Forget 50 Cent and Drake, Norm Kelly has beef with Rick Ross now that the Miami boss has issues with Drake.
Toronto Councillor went at Meek Mill as he was embroiled in beef with hometown favorite Drake and now he’s coming at Rozay.
On Twitter, he said – seemingly in a rap form, “The fakest boss that you seen thus far/ End the rap career & just stick to Wing Stop /Another break from views will give yo camp a big loss.”
Rozay has yet to respond to the politician.
The whole hilarious ordeal started when Ross released “Color Money,” which responded to Drake’s “Back To Back.” At that time, Kelly said that Meek was no longer welcome in Toronto.
Atlanta has been giving the Hip Hop game hell for 20 years. The Southern city’s current command of rap music is headed by numerous familiar names found all over the radio dial. However, the shift in A-town’s rap culture could also be attributed to one rhymer that may not be getting overwhelming love on the national level just yet.
The rapper/producer who goes by the moniker Key! has served as a leading figure in Atlanta’s underground scene for several years. So much so, the Eastside representative believes more high-profile artists have mirrored his style.
“I’ve been out too long. I guess everybody’s like, ‘He ain’t gonna pop, so his swags for free,’” Key tells AllHipHop.com. “I hear it from a majority of the music from young, up-and-coming artists. These artists that just became major who were underground artists last year.”
The indictment of theft is not hard to believe. An 18-year-old Key first began making considerable noise around town back in 2009 when he co-founded the Hip Hop collective known as Two-9 along with Curtis Williams.
Key eventually broke off from Two-9 to pursue a solo career. The group went on to sign with Mike Will Made It’s EarDrummers Entertainment, but the camaraderie among the original members still holds until this day.
“We made it up, so no matter what the situation may be in the music industry, those are still my brothers,” says Key about his lyrical kin.
The Key/Two-9 alliance was recently renewed on the tracks “Lord Help” and “Over” off the October29 EP. The latter song was heavily influenced by the famous New Orleans foursome of the Hot Boyz (Lil Wayne, Juvenile, B.G. & Turk).
Cash Money Record’s late 1990’s breakout stars played a major role in providing the prototype for a generation of rappers raised below the Mason–Dixon line. The hook for “Over” even pays homage to Wayne’s debut solo single “Tha Block Is Hot.”
“That’s what we listened to growing up. That’s all we had. That’s what we loved. It’s just that’s literally all we had,” recalls Key. “In Atlanta, the Hot Boys were like Gods. When we were super-young, Lil Wayne was the one we could relate to.”
Some of Key’s earliest memories are of his youth growing up on Memorial Drive. The DeKalb County locale would only serve as a temporary home as he and his family relocated throughout the metropolitan area. The constant moving did provide a unique perspective for the future performer.
“I got to see a lot of stuff that a lot of people where I’m from don’t get to see. A lot of people from Memorial Drive don’t go off of Memorial Drive,” says Key.
His start in making music began around the age of 15. Key (a pre-rap nickname given to him by his grandmother) had dropped out of school, so he used his free time to craft beats. Once he got bored with that task, the teenager started focusing more on putting words together.
It took nearly a decade before Key found himself on a single that expanded across the internet and beyond. That moment happened last fall when the OG Maco (now Maco Mattox) collab “U Guessed It” exploded.
The Brandon Thomas-produced turn-up anthem went on to collect over 12 million SoundCloud plays. While his appearance on “U Guessed It” shined a light on his growing movement, Key is not a fan of the Give Em Hell cut.
“It was corny. I don’t even listen to that song like that. I like my verse. [laughs] When we dropped it, it was just a party hit. That’s the only time I would listen to that song – at a party or when we performed it,” states Key.
Maco actually is not that fond of being solely connected to the song either. The 2015 XXL Freshman relayed to AHH in August, “I was never going to be the ‘U Guessed It’ rapper. My music before ‘U Guessed It’ was expansive and lyrical. My music after ‘U Guessed It’ was expansive, but it’s like they don’t want to see that. People just don’t want to accept more than what got you to a certain place.”
Even though their initial hit has apparently worn thin for both of them, Key and Maco maintain a musical association. The duo recently reconnected for a day in Los Angeles where they recorded some more songs together. The session generated the new collaboration “Street Fighter” which is expected to appear on Key’s upcoming album Screaming Dreams.
