In an era where gentrification is running wild, I don’t know what to think of this one. You know, Whites moving into Black neighborhoods and taking them over is all the rage these days! But, some people created an app to counter this nighty movement. SketchFactor is apparently an app that will appear in the iTunes app store and will help White folk avoid “sketchy” areas. The crazy thing is that the company that created it is located in Manhattan! I’m thinking that this is not going to work since what is going on in NYC is the opposite! I am thinking this is one racist-a$$ app though! I’m not even going to talk about it anymore. I want White people to accidentally move into Lefrack City or QueensBridge on accident so they can really get a taste of the bass! Enoy! Get at me, dun!
I heard some disturbing rumors last night out of Harlem, New York. You know, rumors aren’t what they used to be and a lot of stuff goes viral quickly. But, I heard that Juelz Santana may have been beaten up yesterday in Harlem. Now, a female told an AllHipHop worker this and the worker told me. There isn’t much to this rumor, other than Juelz may have been knocked out in the streets. She said, “I just heard Santana got knocked out. He from around here. I don’t know details, just that he got beat pretty bad.” For the record, I hope there is no truth to this one. Santana is a cool dude, as far as I can tell.
Anyway, you already know Dipset may be getting back together. I don’t know how factual that is, but check out “Dipsh*ts.”
This is a weird one. I don’t know what is going on with Soulja Boy and the fake money. But, I have a clue about the mess that he’s in with Superhead aka Karrine Steffans. It seems like Superhead p##### the boy off so fast, so crazy that he dissed her a quick 20 min after proclaiming his love for her. Apparently, he tweeted that she was his “ride or die” and then said “f**k that b**ch.” LOL!!!!!
She deleted all her pics with SB as well. I smell a book coming!!!!!!
As Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles hits theaters today (Aug 8th), we as a Hip-Hop culture are reminded of our genre’s ever-present ability to spread like an amoeba to other corners of globe and to other areas of pop culture. Case in point the whole Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series of movies and cartoons. The four brothers have always had an affinity for Hip-Hop growing up in New York City, the birthplace of Hip-Hop, so you know they represent in the new movie. Who can forget in the cartoon when the turtles were breakdancing and spinning around on their shells à la Crazy Legs and other famous break dancers?
Juicy J, Wiz Khalifa, Ty Dolla $ign – “Shell Shocked” ft. Kill The Noise & Madsonik
But, this movie takes on a whole new level of action as the film enlisted the talents of the famous Megan Fox and summer blockbuster producer Michael Bay. Balancing a level of darkness, while still keeping true to the turtle’s ability to appeal to young audiences, director Jonathan Liebesman found the perfect balance for all viewers.
We don’t want to give anything away, but ironically enough the writers of the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (TMNT) movie are natives of New York City and they grew up listening to Wu-Tang other key players of the New York Hip-Hop scene of the early to mid 90’s. Writers Josh Appelbaum, André Nemec, Evan Daugherty all felt the need to incorporate Hip-Hop in the movie enough that theme song on the soundtrack is the Wiz Khalifa, Ty Dolla $ign and Juicy J featured song. While there’s been some controversy as Vanilla Ice hated on the song, it slaps and hits as hard as some of the kicks in the movie. Be sure to look out for the Hip-Hop undertones throughout the flick, from the great one liners, to the overall appearance of the turtles.

(AllHipHop News)The origin of Amber Rose and Kanye West finally has appeared in video form. Six years after shooting the video for the 808’s and Heartbreak song “RoboCop”, a 15 second snippet of the video has been released.
3D modeler Shihan Barbee released the video snippet on his personal Instagram account. In the video, directed by Hype Williams, West raps to a digitally redesigned Amber Rose. West flew Rose out to the Los Angeles video set after seeing her in Ludacris’ 2008 music video “What Them Girls Like”.
(AllHipHop News) 50 Cent’s #1 hit “In Da Club” was one of the most popular Hip Hop songs of the 2000’s. The Get Rich or Die Tryin’ track ruled the radio, MTV, and nightspots back in ’03, and according to a new study by the Society For Personality And Social Psychology, Fiddy’s single is also one of the most effective tunes to listen to before a job interview or business transaction.
NME reports the organization had two groups listen to different styles of music. One group listened to bass-heavy “high-power music” like “In Da Club,” Queen’s “We Will Rock You,” and 2 Unlimited’s “Get Ready For This.” The second group listened to “low-power music” like Notorious B.I.G.’s “Big Poppa”, Fatboy Slim’s “Because We Can,” and Baha Men’s “Who Let The Dogs Out?”
The study was designed to help determine the “psychological empowerment” of music. Inspired by athletes’ use of music to “pump themselves up” before games, researchers sought to see if certain musical styles could make someone feel more powerful and in control in situations like interviews.
The experiment determined the “high-power music” group tended to be more focused and productive. The “low-power music” group made more mistakes when measured for abstract thinking.
“One thing we know from prior research is that people who feel powerful tend to make the first offer in negotiations. Essentially, power is a propensity to act, to take charge of the situation,” said Derek Rucker, the report’s co-author.
Rucker added, “Just as professional athletes might put on empowering music before they take the field to get them in a powerful state of mind, you might try [this] in certain situations where you want to be empowered… Empowering music might be used strategically to get us in the right frame of mind.”

