Rick Ross has been sticking to his story of 50 Cent’s son applying for an internship with MMG. 50 Cent’s son, Marquise, has remained quiet during most of the back and forth, but now 50 Cent’s baby mama Shaniqua ( @Shaniqua_tompkins), took to her Instagram to let people know that Roazy is allegedly lying. She said,
“I don’t know why you insist on trying to drag my son in this circus you have going on with his father. You and God know that my son has never applied to your establishment. You’re trying to associate him with a father whom he hasn’t spoken to in years.”
She also told him to speak facts not fiction, if he even knows how. This is definitely a jab as it’s always been said Ross’ whole story and persona is one big lie.
August Alsina’s sophomore debut, This Thing Called Life, is slated to drop next week (Dec. 11) and he is surely excited for his new project to hit the streets. But he was recently hit with some heartbreaking news. He is losing his eyesight.
In an interview with Billboard, the 23-year-old discussed his degenerative eye disease diagnosis, which was determined in May.
“I went to see a few other doctors, but that was it — I had to accept it,” he said. “It was a very humbling experience. You take that for granted, waking up and being able to see.”
His condition is steadily worsening despite having surgery to try and correct his vision.
“I’ma keep squinting until God takes my vision completely,” he said.
The New Orleans crooner’s health was in jeopardy last year also when he suffered a series of seizures due to exhaustion.
“I’m a sickly man. I know that all of that has got to be for a reason. All this crazy s### didn’t happen to me just to happen.”

Seasoned New Orleans rap veteran and Jet Life ringleader Curren$y recently spoke with The Breakfast Club about his new album Canal Street Confidential. The project features a host of bangers including features from Wiz, Future, Wayne, Lloyd, August Alsina, Ty Dolla $ign, Fiend and Cornerboy P.
In the hilarious interview Curren$y recalls his come up from the 504 Boyz on, describing his movement over the course of his career. From the Young Money years with Wayne to his records with long time friend Wiz Khalifa, Curren$y has been around in the game. He’s a “good person,” as Angela Yee says in the interview so go support the homie and his album releasing today (December 4th). 50 Cent still can’t resist the petty itch! 50 posted a video of what would’ve been Ja Rule’s reaction to Charlie Sheen announcing his HIV status. The video cut in with a joke from Dave Chappelle showing Dave saying,
“Who gives a f*ck about what Ja Rule thinks at a time like this.”
Ja Rule told 50,
“I see u see you still mad about that ass whopping #Princess50.”
Ja said 50 is just mad about getting “beat down” back in the day. They will never let it go. LOL.
Jeezy recently sat down with CNN to talk politics and gun control. The Church In These Streets rapper touched on guns “always being a part of [his] upbringing.” He also discussed how the media picks apart certain gun-related tragedies and finds different reasoning behind violent acts according to the suspect’s religion, race or social life.
“It’s not the guns,” he said. “It’s the people who have the guns. It’s the people who have emotional and mental problems that are going out here and reacting and taking lives without thinking about it.”
He also spoke about Americans being “born entrepreneurs,” marijuana being legal yet people still being imprisoned over it and more. Watch the clip below.
Erykah Badu has responded to Iggy Azalea not being too thrilled with her “discrediting” her 2014 accomplishments.
At Sunday’s (Nov. 29) 2015 Soul Train Awards, Badu took a jab at the “Black Widow” rapper, saying “No no no, you can come, ’cause what you’re doing is definitely not rap,” while acting as if she was on the phone with Iggz.
Iggy took to Twitter to respond to Badu’s joke, tweeting “We are days from 2016, but i came online today and saw its still cool to try and discredit my 2014 accomplishments. LOL, f###### hell.” The Fat Belly Bella took notice and made light of the situation.
Peep her tweet below.

After opening up for Fabolous a host of big acts across the Midwest, Detroit’s Leek Hustle and his 100MG crew have developed a movement respected for their ambition and street acumen.
In his most recent video for “Trappin Forreal” the Detroit trap rapper shares his world through the eyes of video director Jerry PHD who also directed Dej Loaf’s “Try Me” visual.
