

(AllHipHop News) When Birdman walked into The Breakfast Club last week, no one had any idea that his “Respek” quotes were going to take off  virally with memes and other contrived social media slander.

Now the quotables are getting a positive spin and taking life in the form of t-shirts designed by both Birdman and Okayplayer respectively.

To kick off the sale of the Okayplayer t-shirts, The Hamiltones, led by Anthony Hamilton, dropped an a cappella singing the one-liners from Birdman’s interview (see below).

We’ve seen their Drake and 2 Chainz covers and now the The Hamiltones gospel rendition of Birdman quotables has reached a new heights as the accompanying t-shirt  is now available for pre-sale.

The guys end the piece in classic Birdman fashion as you can see below.

In addition to Okayplayer’s t-shirts, Birdman himself seems to be finding humor in the incident selling “Respek” t-shirts on the Cash Money website.

The t-shirts say “Put Some Respek On My Name” and have a silhouette caricature of Birdman with his head down.

Fans of the inflammatory interview can also buy t-shirts that say “FINISH OR YOU DONE,” “got no more talkin’,” and “I AINT GONNA SAY IT NO MO.”

Mass Appeal Premieres Insanely Trippy Video For Dilla Single “The Sickness” Featuring Nas

During his performance at SXSW, Nas premiered an unreleased track he was featured on with J. Dilla over instrumentation made by legendary Stones Throw producer, Madlib. The track, titled “Sickness”, was announced to be releasing off of a new Dilla compilation titled The Diary, which planned to show more of Dilla’s rhyming skills outside of his widely known talents in production. Today, an official video for the Jay Dee’s single released via Mass Appeal. The set of visuals has a triply layout with psychedelic illustrations of both Dilla and Nas and colorful animations of both rapper’s lyrics over moving backgrounds. It’s very weird, but keeps viewers locked in for almost three minutes along with the music itself.

J. Dilla’s album “The Diary” is availably exclusively on iTunes.

Eve And David Hasselhoff Team Up For One Crazy Night

(AllHipHop News) Aside from a few movie roles like the recent Barbershop: The Next Cut, we haven’t heard too much from Grammy Award winning femcee Eve since her marriage to billionaire Maximillion Cooper.

But this weekend Eve, former Baywatch actor David Hasselhoff and DJ Afrojack will celebrate the start of the 2016 Gumball 3000 car race.

Its an unlikely trio, but Eve’s husband is the CEO of Gumball 3000 and it’s where Eve and Maximilllion met in 2010.

Max’s Gumball 3000 is an Entertainment Group, founded in 1999, with its headquarters located in London, England. Cooper’s vision was to create an aspirational lifestyle brand that combined automobiles, art and popular culture.

“It’s fun, we’re driving together for his company Gumball 3000. That’s how I met him. That’s a test for a relationship, drive 300 miles. Trust me, we’ve done it three years in a row,” she told People about her relationship with Maximillion.

“Honesty and loyalty. You know we take it day by day, month by month,” she said of her husband who has an estimated worth of over $50 million.

“We respect each other; we are the realest. It’s the realest relationship I’ve ever had. He’s my homie. All those sound like cliches, but really it’s working.”

Every year the Gumball 3000 rally draws drivers from more than 30 countries who drive approximately 120 vintage cars and sports cars including Bugatti, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche, Aston Martin, Jaguar, Bentley and Rolls Royce.

No word on if Eve will be performing some of her songs with Afrojack, but it’s likely to be a lit party with David Hasselhoff at the helm.

KRS-One Says Drake’s Alleged Ghostwriters Don’t Bother Him

KRS-One recently sat down with N.O.R.E and DJ EFN on their Drink Champs podcast to discuss rappers writing their own lyrics. KRS-One says he doesn’t have an issue if rappers get a little help with their lyrics. They naturally discussed the allegations surrounding Drake and his ghostwriters. KRS believes that it diminishes him in front of those that write their own lyrics, however he wants you to look at the entire art form of rap and emceeing. He said now when it comes to those that spit the raw from their own heart you have to step up to the plate on that level, but he basically says whether a person wrote it or not one can still deliver some great music. KRS said,

“If you have a dope writer that can make you sound like something, go ahead and get with dude. I don’t give a f*ck where it comes from. There are secrets in Hip Hop. The dopest dudes had dudes writing for them. If Rakim came to me with a rhyme. I’d say that sh*t.”
