Wiz Khalifa Announces New Album "Khalifa" At Golden Globes

Okay, so remember that video Wiz Khalifa dropped about a week ago? You know, the one where he announced his next album would be a sequel to his Warner Bros. debut project Rolling Papers? Well scratch that off, because the weed-rap superstar has announced that his next album will be called Khalifa. The announcement was officially made when Wiz was interviewed by E! News at last night’s Golden Globes, where he was nominated for his extremely popular single “See You Again”, a song that was on the Furious 7 soundtrack.

Khalifa, according to the rapper, will be dropping January 22nd. Wiz has also announced that he will be going on tour in 2016, following two major tours last year.

Choke No Joke is the noted film maker who had a tenure at BET, The Roc and other accolades. Now, the Native New Yorker is going at Funk Master Flex. According to Choke, “‘What Would You Do?’ is about Gate Keepers. The blockers that try to stop you from progressing. The second verse is about those who run into that brick wall and wonder why they can’t advance to the next stage of their career which they know is due to them.” The song seems to be mostly about Funkmaster Flex. We are not sure why this years-long beef is not coming to light now. Seems like they were working on something together (maybe a documentary on “The Tunnel,” the famous night club?)

Drake And Rihanna Are Working On A New Music Video

Although nobody has heard a single song from Rihanna’s ANTI outside of “BBHMM”, it looks like the singer has linked up with Drake for a new single for the highly anticipated album. There’s been a lot of tweets revealing brief snippets of the two’s new song, “Work.” The sound isn’t really good, but you can hear both Drake and Rihanna’s voice on the track.

The track isn’t the only thing that has been surfacing today. There’s also been word that the two artists will have a video for their new single. There’s already been tweets posted showing proof of on-the-set work in Los Angeles. According to XXL, the video features horseback riders and cops.

If you happen to be following Nicki Minaj’s Twitter account, then there’s a good chance you’re aware of the chaos going on her timeline today. The rap star’s been throwing tons of shade at Teen Mom star Farrah Abraham on the social media platform after viewing her behavior on the MTV show. According to Complex, Nicki had seen Abraham disrespect her mom a recent episode of Teen Mom OG, and went to Twitter to post her dismay for her actions.

To no one’s surprise, Abraham responded to Minaj’s tweet in a more lukewarm fashion

Dr. Dre Premiered New Music On Last Night's Episode of "The Pharmacy"

To get fans excited about the upcoming solo project, .Paak releases a new single featuring legendary Cleveland producer, Hi-Tek. The new track, titled “Come Down”, features a groovy bass-kick made from the half of Reflektion Eternal to follow .Paak’s dope lyrics and memorable chorus.

RZA Responds To Backlash Over His Comments About Black Youth's Clothes Scaring Cops

(AllHipHop News) RZA found himself facing serious backlash this week after the Wu-Tang Clan member made comments about black youth and police injustice. During an interview with Bloomberg, RZA suggested African-Americans should change their attire in order to not scare police officers into committing violent acts against them. Social media users began blasting RZA, and the 46-year-old Hip Hop artist was forced to respond on Twitter.

Although he has dropped instrumentals every Tuesday, Mike Will Made It hasn’t dropped any major projects lately since his mixtape Ransom. Recently, the Atlanta producer has hinted that he will be releasing the sequel to the 2015 mixtape sometime soon. Although there is not an official date for Ransom 2, the mixtape is supposed to drop sometime this month. The original Ransom mixtape was a compilation of songs all produced by Mike Will Made It, featuring several artists including ILoveMakonnen, Gucci Mane, Key!, and many other artists.

 

Chance The Rapper Raises Over $100,000 For Homeless

Congratulations to Chance the Rapper! The holidays may be over, but Chance just keeps on giving. According to HYPETRAK, the Chicago rapper recently raised over $100,000 for the city’s homeless through his “Warmest Winter” campaign. The money will be used to create self-warming coats that can turn to sleeping bags for homeless citizens in the Windy City during this year’s winter.

Although Chance’s fundraiser has surpassed its goal, it is still open for you to contribute through this link. The fundraiser will end January 13th.

Producer 40 Hints That "Views From The 6" Is Done

Everybody has been waiting on Drake’s highly anticipated album Views From the 6 to release, and now there’s a chance the project will come out sooner than we think. Yesterday, Drake’s right-hand man, OVO producer 40, went to Instagram to hint that Views is possibly finished.

Although this IG pic doesn’t tell fans much, it is very significant to the timing of when Views  From the 6 is suppose to drop. In November, Drake hinted that the album would drop early 2016, and with the confirmation of 40’s post, there’s a chance that the project is finished.

