Fluent – "Leanin In the Whip"

If you’re the type of person that enjoys bumping radio friendly hits in your momma’s ride, don’t bother checking out Fluent. As an artist who has made a rather strong impact in a relatively short timespan, the North Carolina native can ride out with the best of ’em. For the debut visuals taken from Fluent’s previously released, Supreme Victory LP, the appropriately titled, “Leanin In the Whip” illustrates Flu’s knack for making big records over the punchy, bass heavy production of J. Cardim (Lil Wayne, Wale, French Montana, Joe Budden).

While the video gives us a number of colorful shots detailing Flu’s surroundings and ride of choice, director Dev ShotYa takes us on on a ride with Fluent at the helm, as he dips through Raleigh. Until Fluent gets set for the forthcoming release of Supreme Victory 2 (SV2), which is set to include features from the likes of French Montana, Sean Kingson, Chevy Woods, Fred the Godson, Red Cafe and more, be sure to get familiar with the first installment, where you can give it a spin via SoundCloud, or purchase through iTunes!

Vice Souletric – "Hate Myself" (VIDEO)

Why is it easier to tear someone down than it is to build them up? In truth, our differences should be celebrated; there’s no reason to segregate ourselves because of how we look, what we believe, or how we view the world. Unfortunately, this message isn’t passed onto the youth as often as it should, which in turn makes the world a more hateful place. And while society may chastise African Americans for not fitting to a set series of characteristics, Vice Soulectric will stand up and refute those claims. “Hate Myself,” which is beautifully shot in a snowy cemetery, adds to the cold aesthetic from the Ohio based producer/emcee as he raps about everything wrong in the system. The song’s sentiments are further defined by the bookend sample speech from the late Malcolm X, which proves that this toxic mind state is nothing new. Vice Soulectric’s upcoming project Vice for President is set for an April 7th release date through United Grind, so be sure to check out the visuals and mark your calendars!
