Ashanti Pays Homage To Fatman Scoop & Rich Homie Quan

Ashanti has shared a pair of touching memories in her recent tribute post to late Hip-Hop artists Fatman Scoop and Rich Homie Quan.

On Thursday (September 19), Ashanti utilized her Instagram Story to post archive footage of both Scoop and Quan, along with heartfelt messages regarding her experience working with the two deceased artists. In the first post, she shared, Ashanti remarked on the opportunity she got to work with Quan in the studio, which she described as a pleasure while also praising the Atlanta rapper’s immense talent.

“I had the pleasure of working with this young legend,” Ashanti wrote. “I was so impressed with how incredibly talented he was his melodies are crazy and he was super fast in the studio. RIP Rich Homie Quan, sending love, prayers and peace to the family.”

In a follow-up post, Ashanti shared a video of herself and Scoop goofing off in the airport during their tour in Australia in 2022 — which featured artist such as Akon, Jay Sean, Dru Hill, and Shaggy. In the caption she wrote on the video, Ashanti recalled how comfortable Scoop made her feel during her first interview with him, along with the “energy” he brought to his collaborations.

“I remember my very first radio interview with Scoop as a new artist,” she wrote. “He was always welcoming hilarious and super down to earth. He brought the biggest energy to every record. He was on making it a hit. We had a blast on this run in Australia. Rest in peace to the iconic ‘Fat Man Scoop’, sending love, peace, and blessings to the family.”

Unfortunately, both Scoop and Quan passed away abruptly earlier this month. Scoop passed away after collapsing at a Connecticut concert on the evening of August 30, while Quan was discovered deceased in his home by his longtime girlfriend days later on September 5. Overall, the Black music community has been forced to carry a heavy heart throughout the duration of this month following the deaths of iconic vocalists Frankie Beverly and Tito Jackson, as well.

Chingy Exits Republican LGBTQ Event Following Intense Online Criticism

Chingy has withdrawn from performing at a Log Cabin Republicans event in Nashville after facing fierce social media criticism over perceived support for Donald Trump.

The Red White & Rock event is slated for September 29 and is intended to celebrate conservative LGBT voices, featuring notable MAGA personalities like Donald Trump Jr. and Kimberly Guilfoyle.

The uproar began when promotional materials spotlighted Chingy alongside prominent Trump supporters, igniting assumptions about his political leanings.

The immediate backlash led many to attack the rapper online, accusing him of endorsing the former president.

“They’re making a spectacle of the black community looking for token blacks to perform at these rallies and draw in the “male black vote”. All money isn’t good money but you’re grown you know what you’re doing lol,” one user fumed, while another said: “Being a trump supporter that’s down bad 🤣.”

After facing relentless online criticism, Chingy ultimately decided to withdraw from the event.

“YOU KNO WHAT JUS CAUSE I DONT WANT TO BE IN THE MIDDLE OF THIS MESS. I HAVE DECLINED PERFORMING AND NO IM MOT A TRUMP SUPPORTER NOR SUPPORTER OF ANYONE ELSE BUT CHINGY. THURR YOU HAVE IT,” Chingy wrote on social media.

This is not the first time Chingy had his professional world rattled.

In 2012, his career was damaged by false rumors involving transgender influencer Sidney Starr.

She fabricated a story about a romantic involvement with Chingy, leading to significant professional consequences, including losing a record deal.

“When that happened, I lost a lot of stuff based off a lie, which was just the most oddest thing I’ve ever seen. Ain’t nothing good happen from that for me… That situation hurt my career like I’m just gonna be honest about it,” Chingy told TMZ.

Despite Starr’s later retraction and apology, the damage to Chingy’s career and public image was already significant, casting a long shadow over his subsequent endeavors in the music industry.

The recent controversy surrounding the Log Cabin Republicans event only added to Chingy’s career turbulence.

Mariah The Scientist Goes To See Young Thug In Court To “Breathe His Air”

Mariah the Scientist is opening up about her relationship with Young Thug, explaining how she keeps the romance alive while Thugger is behind bars amid the ongoing YSL RICO trial.

The singer joined Latto on the latest episode of WNBA star Angel Reese’s new podcast “Unapologetically Angel,” where she discussed her relationship with the rapper. At one point during the show, Young Thug actually called Mariah the Scientist from prison.

Mariah admitted that it’s hard keeping the love alive while Young Thug is locked up but is grateful she gets to see him in court.

“Sometimes I fall asleep in there,” she said. “I just go to breathe his air.”

Mariah explained that she “never imagined” her man would be jailed just a few months into their relationship. “He’s been locked up now for longer than we was in a relationship before he got locked up,” she added.

She joked that she’s been holding it down “too long,” as Reese pointed out other women are “dying for your spot.”

Earlier this week, Young Thug returned to Instagram, posting a photo of Mariah the Scientist walking the runway at a New York Fashion Week show.

“Send me a hard copy of this picture,” he captioned the post. “I’m tryna do sum right fast.”

Last October, Mariah revealed that she visits young Thug in jail once a week, and they speak daily. “It’s almost like jail solidified our relationship,” she stated. “I’m willing to wait it out because I feel like he’s the one. If I didn’t really see that in him, I probably wouldn’t.”

EXCLUSIVE: Tiny Harris Discusses O.M.G Doll Battle As Case Heads To Jury

In a dramatic face-off unfolding from years of legal skirmishes, a jury in Los Angeles now ponders the fate of a lawsuit between T.I. and Tiny Harris and MGA Entertainment over claims that the toymaker pilfered the likenesses of the OMG Girlz for its “L.O.L. Surprise! O.M.G.” doll line.

