Donell Jones Returns with "Forever"

R&B Crooner Donell Jones has accomplished much since his 1996 ‘My Heart’ album release. With singles like, “Where I Wanna Be,” and “U Know What’s Up,” Jones has recorded seven studio albums and traversed the R&B and Hip-Hop landscape collaborating with some of hip-hop’s biggest stars such as Left Eye and Big Pun.

His latest album, Forever, features music inspired by old-school singers like Teddy Pendergrass and Stevie Wonder. The album is also being released on Jones’ own label, CandyMan Music. As always, Jones writes from his real life and creates songs that resonate with listeners, as he told Huffington Post, “R&B is missing the art of storytelling. And the art of storytelling through videos. That’s what we used to have.” The songs on the album reflect his current state of mind, the single, “Forever,” is dedicated to his girlfriend and her life-path number, 22. “A Mother’s Love,” is dedicated to his own single mother.

The man who created what Jermaine Dupri calls, “One of the greatest R&B albums of all time: Where I Wanna Be, Donell Jones recently sat down with AllHipHop.com at Frank Ski’s Restaurant and Lounge to talk about his latest album, Forever, the success of previous albums, the current state of R&B, working with Left Eye, the story behind his infamous hats, wanting to work with Beyonce and Drake and much more.

Kendrick Lamar: I Found Papoose's "Control" Response Laughable

(AllHipHop News) Kendrick Lamar phoned in to Hot 97’s The Realness and talked to Peter Rosenberg about his controversial “Control” verse and the response around it.

Kendrick stated he did not hear any word back from the MC’s he named and does not expect any problems:

I didnt hear from nobody but I wasn’t worried it’d affect relationships. At the end of the day, if you listen to the line I feel like these are cats that  inspire the game. They aspire to be the best just like I feel. If they’re competitive and respect the culture of Hip Hop I don’t think there should be any ill feel they have towards me.

He named Los’ “Control” verse as his favorite and called Papoose’s response comical:

I thought it was comical. Had me laughing. I respect the game and I understand when opportunity presents itself you have to make it work for yourself. It was the perfect opportunity to go out there and make a response and get that buzz. He got that buzz going for himself.

Kendrick says he spoke with Diddy and Jay Z but said that information was “confidential”.

While Kendrick does not feel any ill will is felt on his part in regards to the response he does fear some violence could erupt from his “Control” verse:

There will never be like that again where two coasts rival. Not on my behalf.  Not while I’m doing this. I think the OG’s want that competitive nature back and no bloodshed. I’m way too wise and way too polished to not get caught up in the hype of the media. But what I’m scared of are cats not that polished that get caught up in what their Twitter responses are saying and what their homies are saying trying to gas them up

Hip-Hop Rumors: Twerking BANNED At WHAT College? Lamar To Play This Season? Kris Jenner Canceled!!

WHAT THE HELL!!!

Just as twerking hits the mainstream and lands in the dictionary in all of its glory, the dance isn’t going to be done at Hampton University. That’s right, twerking is being banned from Hampton University and anyone who does it could be disciplined. I really don’t know how they could enforce this. But even if you clap them cheeks on Twitter or IG it still might get your ass in trouble. Hampton’s homecoming parties just won’t be the same.

KRIS JENNER – GONE IN 60 SECONDS!!

Damn that was fast. Kris Jenner’s talk show has already been canceled according to sources. It appears that nobody was interested in watching her show, and advertisers were not interested in spending money on it either. Even Kanye West’s appearance couldn’t help the show. To be honest I didn’t even know it was on until Kanye was on there showing off North West.

HOPE FOR LAMAR?

Speaking of the Kardashians, it looks like all is not lost for Lamar Odom. Even though he is splashed across the media as a drug addict, he still might be able to play basketball this season. The L.A. Lakers are telling Lamar that if he goes to rehab, he will definitely have a spot on the team this season. That’s cray because he’s already admitted to being high on the court when he played for the Mavs, and I think I read he was tore up when he played with Lakers too. Here’s the thing. Lamar is hooked on Oxycontin. But no one could do anything about it as far as the Lakers. NBA drug testers knew Lamar was using the drug but he has a valid prescription for it.

NO NEED TO WATCH THIS IF YOU GO TO HAMPTON! LOL!

Justin Timberlake Says He Settled His Issues With Kanye West

(AllHipHop News) The quarrel between Justin Timberlake and Kanye West appears to be over. During an interview with Sway Calloway’s Shade 45 radio show, Timberlake says he had an hour-long talk with Kanye at MTV’s Video Music Awards, and the two superstars settled their issues over Ye’s comments about JT’s song “Suit & Tie.”

Back in February, Kanye expressed that he was not a fan of the single during a performance in London telling the crowd, “I got love for Hov, but I ain’t f*cking with that ‘Suit & Tie’.” Justin shot back during his Saturday Night Live stint in March changing the hit record’s lyrics to: “My hit’s so sick got rappers acting dramatic.”

“It doesn’t matter,” said Timberlake. “I love the record. I love ‘Suit & Tie.’ It reminds me of the music I grew up listening to. I respect his opinion because I think he’s a genius. But I don’t share that opinion. It’s just not that big a deal.”

Timberlake also reveals that he shared with Kanye that he is a fan of his music.

“I told him I f*ck with you in a way that you probably don’t even understand. I get what you do,” says Timberlake. “I love Ye. I feel like I understand what he’s doing. I love Yeezus. I love that album. I feel like I understand what he’s doing. I think he’s ahead of a lot especially in his genre.”

Justin also says that while he has never worked with Kanye, he would have liked for him to appear on his project. Could a JT/Ye collaboration be on the way in the near future?
