(AllHipHop News) 50 Cent is known to have a very competitive nature. Especially when it comes to other Hip Hop moguls like Jay Z. While Jay has managed to find success in almost every business avenue he has attempted, 50 thinks his run at boxing promotion may not be a win for the Roc Nation Sports founder.
“I think they gonna clean Jay up,” 50 told BET. “The sport of boxing is going to clean him up and he’s going to find out it’s not like any other portion of business that he’s been involved in.”
It was revealed this summer that Roc Nation obtained a boxing license. The promotion’s first card, “Throne Boxing,” is scheduled for January 9 at the Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York. The event features Dusty Hernandez-Harrison (24-0, 13 KOs) taking on Tommy Rainone (22-5-1, 4 KOs).
Even though the management wing of Roc Nation has attracted high profile music artists and athletes like Kanye West, J. Cole, Rihanna, Kevin Durant, Robinson Cano, and CC Sabathia to its roster, 50 does not see the company’s move into prize fighting being as easy.
“You can’t just buy your way into it by purchasing existing companies and stuff like that,” added the SMS Boxing Promotions head. “You look at the roster of fighters…you have to have experienced people around to run it. But boxing is like the fur coat business…we don’t know how much they actually sold the jacket for.”
(AllHipHop News) J. Cole laid low for the most part during the lead up to his latest album release. The Fayetteville native is now in full promo mode for his critically acclaimed third studio album 2014 Forest Hills Drive. Cole spoke with Power 105’s Angie Martinez about the project and other subjects related to the Roc Nation rapper.
One of the matters brought up during the Q&A was Cole’s willingness to speak out on relevant social issues like the police killings of Michael Brown and Eric Garner. The “Be Free” performer admitted he was reluctant to touch divisive topics early in his career.
“For the past four or five years of my career, I’ve always been very politically correct… I’m a nice guy. I don’t want to offend nobody,” said Cole. “But at the end of the day, I realized I’m doing myself a disservice and I’m doing people a disservice. If I’m speaking my mind and saying how I truly feel, I might say one thing that connects the dots for somebody that might have been the right connection that was needed to do something to change the world.”
Later in the interview, Cole was asked what changes he would like to see happen in society. His response included a reflection on America’s capitalistic economic system.
“It’s an ‘every man for himself mentality.’ It’s a ‘I gotta be on top. For me to be on top, I gotta have a bottom,'” added Cole. “I don’t know the alternative. I don’t even know if it exists. I don’t think we’ve evolved to something that exists yet, but capitalism is just paid slavery. It’s the same set-up as slavery. The only difference was slaves weren’t getting paid, but it’s the same set-up. I own this plantation. You are at the bottom. I got some managers right here that oversee the field.”
According to Cole, that system does not work anymore. In his opinion, it is a selfish way of thinking that does not benefit the majority of the people. Cole also took issue with the entertainment business, the media, and other industries for putting profits over the well-being of the population.
Cole also made it clear his much talked about song “Fire Squad” was not a “diss” to Eminem or any of the other artists named on the track. The lyrics mentioning Em, Macklemore, Justin Timberlake, and Iggy Azalea’s adoption of “Black music” were seen as controversial by some observers, but for Cole it was just an artistic examination of the shift taking place in Hip Hop.
“That has nothing to do with dissing Eminem or any of those people,” explained Cole. “That part of the verse is an observation – me just making an observation of culture right now.”
(AllHipHop News) Back in August, Rich Homie Quan got caught up in gay rumors when his frequent collaborator Young Thug called Quan his “hubby.” RHQ stopped by Sway In The Morning to talk about a host of topics including the speculation he and Thug are more than just friends.
“First and foremost, I try not to get into all the comments, cause it be so many. But at the same time, I see them. But if I respond back to that, that’s what they want me to do,” said Quan. “Everyone in Atlanta knows, me nor Young Thug is not gay. With Thug it’s different. It’s just his slang. I don’t take nothing of it. I know I ain’t gay. Everybody knows I ain’t gay.”
While Rich Homie declared he is a straight man, Thug sparked even more rumors about his sexuality. In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, Thugger talked about his time in juvenile detention. He told the publication all he did while in the facility was “gamble, smoke and f**k” which led some people to question who exactly was Thug sleeping with during his stay in juvenile.