“After a lengthy three weeks, we are relieved to have finally shared our story,” Tameka “Tiny” Harris told AllHipHop in an exclusive statement, signaling a desire for a just decision.

“The judge maintained impartiality, and we value the diligence the jury exhibited. With the case now entrusted to them, we believe they will deliver a verdict that is just and in favor of the OMG Girlz,” Tiny said.

Since 2009, T.I. and Tiny have managed the girl group OMG Girlz, a venture spanning until 2015, with a brief reappearance in 2017.

Sara DeBoer/startraksphoto.com

T.I. and Tiny started the legal showdown after they saw the group’s likenesses in MGA’s “L.O.L. Surprise! O.M.G.” dolls.

The couple’s efforts to address the issue with MGA through a cease-and-desist order in 2020 reportedly led to the company preemptively filing a lawsuit.

The Harris couple replied in legal filings asserting that the dolls’ hair, clothing, and names closely mirrored those of the OMG Girlz, arguing that this infringement justified a claim for nearly $100 million in damages.

In defending its stance, MGA claimed rightful possession of the doll line’s trademarks and imagery, a point emphasized throughout the trials.

The legal saga saw its first jury trial in January 2023, only to be thwarted by cultural appropriation claims, leading to a mistrial.

A second trial in May 2023 concluded with the jury favoring MGA.

However, procedural shifts necessitated by recent Supreme Court rulings called for a third trial.

MGA employees denied that their dolls were modeled after the OMG Girlz, though they acknowledged that the dolls shared features of the group’s signature look, including vibrant hair and edgy, trend-driven wardrobes.

This admission has fueled concerns about a broader pattern of borrowing from recognizable images without credit.

The employees further defended their design process, dismissing allegations that any of their dolls were based on celebrity likenesses.

They specifically refuted claims that the smaller LOL Surprise dolls mimicked iconic figures such as Elton John, Audrey Hepburn, or Michael Jackson — accusations that critics say reflect a troubling trend of appropriating well-known figures without proper attribution.

On September 21, 2024, the latest legal engagement was sent to the hands of the jury, who must distill weeks of testimony and evidence into a singular verdict.

Lil Pump Choked Out Cold By UFC Fighter Colby Covington: “Look At His Eyes Bro!”

Lil Pump briefly passed out after UFC fighter Colby Covington got a little too aggressive with the rapper in the ring. A video circulating on Twitter (X) shows the pair grappling at a gym before Covington gets Pump in a headlock and begins choking him.

Lil Pump winces as Covington intensifies his grip. Pump tries to tap out but taps his own chest instead. After about 30 seconds, Covington jumps up and says, “Look at his eyes, bro! He’s out. Look at his eyes. H########.” Pump then lays there for awhile as the trainers attempt to revive him.

Fans in the comment section quickly jumped to Lil Pump’s defense, scolding Covington for pulling that move on a non-UFC fighter. Some even called it “assault” and “attempted murder.”

“He tapped multiple times,” one person pointed out. “Colby should be demoted on his jiu jitsu belt and should never be allowed to fight again. This isn’t ok especially for a bum.”

Lil Pump has been on a tear lately in support of Donald Trump. Earlier this month, he attacked singer Taylor Swift for endorsing Kamala Harris in the 2024 presidential race.

“Taylor Swift… go f### urself,” Lil Pump wrote in response. “Lets just b clear wen I said @taylorswift13 should go f### herself i acknowledge maybe @tkelce isn’t doing it and will send her a vibrator of her choice if she gets some sense. Trump 2024!”

Lil Pump claimed a fan sent him a “deleted” post from Swift but failed to realize he’d been bamboozled by a fake post. He told Swift’s boyfriend, NFL star Travis Kelce, to get her “in check” before threatening to have sex with their mothers.

“Taylor Swift, you have no clue why ur even voting for Kamala. Maybe cuz ur a billionaire and voting for her has 0 impact on ur life,” he added. “You said do ur research, clearly you didn’t do ur research. Right after the debate u endorsed her lol. Right after she lied many many times!”

He continued, “Stop acting like ur so innocent. YOU ARE PUSHING PPL TO VOTE FOR KAMALA! Inflation through the roof and ppl are struggling to pay bills. They def won’t be able to afford tix to ur shows! She said she will make changes right away, WHY DIDNT SHE THE PAST 3.5 years?”

Lil Pump has yet to address his clash with Covington. Watch the clip above.

Diddy Once Went Shopping For Butt Plugs According To Ex-Bodyguard Gene Deal

Gene Deal, the former bodyguard for music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs, is continuing to lift the veil on the controversial star’s private life.

In a recent interview with The Art of Dialogue, Gene Deal shared a surprising story about shopping with Diddy, an experience that has sparked attention for its peculiar nature.

Diddy reportedly purchased a number of unusual items, including butt plugs, a detail that Deal initially kept quiet.

“I was following him in one of those adult stores, they gave him a brown paper bag at the door. And he was just putting s### in there. Then, when he got to this place, he just reached up to the left. And he just started getting these things down. So I went up there and looked and it said butt plugs.”

Gene Deal initially chuckled at the absurdity of the situation and elaborated.

“I asked him, ‘Ayo, what are you getting these for, bro?’ And he said, ‘Can I do my shopping by myself?”

Gene Deal said he went to the front of the store to wait for Diddy until his shopping trip concluded.

“He didn’t even have to show them what was in the bag. He just gave the dude a wad of money,” Gene Deal said.

Deal’s allegations are the least of Diddy’s worries. Diddy was arrested on September 16 on charges of racketeering and sex trafficking.

The indictment accuses him of leading a criminal enterprise that involved coercing and abusing victims through threats, drugs, and violence over many years.

