PORTLAND’S P#####!
I am hearing that Snoop Dogg has some majorly p##### off fans in Portland. It seems that Snoop Lion had a show in Portland a few days ago. That sounds about right. But numerous fans were p##### off that Snoop showed up to the venue like 3 hours late. A DJ tried to hold down the opening set, but things got hectic when the crowd started booing. Then they got really heated and started throwing bottles at the stage. Snoop DID show up, but he only did a 30 minute set. To be fair to Snoop, I heard this was like only the second time he has screwed up a show in Portland, but last time it was the same thing too. Maybe Snoop isn’t feeling Portland, or maybe he’s feeling their bud a little too much when he gets there. I heard the promoter is considering legal action, cause Snoop was supposed to be on at like 10pm and didn’t get on the stage til 1.
2CHAINZ CREW CARRIES THE CONSTITUTION WITH THEM!
2Chainz got busted in Oklahoma City in a scenario that seems like it could be in the sequel to CB4. So the affidavit was just released and here’s what happened. Some cops pulled the bus over for bad tail lights. When they attempted to get on the bus, the cop said he could actually see a plume of smoke drifting around the bus. Damn they didn’t even stop chiefin when the cops stopped them. Anyway, the bus driver refused to open the door. The funny part is, a guy in 2Chainz entourage held up a copy of the Constitution and shook his fingers at the cops. They ended up towing the whole bus with everyone on it and they found some weed on it. They also found some other narcotics, which means 2Chainz could be facing more charges. Isn’t the Constitution written on hemp paper? Maybe they were gonna smoke that next LOL!
Future and Ciara are balling out of control. The power couple hit the VMA’s in a private helicopter, then turned around and had the nerve to buy the newest car Bentley had made. The two dropped over $400k in total to scoop up the Bentley Continental Flying Spur. I am trying not to hate on Future, since he’s doing it so big right now. But he better be careful. Don’t forget he has two babby momma’s claiming that they need more money for child support for Future’s kids. Anyway, check out the Bentley.

(AllHipHop News) Incarceration is filled with idle time which people used to read books, write songs and generally get themselves together. Brother MC’s, Gregory and Jeffrey Qaiyum decided to fill the time of prisoners across the world with a modern Hip Hop remake of a 400 year old play.
The performance, “Othello: The Remix” is a retelling of Shakespeare’s classic poem of betrayal and regret “Othello”. The Qaiyum brothers’, renditions includes a new plot which centers around MC Othello releasing average rapper Cassio’s next album which infuriates upcoming vengeful rapper Iago.
The brothers have performed their renditions in England, South Korea and recently for 450 inmates at Chicago’s Cook County Jail.
Jeffery reasons with the Associated Press that while the original Othello may be centuries old, the underlying message of the epochal play can still resonate with the inmates:
(It) really comes down to choices and repercussions and often times, poor choices. I can’t imagine that some people in there are not going to feel that.
The brothers have remixed other Shakespeare plays for performances named “The Bomb-itty of Errors” and “Funk It Up About Nothin.'” They currently are working on offering a Hip Hop translation for every Shakespeare prose as well as for Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol”.
The two men are apart of the Chicago Shakespeare Theater.
(AllHipHop News) Dave Chappelle was apparently heckled so badly during a performance in Hartford, Connecticut last night that comedic legend stopped his set. The Huffington Post is reporting that just five-ten minutes into his Funny Or Die Oddball Comedy & Curiosity Festival show, audience members in the front row at the Comcast Theatre began making too much noise and Chappelle refused to continue his routine.

Apparently, Chappelle spent the next 25 minutes sitting on a stool smoking, reading a book, and talking randomly. The crowd’s behavior led to the Oddball Festival’s official Twitter account to issue a statement to the attendees.

Chappelle eventually tells the crowd, “I’m never coming back. This was a nightmare.” He also apologizes to those attendees who were trying to listen to the show.
Chappelle is scheduled to perform at the festival’s stop tonight (8/30) in Pittsburgh.

(AllHipHop News) As the release date of Drake’s upcoming album Nothing Was The Same approaches, more details about the project start to become public. The latest revelation is that the Young Money star will feature his father on the bonus cut “Heat of the Moment.”
“I’m living my dad’s dream. My dad wanted to be a famous singer,” said Drake in outtakes from a recent interview with XXL. “There have been other interviews where I was asked about my dad and I didn’t want to talk about it. And there were records where I didn’t paint my dad as the greatest guy. At the end of the day, my dad knows I love him and that he’s a great friend of mine.”
It is still unclear if Drake’s father, Dennis Graham, will be singing on the record or if his voice will appear as a sample like on the Drake’s previous song “Jodeci Freestyle” featuring J. Cole.

In the Q&A, Drake also discusses his belief that his current single “Hold On, We’re Going Home” maybe the “biggest and best” song of his career and how Nothing Was The Same’s “Tuscan Leather” is his most confident intro to date.
“I have a bar in there where I say, ‘I’m tired of hearing who you checking for/Now just give it time, we’ll see who’s around a decade from now.’ I guess just being here now for four or five years now, this run to me is crazy,” said Drake. “Then I’m curious to see who’s next? Who’s next to have a real run? I don’t know if anyone has emerged and had a real run after me yet.”

(AllHipHop News) Sheriff Mike Scott is clearly not a fan of Hip Hop. The Lee County, Florida law enforcement officer sent an e-mail to the African-American president of Florida Gulf Coast University, Wilson Bradshaw, asking why the school would invite artists who regularly use the “n-word” and profanity to perform at FGCU’s Eaglepalooza concert. Ludacris and Kendrick Lamar were both booked for the show being held at the county-owned JetBlue Park on November 24th.

