Schoolboy Q Says Macklemore Should Win VMA Over Kendrick Lamar

(AllHipHop News) Schoolboy Q is clearly not a stan for his fellow Black Hippy members. Meaning, he can respect and appreciate their talents, but he can also admit when he feels like another rapper may have edge them out in a certain area. That is the case for the 2013 MTV Video Music Award category for Best Hip-Hop Video.

Fellow TDE emcee and collaborator on Schoolboy’s latest track “Collard Greens,” Kendrick Lamar, is up for the Best Hip Hop Video moonman for “Swimming Pools (Drank).” He is going against A$AP Rocky’s “F*ckin Problems,” Drake’s “Started From The Bottom,” J. Cole’s “Power Trip,” and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis’ “Can’t Hold Us.” According to Q, Macklemore should be walking away with the trophy that night.

“Of course I’m rooting for Kendrick, but Macklemore probably should win. I’m pretty sure Kendrick believes that too,” Schoolboy told MTV’s Rap Fix Live. “We appreciate good stuff, and that video was crazy. I appreciate what Macklemore did with that video. I liked it better than Kendrick’s.”

Schoolboy also explains the delay of his album Oxymoron. The Los Angeles rapper says he is just waiting on sample clearances to drop the project. He reveals that frequent musical partner A$AP Rocky will appear on a track called “Californication” that will be on the LP.

She says she met Chris Brown and has no gripe with him even after his 2009 assault of Rihanna:

“The personal obsession people have with him is unfortunate and his life journey is to progress and become better. Artistically I have nothing to say except kudos and respect to Chris Brown’s voice, dancing skills, talent as an artist with his paintings. He is an inspiring artist.”

O’Day also recalled a not-so pleasant first impression of Lindsay Lohan inside of a women’s bathroom:

“I met her in a bathroom one time and she was kind of rude and didn’t tip the woman.” She also went on to claim Lohan promised to take a photo with a fan and then backed out on the

Arsenio Hall and Aubrey O’Day were contestants and rivals on Donald Trump’s Celebrity Apprentice show and the fued never ceased. Back in May, Hall recalled a story on The View of a time when Aubrey showed photos of all the Black men she had slept with. Aubrey’s feelings towards the former talk show host were concise:

“I don’t ever want talk to him. He’s gross.”

In regards to her Danity Kane career with Diddy, O’Day claims there’s “very little room for movement beyond his thoughts” with his artists and that conflicted with her and her former band members:

“What’s worse in his mind is that we were real artists that wanted a say in everything that we were creating and had a personal stake in everything we were making.”

Cee Lo Green Wanted Eminem To Rap About “White Power”

(AllHipHop News) Cee Lo Green has a reputation of thinking a little left of center which usually results in genre blending music and questionable attire that would make Prince blush. However, he recently revealed to MTV’s RapFix that he had this brilliantly off the wall idea to get Eminem on a Goodie Mob song entitled “White Power” of their upcoming album Age Against The Machine.

According to Cee Lo, the song is about “a black perspective on white power” and felt the Detroit rhyme slayer would sound perfect on the track:

“It had gotten out to the press and I just thought that it made a bold statement so I thought that Eminem would easily jump at the controversy being that I heard he had been gearing up to do a new record and getting ready to get back out and fight”

However, for undisclosed reasons the collaboration never materialized but Cee Lo reaffirms the song will still be featured on the upcoming album due out on August 27th:

“I was just as a fan, really anticipating what he could do it. I don’t know for whatever reason we weren’t able to do it. I would’ve really liked to see it happen, but it did make the record though.