Prosecutors allege that Combs organized “Freak Offs,” elaborate sex performances involving commercial sex workers, often using narcotics to maintain control over the participants.

Additional charges include kidnapping, arson, bribery, and obstruction of justice.

Combs has pleaded not guilty and remains in custody as he awaits trial.

He is due back in court on October 9 where he is expected to take a third shot at making bond after his $50 million offer was turned down twice.

Chrisean Rock Announces New Zues Network Reality TV Show Starring Infant Son

Chrisean Rock is back in the spotlight with a major announcement.

The controversial reality star and social media sensation took to Instagram to reveal her upcoming reality series, featuring herself and baby son Chrisean Jesus Porter. In an Instagram post she shared on Friday (September 20), Chrisean unveiled the flyer for her upcoming Zeus Network original series along with a brief message of excitement about the production.

“So Blessed & excited about my New Series, called ‘God’s Plan’ featuring Chrisean Jesus Porter and I,” Chrisean Rock wrote in the caption. “I’m also making a Special Guest Appearance on BADDIES MIDWEST, all coming soon to @thezeusnetwork!”

Female lyricist Akbar V commented on the post and congratulated Chrisean for embarking on her new enlightened path, writing simply, “Congratulations [heart eyes emoji] anointed.”

The new show, titled God’s Plan, will give fans an intimate look at Chrisean’s journey through motherhood and her life with her son, whom she shares with rapper Blueface. The announcement comes amid a whirlwind of headlines surrounding Chrisean and Blueface’s tumultuous relationship. Most notably, Chrisean recently made headlines when she chose to change the name of her child. Originally named after Blueface, the baby’s new name, Chrisean Jesus, reflects her decision to embrace a fresh start for herself and her son.

Chrisean’s life has been a rollercoaster in recent months. The “Baddies” star was recently released from jail in Craig County, Oklahoma, where she spent months on drug-related charges. Blueface, on the other hand, is also facing legal challenges of his own. The rapper was recently sentenced to four years in prison for a previous conviction.

While the two share a child, their public relationship has been rocky at best, with frequent arguments and legal disputes making headlines. Additionally, many fans have criticized Chrisean’s care for her child after multiple fan theories on social media have accused the “It’s A Vibe” rapper of concealing a concerning diagnosis of the baby.

See the post above for additional details on the new series.

Cam’ron Confesses To Never Voting While Ma$e & Mike Tyson Pledge Support To Trump

Cam’ron just confessed his lack of civic engagement as it pertains to presidential elections while Ma$e and Mike Tyson colluded over their allegiance to presidential candidate Donald Trump.

During a recent episode of the former rap star’s It Is What It Is sports talk show, Cam’ron and Ma$e sat down with former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson and spoke about a number of various topics. Things started to get a but dicey when they began discussing the 2024 presidential election and Ma$e and Tyson voiced their support for Donald Trump. Tyson, known for his boldness both in and out of the ring, openly expressed his hope for Trump’s victory in the upcoming election.

“Trump’s going to win,” Mike Tyson said. Cam’ron replied, “Is that who you want to win?”

Tyson stated confidently responded without hesitating, “Yeah, that would be nice if he win.”

He went on to explain his reasoning, pointing out that while he doesn’t agree with everything Trump stands for, he respects him as a person.

“Nahm he’s just a good man, listen, I don’t agree with all this s###,” he said. “Nobody agrees with all my s###, but they’re good people. No one’s perfect in this world.”

A post shared by AllHipHop (@allhiphopcom)

Ma$e also made it clear that he leans toward Trump in the upcoming election when Cam’ron asked him directly about his political stance.

The former Bad Boy Records rapper responded, “You know I’m conservative, so I’m probably on this side of Trump.”

The admission aligns with Ma$e’s long-known shift toward conservative values since he announced his retirement from music to become a pastor twice — once in 1999 and again in 2007. On the other hand, Tyson’s decades-long relationship with Trump, dating back to his days of fighting in Trump-owned hotels, further solidified his endorsement.

“I used to fight in his hotel when I was a kid,” he recalled. “I got love for him.”

Mase added, “Wasn’t you at the Trump party back in the days?”

To which Tyson responded, “All the time — I’m the reason it was the party. It was my party.”

While Cam’ron himself admitted that he has never voted, it was clear that the conversation surrounding Trump sparked lively discussion. “You know what it is about Trump,” Mase commented. “If you know somebody and then they get to the place where they’re running for president, you almost feel like a hater if you don’t vote for them because you know this n##a.” Tyson echoed a similar sentiment, highlighting the personal connections and loyalty that drive his support.

The conversation adds both Tyson and Ma$e to the growing list of public figures from the Hip-Hop and sports worlds who have voiced support for Donald Trump. In recent years, notable names like Kanye West and Lil Wayne have shown favor toward Trump, with Lil Wayne even meeting the former president before the 2020 election to discuss criminal justice reform.

Kodak Black and Fivio Foreign also pledged their support for Trump earlier this year after they releases a collaboration featuring the former president.

Additionally, professional athletes like NFL legend Herschel Walker and NBA player Kyrie Irving have also expressed conservative viewpoints or support for Trump’s policies. The trend of celebrities backing Trump has highlighted an ongoing division in both Hip-Hop and sports over political allegiances as the 2024 election approaches.

Snoop Dogg Weighs In On Kendrick Lamar & Lil Wayne Super Bowl Controversy

Snoop Dogg recently addressed the controversy surrounding Lil Wayne’s exclusion from the upcoming Super Bowl Halftime Show diplomatically.

The NFL announced earlier this month that Kendrick Lamar would perform at the February event in New Orleans, sparking outcry from Wayne’s fans and some celebrities, who felt a New Orleans native-like Wayne should have been chosen over Los Angeles’ Lamar.

