Photo via Maliah’s Instagram

“Someone tell Maliah I’m on fire she should work tonight.” Adult entertainer and ex of Drake, Sean Kingston and more, Maliah, was recently spotted with The Game at the Ace of Diamonds exotic club in LA. The two being spotted together wasn’t what got people talking, it was the fact that Maliah is still stripping. Many believed she had made enough money from stripping to retire, while the rest believed Sean Kingston had at least given her enough to retire. Fans joked with comments asking how she still hadn’t graduated from the pole yet. They even brought up the fact that her stripper peers had surpassed her with new endeavors, marriage, families and more. Hey maybe she makes a lot of money and still likes to dance. Let’s start a GoFundMe and get Maliah off the pole.

Adele’s ’25’ Predicted To Sell Over 1 Million Copies In Its First Week

(AllHipHop News) Adele is not a Hip Hop artist, but the appeal of her soulful voice crosses genres. After taking a four year hiatus from her last studio project, 21, the British songstress is ready to return with 25 next month.

25 is still three weeks away from being released, but Billboard is already reporting the album is on pace to sell over 1 million copies in its first week. In fact, industry projections have Adele’s third LP pushing between 1.3 and 1.8 million copies out the gate.

That 1.3 – 1.8 million range puts 25 close to earning the biggest debut week by a female artist in the Nielsen era. The current record holder is Britney Spears’ Oops!… I Did It Again which opened with 1.32 million units in May 2000.

The last act to cross the million sales mark in one week was Taylor Swift. The Pop sensation sold 1.29 million units in 2014. Swift also achieved that feat in 2012 with Red (1.28 million).

Adele’s 2011 album 21 has gone on to sell over 11 million copies in the United States. The Grammy-winning project spent four years on the Billboard 200 chart.

Vince Staples Offers An Apology For Hurting Anyone’s Feelings, Spoke With N.O.R.E After Online Clash

(AllHipHop News) Vince Staples ignited a firestorm after saying in an interview he did not understand why 1990’s Hip Hop is credited as the “Golden Era.” His comments with Time also included the Long Beach rhymer stating the decade did not have a 50 Cent or Kanye West and the “early 2000’s is where it’s at.”

The remarks led to backlash from many Hip Hop fans and even N.O.R.E of the rap group Capone-N-Noreaga responded. Noreaga and Staples began engaging each other on Twitter about the controversy. Staples returned to Twitter to reveal he spoke with N.O.R.E by phone, and the two rappers seemed to have settled any issues.

The “Norf Norf” spitter also sent out a tweet stating, “Just talked to [Shade 45 host] Sway. I apologize if I hurt anyone’s feelings. I meant no disrespect. I respect everyone trying to feed theirs. But do you?”

Was Vince’s apology sincere or a continuation of a troll job? He later tweeted, “I didn’t envision this being as funny as it is from the start.”

Is Blac Chyna Okay With Being One Of Future’s Many Women?

Photo via Blac Chyna’s Instagram

Rumor has it that Blac Chyna is okay with being one of Future’s women, and she isn’t completely bothered by the fact that he is claiming single status. Apparently a source close to the situation told TMZ that Chyna was hurt by Future’s low blow tweet, but she feels Future’s actions speak louder since he allegedly spends every weekend with her. Another source is claiming that Blac Chyna knows exactly what kind of relationship she got herself into, and allegedly she is okay with it as long as he pays her bills and treats her well. Anything goes in the entertainment industry huh? We have to ask again, is Blac Chyna overrated?

Is K Camp Getting “Comfortable” With Keke Palmer?

Photo via K Camp’s Instagram

K Camp & Keke Palmer seem to be getting pretty close. Last month the two were showing each other a lot of love on Instagram. Keke showed love in support of K Camp’s album, and K Camp posted a photo of Keke with his lyrics underneath. Other than the IG posts the two have been mum about their flirting and relationship, but Wendy Williams wanted to get to the bottom of it. When Wendy asked K Camp were they an item, K replied saying the two were “comfortable.” This could be a good look for both of them, or maybe just some fun.

Ebro & Amber Rose Debate S### Walk, Sexism & Female Sexuality [AUDIO]

(AllHipHop News) Amber Rose has been on a mission to redefine the meaning of words that have typically been used to degrade women. The model recently hosted a “S### Walk,” and she released a new book entitled How To Be A Bad B####.

[ALSO READ: Amber Rose Breaks Down While Speaking About Wiz Khalifa (VIDEO)]

Rose was a guest on Joe Budden’s podcast this week. At one point, Hot 97 host Ebro joined the show. Amber and Ebro then got into a debate about sexism and female sexuality.

“I feel like when it comes to women, you may get a bit intimidated by our sexuality and confidence,” Rose told Ebro.

The radio personality responded, “If that’s your impression, there’s nothing I can do about that. I don’t feel that… The only issue you and I ever had was [over the] S### Walk.”

