Lyrics Of G-Unit’s Kidd Kidd Used In Federal Murder Trial Against New Orleans Gang

(AllHipHop News)  G-Unit rapper Kidd Kidd and his lyrics have come under fire as federal prosecutors allege Kidd Kidd is an “agent” to the murderous New Orleans street gang the 39ers.

Currently the 39ers are on trial for a 45-count indictment that includes at least 12 murders according to The New Orleans Advocate

In the initial hearings it was revealed that the G-Unit rapper’s lyrics are being used to prosecute members of a 9th ward gang that claims “The G Strip” area surrounding  Third and Galvez streets in New Orleans.

Little did tourists in the French Quarter know that just a few miles East, an infamous gang was taking over the 9th ward.

“Yo, ho, you wanna ride a gang 39er/ so that’s why her old man can’t find her,” Kidd Kidd raps on the controversial song “G.T.O.” by QP.

In the video members of the 39ers wear t-shirts that say “3NG We DA Best Team 39’ers,” while Kidd Kidd raps his verse.

At one point in the video, Gregory “Rabbit” Stewart, who has claimed several murders and is a cooperating with prosecutors, can be seen with his arm around Kidd Kidd with gun at the waist.

The federal case against the 39ers was being built by prosecutors as early as 2009 and spanned over a two-year time.

During that time the feds reportedly watched the 39ers push heroin to the streets of New Orleans and beyond, while also committing a host of violent crimes to go along with the murders.

While alleging that Kidd Kidd’s affiliation helped build up the name of the 39ers, prosecutors are not looking to charge Kidd Kidd or QP.

“There’s a public relations aspect of this organization, including intimidation,”Assistant U.S. Attorney Myles Ranier said, “keeping potential victims and witnesses in fear of the enterprise.”

This isn’t the first time a rapper’s lyrics have been used in a murder trial.

Back in 2012 Lil Boosie’s lyrics were used against him in a first degree murder trail that didn’t hold up as Boosie beat the case.

More news on this story as it develops as the trial is now set for September.

Skepta May Appear on Drake’s ‘Views From The 6’

Photo via Drake’s Instagram

Although fans don’t know much about Drake’s highly anticipated ‘Views From The 6’ album, they know more thanks to English rapper Skepta! Skepta recently spoke with Zane Lowe on Beats 1 and revealed that he may be appearing on ‘Views’. According to Skepta, him and Drake have been working on new music that seems to fit Drake’s album more than his own.

“We’re trying to do something for his record,” Skepta said. “It makes more sense to be on his record rather than mine.”

Skepta and Zane Lowe also discussed the rapper’s relationship with Drake as Lowe compared their chemistry to the dynamic between Jay Z and Kanye West. Skepta said that their bond formed from an introduction at a party, and from there, the two began discussing music and sharing ideas on what they were working on in the studio. He also revealed that Drake’s signing to Boy Better Know is official. What are your thoughts?

Timbaland Backs Virginia Artists Young Crazy & Breeze Barker With Fire Production

Sharks x Pistols

We all know that Timbaland has a knack for finding talent. Many regard him as the backbone for the whole late 90’s Virginia movement that occurred with Missy Elliott, Genuine and many others.

But with many new acts and movements stemming out of “The 7 Cities” of VA, Livehouse ENT Hip-Hop artists Young Crazy & Breeze Barker have linked up with Timbaland for some heavy production on their project Sharks x Pistols. The project is seen as an “ode” to Virginia and the lifestyle of the Sharks & Pistols as it pays homage to 2 major cities of Virginia in which both rappers reside, Norfolk (Shark City) and Portsmouth (Pistol City).

But check out the producers they got for this one. Production comes from super-producer and mentor, Timabaland, Milli Beatz of Timbaland Productions, Fade Majah of Team Timbo, Lex Luger, Kino Beats, Ready Rock, D4 and more.

Standout records include the leading track, “Come & Get It,” the latest visual follow-up, “How I Got It”, & Timbaland x Milli Beatz co-produced hits, “Too Virginia” and “Callin & Callin” (featured on Timbaland’s latest mixtape King Stays King).

Kanye West Reveals What Made Him Get A Cell Phone

For a while, Kanye West was known as one of the artists that didn’t believe in having a cell phone. You’d be surprised how many others are just like this in a time where social media and people’s phones consume their lives. On an episode of ‘Kocktails With Khloe’, Kanye revealed the reason he decided to get a cell phone.