In a candid interview with Shannon Sharpe and Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson for Nightcap, Snoop refrained from taking sides in the debate.

“I don’t really have no opinion, but what I do wanna say is that, just remember where the NFL was 15 years ago when it comes to Hip-Hop. How many Hip-Hop artists were able to grace that stage 15 years ago? So, I understand both sides of the coin and I understand how people feel,” he said.

Reflecting on his experience participating in the Super Bowl LVI halftime show in 2022 alongside Dr. Dre, Kendrick, Eminem, and Mary J. Blige, Snoop acknowledged the opportunity he received through Dr. Dre. “I have no answer, no opinion because I had the opportunity to get up there via Dr. Dre. I didn’t do any Snoop Dogg songs. I was up there helping Dr. Dre and it became a great moment for all of us. So, any time anybody can get on that Super Bowl stage, remember this: it’s a 12/13-minute performance and you’re not getting paid. It’s more or less you have to spend money to upgrade your show to make it mass appealing for the audience that’s home watching,” Snoop remarked.

Snoop also expressed admiration for Lil Wayne.

“Remember, I was at No Limit Records for three years and I watched his whole career come to life and then watched him get bigger than me and I was gigantic at the time and I loved seeing his growth,” Snoop added. “Me and Wayne is family to this day, me and Kendrick is family to this day, and me and JAY-Z, and me and (NFL commissioner) Roger Goodell. I don’t know who is the decision maker, all I know is that I’ll be at home watching the Super Bowl and when the halftime show comes on, I’ll be watching that as well.”

Lil Wayne reacted to the halftime show snub by expressing disappointment and taking responsibility.

“I blame myself for not being mentally prepared for a letdown. And for automatically mentally putting myself in that position like somebody told me that was my position,” the 41-year-old, real name Dwayne Carter Jr., shared. “So I blame myself for that. But I thought that was nothing better than that spot and that stage and that platform in my city, so it hurt. It hurt a whole lot.”

Kendrick Lamar is set to headline the Super Bowl halftime show at the Caesars Superdome on Feb. 9, 2025.

Boosie Badazz Wanted By Texas Police For Stiffing Chauffeur Service

A warrant has been issued for the arrest of Boosie Badazz in Travis County, Texas. Per KXAN, the dogmatic Baton Rouge-bred rapper is facing a charge of theft of service greater than or equal to $2,500 and less than $30,000.

The charge, filed on August 29, stems from an incident in June in which Boosie allegedly skipped out on paying for a chauffeur he hired to drive him around. A summons for Boosie to appear in court October 28 for a pre-trial hearing was issued on Friday (September 20).

According to the affidavit, Boosie hired the Austin-based driving service while in town for a few days. The chauffeur drove him to Walmart to buy clothes, took him and his child to an Urgent Care to get treatment for the child, stopped by a Burger King, a trampoline park as well as Round Rock Outlet Mall to do a promotional video. He was also driven to the federal courthouse in downtown Austin to check in with a federal parole officer.

The company alleges it never received payment despite being told Boosie Badazz would pay in cash for the services. The affidavit also said the chauffeur driver asked Boosie and his manager about payment multiple times, and later sent Hatch an invoice for $8,800, which the driver reported never got paid.

At some point during the three-day job, Boosie complimented the chauffeur services and posted a video to Instagram promoting the business. The driver thanked him and said he’d give him “a good price, just like I told your manager.” Boosie then suggested the company take the cost off the promotional video, and the driver said they’d “work something out.”

The chauffeur, however, assured police there was “never a circumstance, prior to the promotion video, where they agreed that the promotion video would fully cover the cost of services.” The company provided screenshots of text messages in which Boosie promised to pay cash. Boosie is summoned to appear in Travis County court on October 28.

Future continues to honor the legacy of Atlanta’s Dungeon Family collective along with the life of his late cousin and Dungeon Family co-founder Rico Wade amid the release of his latest project, Mixtape Pluto.

Taking to Twitter on Thursday (September 19), Future confirmed the project doubled as a tribute to Wade and expressed his deep admiration and eternal bond with his cousin in the process.

Earlier this month, Future suggested he’d be returning to his roots upon the release of Mixtape Pluto. The album artwork featured a photo of the Dungeon, where the collective created some of their most notable and celebrated works.

Rico Wade, who was instrumental in the rise of artists like Outkast and Goodie Mob, played a pivotal role in shaping the Atlanta music scene. As the driving force behind Organized Noize, the production trio responsible for some of the most iconic Hip-Hop tracks of the ’90s, Wade’s contributions to music will forever be remembered. As a producer and visionary. For Future, Wade was more than just family—he was a mentor and guiding force throughout his career.

It was Wade who introduced Future, then known as “Meathead,” to the Dungeon Family, allowing him to observe and learn from legends like Big Boi and André 3000. The exposure laid the foundation for Future’s success as a rapper and songwriter, influencing his sound and approach to music. Wade also broadened Future’s horizons to the possibilities and opportunities rap music can provide as a profession, something Future remarked about when speaking on how the producer was responsible for some of his first experiences in the lap of luxury.

“I never even ate a good restaurant until I went with Rico,” Future said when speaking about Wade. “He took me to my first five-star restaurant. Like, to ride in a foreign car, a Range Rover, BMW, Porsche, that was my first time ever doing it around Rico. I never knew nobody who was legal could make money until my cousin Rico. So being in the Dungeon I knew it could happen.”

The Dungeon Family’s unique blend of Southern culture, funk, and forward-thinking Hip-Hop not only left a lasting imprint on the genre but also set Future on a path toward becoming one of the biggest names in the industry.