The conversation then turned to a previous discussion between Rose and Darden. Apparently, Ebro once offered advice to Amber about how to improve her relationships with men.

“I was talking to you about how as a woman you need to change your circumstances and your surroundings,” stated Ebro.

“But that’s the thing. As a woman, I don’t need to do sh*t. I’m a human being,” replied Amber.

“I was just trying to help you have better successful relationships,” said Ebro. “You can do whatever you want. I was just trying to help out.”

Rose countered, “The reason why I’m doing a S### Walk is to not have things like that being said. That’s the whole point. It’s not ‘as a woman’ I need to be doing anything. As a human being – fine. But it’s always a double standard.”

Ebro then suggested Amber should stop going to clubs if she wants to find a man that takes himself seriously, and he only sees the 32-year-old mother spending time around rappers.

Rose answered by pointing out that Ebro assumed she goes to clubs to find dates, which she denied. The ex-girlfriend of Kanye West and ex-wife of Wiz Khalifa also stated she has only been in a serious relationship with two rappers in six years.

Producers Of Tupac Biopic File $10 Million Lawsuit Against Film Studio

The producers of Tupac’s biopic are about to go head-to-head in a court battle. According to Billboard, the production company Emmett Furla Oasis has filed a lawsuit against Morgan Creek Productions for setting a budget and production schedule and selecting a leading star without their approval. Emmett Furla is seeking $10 million in damages.

Randall Emmett and George Furla say the film had been stalled until they came on board in 2013. When Emmett and Furla became apart of the film, their agreement with Morgan Creek Productions stated that the production budget would not exceed $30 million, they would be included in the approval of the production schedule and would have full control over who would be the director and leading man.

Emmett and Furla claim that they arranged a deal with Open Roads Films for the biopic but Morgan Creek rejected it initially, only to return to them and sign a deal. This violated the production agreement. Morgan Creek also suddenly rushed Emmett/Furla to produce evidence that they could pay for half of the film’s budget or risk not being a part of the film after the success of Straight Outta Compton biopic. They also wanted them to agree to new terms that were not in their original agreement and brought them a budge of $34 million. Emmett and Furla also claim that Morgan Creek was meeting with an actor that they were pursuing to play Tupac without informing them, which was apart of their agreement.

Emmett and Furla are claiming breaches of contract, breach of the implied covenant and breach of fiduciary duty.

#ATLRiseUp: Speakerfoxxx Upholds Atlanta’s Hip Hop Past & Foresees A New Awakening In The City’s Future

Where would Atlanta Hip Hop be without the city’s DJs? The individuals behind the turntables have as much control over the tunes emanating from A-Town as the artists themselves. And many of those songs’ first break comes from providing the soundtrack to one of the Dirty South’s favorite pastimes – frequenting strip clubs.

While the culture is still mostly dominated by male deejays, the ladies are controlling the sounds in the adult entertainment establishments as well. Speakerfoxxx is one Atlanta native that feels she was born to DJ in the gentleman nightspots. In fact, one of her earliest regular gigs was spinning records at Stilettos.

[ALSO READ: #ATLRiseUp: Genius Is Blurring The Line Between Being A DJ And An Artist]

“People end up at the strip club even after they go out. It’s just part of our culture. It’s part of Atlanta. A lot of artists hang out in strip clubs,” Speakerfoxxx informs AllHipHop.com. “It’s definitely where I go to hear new music first. As a DJ, I like going there to hear what records are trying to be broken. They get broken in the strip club before they go to radio.”

Speakerfoxxx’s appreciation for her hometown’s love of diamond dancing should not put the entertainer in a box. The woman also known as Nilan has expanded her brand to include performing at numerous festivals nationwide, releasing mix projects, and participating in Shade 45’s The Aphilliates: Streetz Iz Watchin radio program with DJ Drama, Don Cannon, and Trendsetter Sense.

Her career also includes stints serving as a tour deejay with Yelawolf, Rittz, and Three 6 Mafia. It was her connection with one Three 6 member in particular which led to a close personal friendship. Speakerfoxxx began DJing for Gangsta Boo, and she also united the Memphis rapstress with producers Sinjin Hawke, Brodinski, SpaceGhostPurrp, and BeatKing.

Speakerfoxxx + Gangsta Boo
Speakerfoxxx + Gangsta Boo

“We met at one of Yelawolf’s shows in New York. Honestly, it was like we just loved each other right away,” says Speakerfoxxx about joining with Gangsta Boo. “She needed a DJ. I thought she was the sh*t. I still think she’s the sh*t. She’s always been a woman in the industry I’ve looked up to. I have always respected her huge discography of music. She is still the hardest female rapper making music. She is definitely the hardest out there.”

