The alarm goes off at 6:30 a.m. Miller slowly wakes, then sits up in the bed, blonde hair mussed.

He throws the covers off his bare, pale legs & bounds barefoot over the hardwood floors into the bathroom. He grabs his toothbrush & toothpaste, then turns on the shower. Miller strips out of his boxers & steps into the running water, dental tools in hand. After taking care of his hygiene needs, he gets dressed for work in his best, an Armani navy blue pinstripe suit, a crisp matching blue button down shirt complete with a sleek blue Armani tie. Lastly he reaches into a battered shoe box & came out with a pair of scuffed black Rockports. He observes the new scuff for a moment. Never seen that before. “F**ck it,” Miller says under his breath, stepping into them and tightens the shoe strings.

He grabs his keys off the lone table in his small apartment, jets down the steps and out of the front door. He approaches the crowded bike rack in front of his building, kneeling down to unlock his front tire, when he sees that it’s flat. “F**K.” Miller silently debates whether he should try to patch the tire or walk to work. Since the weather is uncommonly nice for an early April morning, he decides to hoof it, detecting the faint smell of something burning in the air.

The sidewalks aren’t crowded yet so Miller starts off on a stroll, instead of half-running in a throng of humanity. There’s a steady stream of bike riders in the freshly painted bike lane, everything from grown women in skirts riding tricked out dirt bikes to men in suits on tandem bikes. He walks down the street, turning his head to look whenever an occasional car passes, always with every seat full, sometimes with five or even six occupants. Suburban commute. Miller sighs, remembering that life. Riding, b*tch in the back and at times chauffeuring four or five other muthaf**kas to work. He’s been trying to sell his car for over a year with no takers. Miller unleashes a weary sigh, just thinking about it and steps over a homeless person sleeping in the middle of the sidewalk. He momentarily thinks about waking him up, but decides against it. He hasn’t got time to deal with an irate vagrant. Let the Trump Brigade deal with him.

Up ahead he can see one of the Trump Brigade’s urban tank parked in the street facing the virtually nonexistent traffic and agents doing their morning “STREET SWEEP,” dressed in all black tactical gear, complete with ski-masks and headgear fitted with face-cages and tinted visors.

They look like modified black football helmets. Miller walks closer to them, he can see them better, as they use their collapsible batons to poke the few people sleeping on the pavement. Their black jumpsuits are torn, dirty, & blood stained. They’ve probably been out clearing the streets for weeks during the day, and at night going on illegal immigrant raids with ICE & Homeland Security agents, among other things. He shakes his head, continuing on, unconsciously reaching for his wallet, just in case the federal police want to see his passport card. As Miller reaches them, the agent impatiently waves him by, hardly looking up from his iPad as he checked the citizenship info from a homeless man’s biochip. Being a Caucasian male certainly has its privileges, Miller thought, the voice in his head sounding like a sarcastic Bill Maher. He hadn’t been chipped yet because he hadn’t had any contact with the law.

ironside hex

He gets a wiff of a foul aroma as he walks by the officers and the homeless they’ve rounded up. The smells of sweat, blood, body odor, and human feces mingle with the faint acrid smell of smoke & he wrinkles his nose and gags, not sure if the stench was the homeless or the overworked agents. The Trump Brigade. Their real name is THE FEDERAL LAW ENFORCEMENT BRIGADE. At the beginning they were just a rumor, shrouded in secrecy. When Trump first introduced them in 2018, he vaguely stated that these agents were here to enforce federal laws. People were confused. Doesn’t the FBI handle the enforcement of federal laws? What the Hell was this? What are these guys here for? Where are they from? Why do they hide their faces? They were here to enforce Trump’s Laws, which changed daily, with little or no warning.