Wade’s death in April marked a significant loss for the Hip-Hop community. The cause of his death was revealed by a family spokesperson to be heart failure. Wade, who was 52 when he passed, was deeply mourned by artists and fans alike who were impacted by the vast scope of his work.

During his illustrious career, Wade’s mentorship contributed to the success of numerous Outkast albums, including Speakerboxxx/The Love Below, which won a Grammy Award for Album of the Year in 2004. Wade also produced TLC’s “Waterfalls” along with Goodie Mob’s classic debut album Soul Food in 1995.

De La Soul Remembers Trugoy The Dove On Late Hip-Hop Legend’s Birthday

It’s been more than a year since Trugoy The Dove passed away. The De La Soul luminary, who suffered from heart issues and diabetes, died suddenly in February 2023, leaving fellow De La Soul members Maseo and Posdnuos behind to carry on his legacy.

True to their word, Mase and Pos continue to remember their fallen friend. On Saturday (September 21), on what would have been Trugoy’s 56th birthday, they shared a photo of him to the official De La Soul account. The caption, read: “‘The Birthdate is September Two One One Nine Six Eight…’ Happy Birthday David Jude Jolicoeur, Trugoy The Dove, Plug Two. #ThankYouDave.”

The lyrics they quoted come from the 2004 Grind Date single “Rock Co.Kane Flow” featuring MF DOOM.

On February 12, the one-year anniversary of Trugoy’s passing, Pos wrote an emotional Instagram tribute to Trugoy The Dove, writing, “I feel conflicted posting this on this date…Dave disliked when people were publicly remembered on the day they were lost.

“The day they transitioned but I’m sure he also respected how people chose to remember those they love and have lost. So on this day I will stand alongside all the people who cherish him as well as kept us in their prayers but to be clear I miss him in the physical everyday, rep for him everyday & will talk to someone about him everyday.”

Speaking to AllHipHop in March, shortly after the release of Three Feet High and Rising‘s expanded edition, Pos talked about feeling “conflicted” about tribute posts.

“It’s hard for me because Dave always talked about that with me,” Pos said at the time. “He’s like, ‘Yo, why do they do that? Even with it Dilla, he would be like, ‘Why are they celebrating his death?’ Or Biggie—’Why are they spending all this time talking about his death? I could see celebrating a birthday, but his death?’ So I felt conflicted and that’s what i put in the post. I talked to Mase about it and I was like, ‘Yo, I’m trying to let the fans know, like this is a one-off. I’m going to do this because I know y’all have been there for us throughout this whole year supporting us with our bittersweet success.

“They’ve been very helpful with helping me and Mase get through it, but this is a one-off. When I got closer to them putting up the post, I didn’t want to come off like that. I wanted them to know how Dave felt and how I felt, but I understand how y’all feel and I’m going to honor him each year. But I just need y’all to understand, I celebrate Dave every day. I think about him every day. I’m going to be upset that we lost him every day. So I’m not going to allow this one day to break me down.”

A post shared by Pos ( De La Soul ) (@plugwondelasoul)

Maseo admitted he was in a somber mood that day and that the rain made it feel more ominous.

“That was a hard day for me,” he says. “I was pretty much silent the whole day. Pos’ post was the reason I didn’t post. Straight up. When I saw his post, I was like, ‘That’s good enough.’ I think my silence says it all, because I’m usually the loudest one. I know my silence speaks volumes. I’m not angry. I’m just extremely sad. What I’m glad about is he’s no longer in pain.”

In terms of De La Soul’s future, the surviving members have committed to moving forward.

“The plan is definitely to step out and put my best foot forward to make AOI 3 a reality. We are definitely looking to complete that mission. Pos has other ideas that he’s trying to bring to fruition. We got the blessing of friends and family—and Dave’s family in particular— for us to keep moving forward. We were actually kind of summoned to it.

“We went to Dave’s memorial at his house, and everybody that we grew up with was like, ‘Y’all know y’all gotta keep going.’ And on so many levels I feel like we have to and, at the same time, we want to. We still got a lot in the tank.”

Chance The Rapper Talks Elevating Chicago Music Scene With G Herbo, Lil Durk & SocialWorks

Chance The Rapper has a vivid vision for future events in conjunction with his SocialWorks youth organization in Chicago, and the plans involve some of the biggest artists to blow-up from The Windy City.

Chance recently provided a glimpse of what he foresees for his city on a sunny September day during a two-pronged outreach event that began near the iconic Wrigley Field. Ahead of his visit to an area magnet school associated with his non-profit, where the “No Problems” rapper handed out lunch and took photos with students who presented him with a hand-painted mural in his likeness, Chance The Rapper spoke with AllHipHop during a recent press conference after receiving a generous $100,000 donation to his SocialWorks from Raising Canes.

During the conversation, Chance The Rapper reflected on what he and his team envision for the future of Chicago’s live performance scene. When asked by AllHipHop about his ideal artist lineup for future SocialWorks events, Chance admitted he hadn’t previously considered collaborating with talent, specifically Chicago artists, as extensively as he could have.

“I think it could be any number of people,” Chance The Rapper explained. “I know so many people, that’s actually something that I don’t be thinking about enough. It’s just a lot of times I throw shows for SocialWorks where we’re the benefactor, but I perform and do that as a donation. And I think I often think of it as something that I’m supposed to take on alone, but I don’t really ever think about reaching out to all the artists.”

Chance specifically highlighted his peers G Herbo and Lil Durk, both of whom he says have expressed interest in working with SocialWorks.

“Herbo has always asked me how he could help with SocialWorks,” he said. “Durk [Lil Durk] has always asked me how he can help. There’s so many Chicago artists that want to help out.”

Chance also shared his passion for creating events that go beyond music, with hopes of utilizing historic venues like the Ramova Theater for more than just concerts.