“No windows or nothing, like a real jail. Lot of punishment. I didn’t do s**t there but gamble, smoke and f**k,” said Thug.
Both Thug and Quan have close ties to the Cash Money camp. The two Atlanta rappers released a mixtape with CMB’s Birdman under the name Rich Gang. Despite all the current turmoil happening at the label with artists like Lil Wayne and Tyga, RHQ is still interested in making the business partnership with Cash Money official.
“I still would [sign to Cash Money] cause the relationship they have with Bird, that’s not the relationship I have,” explained Quan. “I don’t know their situation – and I try not to get into their situation – I just try and do what’s best for me. If that situation is right for Quan, of course I’m gonna take it if it makes sense.”

(AllHipHop News) Earlier this year, James “Jimmy Henchman” Rosemond’s murder trial ended with a hung jury, but this week another jury was able to return a verdict in the same case. According to Don Diva, Rosemond was found guilty on all charges for the murder of Lowell “Lodi Mack” Fletcher.
“Enough said. Nothing to talk about,” stated Rosemond after the jury’s decision was announced.
The former artist manager and convicted drug dealer was on trial for setting up the killing of Fletcher. Authorities believed that Rosemond had Fletcher murdered as part of an ongoing street feud with Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson’s G-Unit crew.
The hit was allegedly ordered as retaliation against G-Unit member Tony Yayo slapping Rosemond’s son. 50 addressed the Yayo incident on the song “Hold On“. That led to James Rosemond Jr. responding in a statement issued to AllHipHop.com.
“The incident in 2007 was a bad situation I didn’t deserve, and seven years later it’s now being made fun of in a record?” wrote Rosemond Jr. “What real gangster condones grown men assaulting a minor or a young man who has no involvement in the beef? Plus, these guys have kids of their own, and they should know better!”
The elder Rosemond is already serving a life sentence for drug trafficking and weapons possession convictions from 2013.
(AllHipHop News) Lil Wayne may be ready to cut business ties with Cash Money Records, but the 32-year-old rapper still represents for the CMB imprint he is in charge of. Wayne returned to Twitter yesterday to make it clear he still has love for Young Money Entertainment – and only YM.
Even though Wayne announced to the world Cash Money was refusing to release his Tha Carter V album and he felt like a”prisoner” at the label, CMB boss Bryan “Birdman” Williams has yet to address the situation.
Instead, Birdman continues to present Young Money-Cash Money as one unit. He added “YMCMB” to the captions for several of his recent Instagram posts.
(AllHipHop News) Before Lil Wayne announced he was done with Cash Money Records and Chris Brown accused Drake of dating his girlfriend Karrueche Tran while he was locked up, the three superstars hooked up with Nicki Minaj for the video to her single “Only.” The leader of the Barbz released the new visuals today.
While the clip for The Pinkprint track features a dark S######/dominatrix theme, Nicki avoided the controversial Nazi imagery that appeared in the animated lyric version of the video. The scantily dressed femme fatale raps alongside Weezy and Drizzy as Breezy handles the hook.
What the hell? This is crazy. Nicki is supposed to be dating meeeeeeeeee….
But, I have no money, never been to jail, from a smaller town and basically have no clout. So, there are new rumors that suggest that Nick and Meek are now any item. I pray its not due to this new song they have.
Many people are shocked to hear the news of Meek Mill and Nicki Minaj dating. What they may not know is that this union has been long in the works and involves lots of drama including Safaree cheating, Nicki’s new album and K. Michelle interfering. Random, I know, but what’s some good tea without the unexpected? There is a LOT going on so read the ENTIRE thing and be prepared to take in about a gallon of tea.