Rumors swirled around the formation of the teams. Some say they were plucked from various federal, state and local law enforcement agencies and that made the most sense. After they had been around for six months, people started to say that they were actually plucked from various prisons. After seeing their behavior that made sense too. By 2019 there had been over 200 brutality claims filed in local police precincts countrywide. The FBI started an investigation into alleged civil rights violations by the Trump Brigade. The problem was, “Who do you take your findings to? Who do u indict or subpoena?” The members of the Trump Brigade were totally anonymous and answered only to their commanders who answered directly to the president himself. They didn’t even know each other. They met up with their masks already on, and had been wearing them since they began training. They answered to a number, like prison inmates. They were so secretive that one Trump Brigade member could be standing in line at the grocery store with another one and neither would know it, even though they were side by side kicking in someone’s teeth the night before. They were even paid in cash.

Miller looked around, as more people started to come out of their homes, some riding bikes, some joining him on the sidewalk. Almost none getting in cars. He saw a woman in a business suit get into an older model blue sedan, then saw a portly man in dirty overalls walk out of a house across the street and join her. Car pool. Miller looked at the time display on his iPhone with the shattered screen. He needed a new one badly but iPhones were more than $1000 now. He quickened his step, crossing in the middle of the block. He didn’t bother to look both ways, there were no cars on the street anyway, just bikes. As Miller crossed he, saw a building decorated with graffiti. Most of it was a mishmash of gang graf and profanity written haphazardly all over each other. It looked like the renderings of a bipolar child with a box of crayons with too much time on it’s hands.

Except for one tag.

U.K. Rapper Skepta Denied Entry Into U.S.; Lollapalooza Gig Axed

(AllHipHop News) U.S. fans of U.K. Grime rapper Skepta are going to have to catch him at another date, because he has been denied entry into the United States.

Skepta was supposed to perform at Lollapalooza in Chicago this Friday, July 29th, but organizers took to Twitter to announce the plug had been pulled on his performance.

“Due to ongoing Visa issues, Skepta will not perform at Lollapalooza this year,” Lollapalooza organizers said via Twitter earlier this morning.

Skepta has yet to issue a statement on the cancellations, but it seems to be an ongoing problem.

In April, the Boy Better Know representative missed a high-profile performance at Coachella and several other dates in the US, after his Visa was denied.

Instead of Skepta, Chicago native and Savemoney co-founder Joey Purp will
perform on Perry’s Stage at 2:30 PM.

French Montana Says Drake Wasn’t Thinking About Joe Budden For “No Shopping” Verse (VIDEO/POLL)

(AllHipHop News) Joe Budden has been going hard at Drake under the assumption the OVO leader was sending subliminal shots at him. In particular, the New Jersey rhymer hit Drake with a back-to-back preemptive strike of diss records.

Budden believed French Montana’s “No Shopping” would include a few disrespectful Drizzy bars, so he dropped “Making Of A Murdered (Part 1)” and “Wake” before the French record was released.

“No Shopping” was premiered this weekend during OVO Sound Radio. Drake opened his verse with “Pump, pump, pump it up. She got a good head on her, but I pump it up. I’m not a one-hit wonder, they know all my stuff.”

The words seemed to be a clear reference to Budden’s 2003 Top 40 hit “Pump It Up.” Budden then released his third diss record, “Afraid,” directed at Drake.

However, French is now saying “No Shopping” was not meant to be about the Slaughterhouse member.

“I don’t think we did that record thinking about Joe Budden,” Montana told MTV. “It’s not that I don’t think – I know that for a fact.”

He later added, “I don’t think we ever went in the studio with negative energy, talking about somebody. I feel like we just work and have fun.”

Controversial Artwork Stems Interest For Upcoming Artist Evan Barlow – Stream “Fabrics”

Evan Barlow FabricsThere aren’t many independent artists competing on this level however, AllHipHop.com stumbled across this socially conscious artist on the rise while in LA for the Epic Fest and decided to support his movement.

Evan Barlow has been making some noise on the market with music alongside, Beyonce’s cousin Shanica Knowles on there record “Window” as seen on GlobalGrind.com as well as being seen in the mix with Machine Gun Kelly, Big Boy, Trinidad James and several other artists.