(AllHipHop News) The online spat between Gillie Da Kid and Soulja Boy has gone from Twitter to YouTube. Gillie gave an interview with Forbz DVD to address his issues with the “Crank That” performer.
“Man came on Twitter and said he’d slap me. So I found that amusing, considering that if you slap me, what hospital’s going to put your f**king hands back on,” said Gillie. “But then he call up n***as behind closed doors and try and get n***gas to squash it.”
Gillie then directed his comments straight to Soulja, telling the 24 year old he needs to apologize on Twitter. The whole ordeal began when Gillie posted the image below on Instagram with the caption, “N I Got 1 N I’m Lookin 4 U N***az!!!! #HideNseek #Ctfuuu #ImaCatchUn***az #souljaboyassn***az.”
Soulja Boy had recently been publicly criticized for showing fake money on Vine, and he took Gillie’s IG post as a blatant direct shot. Soulja responded on Twitter saying he would slap the Philadelphia rapper. The two then went back-and-forth via social media.
When asked if he was surprised that Soulja Boy didn’t take the infamously customary route of claiming he was hacked, Gillie added, “He better. He better be hacked before I catch his ass and hack him. I already know that was cocaine, so if he apologize Ima let it go.”
(AllHipHop News) Hip Hop veteran Keith Murray is preparing to face-off in a rap battle against Onyx’s Fredro Starr at an upcoming MC World event, but the Def Squad member recently spoke about real life battles he has had with Prodigy, Dame Dash, and Tupac Shakur.
Murray was a guest on Power 105’s The Breakfast Club. During the interview, he was asked about past physical altercations with other members of the Hip Hop community. He talked about fighting Mobb Deep’s Prodigy outside The Tunnel nightclub over lyrics he felt were directed at him.
“I seen them one day, and Havoc said, ‘Nah, we ain’t talking about you. We can go up to Hot 97 and clear it up.’ I said, ‘Nah, it’s cool,’ but then Prodigy is the one that kept talking, talking,” said Murray. “So when I seen him at The Tunnel… We went outside. They happened to be outside. Then he was like, ‘Yeah, it’s time. It’s time.’ I was like, ‘Time? Time?’ They started crossing the street, so I’m thinking it’s time to get busy. So ‘bang,’ ‘pow,’ ‘pow,’ ‘boom.’ He hit the ground, jumped up, started running. I’m chasing him. Then my cousins and them beat his mans and them up.”
The two New York rappers later spoke and were able to move past the incident. But that was not the only time Murray had a confrontation that started at a club. He also got into a fight with Roc-A-Fella’s Dame Dash at another location.
Murray was performing at Sweetwaters, and the DJ at the location kept messing up. Keith told the crowd to yell, “F**k the DJ.” The DJ happened to be connected to Dame.
“I didn’t know Dame Dash was in the house. I didn’t know he was associated with the DJ. I’m walking through, and somebody punches me in the eye – plow! I don’t know who did it. Come out to find out me and 50 Grand was in there. 50 Grand hits [Dame] in the eye with a bottle,” explained Murray. “Then I hear [Dame] goes to Jive [Records], demanding 10 gs for the stitches in his eye.”
Murray said the problems with Dame eventually “fizzled out,” thanks it part to the Erick Serman and Jay Z’s close relationship. He then spoke on meeting 2pac at The House of Blues. At first, it was all peace between the two, but someone in Pac’s crew confronted Murray over the song “I Shot Ya.”
“I was like, ‘I just seen 2Pac. He didn’t say anything to me.’ Rest in peace to 2Pac. I love and respect 2Pac to death,” said Murray. “[2Pac] walked up like, ‘I just wanted to know, because I got shot five times in New York, so I thought n***as was talking about me.’ – It was, ‘I Shot You’. I was like, ‘Nah, I Love you Pac.”
2Pac and Murray were able to settle the situation before it got physical.
(AllHipHop News) When Brooklyn rapper Bobby Shmurda’s street single “Hot N***a” started gaining steam, some listeners noticed the song resembled the Drill music sound made popular by Chicago rap artists.
One of those Chitown representatives has now addressed Bobby and his YouTube hit on a new diss track.
Ayoo Kd released a video of him rapping over the “Hot N***a” beat. On the song Kd accuses Shmurda of stealing Chicago’s “swag.” Fellow Windy City rapper Donyaee later jumps on the track to “shout out New York,” but he continues the verbal assault against the recent Epic Records signee.
Damn. You know old head legends don’t do beef the way the young boys do. Young dudes will hop right on twitter and air their best friend of 6 months! LOL! That’s the funniest stuff ever. And then like a week later, make up. Old school dudes ain’t like that. They beef quietly and, in most instances, for a long TIME. On the other side, some of them come up together and later in life they start beefing. This is what this one is. I apologize for not being able to disclose who they are, but I can pass some hints. These two dudes are two of the best ever. They emerged in the late 80’s and moved into the 90’s. But somewhere in there and I am not sure, friction ensued. Now they have done a couple of shows in the past years (I think exactly two) and there was friction at both. According to my sources, one of them accused the other of being a prima donna and the other seems to have lost respect for their former friend. They still work together in this limited capacity. The weird thing is friends have attempted to get them in a room to talk man to man and they won’t do it. So they continue to make people around them uncomfortable, but stopping short of real beef. There is just awkwardness. At any rate, there is certainly possible that they could get it together but I don’t think so.