“I got a phone because somebody decided they wanted to marry Kris Humphries. I wasn’t up to anything, and I looked on the internet, and there was Kim Kardashian with some extremely tall person, and I was like, I need to call her or something. I started sending her pictures of certain basketball players that used to be cool, that now they wear their pants all the way up to her. Like, ‘This is your future!’”

Ye is hilarious! Well all ends well right? Y’all do know that Kim and Ye were smashing while he was with Amber Rose and while she was with Kris right? It seemed pretty obvious even before Amber Rose revealed it. It all turned out well for Kim K and Kanye. Lol. Click HERE to watch the video.

Rozay was given White House security clearance as he was allowed to attend President Obama’s “My Brother’s Keeper” program. Apparently moments after Obama’s speech, Ross’ ankle monitor started beeping loudly during a very silent moment. Ross was as stunned as anyone because the bracelet is brand new. How embarrassing! Could you imagine?

Okay this shhhhhhhh is getting out of hand at this point. Fetty Wap may have yet another new baby mama. Fetty has some more explaining to do as another woman named Shaniqua Delillo is claiming she got pregnant by Fetty Wap and she has already given birth to their child. Every other day someone comes out and says they are pregnant by Fetty. Love & Hip Hop’s Masika just gave birth to their daughter, and he was also spotted celebrating his first daughter’s first birthday. Delillo says she was messing with Fetty and another man around the same time, but she knows Fetty is her son’s father. So using a condom is too much for Fetty and all of his women? Got it.

Here’s How Houston Rappers Are Handling The Great Flood

(AllHipHop News) A number of rappers who are from, or do business in Houston, have been impacted by the torrential downpours flooding the city.

Over a foot of water rained down on one of Hip-Hop’s most notable cities, which has produced powerhouses like The Geto Boys and Rap-A-Lot Records, Trae Tha Truth, UGK, Beyoncé, Slim Thug and many others.

In less than 24 hours, water submerged parts of different neighborhoods and highways, forcing thousands to flee to safety in the area shelters.

A number of rappers from Houston weighed in on the floods, as did a few who have business ties to the city.

UGK’s Bun B. warned his fans of the severity of the weather, after his flight was canceled and he had to drive back home.

“I barely made it back after my flight got cancelled,” Bun B. said. “Dozens of people stuck near Intercontinental airport because of high waters. Can’t get back to the freeways. Only because I was in a truck. Stay home!”

Bun B was spot on with his analysis.

One airport worker died after he was found submerged in his vehicle not far from the airport. Another tow truck driver was found dead in his rig, after he became submerged in high waters.

Houston rapper Paul Wall managed to put a positive spin on the floods. First off, the rains interrupted his son’s 10th birthday.

“My son Will was SOOOOOOOO excited that school got canceled today. I told him God made it rain for his birthday,” Paul Wall tweeted.

Since he’s locked away in his house, Paul Wall decided to release a new remix to his song “Swangin’ In Tha Rain” in honor of the floods.

Trae Tha Truth has used his social media as well, to let residents know the addresses various organizations offering local residents shelter.

Dame Dash Discusses How He Could Have Prevented Aaliyah’s Death (VIDEO)

(AllHipHop News) R&B star Aaliyah lost her life 15 years ago after the airplane she was traveling on crash in The Bahamas. At the time, the “One In A Million” singer was dating music executive Dame Dash. The co-founder of Roc-A-Fella Records was a guest on The Real this week, and he spoke about how he could have prevented the death of his girlfriend.

“There is no chance that, if I was there, we would have been on that plane, so it would have never happened that way,” said Dame.

He added, “If I was there, I would have made sure that that jet that was supposed to be for her  – the G-IV – she would have been on that. I wouldn’t have got on that plane, so it probably would have been different.”

Aaliyah died on August 25, 2001 at the age of 22. Reportedly, she and seven others were originally scheduled to fly out the next day on a larger aircraft, but they decided to leave the island earlier than planned on a Cessna 402B.

The airplane crashed shortly after taking off. Subsequent reports found that the plane was 700 pounds over its maximum take-off weight. Traces of cocaine and alcohol were also found in the body of the pilot who died during the crash as well.

Kanye West’s ‘Yeezus’ Album Sounds Different On Apple Music

(AllHipHop News) Kanye West declared his recent release The Life Of Pablo was a “living album” that would be altered periodically. After listeners began to notice the Chicago bred entertainer’s Yeezus appeared to be different on Apple Music than other streaming sites, questions of whether Kanye was also altering his 2013 album began to arise.