Evan releases his highly anticipated new mixtape “FABRICS,” much to the delight of his ever-increasing fan base.

The Richmond-bred rapper and recovering drug addict boldly wields his undeniable talents to shed light on the struggle, despair and ultimate victory over drug addiction, while advocating for everyone’s freedom of choice to live a better life and become the best version of themselves, despite what society may tell them.

“We named my upcoming project ‘FABRICS,’ because fabrics, distinct from textile materials are the basic structure of something, and for my project I chose not to be limited to an ideology that my music had to fit a certain format or sound,” Evan explains. “So music in general was the basic structure of this project, not the format of the music.”

The East Coast artist says his fans can expect an unexpected sound on this body of work.

“What makes ‘FABRICS’ unique is the genre-crossing. We have straight up Hip-Hop tracks transitioning into alternative tracks, raw rapping, then melodic singing. The song ‘Left Hand Jump’ has an Alt-J, mixed with a House of Pain sample, underlined by Nirvana. That’s unique in itself,” the rising star explained.

Evan worked with an incredible group of artists to bring “FABRICS” to life, including the talented producer Bink (Kanye West, Jay Z), the phenomenal Pop Wansel Producers Some Randoms, Chally who is signed to Timbaland, Macklemore’shorn players Greg Kramer and Ouwor Arunga, as well as Andrew Hypes, Will Perry and more.

“A lot of key people here. Also, just the fact we did what we weren’t supposed to and risked being washed out with the people who have no image. The whole point of ‘Fabrics’ was to not have an image. We wanted to see how far we could run with not sticking to one genre,” Evan unveils.

The Richmond, Virginia native has creatively coined his unique sound “the music of the day after tomorrow” and is known for effortlessly blending genres such as Rock, Pop, Alternative and Hip-Hop for a signature result that resounds with a millennial age.

“Ghostbusters” Leaves Something To Be Desired When It Comes To Its Darkest Sister

To be fair, the new “Ghostbusters” remake, starring Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones has gotten a lot of flak – much of it even before there was anything to actual view in order to have a valid objection.

First, many had a problem with four women replacing the original four men.  In the case of that objection, apparently phallocentrism is alive and thriving on social media.

Next, people had a problem with the fact that out of four brand new Ghostbusters, the only one with no scientific training or otherwise well educated background is played by SNL’s Leslie Jones, who is of African American descent while McCarthy, Wiig and McKinnon are all of Caucasian decent.

Sure, this was what it was in the original with Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis and Ernie Hudson, but seeing as Hudson has gone on record via Entertainment Weekly with his disappointment on the downgrading of the qualifications of his character as the one African American Ghostbuster, it would seem that if they could change the gender in this remake other changes could have been considered.

While the gender switcheroo was surely a purposeful choice by “Ghostbusters” director Paul Feig (“Spy,” “Bridesmaids,” “The Heat”), Columbia Pictures, Village Roadshow Pictures and executive producer Dan Aykroyd, in the way that Hollywood is much more unconsciously biased than it would like to admit, Jones’ character’s lack of an scientific education likely wasn’t so much thought out as it was just done, business as usual.

However, like the legal system, ignorance does not necessarily get you off with just a warning.

Seeing as “Ghostbusters” really isn’t all of that funny in the viewing – for a myriad of reasons that are wholly independent of race or gender – it more than deserves to go down for the maximum.

Perhaps if the movie was funnier, the clunky steps that Feig makes to address Jones’ character’s status as the darkest berry in the bunch might be forgiven.

In a few one-liners that feel more tacked on than organically funny, the movie points out that Jones’ character, as an ordinary black woman, doesn’t fit in with most New Yorkers’ idea of an acceptable crime fighter –  in direct comparison to her fellow Ghostbusters.

In particular, there is a hackneyed mosh pit bit that takes place during a Death Metal concert.

The bit is obviously intended for laughs but really it just falls flat, making you cringe if you take it from the point of view of Jones’ character.