“Street Fighter” is one of over 400 tracks Key recorded for his debut studio album. His time in LA has comprised of making 4 to 5 songs a day. Key’s team is now assisting him in reducing the number of songs down to fit on an LP, but the recording process is complete.
“Imagine having 400 songs, and you have to pick 12,” says Key. “This is my first album. We want to make it to where I do numbers independently, before I even talk to the majors.”
Presently, Key is building his brand as an indie artist. He is interested in possibly entering into a partnership with a major label, but nearly every component of the Key enterprise is controlled by the artist at the moment. The entertainer sets up his own bookings and runs his own business email account. Anything posted on his social media pages were uploaded directly by Key.
While Key’s ascension took place during the Digital Age, his approach to using Twitter and Instagram is not the same as many of his celebrity peers. A combined 44,000 users follow him on the two sites, but Key follows exactly zero people. So what is with the lack of follow backs?
“I just keep up with what’s going on with me. That’s all I should be focused on right now,” explains Key. “I feel like everybody in Hip Hop is focused on the wrong thing. It’s really gay that they focus on each other so much. They act like they’re on Twitter for b*tches, but they’re on Twitter just to watch each other.”
A lot of eyes are starting to watch Key’s career, and a lot of ears are getting introduced to his projects such as Mothers Are The Blame, Fathers Are The Curse, Screaming Dreams Prelude, and Give Him Hell 2 with ManMan Savage. Besides his Screaming Dreams LP arriving in the near future, another mixtape titled Martin Luther Key is set to drop on December 25.
The newest gift for his fans arrives in time for Christmas, but Key is still very conscious about how other rappers seem to prefer to take more than they give. In his view, the rest of the country uses the Atlanta Hip Hop environment as an open lot where they go to lift sounds, fashion, and lingo.
“I don’t feel like they’re just taking my swag. I feel like they’re taking all of Atlanta’s swag,” expresses Key. “There’s so many n*ggas that sound like Future. There’s so many n*ggas that sound like Bankroll Fresh. It’s n*ggas that sound like Curtis Williams. When we were younger, we used to say Curtis sounds like Wiz [Khalifa], but now it’s to the point where Wiz sounds like Curtis.”
From forging the Two-9 crew to freeing a tape inspired by his hometown’s most iconic civil rights leader, Key holds down the ATL to the fullest. And the rising rhymer feels he is just at the cusp of his full potential. The ultimate end game is to have his jersey hanging from the rafters.
“The G.O.A.T. The greatest of all time,” says Key! about how he sees himself. “There’s so much in store. I can’t even explain. Every season that comes about is going to bring more momentum to the situation.”
Lil Jon lives in a million dollar mansion, but a number of companies are complaining that he owes them thousands in repairs and other work on the home.
According to documents, Lil Jon owes $15k to Lackey Drywall, $6,743.86 to Eastern Wallboard Supply and $1,050 to KLS Plumbing. The companies have filed liens against his home in hopes of getting their money.
Lil Jon is flat-out refusing to pay, according to a report from TMZ.
The rap artist has not commented on the matter yet.
Apparently a fan upset Rich Homie Quan so much that he ended up dissing Young Thug.
In a concert, Rich Homie seems willing to let a female touch his genitals, but when a male fan steps up, the whole scene went in a different direction.
“I don’t f**k with no f**kin’ f*gs…looking’ like Young Thug…get the f**k away from me,” Rich Homie said. “Get your a** the f**k back, bruh. I don’t like sissies, n***a!”
Rich Homie extolled his disdain for sexual relations with men as well as his former comrade Young Thug.
Pimp C has a new album – Long Live The Pimp – coming out this Friday, which has gotten rave reviews, but Pimp C’s eldest son is not pleased.
Chad Butler Jr., the namesake of the late rapper issued a statement saying that he and brother Corey Butler are not participants in the album at all. That means financially or creatively.
“I want Pimp C fans to know that his family – myself and my younger brother Corey Butler – had no part in the creation of this ‘new’ Pimp C album and don’t receive any of the benefits from album sales. The only person who benefits is his wife Chinara (Butler), who doesn’t return phone calls or communicate with us at all, and possibly our sister Christian, but even that is debatable. My father was always supportive of myself and my brother, and I know he wouldn’t want us to be forgotten as a part of his legacy.” – Chad Butler Jr.