That opinion is not just based on the special link between the two Southerners. Hip Hop seeps through Speakerfoxxx’s core as an artist. She discovered Atlanta rap pioneers Kilo Ali and Raheem The Dream from listening to the radio as a child, and she can quickly rattle off Mia X and La Chat as some of her favorite rappers.

Hip Hop is an important part of Speakerfoxxx’s presentation, but she actually began her journey in music as a singer in the church choir. Middle school introduced Nilan to the flute and guitar. By high school, she formed and played in several Jazz and Punk Rock bands. A young Foxxx then began hitting the music scene around town, but eventually her on stage interests shifted.

“There was a point where I kind of got sick of going to see bands. I started going out to clubs around 16 or 17,” explains Speakerfoxxx. “I started being influenced by DJs in high school. I took an interest in seeing DJs over seeing bands live.”

Speakerfoxxx bought her first set of turntables at 20 and started DJing at a local pool hall. Not long after embracing the wheels of steel, Ian Ford and DJ Diabase inspired her to take those skills more seriously. The opportunities to DJ at several ATL hotspots soon opened up.

The W Atlanta hotel tapped her to cover the Midtown and Buckhead locations, and for the past five years Speakerfoxxx has had a weekly residency at the El Bar. In January, she celebrated her half-decade anniversary at the locale with an appearance by production legend Mannie Fresh.

“I just found the El Bar to be really cool. My artist friends get it. It’s cheap. It’s kind of like a secret, underground club,” states The Academy affiliate. “Celebrities and musicians come in there and feel comfortable. My underground artist friends come in there. Regular folks come in there. DJs love it. It doesn’t discriminate in any way. Not everyone wants to go to a strip club or a bottle service club all the time.”

Speakerfoxxx can be seen every Friday at the trendy lounge located on Ponce de Leon Ave. The award-winning DJ has upcoming shows at Art Basel Miami and a monthly series with Philadelphia’s Dirty South Joe on the horizon as well.

Speakerfoxxx + Hoodrich Keem
Speakerfoxxx + Hoodrich Keem

Besides crisscrossing the country, Speakerfoxxx has taken time to partner with Hoodrich Keem for the Noisey/Vice sponsored HOODWITCH mix. She has also released her own mixtapes like Dopegirl Anthems, Skin, and Skin II: The Art Of Letting Go. The creation of the next installment in the Skin series is underway.

“When I’m working on a mixtape or project, I create a crate and start selecting music. I’ve already created a crate for Skin III,” she reveals. “Anytime I hear something that resonates – something that’s a beautiful, nostalgic, soul sound – whether it’s an old or new track, I throw it in that crate. So when it comes time for me to make another Skin mix, I’ve already started working on it along the way.”

Speakerfoxxx’s mixes incorporate tracks from lyrical rappers, Pop performers, R&B crooners, EDM artists, and of course Atlanta’s Trap stars. Even while endorsing an eclectic range of musical styles, the former tattoo apprentice, painter, and photographer still upholds the sound she refers to as the ATL’s birthright.

“I think art periods go through changes. If you looked at what Picasso was doing and you said just Cubism is art, that would be incorrect. Because you leave out the Abstract movement, Surrealism, all this rich stuff. Graffiti art and street art are movements that are really in right now. But that doesn’t define art. That’s just a piece of the whole,” says Speakerfoxxx in defense of the current dominating Trap campaign.

She adds, “If you look at our [Atlanta’s] history, we went from Raheem The Dream to Kilo Ali. Then we went from Kilo to DJ Smurf and that whole sound. Then we got Goodie Mob and OutKast. None of that sh*t sounds like Trap music. Then we come into the Snap era with D4L and Dem Franchize Boyz. Then we have Gucci Mane and Jeezy. And then we go to where we are now.”

In Speakerfoxxx’s eyes, Atlanta Hip Hop is heading on a new course led in part by diverse acts such as Miloh Smith, Abra, Bosco, ManMan Savage, 21 Savage, Key!, Swag Hollywood, Nebu Kiniza, WDNG Crshrs, Scotty ATL, EarthGang, and Raury.

“You’ll have a movement for 10, 20, or 100 years. It’s like the Dark Ages for example,” suggests Speakerfoxxx. “But after the Dark Ages, then what happened? The Renaissance era arrived which celebrated beauty, light, and art. This is just a period within a cycle, and each period is instrumental, beautiful, and important.”

DMX Arrested Again For Not Paying Child Support

DMX was arrested for failing to pay child support again, according to USA Today. He was arrested on Tuesday (Oct.27) at his home in Westchester, N.Y on a contempt of court charge after not paying his ex-wife, Tashera Simmons, $10,000 a month in child support.

Luckily for X, he was released later that day after explaining to the judge that being incarcerated would further prevent him from paying the child support.

“All I have is my name and my reputation,” he said, adding that doing shows was the “only way [he] can make a living.” He was released without bail.

The “Party Up” rapper was released from jail in September after serving three months of a six month sentence, also related to not paying child support.