According to reports, the tracks “Send It Up” and “Black Skinhead” on the Apple Music version of Yeezus sound different from the versions on Tidal and Spotify. The changes include different vocals and production.

The Verge is reporting the alterations may not be from Kanye manipulating the songs afterwards. The site suggests Apple Music was simply given a different arrangement of Yeezus. In addition, HNHH points out the Apple version of Yeezus is reflective of a remastering of the album done in 2013, while Tidal and Spotify are streaming the original version.

Hip-Hop Speaks Out On Sexual Violence, Asks Afrika Bambatataa To”Address The Situation”

(AllHipHop News) A new petition has been erected to support victims of sexual abuse, but does not levy accusations against Zulu Nation founder Afrika Bambatataa.

To date, three men have accused the Hip-Hop founding father of child molestation and sexual abuse. The petitioners include highly influential Hip-Hp heads like Paradise Gray (of Xclan fame), Dr. Tanji Gilliam, DJ Kuttin Kandi, Bakari Kitwana, Davey D Cook and others.

Sign the petition here and read it in full below.

To be delivered to Hip Hop

In light of the recent accusations against Afrika Bambaataa, We the Hip hop community hold ourselves and our peers to a high standard of moral responsibility. We do not condone sexual abuse or violence against children or anyone for that matter.

We recommend that Afrika Bambaataa continue to address this situation directly and uphold the morals that he himself has pushed and inspired in many of us.

As a community we need to facilitate a process for those who are victims / survivors of abuse to help them heal and be made whole again.

As a Hip hop community we need to create safe spaces, have difficult conversations and make a firm commitment to form structural support and create relationships with organizations that work to end violence against children, women and all other marginalized groups.

We the undersigned agree to work towards restorative justice and the healing of our community.
Please stay tuned for more important information to come about how we will organize to begin this process.

After Shot: Quilly Is “OK”…But How OK? Did He Even Get Shot?

The word on the streets is that Quilly got shot…but how shot? Now, this is not for me to judge or suggest he didn’t get shot…just how good is he? It was initially reported that Quilly was in critical condition after getting shot. Well, after reporting that, we got early word that he was just shot and not in critical condition. After we tried to follow up, we found it hard to confirm additional details of the shooting. THEN…NO mainstream media has been covering it. You know THEY adore negroes getting shot! They would jump right on it. Somebody that seems to know Quilly says, “he’s not in critical just was at the hospital he is ok you can report that.”

What does that mean?

Seems as if there is no need for alarm….right?

Joey Fatts and Vince Staples Make a Statement in Farrakhan Visuals

Cutthroat Boyz, Joey Fatts and Vince Staples, make a statement in their visuals for the banger “Farrakhan.

In the video, Fatts gets profiled and chased by police officers after a corner store run.  He tries to escape and hide but eventually gets caught.  Vince, who was also at the corner store, was dressed in a suit rather than your typical quick errand outfit consisting of a tee shirt and sweats.  He was basically invisible to the police while they instead chased the more threatening looking brother. But the twist comes in the end when Fatts gets his revenge on the cops that harassed him.

This seems to be a good year for the California MC, Joey Fatts.  In March he dropped his I’ll Call You Tomorrow tape and has been assisting with producing some material with Curren$y and A$ton Matthews.   Hope he keeps it up.

All 5 Members Of Bone Thugs-N-Harmony Reunite For Epic Los Angeles Show

(AllHipHop News) Last night (April 17) all five members of Cleveland bred rap group Bone Thugs-N-Harmony performed together at Microsoft’s Nova venue next to the Staples Center in downtown Los Angeles.

Opening up for the multi-platinum and Grammy Award winning rap group was Cleveland rapper Caine who is signed to The Life Entertainment.

Krayzie, Flesh, Wish, Layzie and Bizzy all took to the stage via their recent hit with Ty Dolla $ign, “Everything 100” and proceeded to perform song after song from their critically catalog

“This like our second home out here,” Layzie Bone told a packed crowd of fans embedded in a cloud of thick smoke.

“We gonna take it back to 1997,” Wish Bone said as the group specifically performed hits from their Art Of War series of projects.

During the show Bone honored The Notorious B.I.G., Tupac and the late-visionary Eazy-E, who discovered Bone and signed them to Ruthless Records.

