Mike stated about the concert:

Over the last few weeks, we’ve witnessed several great moments for Atlanta Hip-Hop. The ATL: The Untold Story of Atlanta’s Rise in the Rap Game documentary took us back to where it all started. The Outkast #ATLast weekend was historic on so many levels. Not only did it remind us of where Outkast took the game, and the many artists that were ready to prove that “The South had something to say” when ‘Kast proclaimed; but also, with the inclusion of artists like K Camp, Childish Gambino, Raury, B.O.B. and Rae Sremmurd, showing us how many new voices are ready to keep our voice strong.

So I figured, what better time to celebrate to celebrate the second wave of artists to come out of the Dungeon Family. Cool Breeze, Slim Calhoun, Blackowned C-Bone, EJ Da Witchdoctor, Backbone, Lil Will and myself have all contributed classic material to reinforce Atlanta’s place in Hip-Hop. And Scotty ATL has proven time and again that he is ready to carry that torch.

“Dungeons & Dragons: The Real A-Town Experience” is scheduled for Friday, October 10 at The Loft in Atlanta. Tickets are available at TicketAlternative.com.

Hip-Hop Rumors: Is Mariah Carey Headed To Rehab?

Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon are in the forefront of the media mess since their divorce has seemingly fizzled. Nobody know why, but there are rumors coming out. Sorry, Nick. The word on the street is that Mariah may be headed to rehab for alcohol abuse. She is reportedly going down a similar path as our beloved Whitney Houston. We are going to have to say a collective prayer for Mariah from what I’ve heard. Nobody can get a word in because she is totally insulated with people sucking her dry – just for the money. This bout with alcohol had also affected her ability to sing those high notes too, from what I am hearing. Mariah is a “functioning” drunk, they say. If this is the case, it is not new. There are a lot of people that have addictions that they are able to live with. BLESS HER!

Drake Beats The Beatles' Billboard Hot 100 Record

Someone please cue the horns. It’s definitely trophieSZN for Drake.

The Canadian rapper made history when he surpassed one of the greatest bands of all time, The Beatles, with his amount of Billboard Hot 100 singles. His recent feature on his newest artist, iLoveMakonnen’s track, Tuesday counted as Drizzy’s 72nd notch in his designer belt. The Beatles fell short at 71.

Drake has always been a rapper who has never had a problem standing alone. With his new attained title, standing strong at number eight for the most entries, he now shares the throne with greats; those that came before him and as well as his peers. Young Money leader and mentor to Drizzy, Lil Wayne, holds the highest amount as a rapper at an impressive 122 entries. The rapper to hold the second highest amount is Jay-Z at 82. However, no one has been able to compete with the hit TV show, Glee, holding it down at 207 entries.

Although Drake still falls behind trailblazers like Aretha Franklin, James Brown, Ray Charles, and Elvis, with due time, we’re sure that his numbers will keep climbing.

Tour life must be exciting! Its so exciting that Jay Z is rumored to be creating a documentary on the “On The Run” tour. The documentary will serve two purposes, according to the rumors. 1) It will look to dispel the rumors that they are getting a divorce and 2) Show the world how hard they work behind the scenes. There is a third. 3) Rumor has it, Jay Z will be directing the movie himself. I am not sure I personally want to see this. I would rather I get a new Jay Z album instead! But…

Usher Visits The Breakfast Club

Usher sat down with Power 105.1’s The Breakfast Club to chop it up about his upcoming album, UR, and the UR Experience tour that kicks off Nov. 1st.

Ush touched on why he saw it fit to bring August Alsina on the road after August asked to go on the road with him.

“It’s offering that window and offering that opportunity. I’m still keeping with that. It’s what Janet Jackson did for me. It’s what Mary J. Blige did for me. It’s what Puff, P. Diddy & The Family did for me. So I’m doing the same thing.”

Mr. Raymond also said this tour is not just about his upcoming album and will serve as a celebration of his 20-year-career.

“I wanna bring everybody in one room and celebrate. And I’ll probably be finished with it while I’m on tour and just start introducing certain records.”

Michael Brown Demonstrators Interrupt The St. Louis Symphony

Ferguson demonstrators have taken their protests from the streets to the symphony.

Over the weekend (Oct.4), peaceful protesters interrupted a performance at the St. Louis Symphony to sing a tune of their own in honor of the late 18-year-old Michael Brown, who was killed Aug. 9th by police officer Darren Wilson. A group of 50 musical protesters were scattered throughout the audience and surprised  unknowing concertgoers as they gradually stood to their feet to sing a Brahms Requiem entitled “Requiem for Mike Brown.”

The mixed group of demonstrators sang “Justice for Mike Brown is Justice for us all/Which side are you on friend?/Which side are you on?

As they rose to their feet, banners hung from the balconies that read “Racism Lives Here,” Rise up and join the movement” and “Requiem for Mike Brown.” Watch the video below.