“One of my dreams when I go into spaces that are like The Ramova, I would love to eventually see more comedy shows, possibly even theater or off-Broadway productions,” he said.

Chance’s dedication to giving back to Chicago has been evident since the launch of SocialWorks in 2016. The organization has funded numerous community initiatives, including donations to public schools, namely his new Chance School Fund, mental health support through My State of Mind, and creative events like the annual OpenMike nights for young local artists.

However, the goal of SocialWorks is rooted in an even deeper and more impactful mission that’s embedded in Chance The Rapper’s bloodline. In a recent post mourning the loss of his late auntie Carolyn Jenkins, Chance spoke about his family member’s inspiring commitment to the youth and enriching the city’s cultural scene — which served as the foundation of his SocialWorks program Kids of the Kindom.

“Carolyn Jenkins was a warrior for the youth, an advocate to all those left behind,” he wrote in the lengthy caption of the heartfelt tribute post. “Since I was young I watched her run (an illegal) daycare out of her house, legally adopt children from her block in need of guidance, and even take in adults who were sick, in need of a job or fresh out of jail.

“Complete strangers became her family and by extension a member of my family. I have so many cousins because of Auntie. This was the woman who built Kids of the Kingdom vacation bible school for over 30 years and tasked me with reviving it and adding other church campuses.”

Macklemore Warns Kamala Harris To “Stop Sending Money & Weapons” To Israel

Macklemore became a trending Twitter (X) topic over the weekend following the release of “Hinds Hall 2” featuring Anees, MC Abdul and Amer Zahrhis, his second pro-Palestine anthem. Multiple people praised the Seattle native for having more courage to speak out than most politicians.

In verse three, Macklemore takes a direct shot at Vice President Kamala Harris, who is currently gunning for president. He scoffs at the notion of borders and warns Harris she’ll lose Michigan if things don’t change.

“Hey Kamala, I don’t know if you’re listening/But stop sending money and weapons or you ain’t winning Michigan,” he raps. “We uncommitted, and hell no we ain’t switching positions/Because the whole world turned Palestinian/I see them murdered children in Gaza and I see my babies/Life being stripped from the bombs we’re making. When will Congress decide a Palestinian’s life is just as precious as an Israeli’s/We don’t own the earth, don’t own the earth/We’re killing each other over some lines in the dirt/We bleed the same blood, feel the same hurt.”

The video includes graphic imagery of the Israel-Hamas war that’s been ongoing since October 2023.

Macklemore released the original “Hinds Hall” in May and pledged all proceeds to UNRWA, an independent 501c3 nonprofit organization that provides support for the humanitarian work of the United Nations Agency for Palestine Refugees.

The lyrics and accompanying video highlighted the Israel-Hamas War and was inspired by the work of student protesters at Columbia University, who occupied the campus’s Hamilton Hall and changed its name to “Hind’s Hall.” At one point, Macklemore pointed out there were much more important issues to discuss than the beef between Kendrick Lamar and Drake, which had just popped off weeks earlier.

“What happened to the artist?” he raps. “What do you got to say?If I was on a label, you could drop me today/I’d be fine with it ’cause the heart fed my page/I want a ceasefire, f### a response from Drake (Woo)/What you willin’ to risk? What you willin’ to give?/What if you were in Gaza? What if those were your kids?/If the West was pretendin’ that you didn’t exist.”

Macklemore received some pushback, most notably from Jewish rapper Matisyahu, who called the song antisemitic. He also reminded people Macklemore once issued an apology for perpetuating Jewish stereotypes by wearing a big prosthetic nose.

“It’s not about freeing Palestine, it’s actually the opposite,” he said. “It’s going to keep people not at peace with each other. It’s going to keep people fighting, because it’s riddled with antisemitic tropes. Again, it’s not about freeing Palestine. Let’s not forget for a second this is a guy who wore a prosthetic nose and had to make a public apology for putting on ‘Jew face.’ He’s obviously not about necessarily freeing Palestine but again, he has this concept that he perpetrates, which is like Jews run the world.

“This is an antisemitic idea that’s been going on for thousands of years, that we’re somehow this super human race, these puppet masters that you can blame all the world’s problems on. And if you go through that song, you’ll see time after time, where he literally makes references to us being puppet masters and controlling the world.

Queen Latifah & Will Smith Collaborate For Biographical Film

Queen Latifah and Will Smith are joining forces to bring the rapper-turned-actress’s life story to the big screen to show the rise of a cultural icon who transitioned seamlessly from music to film.

This highly anticipated biopic between the two entertainment industry giants will delve into the 54-year-old’s journey through Hip-Hop and beyond.

Queen Latifah publicly announced her excitement regarding the project and her collaboration with longtime friend Will Smith.

“We all came into this industry together, and Hip-Hop has shaped each and every one of us,” Latifah said in her statement. “Hip-Hop’s impact has expanded beyond just music and has created a lasting impression on culture and society overall. It is a dream to be able to collaborate with friends and colleagues that have not only a shared understanding but are able to tell these stories that were the backdrop of our lives.”

Will Smith, who will be producing the movie, emphasized the project’s significance and the synergy of their partnership.

“When you bring talented people and teams together, you can create something truly special,” Smith said. “I’m thrilled to work alongside Flavor Unit, Jesse Collins Entertainment, and HarbourView, to highlight the incredible stories of some of our favorite artists and icons. There’s no better story to start with than the one of Queen Latifah, an undisputed legend who has both entertained and inspired us for so many years.”

The film will take audiences through Latifah’s early days in the Hip-Hop scene, her evolution into a beloved actress, and her impact on pop culture.

