Hip-Hop Rumors: Alleged “Thot” Still Suing 2 Chainz?

I heard they tried to avert it, but it didn’t work. I hard this girl that was labeled a “thot” on an online video posted by 2 Chainz is still moving forward with a lawsuit against the rapper. I don’t think papers have been filed yet, but she’s allegedly going to cite Slander and Defamation of Character. I would assume this chick is some college student with a great rep or something. I don’t know but…yeah.

Oh…Defamation: Any intentional false communication, either written or spoken, that harms a person’s reputation.

Slander: oral defamation, in which someone tells one or more persons an untruth about another which untruth will harm the reputation of the person defamed.

Hip-Hop Rumors: Mariah Carey Blames Nick Cannon For Failed Albums?

To the homey: Keep ya head up.

I’m a fan of both Nick and Mariah, so don’t take this the wrong way. But I cannot believe there are rumors than Mariah is blaming Nick Cannon, her doting hubby, for the demise of her last couple of albums. First of all, I thought she had already blamed Jermaine DuPri. A source says:

“She was devastated when her latest album, ‘Me. I Am Mariah … The Elusive Chanteuse,’ sold just 100,000 copies, and is blaming Nick. She turned down lots of opportunities to put her personal life ahead of her career and he didn’t. He takes every job he is offered.”

They are definitely headed for divorce though, which is a shame, because Nick has “MARIAH” tatted on his back. Hopefully these guys can step back and remember why they fell in love in the first place. They went way farther than people ever imagined so anything is possible.

Remy Ma Talks Fans Visiting Her In Prison, Papoose Being Her "Super Cheerleader" + MORE

(Allhiphop News) When prison puts your life on pause, putting it back in motion once you’re released can be the hardest ordeal. Recently freed Remy Ma spoke on Papoose being her cheerleader while incarcerated, feeling awkward when fans visited her in prison and more.

Some fans pay exorbitant amounts of money to meet their favorite artist while others simply travel to the prison they’re in. In her interview with Nicole Bitchie, Remy explained that get visitor list did not need to be approved and “anybody really can just come up there.” Remy detailed a story of a woman who traveled from Texas to Rikers Island to visit her:

One time this one girl, she lived all the way in Texas, and I was like “Ok, I really want to leave right now because I’m really uncomfortable. But I feel bad because you came all the way from where you came from.” And she was like “I’m such a big fan. And I just wanted to come and show my support.”

Remy and Papoose were set to wed on a yacht on April 27th, 2008 but her impending incarceration forced the couple to wed while she was incarcerated. According to Remy, Pap being her “super cheerleader” helped her name stay publicly relevant:

I do believe that I had a super cheerleader in my husband. And he made sure people did keep my name on their lips. And my story wasn’t done yet. God didn’t want my story to end the way people thought it would end. Or the way people were hoping it would end…

Hip-Hop Rumors: Was Suge Shot Over Possible Tell-All Book?

The streets are still talking! Why was Suge Knight shot? Suge Knight was shot over the weekend! And people wanna know. The New York Post is thinking that a possible tell all book could be the reason for the blam blam season.

Music insiders are buzzing that Knight is shopping a story on his career, from founding Death Row Records in the early ’90s to his hard-handed business dealings, including the legendary tale of holding Vanilla Ice over a hotel balcony to obtain rights to his radio hit “Ice Ice Baby.” Knight was also driving the BMW in which Tupac Shakur was fatally shot by an unknown assailant.

Knight had a deal with Penguin’s Riverhead Books to write his autobiography in 2002, but it was never released. The music mogul has since fallen into legal and financial trouble, having filed for bankruptcy in 2006 after losing a $107 million lawsuit to a woman who claimed she helped found Death Row with Knight.

We’re told that Knight — who’s refused to talk to police about last weekend’s shooting — was also recently shopping a movie and had filmed a pilot for a reality show a few years ago, though it’s never aired. “Suge doing a tell-all book would be a huge best seller, and probably one of the few things he could do,” a source told us.

They also stated that it could have been a “planned assault,” which I don’t buy. That dude was hit with 6 bullets, and 3 went in the belly. That was too close for comfort, but the owner of the club seems to feel this is true.

Other rumors claim it was a “planned assault” and supposed to happen at Brown’s barbecue on Saturday afternoon at his house, but it was botched and was moved to the club. Insiders insist the bullets were always meant for Knight, not Brown. One said, “Before the shooting, Chris stood on a table. He was head-and-shoulders above the crowd. If the shooter wanted to hit Chris, there’s no way he would have missed.”

1Oak owner Richie Akiva apologized on Instagram Monday: “In my 17 years . . . in this business I have NEVER had something like this happen . . . the events of Saturday were extraordinary and appear to be part of a planned assault.”

