Kendrick Lamar, A$AP Rocky & Chance The Rapper To Appear On “Divergent” Soundtrack
(AllHipHop News) Some of the young stars of rap music will be apart of the soundtrack for the young adult sci-fi film Divergent. The collection will feature several collaborations that include contributions from Kendrick Lamar, A$AP Rocky, and Chance The Rapper.

K. Dot will team with Tame Impala for an interpretation of the Australian rock group’s “Feels Like We Only Go Backwards.” The new version featuring vocals from Kendrick is called “Backwards.”
A$AP Rocky connected with French DJ Gesaffelstein who previously worked with Kanye West for “Black Skinhead” and “Send It Up” off Yeezus. Chance The Rapper is set to partner with 17-year-old singer-songwriter Pia Mia.
The Divergent soundtrack is scheduled for release March 11. The movie is set to hit theaters on March 21.

Adrian Daniel Talks Progression, Helping Frank Ocean + More (VIDEO)
(AllHipHop News) New York City has always been a veritable incubator for young, creative artists and what . Up and comping musical collective Adrian Daniels & The Stoners gathered a myriad of under 25 music talent at Webster Hall for Welcome To Stonerland.
Urban contemporary artist Adrian Daniel prides himself on being unwavering of his vision even if he is perceived as a “hard a*s”, but that does not mean he’s not willing help.
I want to because, I feel like..he’s an artist that, it’s unfortunate, but I’ll say this, the urban community does not accept him enough. If the urban community accepts me and that’s fine, I can be that bridge for him, then that’s dope.
Adrian Daniel & The Stoners already have released Memoirs of a Stoner and Native. While 2013 was relatively quiet for the productive singer, Adrian promises a sequel to Memoirs of a Stoner as well as two more projects to be released by the end of this year.

Twista’s Bodyguard Found Shot & Burned In Chicago
(AllHipHop News) Rapper Twista’s friend and security guard Davy Easterling was found dead last week in Chicago. The 31-year-old’s body was discovered in a burned apartment early Friday morning.

According to reports, firefighters were called to tackle a blaze that started in the bedroom of the first floor unit. Easterling was dead on arrival. Police say Easterling was shot in the throat and chest, and according to an autopsy he died from the gunshots and not the fire.
The cause of the fire and the shooting are under investigation.

VH1 Releases Teasers Of “Tanning Of America” Hip Hop Documentary
(AllHipHop News) VH1 is scheduled to premiere its 4-part documentary series The Tanning of America: One Nation Under Hip Hop tonight (February 24th). The program is based on the Steve Stoute book The Tanning of America: How Hip-Hop Created a Culture That Rewrote the Rules of the New Economy.

The doc will feature some of the biggest names in music including Dr. Dre, Russell Simmons, Nas, Diddy, and Mariah Carey. Political figures like Cory Booker and Al Sharpton will appear as well.

The Tanning of America premieres tonight at 11 pm ET on VH1.

(AllHipHop News) The Lox are preparing to spread the gritty New York gangsta rap across the globe. Today (February 24th) the trio announces they will embark on The Trinity World Tour.
The tour kicks off this Friday (February 28th) at Sin City in Waterbury, CT. In May, the group will begin the international leg of their tour with their first stop being at Sound Academy in Toronto, ON. According to Jadakiss, more dates will be added “Everyday”.

Hip-Hop Rumors: What Childless Old Schooler May Be Having A Kid?
Ahhhhhh…..do you know who this is?
That dude is Grandmaster Melle Mel and he’s in the Rock-N-Roll Hall of Fame for his early work in Hip-Hop as a part of Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five. To my knowledge, Mel doesn’t have any kids to carry on the great lineage. Now in his 50’s, a crazy rumor just came out of the box.
Word on the streets is that Melle Mel was expecting a kid! Over the weekend, he apparently had dinner with a pregnant woman and they toasted. But, my sources are saying this is purely false. I don’t even know where these rumors come from.