That the script then tries to give Jones’ character a bit of a “see, I can contribute scientifically” moment towards the climax of the movie also seems to be trying a bit too hard to be genuine.

However, if “Ghostbusters” fails in redeeming itself on the racial tip, it also doesn’t do much for the way we ought to view the working class.

While on the surface “Ghostbusters” seems to disparage those who treat people in the service industry badly, at the same time upon closer inspection, the audience is directed to see most of these characters as weird ne’er do wells that likely deserve to be thrown under the bus and worse if possible.

Of course, it isn’t the job of “Ghostbusters” or any piece of entertainment to be all aces when it comes to that horrible buzz word “political correctness.”

Indeed, “political correctness” has been the absolute death of many comedic endeavors.  However, if you are going to flirt with or just plain ignore the norm of what’s “correct”, then it better be incredibly funny and entertaining.

Unfortunately “Ghostbusters,” littered with some tepid cameos and burdened with a general watered down feeling to the comedy, can’t make the grade

Marques Houston has not really be in the spotlight very much but he sure is a star. And that is why we are talking about him right now. Apparently, Marques Houston is a full-time Witness of Jehovah! Selena Gomez Weighs In On Kanye and Kim’s Feud With Taylor – But Gets Dissed For Silence On Police Violence

(AllHipHop News) Selena Gomez has vented her frustrations with the “disappointing” showbiz industry as the feud reignites between Kim Kardashian and Taylor Swift.

The “Shake It Off” singer has been in a long-running war of words with rapper Kanye West and his wife Kim ever since he released his track Famous earlier this year and used the line, “I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex… I made that b##ch famous.”

Taylor’s team maintained that Kanye never called her to get approval and she wasn’t aware of all the lyrics, but Kim sensationally released a series of Snapchat videos on Sunday night which showed Kanye’s original phone conversation with Taylor about the song.

Selena, a firm member of Taylor’s ‘squad,’ appeared to defend her best pal by slamming stars for using their fame to spread hate between celebrities rather than focus on important current affairs, such as the recent shooting in the U.S. and the terror attack in Nice, France.

“There are more important things to talk about… Why can’t people use their voice for something that f##king matters?” Selena tweeted. “Truth is last thing we need right now is hate, in any form… This industry is so disappointing yet the most influential smh (shaking my head).”

However, social media users then turned on Selena, noting that she has kept largely silent on issues such as the Black Lives Matter movement and police brutality.

She responded to one user in a now-deleted tweet, which reads, “oh lol (laugh out loud) so that means if I hashtag something I save lives? No – I could give two f##ks about ‘sides’. You don’t know what I do.”

Since Kim released the videos, Taylor issued a statement insisted she never heard the song and was not made aware of the “that b##ch” lyric. She wrote, “Being falsely painted as a liar when I was never given the full story or played any part of the song is character assassination.”

Katy Perry, who is considered another Taylor rival, also seemed to reference the drama by promoting her new song Rise with the caption, “#RISE above it all,” as the drama was unfolding.

British singer Lily Allen also got involved by blasting the stars for setting a bad example to their fans, tweeting that the drama “makes the internet feel a lot like school tonight. All involved are too old tbh (to be honest).”

Long, of Kansas City went on a cop killing spree on his 29th birthday Sunday in which he killed three police officers and wounded three others.

According to TMZ, Mayweather and his brand felt the need to distance themselves because Long had actually previously posted several video rants to YouTube in which he was sporting a TMT hat and a TMT sticker on his chair.

“Gavin Long is not member of TMT by any means,” Floyd’s rep stated. “Floyd doesn’t want the TMT brand to be affiliated with the violent act Gavin has caused and neither Floyd nor anyone else from TMT knows him.”

“He is just a random guy who supported the brand but we don’t support him and what he did to those police officers,” the rep for Floyd Mayweather added.

Long was eventually murdered by police in a shootout following the shootings.