Before the Thanksgiving break, Chinara had debuted the album to the media, with the majority of the feedback being praise for Long Live The Pimp.
In previous statements, Chinara has maintained she spearheaded the project.
In a statement, she said, “This album is the culmination of years of work from not just me, but also the amazing artists and producers who contributed to make it happen. It combines several of the ideas and projects my husband began before his untimely passing. We hope the Trill fans enjoy it.”

50 Cent just announced his new upcoming comedy, ‘My Friend 50.’ The comedy centers around a woman named Amanda Kramer. The woman ends up joining 50’s crew, and the entire experience is filmed as a documentary which Kramer narrates. 50 will make appearances occasionally. Although 50 will be bringing in some new coins, according to him, none of them will go to Rick Ross’ baby mama Lastonia Leviston. 50 Cent posted on Instagram,
“Now you know I ain’t bullsh*tting. I got Will (Green Lit) Packer on the team. We walk in, pitch, then walk out with bag full of money.”
A fan in the comments posted,
“You still owe $7 million tho.”
50 replied saying,
“@Au0didact oh I’m gonna owe that, lol.”
50 Cent clearly has no plans of paying Rick Ross’ baby mama her $7 million in damages. LOL.
In a day and age where everyone is doing any and everything sexually behind closed doors, Fabolous said you won’t catch him slipping! Recently a Fab fan misheard and misinterpreted some of Fab’s lyrics. He posted under an Instagram post by Fab,
“Smfh u said she f#### me like a n#### Shemale??? We can’t f### with you no mo slime.”
Fab wasted no time clearing this up as he replied saying,
“I said : “I say she f###### like a n####, that’s a She-Male… advice from me to you. Stay outta real n####’s comments with f### s###. Go play wit the corny n#####.”
Allhiphop.com dropped in Skeme’s instore appearance at Fairfax Avenue’s KAYO store a few weeks back to listen to the new album and catch up with the 24 year old spitter who is currently signed to Jentry Salvatore’s MADE Headlines production company, distributed by San Francisco based Empire Distribution.
According to Skeme, Atlantic Records and eOne have both expressed interest lately. He is also said to have turned down offers from TDE before and even raps about an Interscope offer that didn’t appeal to him, which may or may not have been via TDE.
As to what sound Ingleworld 3 has to offer listeners, Skeme said he simply wants his fans and the media alike to know that he is “extremely diverse” when it comes to his brand of rap.
“I think between [Ingleworld] 1, 2 and 3, if you looks at the change in sounds, it’s a very clean thing to say about me,” Skeme said.
Recording the project at the famed Record Plant studios in Hollywood, Skeme was able to finagle Chris Brown “that’s the homie” into a collaboration that became “36 Oz.”
Skeme reflected on this verse for “360z” in a behind the scenes look with Power 106, examining just one of the many great tracks that’s making waves across the internet from Ingleworld 3.
“They Hatin’ On Me, Fakin’ On Me, But Still I Ain’t Trippin'” – Skeme (“36 Oz.” – Ingleworld 3)
Gilie Da Kid seems to not care what a persons sexual preference is, but he does say that you have to pick “one team” and play for it. He says,
“You can’t play for the Cincinatti Reds and the Phillies. Like you run around here 2 C### Shakur and then go home to your baby mama.”
Should people be able to be bisexual? Should they have to pick a side, or should they be able to do what they want as long as they are honest with everyone on both sides? What are your thoughts? It seems like this is a response to Yusaf Mack going from saying he was drugged, then he was bisexual, to admitting that he was gay after a gay p### video emerged of him having sex with two men. Let’s not forget, he was engaged to a woman, and he has 10 kids.

Well clearly everyone isn’t embracing Chris Brown and his second chance 7 years after his domestic violence incident. Apparently The Daily Show won’t be having Breezy on the show anytime soon. Chris Brown was scheduled to appear on Tuesday night’s episode, but he was quickly replaced with Nick Cannon. Apparently The Daily Show staff took issue with Brown as a guest due to his domestic violence assault on Rihanna. Domestic violence hits home for The Daily Show host Trevor Noah. His stepfather abused his mother, shot her in the face, and hunted him down to try to kill him. Noah wanted to use this opportunity with Brown to discuss domestic violence and spread awareness, but the staffers weren’t interested. There have also been reports that Brown’s Australia and New Zealand tour stops have been cancelled due to the same domestic violence incident. What are your thoughts?