At the beginning of the year, Nicki and longtime boyfriend Safaree had been going through some issues, mainly having to do with Safaree constantly cheating. Nicki kicked Safaree out of their home and he had been sleeping couch to couch with friends hoping Nicki took him back. Guess who was a shoulder for Nicki to cry on during these hard times? That’s right, Meek Mill. Safaree heard about Meek and it was only a matter of time before a feud started. Safaree took several subliminal shots at Meek, one in the form of a video he dropped in January titled “All We Do Is Stunt V”. The premise of the video was Safaree and his biker crew rolling up on a guy and robbing him. The car the guy is driving happens to be a car similar to one Meek owns. The use of the bikes is also telling, considering Meek is a biker himself. Many people would never put 2 and 2 together but those involved know who it was geared towards. On “All We Do Is Stunt VI” Safaree also talks about a girl having “million dollar pu**y” but coming from a messed up environment. The video itself is kind of pointless and was only made with the intent of Meek seeing it. I’m not sure if he ever did.
Now let’s fast forward to a few months later, in April. Between January and April, SB and Nicki had reportedly got back together and broke up yet again. It was highly publicized because SB and Nicki both posted it on Instagram. SB even posted on social media that he would be taking a hiatus from the internet — and he did. All the while, who was still there to console Nicki? Yep, Meek Mill. He also made a meme about it. Of course, yet again, no one caught it.
Oh, but it gets better. Again, Nicki and SB get back together. They’re good for a few months and yet again they break up. Now, let’s pause on Nicki and SB and talk about Meek Mill. Meek is working on his new album and he has a song titled “Anybody Wanna Buy A Heart”. That name sound familiar? Well, it’s the name of K. Michelle’s album. You may recall K. Michelle and Meek were spending a lot of time together. K. Michelle was crushing on him, which she admitted herself on The Breakfast Club, and on her last visit to the station she said that Meek let her hear “Anybody Wanna Buy A Heart” and she liked it so much she used the song, figuring he wasn’t going to use it. She was right, Meek had no use for it, but here is where things get messy. Meek didn’t give K. Michelle the track. The two share the same A&R and the A&R gave K. Michelle the track. Sound familiar to the reason K. Michelle was mad at Elle Varner? It should, because it’s the same thing. Let it also be noted that part of K. Michelle’s beef with Elle had to do with Meek Mill as well. We need a groupie tale on Meek, I have to know what he’s working with to have all these girls after him this way.
Anyway, Meek basically snatches the “AWBAH” track back and while in the studio listening to tracks with Nicki, Nicki says she likes it and he gives it to her instead. “Buy A Heart” featuring Meek Mill can be heard on Nicki’s new “The Pink Print” album as a bonus track. You know who won’t be found on The Pink Print? SB as Executive Producer. Nicki completely snatched his title away from him and he is nowhere to be found in the album credits. If you are a Nicki fan, you know he executive produced ALL of her albums. Let us also not forget Nicki’s single “Only” featuring Lil Wayne, Drake and Chris Brown where they basically take shots at Safaree for 4 minutes and he pretends like he’s not hurt about it. He even promoted the song on Twitter and tweeted how he heard Lil Wayne’s verse about him not “hitting it right” and how Drake still wanted to smash even though she had a man.
So let’s review, Meek Mill has been consoling Nicki as she went through her roller coaster of a relationship with Safaree. Meek Mill had a song K. Michelle liked, used, and then he kind of snatched it back and gave it to Nicki so she could use it as a bonus track on her album that drops Monday. Got it? Well, there’s more…
K. Michelle’s “Anybody Wanna Buy A heart” album dropped this pastTuesday. Do you know what else dropped? Nicki’s new song with Meek Mill titled “Big Daddy”. At this point K. Michelle took Nicki releasing the song as subliminal a shot towards her and ends up allegedly leaking to blogs that Meek and Nicki are an item. Messy Messy. K!
So now the secret is out. Yes, Nicki and Meek are whatever they are and he even bought her a very expensive piece of jewelry for her birthday. As far as SB, he recently followed both K. Michelle and Iggy Azalea on Instagram but likely unfollowed when he realized Nicki didn’t really care.
I wonder if Nicki taking “Anybody Wanna Buy A Heart” inspired K. Michelle to write “Drake Would Love Me”…all one big mess!