Details on the cast remain under wraps, but interest in the project is already soaring, given the star power behind it.

This isn’t the first collaboration for Queen Latifah and Will Smith.

Their professional relationship traces back to the 1990s when Queen Latifah made guest appearances on Smith’s#### show “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air,” marking the early stages of her acting career.

Diddy Says Freakoff Parties Required “Locks On The Doors” In Resurfaced Talk Show Clip

An old clip of Late Night with Conan O’Brien is making the rounds on Twitter in the wake of Diddy’s arrest.

The Bad Boy Records mogul appeared on the talk show in 2002 and explained in detail how he prepares for his now-infamous “freakoff” parties. The awkward interview includes O’Brien telling Diddy it was “sounding dangerous” at one point, but Diddy seemed unfazed.

“We need alcohols,” he begins. “Alcohols. Plurals. Blends. You need some water. I don’t know if guys have noticed this, but a lot of ladies drink water at parties. If you don’t have what they need, they’re gonna leave. Gotta keep ’em there. You need locks on the doors.”

O’Brien chimes in, “This is sounding kind of dangerous now.” But Diddy continues, “It’s a little kinky, but rock with me. Check it out. You need a lot of heat. Don’t have no air conditioning. Heat affects the alcohol and it also affects like…everybody gets a little more comfortable and builds up a nice little sweat.”

O’Brien tells him it sounds “disgusting,” to which Diddy replies, “It depends on how you look at it.”

Diddy was arrested at a Manhattan hotel Monday (September 16) on charges of sex trafficking, racketeering conspiracy and transportation to engage in prostitution. The 14-page indictment against him alleged he engaged in a “persistent and pervasive” pattern of emotional, physical and sexual abuse.

“For decades, Sean Combs … abused, threatened and coerced women and others around him to fulfill his sexual desires, protect his reputation and conceal his conduct,” the indictment read. “To do so, Combs relied on the employees, resources and influence of the multi-faceted business empire that he led and controlled—creating a criminal enterprise whose members and associates engaged in and attempted to engage in, among other crimes, sex trafficking, forced labor, kidnapping, arson, bribery and obstruction of justice.”

Diddy pleaded not guilty to the charges on Tuesday (September 17). His lawyer, of course, denied any wrongdoing.

“We are disappointed with the decision to pursue what we believe is an unjust prosecution of Mr. Combs by the U.S. Attorney’s Office,” Marc Agnifilo said in a statement to AllHipHop. “Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs is a music icon, self-made entrepreneur, loving family man, and proven philanthropist who has spent the last 30 years building an empire, adoring his children and working to uplift the Black community. He is an imperfect person, but he is not a criminal.”

Diddy remains at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn after being denied bail.

Diddy Mental Health Update: “Strong & Healthy” In “Hell On Earth” Jail

Sean “Diddy” Combs remains composed and determined as he faces significant legal battles despite being placed on suicide watch in New York’s Metropolitan Detention Center.

Federal authorities apprehended the music mogul last Monday, charging him with sex trafficking, racketeering, and transportation with the intent to engage in prostitution.

Diddy has entered a plea of not guilty.

Despite being held without bail, numerous media outlets reported his protective suicide watch status, which his representative said was a routine and precautionary measure.

“Mr. Combs is strong, healthy, and focused on his defense,” the spokesperson said. “He is committed to fighting this case and has full confidence in his legal team and the truth.”

Diddy is slated to attend his initial pretrial conference next week.

His lawyer, Marc Agnifilo, has vowed an intense legal fight for the artist’s release from custody.

“(Combs is) going to fight this with all of his energy and all of his might and the full confidence of his lawyers, and I expect a long battle with a good result for Mr. Combs,” Agnifilo told reporters.

The founder of Bad Boy Records has faced relentless scrutiny of late, with federal searches conducted at his properties in Miami and Los Angeles in March.

This period has also seen Diddy swamped with several lawsuits and allegations of sexual misconduct, many of which are still under review.

Adding to his legal challenges, last November, Cassie Ventura, a former partner, filed a lawsuit accusing Diddy of physical and sexual abuse during their relationship.

This case was quickly settled out of court and dismissed, but subsequent surveillance footage surfaced showing him assaulting Ventura in a hotel corridor back in 2016.

This event led the 54-year-old to apologize for his “inexcusable behavior.”

Diddy is backed by a legal team ready to engage in a lengthy courtroom battle and insists on his innocence while placing trust in the judicial process to vindicate him of the charges.

Diddy’s Son Quincy Clarifies Relationship With Biological Father Al B. Sure

Diddy‘s adopted son, Quincy Brown, is opening up about the state of his relationship with his biological father, Al B. Sure.

The singer/songwriter dated late model Kim Porter back in the 90s and they welcomed Quincy in 1991. They eventually split, and Porter began a longstanding relationship with Diddy and had three children with him.

During a recent appearance on Angela’s Yee’s “Lip Service” podcast, Quincy revealed their relationship is not that of a traditional father and son, and he sees Al B. Sure more like a friend than a father.

“We cool now. I just talked to him a couple days ago. He was congratulating me on the album,” Quincy explained. “But this isn’t – I think we got a cool relationship. He tends to try and do the dad thing a lot but it’s like, that’s not really where we’re at in life. We homies more than anything. We’re like, ‘Let’s go do something.’”

He added, “And I feel like that’s kind of where we’re getting at now, actually knowing that we’re two grown men. We can talk about anything and everything. It’s not about anything else.”

Quincy & Al B. Sure Join Forces At The White House

Last week, Al B. Sure and Quincy met up at The White House Black Excellence Brunch. Al shared footage of them, including one video with Anthony Anderson. He thanked the actor for reaching out to Quincy when “Popz was going through the medical crisis, in a coma and the liver transplant.”