However, there has not been a release date announced for Drake’s new album…yet.

EXCLUSIVE: Master P Salutes Dubai Fans; Did Not Do New Years Show Due To Promoters & Terrorists Threats

(AllHipHop News) Today (Jan. 9), Percy “Master P” Miller, explained the details surrounding the cancellation of a New Years Eve appearance in Dubai, UAE. “I love my fans in Dubai, they have been loyal to me and No Limit,” said Master P, but declares that, “breach of contract,” is a reason why he didn’t visit Dubai for New Years Eve.

The family focused entrepreneur insists, “I normally don’t do shows on New Years, I’m with my family.” The opportunity to perform in Dubai on New Years Eve was pitched to P by a long-time associate. Eventually Master P was persuaded to do the show. For a time, P worked with a Dubai-based promoter. The promoter also wanted to add Snoop Dogg to the bill. The music mogul then agreed to reach out to the Doggfather’s camp.

“I talked to Snoop personally, and he said that he was booked for New Years in Las Vegas. My team reached out to Snoop’s management and tried to find other dates but they were not interested, which I informed the promoter,” said Master P.  On Dec. 4, Master P received a surprising text message from Snoop’s management team. Due to its content it instantly alarmed the veteran businessman. It contained a picture of a flier purporting that both he and Snoop were performing in Dubai on NYE.

The shrewd executive expressed, “I immediately contacted the promoter in Dubai and demanded a cease and desist on the unlawful use of Snoop’s name and likeness. I told the promoter that this was a total breach of contract and that we would handle this matter according to U.S. contractual laws. I informed the promoter that I would not be coming to Dubai for New Years due to the breach of contract.”

The promoter informed Master P that the scheduled show would continue with the international artists that were slated to perform. Get this — that same promoter then requested assistance from P to secure an American artist for the line-up. “He begged if I could reach out to Rihanna, Pharrell, or Flo Rida, which I did out of good faith but that didn’t work out either,” said Master P, “Flo Rida’s management team told me that the Dubai promoter only sent them part of the deposit and two days before the show.”  The Dubai promoter emailed them a cancellation notice of the show due to death in the family.

Disappointed that he didn’t get to perform for his supportive Dubai fans, Master P, closed with the following statement. “My advice to any artist performing internationally, get your total fee upfront. We have forwarded all adequate information to U.S. intelligence to assure International security. My attorneys are prepared to handle any legal matters and disputes that may arise out of this.  As a business man, my intentions always are to do good business locally or internationally.”

Drake is In Trouble With The NCAA………..Again

The Kentucky Wildcats Basketball  Program has reported a NCAA violation involving who else but their biggest rap fan, Drake. According to Kentucky Sports, the Toronto rap star has allegedly committed a “Level III” violation involving “preferential treatment” with one of the Universiy of Kentucky’s basketball players.

According to the report, the violation happened at an after-party following Drake’s recent concert in Chicago. Someone from Drake’s management recognized an undisclosed UK ball player, and invited him to meet with the star. The two talked for three-to-four minutes, and took a picture. The player, currently undisclosed, may possibly be UK guard Tyler Ulis, who ended up posting a picture with Drake that same night. Ulis is from Chicago.

Because of the minor violation, Ulis was deemed ineligible for a while. However, he was able to return to practice and play with his teammates in October.

This isn’t the first time Drake has been in trouble with the NCAA. In 2014, he was issued a cease and desist letter from following his appearance at Blue Madness that same year.

The University has not commented on the recent violation

In an effort to honor tastemakers and innovators throughout the city, Queen Bobbi, iYoVisuals and the prestigious Wire Road Studios united to delivered “30 for 30,” a night of celebration of elite creative professionals throughout Houston’s entertainment community.

In addition to lite bites and networking, the event also took the time to recognize industry leaders including 93.7 music director Devi Dev, Barry Coffing of Springboard Festival, celebrated director Mr. Boomtown, who has directed videos for Gucci Mane, Slim Thug, Z Ro, Kirko Bangz, Yo Gotti, Birdman and many more., Swishahouse veteran G Dash and Emmy award-winning engineer Danny Reeves were also honored at the event and are pictured below.

The highlight of the evening came while recognizing LMG CEO D. Will, who was awarded a special plaque in commemoration of the platinum single “Nasty Freestyle,” the result of a collaboration with artist T-Wayne and We Run It ENT. Having inked a distribution deal with 300, the honor served as a testament that hard work does indeed pay off.
