A NAACP leader and civil rights activist has been accused of disguising herself as a black woman when she is really white. Rachel Dolezal’s parents, Ruthanne and Larry, outed her, saying that they are white and their daughter is of Czech, Swedish and German descent, Buzzfeed reports.
“She’s our birth daughter and we’re both of European descent,” her father said. “We’re puzzled and it’s very sad.”
When confronted about it by the Spokesman-Review, Dolezal said she wants to speak with her superiors before addressing the media.
“I feel like I owe my executive committee a conversation” before engaging in a broader discussion with the community about what she described as a “multi-layered” issue.”
Dolezal is the president of the NAACP chapter in Spokane, Washington and is also an adjunct professor of Africana Studies at Eastern Washington University. She also obtained her master’s degree from Howard University, a historically black university. She has even gone as far as identifying a black man as her father and passing off her adopted black brothers as her sons.
President Dolezal's father announced today that he will be coming to town for the January 19th ribbon-cutting ceremony…
Posted by Spokane NAACP on Tuesday, January 13, 2015
Mrs. Dolezal told the Spokesman-Review that her daughter began to disguise herself as a black woman between 2006 and 2007, after she and her husband had adopted four black children.
“It’s very sad that Rachel has not just been herself,” Mrs. Dolezal said. “Her effectiveness in the causes of the African-American community would have been so much more viable, and she would have been more effective if she had just been honest with everybody.”
Mr. Dolezal said that he is not sure of why his daughter would lie about her race but that it may be related to her two decades worth of civil rights work.
“She has over the past 20 years assimilated herself into the African American community through her various advocacy and social justice work, and so that may be part of the answer.”
Dolezal’s parents, said that their daughter “doesn’t want us visible in the Spokane area in her circle because we’re Caucasian.”
Dolezal is also the chair of Spokane’s police oversight commission. She is now being investigated by Spokane City Hall, where she indicated on her application for the commission that she was white, black and American Indian.
“We are gathering facts to determine if any city policies related to volunteer boards and commissions have been violated,” Mayor David Condon and Council President Ben Stuckart said in a joint statement. “That information will be reviewed by the City Council, which has oversight of city boards and commissions.”

Trolling seems to be an art form at times. It seems that someone told Troy Ave that his latest album Major Without A Deal was the hottest thing since Jay Z’s The Black Album, and he ran with it. Ain’t no way. The fans didn’t take it easy on him for the comparison or his first week sales.

Does Karrueche like girls now? After all she experienced with Chris Brown, maybe she decided to switch sides. Karrueche seems to enjoy messing with the paparazzi, so her recent response to them about her liking girls more could be just that. However, Chris Brown told us about those threesomes!

Is seems that Future has gone back to one of his baby mamas, Brittni, since his split with Ciara. Allegedly, Future’s infidelity was one of the reasons him and CiCi split. The question is…. is Brittni okay with his cheating ways? Her response to a Future groupie seems to suggest that she is.