“Rest in Peace Eazy-m#### f*ckin E!!!!!” the group yelled as they closed out their song “Foe the Love of Money.”

The group also performed a number of their hits including but not limited to, “Body Rott,” “Look Into My Eyes,”  “1st Of the Month,” “Thuggish Ruggish Bone,” “Notorious Thugs,” “Thug Love” “If I Could Teach The World,” “Family Tree,” “Blaze It,” “The Weed Song” and “How Many of Us Have Them” a remix to Whodini’s “Friends.”

In addition to some their greatest hits, Bone also shot the video for Krayzie Bone’s new song “Ride For Me.”

The show comes on a heels of a recent announcement that Krayzie Bone canceled shows after suffering from an “intense case of pneumonia” induced by his recent diagnosis of sarcoidosis, an autoimmune disease that attacks the lungs.

Last month Krayzie Bone told fans via Twitter about complications with the sickness.

“Canada thank you for your support sorry I had to cut it short due to sickness but I will be back to make those dates up soon! Much love,” he said on Twitter

Since that time Krayzie has raised awareness about the disease that appears in the body as a collection of inflamed cells.

The ailment claimed the life of comedian Bernie Mac and disproportionately affects African-Americans.

Shy Glizzy Teams With G Herbo For “Too Far”

D.C and Chicago rap come together as Shy Glizzy enlists G Herbo for his latest track Too Far.

Produced by Goose, Shy Glizzy uses the thunderous beat to rap about his boss status.

“Ok I’m with a sexy b#### and she come straight from D.R/Living on that Sunday, bottles glow in the dark/My youngest underage, they don’t ask them for no card/Walking with that pocket rocket right in my sock/Gotta watch out for the b###### tryna show fake love/Bet you be liking Pixar all of the fake thugs/Watch out for them snitches tryna be cool in the club/How you talking bout all these drugs and you never met the plug now/They like what’s up jefe, I’m like little n—a who you?/I’m a big dog and you little n—as poodles/I done came too far, I’m in meetings with Lulu/I ain’t going back to eating oodles and noodles,” Shy Glizzy raps.

G Herbo gets on the track ready to prove that he is a valid contender in this rap game, despite his age. He talks on his upgrade from a life in the streets of the Windy City to nights enjoying lavish lobster dinners.

Does this mean Shy Glizzy is working on another project or was this just a loose track set free? Too early to tell but until then bump Too Far below.

Bas and The Hics Have No Worries in Visuals for “Matches”

Bas and The Hics cruise with the top down for the visuals for Matches.  After the success of his Too High to Riot EP, Bas continues to prove he is Dreamville’s next champ.

Directed by Doubiago Bishara and Nelson G. Navarrete, Matches shows Bas and The Hic’s It’s as if they have no worries, especially towards darkness of the world. As they cruise around town, they seem unbothered by the dark shadows that lurk in the city around them.   Instead, Bas laughs them off and raps about lost loved ones and his people coming together, holding nothing back.

Bas and The Hics have been friends for a while before the music.  So it was natural to collaborate with them for this hit.  Together they create an interesting vibe and look like they have a lot of fun.

You can catch Bas on the road this summer for this Too High to Riot Tour.

T.I. Calls Out Media, Responds To Claims He Charged $40k For Funeral Appearance

(AllHipHop News)   These days when an incident or rumor starts, it quickly becomes news and it can be very damaging if not tamed.

Atlanta rap veteran T.I. knows this and has quickly put an end recent allegations that he requested $40,000 to appear at a funeral.

After a 12-year-old nicknamed Tip was shot and killed in a drive-by, rumors began to swirl that the kid was a T.I. fan and that the child’s family wanted T.I. to attend the funeral.

After the child’s family made posts on social media requesting a T.I. appearance, several media outlets reported that the rapper was living up to claims made in his popular song “All About The Money” requesting $40k for the appearance.

T.I. denies the allegations and released an official statement on Instagram regarding the situation.

#LIES ain’t nobody contacted me for no such thing. Let alone me charge someone to attend a funeral. What people should do is be aware of who they’re contacting & not believe every Tom Dick & Hank who says they’re connected. BUT I’d appreciate it if y’all could quit wit da ?…. I been in dis game too long… Check my resume’ I’ve payed for funerals & sent kids to college… Charging 40k to attend a funeral ain’t even in my repertoire…. #KnockItOFF”