DJ Clark Kent Talks Stealing His 1st Turntables During 1977 New York City Blackout + MORE

(AllHipHop News) During the blackout of 1977, most of  New York City was without light, but DJ Clark Kent still had his thirst for DJ’ing. In his recent interview on Juan Epstein podcast, the legendary producer/DJ/sneakerhead, Clark Kent explained how the 1977 blackout started his DJ’ing career.

Over 3,800 people were arrested and $1 billion in damages were incurred in the two day blackout due to looting and arson. Brooklyn was one of the areas in New York City hit the hardest and according to Clark Kent, he was one of the lucky not arrested:

In 1977 when the blackout happened, I was a block away from Music Factory. Enough years have gone so statute of limitations means I can tell this story and not go to jail. I stole my first turntables out of that store. It was already busted into. The crazy part is, nobody was taking THAT. It was this big wooden..what would look like a coffin to somebody else was really just this big thing that held a turntable and a mixer. It was on wheels, so it was a DJ’s dream.

The now closed Music Factory record store was where young Clark Kent pilfered his first DJ equipment.

Suge Knight Released From Hospital Following Shooting

(AllHipHop News) Good to be home. Yesterday (August 28th) Suge Knight returned home after being hospitalized for four days following a shooting altercation this past Sunday (August 24th) in West Hollywood.

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Lt. John Corina informed the New York Daily News that Knight was going to be questioned again regarding the shooting yesterday. Knight has reportedly been uncooperative with the police investigation with a law enforcement official informing the news publication that “we doubt he’s going to tell us anything. That’s typical in cases like this.”

Knight was struck six times at Chris Brown’s pre-VMA party at 1Oak nightclub early Sunday morning. While Corina and the police department believe Knight was the target of the shooting, he refutes claims that it was in retaliation for the Notorious B.I.G.’s 1997 murder. The police have stated they have multiple persons of interests in connection to Knight’s shooting.

Knight’s friend Keith Middelbrook informed the New York Daily News that Knight “went straight home” following his release from Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.

RED BULL'S BC ONE SIZZLED IN LAS VEGAS

The Red Bull BC One Final, kicked off in Las Vegas, Nevada this weekend transforming the new Brooklyn Bowl into a B Boy brawl, with Florida B-Boy Vicious Victor taking the title as the Red Bull BC One North America Champion. MTV and SIRIUS XM personality, Sway Calloway, hosted the spin fest as 16 of North America’s greatest B-Boys went toe to toe in four rounds of one-on-one battles that had the crowd mystified by some of the most aerodynamically skilled moves performed.

The North America Final is one of six global qualifiers, which include Brazil, Algeria, Finland, Croatia and Taiwan. Victor will join the winners of these qualifiers to compete alongside 15 of the world’s best B-Boys on the global stage in Paris,France on November 29 at the Red Bull BC One France World Final 2014.

P-20140816-00061_News

According to “The Art of Battle” written by the original B-Boy Alien Ness “Every aspect of the dance was created for competition and every move is judged according to its effectiveness as a weapon.” Coupled with individual style, athletic ability and bravado, each B-Boy demonstrated their best skills, rhythm and creative style to impress the panel of judges, which included RoxRite (Red Bull BC One All-Star and 2011 Red Bull BC One World Champion), Neguin (Red Bull BC One All-Star and 2010 Red Bull BC One World Champion) and Marlon (Havikoro Crew, Texas).

August 30th: Latin America Final in Belém, Brazil
September 13th: Eastern Europe Final in Zagreb, Croatia
September 26th: Middle East Africa Final in Algiers, Algeria
October 11th: Western Europe Final in Helsinki, Finland
October 25th: Asia Pacific Final in Taipei, Taiwan

P-20140816-00050_News

Although, crowd favorite Gravity, windmilled his way through each round, the judges were more impressed with Vicious Victor in the end. “The battles were really intense tonight” says Roxrite (Judge): What usually happens in the first round is that everyone is going off for the first time so everything is fresh and the level of difficulty is really high. But down the line you see who has more variety with movements, different types of patterns and technical moves. In the end, those are the guys that started to shine more. Vicious Victor and Gravity’s final battle was really intense, but Vicious Victor was dropping a bit more of everything to win.”

P-20140816-00076_News

Since its inception in 2004, Red Bull BC One has become the premier competition in the world of B-Boying, consistently attracting the best individual breakers in the world. Originally designed as an “invitation-only” event, the series has now opened to give any B-Boy the chance to compete through a multi-layered global qualification phase. Red Bull BC One celebrates breaking culture by using its original one-on-one, knockout battle format, as opposed to the crew-battle style more prevalent today.

P-20140816-00044_News

“It feels really good to win.” Says Victor, “Last year I lost in the first round and felt horrible and I didn’t want that to happen this year. I trained so hard and I’m so happy because all of that training was worth it. I feel really good about the competition tonight, there were some crazy battles and I feel great about representing North America in Paris! Shout out to my family, especially my dad because he believed in me and told me I was going to win. I’m proud and I hope he’s proud too.”