Back in March, Al B. Sure reached out to Quincy on social media amid the ongoing scandals surrounding Diddy.

“#LettertoMySon! Come Home,” he wrote in the caption of a photo of them together. “The [door emoji] is wide open. You’re safe here son! I Love you, Popz, Your Biological [fist emoji].”

Later that month, Al appeared to suggest his 2022 coma was somehow connected to Diddy.

“We’re going to produced the Al. B Sure story,” he said in a clip circulating online. “So hold on to your britches ’cause you’ll really understand how I ended up in a coma. You’re really going to need to call Homeland Security.”

Around the same, time, social media users dredged up a claim Al B. Sure made in 2020 casting doubt on Kim Porter’s official cause of death.

6ix9ine’s Ex-Girlfriend Sues Him For “Appalling Campaign Of Abuse” Including Drugging Her

Yailin La Más Viral—real name Jorgina Lulu Guillermo Diaz—is suing her ex-boyfriend 6ix9ine for nonconsensual pornography, battery, fraud and intentional infliction of emotional distress in Florida. According to court documents obtained by AllHipHop, Diaz accused 6ix9ine of abusing her and stealing “huge sums of money” from her since the beginning of their relationship.

“Throughout and after his relationship with [Diaz], [6ix9ine] has waged an appalling campaign of abuse against her – seeking to dominate, control, and harm her; alienate her from her family and friends; and rob her of hundreds of thousands of dollars of her hard-earned money,” her lawyers wrote. “Over a period of more than a year, [6ix9ine] physically, sexually and emotionally abused [Diaz] – including, among many other acts of abuse and manipulation, drugging her while stealing and diverting hundreds of thousands of dollars of her earnings.

“[He] used these misappropriated funds to pay for luxury expenses for his own entertainment, while manipulating, shaming, and coercing [her] to undergo unnecessary plastic surgery and other cosmetic procedures.”

The lawsuit detailed several examples of 6ix9ine’s abuse. In one incident, he allegedly struck Diaz and threatened to throw her off a balcony at her daughter’s baptism.

6ix9ine—real name is Daniel Hernandez—was arrested on domestic violence charges in the Dominican Republic in January. He was taken into custody for “physical and psychological violence” against Diaz. Dominican authorities also arrested for him attacking two producers in October 2023.

Diaz began dating 6ix9ine in May 2023. She ended their relationship after discovering his theft and fraud in August 2024. 6ix9ine allegedly responded to the breakup by posting explicit images and videos of her on social media.

“In a final act of abuse, seeking to retaliate against [Diaz] and to reassert control over [her] when she told him their relationship was over – and when his access to her money was cut off – [6ix9ine] appallingly and unlawfully posted private, intimate and sexually explicit videos and photographs of [her] on the X app,” Diaz’s lawyers explained. “After [her] management team promptly secured removal of these deeply personal videos and photographs, [he] deviously and unlawfully sought to re-publish them – which he shamefully succeeded in doing mere days before the filing of this complaint. Mercifully, the X app has acted quickly to once again take down [his] scandalous posts.”

Diaz is seeking at least $1 million in damages.

Latto Claims Sim Card & Twitter Account Hack Job Led To Disrespectful Nicki Minaj Tweets

Latto has broken her silence on the incident that occurred earlier this month, when she alleged hackers took control of her Twitter and tweeted disrespectful remarks about Nicki Minaj.

During her recent appearance on WNBA star Angel Reese’s podcast, Unapologetically Angel, Latto was joined by singer Mariah The Scientist and shared a humorous but exasperated account of how the situation unfolded.

“I knew my Twitter was hacked, but I was like, ‘Damn, why they not tweeting?’” Latto explained.

The “Big Mama” rapper recounted how she first noticed something strange when trying to post a Snapchat during a workout in, only to find her service malfunctioning.

“I was in the gym trying to post my little elliptical s###, and it didn’t upload,” she said. “I go to my email and it says, ‘Thanks for giving permission to [someone else],’ this gives this account permission to dm, tweet everything. So I’m like, ‘What the?’ Then I’m like, ‘Oh, my phone show was tripping earlier.'”

Realizing something wasn’t right, Latto says she approached her sister Brooke and asked her to explain what was going on because she considers herself a “grandma” when it comes to technology. It was at that point when they both collectively realized her account had been compromised, and the alleged fraudulent activity began kicking off.

“She’s [Brooke] like, ‘Wait, listen, your sim card might have got hacked’,” she said. “My sim card got hacked. How is y’all doing this? How is that happening? How do that happen? Then they get the tweet about shouting. I’m like, ‘Now they really going to believe this s##t.'”

Ultimately, Latto had to get a whole new phone to resolve the issue, which she found both stressful and surprising. “I had to buy me a new phone, but now Verizon with me,” she said, grateful for the help she received in resolving the hack.

The incident, though stressful for Latto, left her fans buzzing as the strange tweets had many questioning what was happening behind the scenes. In addition to tweets such as “what’s up n###a” that appeared to have no additional context, a few of the remarks shared directly attacked Nicki Minaj, who Latto has ben feuding with for years. In the most significant remark tweeted, the mysterious hacker who may have taken control of her account trolled Minaj for her ongoing rap beef with Cardi B and her husband Kenneth Petty’s sexual assault case.

“Nicki acting like I won’t smack her bald ass,” Latto’s tweet reads in part. “Cardi had her running for her life, sex offender husband, cash money c## rag, child p####### speech on MUTE, built like a wisdom tooth, empty azz crowd, fake New York accent.”

In another tweet laced with expletives, the alleged hacker took another personal shot at Nicki Minaj: “F##k Nicki Minaj that fat b###h.”