Tyga’s unconventional relationship with Kylie Jenner is not the only reason he’s spending so much time with her. Allegedly, he really is grooming her for the music industry. Allegedly Jenner has been recording her first album, and Tyga is producing it. She has showcased her “vocals” on her snap chat, but in today’s music you don’t have to have strong vocals or talent, so this could work. Jenner is also leaning on Pia Mia and Kanye West for advice. Supposedly, her music will be similar to Tinashe’s sound.
(AllHipHop News) “Big was ahead of his time. Him and Raekwon my n*ggas, but dig it, they couldn’t get along,” rapped Nas on the 2002 song “Last Real N*gga Real Alive.” The issues between The Notorious B.I.G. and members of the Wu-Tang Clan were brought up again during a recent interview on the Don’t Be Scared podcast.
The show’s hosts David, Jah, and Danni spoke with Junior Mafia affiliate Jacob York. The close friend of Biggie and executive producer of Lil Kim’s debut album Hard Core spoke about the Big-Wu beef.
York said:
Method Man was on [Biggie’s] album [Ready To Die] so we were all sitting there like, “Huh?” When [Raekwon’s Only Built 4 Cuban Linx…] album dropped and we heard the [“Shark N*ggas (Biters)”] interlude… We heard that and we were like, “What the hell was that about?” No one saw it coming. It came out of left field. It got squashed that fast…
You ever notice that [Biggie] never put out a diss record against him? He rapped it. He got it off his chest. He just told me to erase it…
He had to vent. He’s an emcee, so he has to vent. He has to get things off his chest. He got it off his chest, and said, “Erase that Jacob. Make sure you erase that.” He killed it. He murdered it…
I’m not gonna say [if it was directed at the entire Wu-Tang Clan], but he got a lot off his chest on that record.
Some rap listeners have suspected The Notorious B.I.G track “Kick In The Door” was a subliminal diss toward the Wu, Nas, and others. The DJ Premier produced record appeared on the posthumous LP Life After Death.
York also dispelled a longstanding rumor involving the Junior Mafia crew. According to York, Biggie never wrote any of Lil Kim’s lyrics. The Brooklyn legend would simply re-rap some of Kim’s verses to help give her a reference on how to deliver the words.
He also revealed Big studied OutKast while he was recording Ready To Die. The Atlanta group’s Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik served as inspiration for Biggie’s debut album released five months later.

(AllHipHop News) A lot of celebrities shun the label of role model, but Kendrick Lamar is one famous performer that is embracing the part. The To Pimp A Butterfly album creator discussed taking on the task of being a leader for young people during an interview with Generations.
“These kids out here, they anointed me as some type of leader, and it’s just me accepting that. That’s the role. That’s one of my things I’m working on today,” said Kendrick while in Paris.
The Q&A also includes K. Dot naming his favorite song off TPAB. The Compton, California representative later shows off his French-speaking skills and teaches interviewer Baloo how to do the “King Kunta” dance moves.

(AllHipHop News) With all the internal drama happening at Cash Money Records, the label is also dealing with outside legal issues from Jas Prince. The son of Rap-A-Lot records founder J. Prince wants money from Cash Money for his part in introducing Drake to YMCMB’s Lil Wayne.
The younger Prince is seeking $4 million from Cash Money for what he says was an agreement made which promised he would receive advance and royalty payments for Drake’s music released through the imprint. That situation is still being resolved in the courts.
In the meantime, Jas spoke with Fader about his role in connecting Drake with his eventual label home. The 27-year-old Houston native revealed initially Wayne was not interested in the Toronto rhymer’s music.
Prince said:
At the time I was really cool with Lil Wayne, and I brought Drake to his attention, too. I was like, “Yo, I have an artist I’m working with and I believe he’s dope.” His response was just: “Jas, don’t ever play this for me again. He sucks!” But I’m persistent. Wayne didn’t stop me—I kept pursuing it, pursuing it, pursuing it.
According to Prince, after playing several more of Drake’s songs – including “Replacement Girl,” “Brand New,” and remix of “A Milli” – Wayne changed his mind. They flew Drake to Houston the next day, and the rest is history.
Prince also mentioned the business fallout with Cash Money and Wayne’s manager. He claimed Drake was not aware his new team was attempting to freeze Prince out of the deal.
He added:
Cortez Bryant is Wayne’s manager. When we figured out that we wanted to work on the project, Cortez flew down to Houston and sat with me and my dad and we talked about how we were going to do it—50/50, with him and Wayne and me and my dad, Young Money and Young Empire. But then things got quiet. We got a little call that they’re moving on, things are happening [but] we ain’t really got not deal together. My dad extended a hand and put a call out to Birdman and Slim, because those are his people over there. We went to meet in LA with Cash Money and Cortez and we all structured the deal that we had. They was trying to do it without me. It seemed like Drake didn’t know too much about what was going on, the business part was kind of between us.
Consequence and Lupe Fiasco connect for their first collab “Countdown” featuring Chris Turner.