“The video director Jerry PHD also shot Dej Loaf’s “Try Me,” we shot the video on Detroit’s West-Side, and just tried to bring my ‘hood to life,” Leek Hustle explained.
Leek Hustle’s Hustle Mann project is due out at the top of the year and compliments a grimey line up of Detroit talent including Doughboyz Cashout, Icewear Vezzo, Tone Tone and of course Dej Loaf who are all coming with dope music. We are expecting big things from Detroit rap this year, watch out. Word to Hex!
You really don’t want to get on The Game’s bad side.
Last night (Dec. 3), rapper Stitches, who has beef with Game, was trying to get into Miami’s Story Nightclub. He was then denied entry, and he believes that the “100” rapper told security not to let him in. The Miami rapper waited for Game outside of the club, and things turned ugly quite quickly.
TMZ reports that when the Game and his manager exited the club, the manager punched Stitches in the face. Before it could turn into a brawl, the police tased his manager and detained Stitches.
The Game and Stitches began to have beef after Stitches posted pics of what were thought to be fake direct messages via Instagram with Game. Those posts are now deleted.
Watch the incident below.
Before he reached the age of 20, Sheek Louch had already cashed his first check as a major label artist. The East Coast representative’s two decade career would go on to include recording songs with legendary emcees like The Notorious B.I.G., DMX, and Ghostface Killah.
As he releases his 6th studio album Silverback Gorilla 2 today, AllHipHop.com tapped Sheek for the latest installment in the “My Five Firsts” series. One third of the lyrical rap trio known as The Lox reflects back on a few memorable moments from his life.
Find out what Don Gorilla recalls about stepping into the studio with Biggie, witnessing the rise of X, hitting the stage with the Wu-Tang Clan, and experiencing two of his favorite LPs for the first time.
I think the song was “You’ll See.” That was the recording, but we went to Hot 97 and spit a bunch of times. But basically it was like a kid in the candy store, from recording with him to walking in the studio for the first time.
Seeing them all in that room – we were walking past the room like we were scared to go in. You know how a motherf*cker looks in the room while he’s walking by? That was us three looking at B.I.G. in the room. B.I.G. used to always tell us he’d bring anybody to hear us rap. He’d bring Hov and all these different people every night to hear these three new dudes he got.
Then when we laced the track, it was amazing. Especially, doing “Last Day” on his [Life After Death] album. He pulled us into his truck at a show. He said, “Listen to this. I laid my verse. I want y’all to get on it.” I was like, “When? Where?”
That’s a little tricky, because X was a star to us in Yonkers before y’all met him. Before y’all heard of DMX, he was popping where we’re from. He was that n*gga whether it be music or doing some other sh*t. So we all knew of him. He just didn’t blow yet. When he finally did, we were all proud.
You have to realize, X was a star in his own right. Before Dee and Waah started Ruff Ryders, they were our managers. We happened to go over to Bad Boy and get the deal. We brought our managers on. That’s when they went to do their own thing, and they had this artist named DMX. But we knew him forever. By the time the world heard him, it was like, “That’s our man right there!”
I probably bought a car and put the rest in the bank. After moving to different labels, it was actually nothing. But the first time, I think I bought a Lincoln Navigator. You know the first sh*t we do when we get money. [laughs] It’s different now.
I remember the first time performing with Ghost. We were doing tours together before we came up with the idea to make that [Wu Block] record. I remember the first time we had RZA, Method Man, Chef [Raekwon], and everybody on stage. We did some shows in New York. I’m a big fan of the Wu. Them boys are legends to us. We used to borrow Mary J. Blige’s Range Rover and ride around listening to the Clan. Salute to them.
Black Moon’s Enta Da Stage? I was working at Staples. I’d get off the bus with my big down coat and headphones on. I was walking from the bus stop to the crib, cutting through the hood. I remember that era in my life listening to Enta Da Stage. Hearing Biggie’s Life After Death, I was like, “Wow, this is such a well put together project.”