UPDATE: Wanted to add a little something for clarity reasons. The bracelet above was purchased by Meek Mill from his jeweler Shyne Jewelers. Similar pieces can be found on Shyne Jeweler’s site. The whole Pauly D thing, I’m assuming he was joking, which is why we never posted about it. Also want to add to the tea that Nicki Minaj was Meek Mill’s only female visitor while he was incarcerated and remember back in 2011 when Safaree and Nicki got matching red Bentleys? Well, Nicki took Safaree’s back. Lastly, when K. Michelle heard Nicki Minaj leaked “Big Daddy” on the day her album dropped, K. retaliated by leaking her version of “Buy A Heart”. To listen to “Anybody Wanna Buy A Heart” featuring Meek Mill, CLICK HERE. The song does not appear on K Michelle’s album (as stated above.)
Chris Brown is a R&B G, but you cannot deny that feeling of love. Seems like Breezy wants his boo back even though she has allegedly been with Drake. Karrueche allegedly dated Drake behind his back, to which he spazzd out. Then he took it back. Then he liked a picture that seemed to suggest he wanted her back. I don’t know, but Baller Alert was on it.
What do you do after you break a pinata open? You go through all of the stuff inside right? Well it’s the end of the year and it’s time for me to take Freddie Gibbs and Madlib’s “Pinata” album and break it open all over again. When the album was released on March 18, 2014, by March 23 I was already ready to call it album of the year with a 9.5/10 rating. The album is everything you can ask for from a pure hip hop album. Everything comes together in a beautiful sequence, the samples, the beats, the rapping, and the vibe. 9 months later I still have this album in my top 5 albums of the year. Never lost replay value for me over the whole year.
Madlib’s production and sample placement on this album has captured my mind all year. Every beat is just intricately crafted into a sonic masterpiece, the way he chopped his samples, placed his sounds, and arranged his drum patterns are truly a work of art. As a lover of music, I thoroughly appreciated the attention to detail. So much so that I had to cop the instrumental version of this album just to hear how great the production was. On the song “Real” you can hear just how great this man’s production skills really are.
That being said, Gibbs came through heavy with the rapping. Gibbs might not be the most lyrical rapper but his lyrics catch your ears and leave a sting. The album is full of quotables and gems laced within Gibbs’s superior flow. He was able to sound comfortable on every song while not limiting himself, because he did several different kinds of songs. There’s a song for everyone. I honestly don’t think any other rapper would have been able to use the beats on this album any better than Gibbs. He worked every beat perfectly.
A few quotables:
“Chefing up the crack, the heroin, and the weed a la carte,
I call it Fast Freddie’s, I should own a f**kin’ restaurant.
Cuz back when I was 12 threw some bells on a scale and I got a pager
We broke them down and started selling nickels to the neighbors
Eventually the penitentiary gon’ see me later
Kiss my momma, told her if I die, then it was part of nature” – “Bomb”
“This white devil society dare a n*gga to do drugs
And dare yo ass to deal ’em, distribute and conceal ’em
My n##### don’t got no boats or no ports, how you think we get ’em?
Crack was black America’s cup of coffee in the beginning
When it crept up where you at, guess you crackers couldn’t fight the feeling
Motherf**k euthanasia, I’ll lace your food up with razors
Make you gargle with saltwater, excuse yourself from my table” – “Sh*tsville”
“I live on borrowed time, my expiration date I passed it
So lock me up forever, but this sh*t is everlasting” – “Thuggin”
This album has maintained it’s replay value over the course of the year and remains one of the best hip hop albums to be released this year.
Looks like Keyshia Cole is going to be gone til…February? For some reason Key Key is going to the county bing. For some reason, she did something about 10 years ago and is going to jail for 30 long days. Hopefully she doesn’t get shanked or something. I wonder if it was because she put them paws on some chick?
Jeezy is in the clear on gun charges that could have derailed his career.
The trap star was arrested in Mountain View, CA over the summer for a rifle that he claimed wasn’t his.
The police have dismissed the charges from the August 24 incident, but Jeezy had some comments that suggest bias.
“I pray this had nothing to do with race but it definitely had nothing to do with evidence. Words cannot express how vindicated I feel with these charges being dismissed today,” stated Jeezy in a statement. “While my team and I always knew that the allegations and charges were based on zero facts, the rush to judgment by both the media and the police has been extremely disappointing. I’m relieved that the truth has ultimately prevailed and I would like to thank those who have always stood by me including my family and fans.”
Jeezy’s counsel Blair Berk echoed his sentiment.