Meth continues to carry the torch for the Wu and drops the visuals for his “Purple Tape” track featuring Raekwon, Inspectah Deck and some special guests. Is that Method Man’s son on the track? Yup, and his name is Raekwon. Only one Rae in the track-listing for this, but we get two. Looking forward to more from Meth’s son!
After being incarcerated for almost a year and being denied bail five times, Bobby Shmurda may be coming home as soon as tomorrow (Dec. 3). According to TMZ, the Brooklyn rapper’s family has been working with New York bail bondsman Ira Judelson and came up with $2 million worth of collateral to cover his bond.
Bobby’s aunt has put up many properties to cover the hefty bail and his is team has produced a 200-page document explaining where all the money behind the collateral came from. They are planning to present this information to a judge soon.
The 21-year-old was arrested on Dec. 17th, 2014 after he and his GS9 crew were hit with a slew of charges including murder, attempted murder, assault and other drugs and weapons charges. The rap collective was under surveillance by the NYPD and were suspected to be connected to a firearm and drug ring. If he is found guilty, he faces up to 25 years in prison.
After performing at the first stop of his “Especial Tour” in Denver, CO, Kid Cudi pulled the plug on the rest of the dates. He took to Twitter to break the news to his fans with a statement.
“By now im sure you all have heard but for those who haven’t I’ve decided to cancel my tour,” he wrote. “Things weren’t together production wise and I need a bit to make some changes. I got a lot im dealing with at this time in my personal life too and in order for the shows to be the best experience possible, as well as keeping my sanity intact, I need to regroup. I have to. Im upset and im sure some of you are too. Im sorry for any inconveniences I may have caused and I look forward to seeing all your smiling faces and feeling all your glorious love and energy at the top of next year.”
His upcoming album Speedin’ Bullet 2 Heaven is still slated to drop on Dec. 4th and after his announcement he released the album’s title track.
“As a little something, I’ve decided to put my next single, ‘Speedin’ Bullet 2 Heaven’ on my soundcloud early for you to enjoy. Produced by Plain Pat and myself, it is our hope that this song makes you feel something again. I f##### love each and everyone of you with all I got and again, I am really really sorry yall. I’ll be seeing you soon. I wanna send mega mad love to everyone in Denver who came out and showed support and love throughout the entire show. I’ll redo your show as well : ) it’s only right.”
Iggy Azalea decided to take a mental break from Twitter earlier this year after she was continuously put on the chopping block for cultural appropriation among other things. Over the weekend, Erykha Badu threw serious shade Iggy’s way when she dissed her during her hosting gig at the 2015 Soul train Awards. Acting as if she was answering a phone call Badu said “Who is this? Iggy Azalea? Yeah, hey. Oh, no, no, no, no, you can come, ’cause what you doin’ is definitely not rap.”
The Grand Hustle rapper decided to check back into her timeline to respond to Badu and seemingly other mean tweets sent her way.
Travi$ Scott and Rihanna have grown quite close, but the details surrounding their relationship have been scarce. The “Antidote” rapper has appeared in Puma ads with the bad gal and she has been spotted at many of his performances. Scott has been dodging questions about the ‘BBHMM” singer but in his latest sit down with Complex for thier Dec/Jan 2015 cover story, he did describe her as his muse.
And Rihanna. Travis avoids directly putting a label on his budding relationship, laughing and imploring me to not “do [me] like that, man” when I ask about it as delicately as possible. I am, however, able to get him to describe her in three words: “creative,” “inspiring,” and, after a long pause (and some assistance from Corey), “muse.”
Scott also discussed his musical style, saying his tracks aren’t your typical rap songs.
“My music isn’t rappity-rap-rap-rap. I base my music off of lifestyle and emotion—that’s why my music has a lot of chords, even if it’s a hard-ass joint. I consider myself an artist, which is, like, the most played term, but I believe it. Don’t get it twisted, I’m no b####, n*gga got bars. But I’m not, like, super conscious. I don’t write, I just go in the booth. I’m attached to the beat. The beat speaks words. I love music.”