(AllHipHop News) Season 2 of Love & Hip Hop Hollywood sparked a lot of discussion about homosexuality and homophobia in Hip Hop. The VH1 series featured the first two openly gay male cast members – Miles “Siir” Brock and Milan Christopher.
Milan recently did an interview with VladTV where he was asked to respond to previous comments made by Lord Jamar. The Brand Nubian emcee suggested homosexuals where not allowed in Hip Hop culture and individuals that identify as gay have a mental disease.
“It’s ironic, because if you follow the Hip Hop culture, where it comes from, and why it sprouted – for an oppressed person to try to oppress another person is kind of crazy to actually hear him say those things,” Milan replied.
He continued, “One of the things that was interesting about what [Jamar] was saying is the mental disease [comment]. That’s where I’m just… It’s hate. It’s a thin line between having an opinion about something and basically saying things that will make another person feel less than who you are.”
He went on to compare saying gay people have no place in Hip Hop is the same as saying people of other races or women have no place in Hip Hop. While he did not state he believes Drake is gay, Milan also offered the Toronto rhymer’s non-street approach to rapping as an example that a gay person could succeed in the genre. In addition, the reality star claimed he personally knows gay male rappers that choose to present themselves as straight to the public.

(AllHipHop News) According to reports, Nicki Minaj’s older brother has been arrested for raping a 12-year-old child. Jelani Maraj was arraigned in Long Island on first-degree rape and first-degree course of sexual conduct against a child. The 37-year-old’s bail was set at $100,000, and he was released from the Nassau County jail.
Nicki (born Onika Maraj) has yet to comment publicly about the arrest. The hit maker wrote about her brother on Instagram a few months ago when she posted about Jelani’s recent marriage. Minaj wrote:
I would cross the ocean for u. I would go & bring u the moon. Promise u. For u I will. I love my brother so much man. Can’t believe I cried during his wedding and his first dance like a punk. May God bless him and his union. Tonight has been one of my favorite nights of all time. I do anything to see my brothers smile.
(AllHipHop News) The sixth time was not the charm for Brooklyn’s Bobby Shmurda. The “Hot N*gga” performer’s bail application was denied once again by a Manhattan Supreme Court judge.
It was reported Shmurda (born Ackquille Pollard) was supposed to have a good chance of being released on $2 million bail after a bond package was presented that included his aunt’s four New York real estate properties and other family members working closely with a bondsman.
Shmurda has now spent over 350 days in jail since his arrest in December 2014. The now 21-year-old New Yorker was hit with conspiracy, drugs and weapons possession charges. Fellow GS9 rapper Rowdy Rebel and 13 other people were taken into custody as well. Shmurda’s next court date is scheduled for January 11.
(AllHipHop News) J. Cole is set to launch 2016 off with a special presentation on HBO. The North Carolina bred emcee’s Forest Hills Drive: Homecoming will air on the cable network on Saturday, January 9.
The showcase is being described as part concert film, part backstage pass. Viewers will get to see Cole perform all 13 songs from his platinum-selling album 2014 Forest Hills Drive. In addition, Roc Nation boss Jay Z and OVO rhymer Drake will make guest appearances.
After his performance piece debuts on HBO in January, Cole’s fans can then possibly expect another big reveal the following month. The Dreamville leader hinted on his recent release “Black Friday” that another project could be arriving in February.
J. Cole Forest Hills Drive: Homecoming was directed by Scott Lazer. Subscribers can watch the show on HBO, HBO GO, and HBO NOW.
(AllHipHop News) Bang Em Smurf is finally breaking down why his business relationship with Rick Ross fell through. According to the Queens native, he tried to connect an artist with Maybach Music Group, but for some reason communication between Smurf and Rozay broke down. Mikey T The Movie Star spoke with Smurf about his issues with the MMG boss.
“It was supposed to be a few things that were supposed to get done that didn’t get done. Ross gave me his word to do certain sh*t that didn’t get done,” said Smurf. “He might not have liked the little homie’s work ethic or whatever the situation might have been. It ain’t work out, but it’s like he broke ties with n*ggas after that.”