Bobby Creekwater puts protege Chan J in the spotlight for the second single from the forthcoming Energy7 compilation project Bobby Creekwater Presents: Crown Affairs. “Like That” finds a very honest Chan J delivering a smooth, passionate ode to the pursuit of success. But don’t get it twisted: he knows this success is his destiny and vows he’s here to “put the city [Atlanta] on his back.” These two releases are proof that he’s definitely prepared to forge a new lane in Atlanta’s current musical climate.
While Chan J’s name may ring a few bells, thanks to his 2014 debut mixtape Complex Dreams, “Like That” is newcomer and fellow Energy7 artist Jimmy Collins’ debut and an indication of things to come.
Founded by Bobby Creekwater and entrepreneur Steve Harrell, Energy7 is a boutique founded on the principles that once put Atlanta on course to continue Motown’s legacy. Due out June 26, Bobby Creekwater Presents: Crown Affairs will serve as the perfect introduction to the label’s main objective: a return to carefully crafted artistry and timeless music.
Twitter’s CEO Dick Costolo is about to step down from his job as head of the social media company, and the popular app will be looking for a new chief executive. Snoop Dogg wants a crack at the position.
The rapper started the #SnoopforCEO and #ifSnoopWasTwitterCEO hashtags. Uncle Snoop got a good number of retweets (aka retwizzles) and replies. Some of his followers added, “You got my vote.”
Snoop does have some good business ventures under his belt (see: Snoop Dogg Invests In “Uber For Weed” Delivery Company Eaze), but Twitter probably won’t be calling him up for an interview. It is fun to watch the Hip Hop legend campaign for the gig though.

YP fans rejoice! In advance of its official release, DJBooth is hosting a pre-release listening session for the Chicago emcee’s forthcoming project, Untitled.
As its name suggests, Untitled is all about the music, showcasing a more mature YP in the wake of the tragic loss of his son last year. Not knowing what his next step in life would be, the final product is one that packages all of the artist’s raw emotions over the last few months.
Totaling a brisk eight tracks, the project is preceded by lead single “Get Nothin” and also includes previous Booth features “Let Us Pray” and “Indica.” Caleb James and Rockie Fresh are the only two guests on the tracklisting, and while Xtreme handles the majority of the production, he’s assisted by C-Sick, J. Mixx and Sickone.
(AllHipHop News) Once again a satirical website has confused some readers into believing a bogus story is the truth. An article titled “Jay-Z Sells Tidal Music for $1 Billion 3 Months After $56 Million Purchase” is circulating on social media, but the source of the post is the fake news site Love That News.
The fabricated article claimed Jay sold his new Tidal streaming service to Facebook owner Mark Zuckerberg. Earlier this month a similar story was posted by another satirical site Celebtricity. That article claimed the supposed sale was for $2.3 billion. Both articles were shared thousands of times on Facebook with some users thinking the information was accurate.
This is not the first time a Hip Hop figure has been caught up in a falsified news story that went viral. In November 2014, the New York Times had to issue a correction after a writer used a fake quote attributed to Kanye West. The quote was taken from the satirical website The Daily Currant.
Rachel Dolezal is a highly regarded, well-known Civil Rights leaders in the Spokane, Washington, but the figure has come under massive scrutiny for misrepresenting her racial background. Dolezal is the leader of the local NAACP chapter, but she is reportedly not African American. She has been living her life as a Black woman but her family has exposed her. Her mother has stated on the record that Dolezal’s background is white—Czech, Swedish, German and some Indigenous blood. A reporter asked Dolezal if she was African American and her response was quite telling.
ABC affiliate’s reporter: “Are you African-American?”
“I don’t understand the question.”
Then she walked away.
Check out the video below and then see some of the memes circulating.
Dipset members Jim Jones and Julez Santana have reportedly lost $500,000 because of immigration issues after they were forbidden to enter Canada earlier in the week.
Apparently, the crew thought that their prior arrests may have been a problem but they took the liberty to hire a lawyer preemptively. The lawyer told them that they were cleared to travel to Canada, according to TMZ.
However, when they got to the border at Buffalo, NY the pair were stopped and their highly profitable 11-date tour was suddenly cancelled.
No word if Juelz and Jim will try to hold the legal team liable for their loss in revenue.