“Mr. Jenkins should not have been arrested and this case should not have been prosecuted. We are pleased it has been dismissed, although frustrated that it took the police and prosecutors months to do the right thing,” he stated.
RCA Inspiration artist, Dee-1, made a guest appearance on BET’s The Backroom to deliver a lyrical performance that surpassed all expectations. His verse, started off with an epilogue of purpose which quickly trailed into a barrage of antiquated self-motivation, and he definitely didn’t shy away from being fully equipped with witty one-liners that will surely make you laugh. Dee-1 took to the instrumental of “Lil Stomp”, produced by Tony Crow, to deliver dope freestyle.
“Give me the mic and you gon’ see World War III / Yo’ money, power and respect, man I’ll burn all three / Found out the teachers couldn’t teach, so I learned off me / I’m self-made, I’m self-paid, yeah, I earn off me.”
Rich Homie Quan has been talking about this collabo with Drake for months now, and today we finally get the chance to listen. Check it out down below. This is suppose to be featured on his debut album dropping soon.
There has been much said about Notre Dame football player Justin Brent and his new girlfriend. He’s 19 and Elke the Stallion is 42. That’s just a super cougar in today’s world. However, there is a catch. The big booty model is allegedly a prostitute! She got that boy sprung – reportedly!
But somebody close to the site with a penchant for the pervy shared this! You can buy some “time” with Elke and, rumor has it…have a LOT of FUN for the right price. Check this:
Watch as D. Di’Yari deals us some more dope with his latest visual “It’s In The Trunk”, proving why consistency is key when serving product in the streets. Surprisingly, the last few minutes of the video takes an unexpected turn of events when the closing scene cuts to actual live footage of D. Di’Yari having an altercation with a police officer during a routine traffic stop. This risky stunt comes In the mist of the country being up in arms over the recent Mike Brown verdict. D. Di’Yari shows that his upcoming EP Tittled “Break The Law” is more than a name, it’s a lifestyle. His new project is set to release late December.
For Atlanta native Will EQ it’s all come down to this. With the release of his brand new project “Social Insecurity 1.5: Rise Of The Machine”, his voice is being used for much more than just lyrics; he’s trying to change the world. Now this may sound like a large feat to some, but when you understand what it takes to ascend against the ranks of those opposing us, the only thing left to do is fight fire with fire.
Building a machine of his own, Will brings organization to the forefront and picks up where he left off with his previous release. Blending hidden metaphors with double meanings, he just asks that you don’t call this a sequel, but more of a continuation of the social consciousness he’s been speaking since he broke onto the scene.
His new movement “Machine Society” is the fuel behind this driving force, with a team of creatives taking a stand and putting on for all the truth seekers of the world. Production comes in limited, but strong showing from The Psychonautz, Zen and The Beat Machines, as Hobo the Great and King Cole handle feature duties. Look for EQ to continue his uprising with the impending release of his brand new album “7 Day Weekend”, coming soon. For now, fall out of line, take a stand and press play on the movement that is “Social Insecurity 1.5: Rise Of The Machine”.
(AllHipHop News) Pusha T was one of the first Hip Hop artists to offer a response to Lil Wayne’s public announcement he was ready to split with Cash Money Records. In a series of tweets, Push cracked a few jokes at Wayne’s expense, invited Weezy to join him at Kanye West’s G.O.O.D. Music label, and referred back to his YMCMB targeted track “Exodus 23:1.”
GQ caught up with Pusha to discuss his collaboration with Adidas – the “King Push” EQT Running Guidance 93. The “Lunch Money” rapper was also asked about his Twitter mentions directed at Wayne and whether he really wanted to see his former rival join the G.O.O.D. roster.
“I don’t know. I just like the fact that I’m a prophet because of my song ‘Exodus,'” said Pusha. “It came out two years ago! People should just call me ‘The Prophet.’ You know what? Wayne on GOOD Music…Well [Kanye] actually likes Wayne, so they could probably make some good music together. But who knows.”
Wayne and Kanye have collaborated on numerous songs like “Lollipop (Remix),” “Forever,” “Swagga Like Us,” “Barry Bonds,” and “Thank You.” Ye also once called the Young Money leader the number one rapper in the world.