Smurf also claimed he did not receive any compensation for his contribution to Ross’ 2009 Gold album Deeper Than Rap. When they two crossed paths in Trinidad, Ross allegedly walked past Smurf without speaking.
“His word is no good,” added Smurf. “We ain’t mad. I’m doing excellent on my side. You see me shining.”

On Twitter, Chief Keef said the following and then deleted it.
“We need to kill all Law Enforcement!” Y’all down? F*** it! Time to make the world end.”
“Why did they shoot that little boy down like that? On the side walk! I couldn’t even watch it.”
“Aye @BarackObama Man What U Gonna Do About This Man? For real I don’t like it I didn’t say anything about anything else but this isn’t right.”
The fact that he deleted the tweets, suggests that he is not ready to end the world or ride on cops. But, it is pretty cool that he is really set to FEEL SOMETHING about what is going on in the world. Peep the tweets below.
By now I’m entirely convinced that the various hospitals of Atlanta are in total cahoots with each other in their practices in the dark arts. Obviously Atlanta is a populous place with a lively culture, but that still doesn’t seem to account ridiculous amount of talent the city seems to produce on a steady basis. I’ve never really cared for Illuminati-esque conspiracy talk, and honestly feel that if you are willing to spend hours and hours of your time rewinding music video clips in the attempt to prove that some rapper’s random hand gesture is evidence of evil, then you should be sent required to play for the 76ers in eternal damnation. But not even I can deny that doctors in Hotlanta are clearly giving newborns some illegal antidote…no Travis Scott.

The latest talent to join the never-ending ATLien galaxy Killer Mike-Cyhi the Prynce-Soulja Boy-Jeezy-Future-Outkast-B.o.B-Gucci Mane-Rae Sremmurd-Young Dro-Cee Lo Green-K Camp-Rich Homie Quan-Migos-T.I.-2 Chainz-Bubba Sparxxx (ok I’ll stop) is Atlanta’s own Apollo. If your interweb game is strong, you may already know that Apollo is one half of superHERO, a crew I wrote about a few months ago in this very column upon the release of their surprisingly solid The Middle album. I originally wrote:
Beyond the pizzazz effect (after all, what really is pizzazz?) superHero are brashly pushing the boundaries on what hip hop can be by ushering in an extra level of aggression to make their beats all the more engaging, and furthermore, inspiring. With The Middle, essentially, superHero have optimized their lyrical content and implementation of hooks to put together a package the world has yet to witness. There is something strangely gravitational about what superHero do on The Middle, making for some of the most enjoyable hip hop I’ve heard this year.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4aT7Rq0GILU
(I’m posting this video again because this was my jam for a cool second, and also, it’s my column and I can do whatever the f### I want).
Historically, the problem with duos that never really blow up is that the crew itself is identifiable, but the members themselves are not. Outkast is a perfect example of a group with two charismatic members who everyone knows. Like a tried, true, and wise ATLien, Apollo is avoiding that common pitfall by really giving the world an introduction to himself with The Otherside: An Art Exhibit a solo dolo expenditure…no Cudi, and especially not the wack ass version with Kendrick. But I digress.
By far my favorite component of the Apollo experience is just how evident it is that he is a true student of the game. At times he pulls from his bigger brothers Andre 3000 and Big Boi, and at other times he elects for a Kanye feel. Of course the ignorant will disagree, but the artist who truly studies the craft and pulls from so many disparate directions ultimately ends up creating something wholly original. And just superHERO’s The Middle pushed the boundaries of hip hop to ingenious places at times, Apollo is once again not only that his artistry cannot be handcuffed to genre-labels but even in the immensely crowded talent pool of ATL, the 21 year old is demanding attention.
Let’s face it, deep down everyone wants at least one time to tell their homies “MC ____ is about to blow!” and then finally watch it happen. Something tells me you would be making a wise bet with Apollo. I don’t always use the phrase “this s### goes” but…well, just play track 6 “Rolling” and decide for yourself.
And lucky for us, Apollo isn’t stingy. You can stream and download the entire record below.
