Kids And That Thug Life: Joy And Pain

Kids. Hip-Hop. America.

Take a look at this video, largely comprised of young kids, seemingly influenced by that ol’ 90’s philosophy of “Thug Life.” At first, one may feel a euphoric haze of hilarity fall over one until the deeply troubling, real life implications become apparent. Tell us your thoughts.

Making noise out the gate, the Queens and Bronx natives present us with their first release named after one of New York City’s most famous streets, Lenox Ave. With a gritty boom-bap feel in tow, the duo showcase their skills and lyrical ability while putting on for their hometown’s respectively. The Phenomenal Multimedia directed video heavily showcases his street-influenced style which is sure to continue with each release as he prepares to drop his project very soon. Look for that and continue to support good music!

Hip-Hop Rumors: Keri Hilson Performs For Empty Crowd

Poor Miss Keri baby…and allegedly this isn’t the first time a situation like this has happened to the singer.

Instagram video had surfaced of the singer opening up for Lenny Kravitz, performing for a stadium filled with empty chairs.

RhymeswithSnitch reports:

“Two years ago singer/songwriter Kerri Hilson performed at a concert in Nigeria to the opposite of a sold out crowd.

Apparently not much has changed…
Over the weekend Keri Hilson performed at the AT&T Playoff Playlist Live!, opening for Lenny Kravitz at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, but hardly anybody showed up to see her get down.

Even worse concert reviewers claimed Kerri left the stage in the middle of her 30 min set for over five minutes with no explanation, no costume change, no nothing.””

Seems like she never could bounce back once she came for the BeyHive…

Noisey Explores Atlanta's Drug Trade And 'Trap Music' In 'Welcome To Atlanta Part 1' (VIDEO)

Thanks to shows like Love and Hip Hop: Atlanta and Bravo’s The Real Housewives of Atlanta, outsiders only see the city’s upscale side. In the first installment of Welcome To Atlanta, Noisey explores the city’s major drug trade, made easy by their roads deemed the”Spaghetti Junction,” which allows access to any city on the east coast. After watching former D-boy Curtis Snow cook crack and define Atlanta’s “trap music,” Thomas Morton discusses the rise and demise of Detroit-turned-Atlanta drug gang the Black Mafia Family and what their last soldier standing, rapper Bleu Davinci, is up to these days. Morton also paid the strip club a visit with ATL trio Migos.
