Signs The World Is Coming To An End: Stabbings, Punching And Violence On Black Friday

Just yesterday, everybody was thanking God for all their blessings and whatnot. The very next day, these same people will do anything to save a couple of dollars to get a “deal” on Black Friday. These crazies are stabbing each other over Jordans and a bunch of other material goods.

Here they are fighting over Jordans.

At least they weren’t black. :/

Walmart as well was the subject of mass violence and chaos.

WTF News: Thief Steals Salvation Army Kettle From Good Samaritan

Now that the 2013 holiday season is in full swing, Salvation Army charity workers are popping up left and right but their good deeds don’t always keep them immune from unfortunate incidents as one person in North Carolina found out.

According to N.C. police, someone stole a salvation army kettle from a bell ringer who left his post to help a grandmother and her four grand kids through shopping mall doors.

Via AP:

Winston-Salem police say bell ringer James Griffin III told them when returned from the Belk store to his post, the kettle and the $50 in it were gone.

Police Lt. Brad Yandell says there is no video of Tuesday’s theft, and investigators have no leads.

Maj. James Allison, commander of the Salvation Army of Winston-Salem, says the agency would have helped if the thief had a need.

Griffin returned to his spot on Wednesday, and the Belk store manager put $100 into the replacement kettle. At least this situation ended fairly well but it’s sad that the thief didn’t just ask for help. Something tells me they were just being greedy.

Obie Trice Talks About The Cause & Aftermath Of Proof's Killing (VIDEO)

(AllHipHop News) Hip Hop artist Proof passed away in 2006 after being shot four times at local billiards club. The death of the D12 member sent shock waves through the Detroit rap scene as fellow Motor City rappers like Eminem and Obie Trice had to come to grips that the 32-year-old emcee lost his life too soon.

Obie sat down with VladTV to talk about Proof’s killing. The former Shady Records signee still feels that the information surrounding the altercation that led to Proof getting shot is murky.

“They say Proof shot [first], but I don’t know if that story’s true,” says Obie. “A lot of fabrication going on with the story. I don’t really know what’s true and what’s not.”

One account of the situation was that Proof shot a man named Keith Bender after an argument at the club, and then Bender’s cousin Mario Etheridge, a bouncer at the location, then shot Proof. Another witness that night said both Proof and Bender were shot and killed by Etheridge after a fight broke out between the two. Etheridge was not convicted of murder because it was determined that he acted in self-defense.

According to Obie, the entire altercation sparked a series of murders throughout Detroit.

“A lot of  s**t happened after that. A lot of people ended up getting killed,” says “The Setup” performer. “That’s just how it is though.”

Gossip Site Responds To Dr. Dre's Cease & Desist With Snark-Filled Letter

(AllHipHop News) Dr. Dre was not pleased by posts published on the gossip site TheDirty.com accusing him of cheating on his wife with a video model. The Los Angeles based producer had his attorney send the website a cease and desist letter demanding that the “scandalous, false accusations” be removed or the site could be facing a lawsuit. The Dirty’s lawyer replied to Dre with his own letter released by TMZ.

The Dirty’s representative David Gingras begins the letter by announcing he is a long time fan of Dr. Dre writing, “Back in the ’80s I personally destroyed many subwoofers blasting N.W.A.’s ‘F**k Tha Police’ in my car in the high school parking lot.”

From there Gingras’ fires off snarky remarks about famous people who lied to cover up mistakes that became public comparing the Dre situation to the Bill Clinton/Monica “What’s-Her-Name” scandal and Lance Armstrong lying about using steroids. He even mentions O.J. Simpson who he jokingly says “was clearly framed.”

In the end Gingras makes the point that TheDirty.com nor its owner Nik Richie can be held responsible because the articles were posted by users and not Richie. He even cites a 2012 case where the site won a similar lawsuit.

Indeed, courts have already agreed with this argument in cases involving Nik Richie and TheDirty.com. You didn’t mention this one in your letter, so here’s a quote: “In sum, a third party unilaterally created and submitted [content to TheDirty.com] without specific instructions or requests from the Defendants to do so. This is precisely the type of situation that warrants CDA immunity.”

Exclusive Pics: Snoop Dogg Shuts Down Skee Live

Uncle Snoop Dogg was in the building earlier this week at Skee Live, located at The Conga Room in Downtown Los Angeles, to visit the rising DJ Skee hosted show on AXS TV. With a young excited crowd cheering him on, Snoop Dogg with help from upcoming artist/musician Dam Funk (collectively known as 7 Days of Funk) tore the house down with live performances of “Faden Away” and “Hit The Pavement,” followed by a medley of hits that included “Drop It Like It’s Hot,” “The Next Episode” (with fellow Dogg Pound member Kurupt) and other classic jams from his deep catalog of hits. After the show, Snoop sat down with DJ Skee for a little one on one interview and got a surprise visit from actor Omar Miller Benson (8 Mile) who presented him with a Los Angeles Lakers jersey previously worn by Kobe Bryant. AllHipHop.com was in the house and we’ve got some exclusive pics from the night!

Hip-Hop Rumors: Shyne Calls Kanye West ALL THE WAY OUT!

Yooooooooooo!!!!

Shyne just called Kanye all the way out! Kanye is now becoming as well known for his rants as much as his music. But Shyne who can be a bit of a hood philosopher himself has some comments for Yeezy, who has been griping over the fashion industry’s lack of including him. WELP! Ish just got real and Shyne tells Kanye that he needs to let the people know about the conditions in his native CHI-TOWN. More killing going on than a little bit in the place where Kanye was born.

Here is what Shyne said:

Hip-Hop Rumors: Amber Rose Disses Kim Kardashian Over Post-Baby Surgery

Lazy day. Yes its Thanksgiving and yes I’m overeating. But, there are a couple of rumors going on. You may have seen that it has been rumored by myself and others that Kim Kardashian used surgical means to get her body back. Anyway, Amber Rose, Kanye West’s ex, seemingly hit Kimmie with some tough subliminal jabs in a recent post.

I think she’s dissing and at the same time showing that she’s still got it.

A Special Thanksgiving Dedication From AllHipHop.com: Ode To Clayton Perry (RIP)

“Ours was a friendship forged once in this life and again in the next.”

Today many people will be stuffing their faces, celebrating with family and engaging in other festivities like lazily watching football games. We’ll be doing these things as well, but with a decidedly somber heart.

Earlier this month, AllHipHop lost one in Clayton Perry, one of the finest writers to ever contribute to AllHipHop.com.

I met Clayton several years ago through a mutual friend, Ed Garnes. Ed and I had known each other through the public speaking circuit and he came to me excited over a possible writer for AllHipHop. The person was skillful – a cut above the normal, young writer that we’ve encountered. This young man, at the time in his early 20’s was professional, motivated, ambitious and, most of all, unique. This man was Clayton Perry.

Much of Clayton’s work appeared in AllHipHop’s alternative area, where he was allowed to roam free and flourish. Our managing editor Seandra Sims and I realized early on that we had something special in Clayton. He was relentless. He was one of the few writers that didn’t need managing or motivating. He was full of life and it showed in his work ethic. His stories read like all of the great writers of the 90’s – very academically. He was a scholar that framed and contextualized his subject matter. Clayton thoroughly researched the people he spoke to, challenging them as much as they challenged him.

He’d crank out story after story after story and kept count of them all – over 200 in a matter of a couple years. And we’re not talking any-old-body. We’re talking Clive Davis, Kenneth Gamble, John Legend, B.O.B., Janelle Monae, Bobby Brown, Chuck D, Common, Julius “Dr. J” Erving, Adele and so many more. (In fact, here’s an alphabetical listing of his interviews.)

There were other instances when Clayton would even check us on editing mistakes that appeared in his pieces. In hindsight, he was a man on a mission. There were times when Seandra and I would talk about Clayton, mystified and marveled at the same time. In one email, she said, “That’s Clayton…marching to the beat of his own drum” after he suddenly and randomly submitted a lengthy piece on soul singer Allen Stone earlier this year.

To this day, we don’t know the circumstances around Clayton’s death, but that doesn’t much matter. What matters is that he’s left behind a proverbial library of his life’s work on ClaytonPerry.com. He was only 29, but I know people twice his age that haven’t accomplished as much. He was an educator that held a degree in Sociology and another in Creative writing. To put in plainly, Clayton was a remarkable talent.

On Facebook and Twitter, Clayton’s last words were “In the end, all you need is love.” He was loved. Clayton will certainly be missed by his family and friends, but also by those of us what were touched by his talents, professionalism and supremely pleasant demeanor. So, on this day of giving Thanks, we give thanks that God blessed us with knowing Mr. Clayton Perry.

Rest In Power, Clayton.

And job well done.