Bradshaw, whose daughter is a current student at FGCU, mentioned to Dr. Bradshaw that Paula Deen’s use of the “N-word” thirty years ago leads to national criticism, but rappers use the word regularly according to NapleNews.com.
“We are going to welcome them to a county park with the endorsement of FGCU?” asked the sheriff.
The issue of safety also came up regarding the concert. President Bradshaw ensures that there will be 75-100 security officers on site, but Sheriff Scott mentions he may not approve extra police officers to work security for Eaglepalooza, a precedent that was set for previous events like “Girls Gone Wild”. Scott feels the need for extra security is an indication that the particular performers are the problem.
“We are not going to waltz out there like we would for a baseball game or a Carrie Underwood concert,” stated Scott in the e-mail.
In an reply to Scott, Bradshaw points out that Luda and Kendrick have performed at over 200 colleges and universities and no incidents of violence have been reported. University officials have also planned for further security measures to be put in place like metal detectors, large bags and coolers being prohibited, and no event reentry.
Bradshaw also makes it clear that the student-operated FGCU Programming Board books the performers for Eaglepalooza and officials at the university have properly prepared for the concert.
“As a university president – black or white – periodically there are expressed views related to students and faculty that the president doesn’t personally or professionally sanction or share. In this case, our students indicated a strong interest in inviting these performers to Eaglepalooza, and our staff assures me they are doing everything possible to ensure a safe and enjoyable event for the attendees,” wrote Bradshaw.
(AllHipHop News) Back in 2010 Sean Kingston and some of his associates were accused of sexually assaulting a women in a Seattle hotel room. At the time the police dropped all charges against the singer because authorities did not believe the accuser was credible.
TMZ is now reporting that that same women has filed a $5 million lawsuit against Kingston, his bodyguard, and a member of his band over the alleged episode. She is claiming that all three men gang raped her while she was inebriated from marijuana and vodka and was unable to consent to the sex. She says the incident has caused her to suffer from mood swings, panic attacks, and lack of sleep.
Kingston has apparently filed legal documents as well claiming the sex between he and the women was consensual. A trial is said to be set for November.
Miley Cyrus’ twerk fest with Robin Thicke during the VMA’s has gone to a whole new level. Miley has drawn the wrath of Big Freedia, the Queen of Bounce. For those who don’t know, Big Freedia is a dude who has been in the New Orleans bounce scene since 1999. But homie rolls with a twerk team called The Divas who show everyone how to twerk that thang properly. I am not sure how Big Freedia calls him/herself, so here is what she/he said:
“They don’t have the moves down, but that can be fixed. Unfortunately, Miley’s performance was offensive to black culture –and certainly the portrayal of black women was questionable. She needs African-American and some ass studies. This is a wonderful opportunity to teach people about our culture though, and I just hope people dig beneath the surface of the word.”

Yo Big Freedia is blowing up to yall. There’s a new reality show about to come on Fuse called “Big Freedia: Queen of Bounce.” The show comes on Wednesday, October 2 at 11pm and will take a look at the New Orleans bounce scene.

(AllHipHop Features) AllHipHop.com got the opportunity to speak with West Coast legend Warren G. In part two of the exclusive Q&A, the Grammy nominated rapper/producer speaks on various topics including his take on fellow California emcee Kendrick Lamar’s verse on “Control,” the difference between Hip Hop radio in the 1990’s and now, some of the younger rap artists that he’s checking for, and the love he gets across the nation.
AllHipHop.com: What did you think about Kendrick Lamar’s “Control” verse?
Warren G: I think he was trying to get his point across as far as just a lot of bullsh*t going on in rap music. Everybody keeps talking about the same thing. They keep throwing up money, what they got, chains and sh*t. After so long that sh*t gets played out. As far as I read it he’s basically saying everybody step your game up. Let’s talk about different things. Let’s get into real Hip Hop, and have fun with it.
I’m pretty sure he ain’t dissing New York or down South or these guys here in the West. He’s just basically telling these guys step your game up. It’s like where is Hip Hop headed? But don’t get me wrong, it ain’t nothing wrong with partying. It’s so many stressful things we go through in life sometimes you wanna go in the strip club and have a drink. But throwing up $30,000 or $50,000 or $100,000 in a strip club when you could be giving that to the homeless out there in the street. That ain’t cool.
In the 90’s, mainstream Hip Hop was a little bit more balanced. You had lyrical artists, conscious artists, party artists, gangsta and they all got the same amount of play, but it seems now, as far as radio, it only focuses on one type. Do you think it will ever get back to the point where some of these artists that have a different voice are going to get that same level of exposure in the mainstream?
I think it will get back to that, because like I said people are getting tired of the same stuff being played. Everybody’s talking about chains and Bugattis. We don’t want to keep hearing that. You got people that are not as fortunate as that. They don’t want to keep hearing that. They want to hear you give them a direction on how they can be successful. That’s what we need more of. What’s so crazy is that some of the records they be playing on the radio, I be like how can they even play this on the radio? How do you play this sh*t? For motherf*ckers it’s all about the money. To me it’s just a lot of bulls*t going on. Cause it’s a lot of records being played on the radio that shouldn’t be played on the radio.
It’s dudes on records talking about eating girls out. They never played no sh*t like that on the radio. If we had done that sh*t back in the 90’s you’d be done. They wouldn’t play no more of your sh*t. Now instead of that being a treat to a women they’ve made that a natural thing. It’s dudes talking about eating girls out and girls talking about blowing guy’s socks off, and the radio plays it.
Do you put the responsibility on the radio stations or on the artists?
I put it on the radio and the artist. These kids growing up thinking that’s what it’s about, and that ain’t what it is. They thinking it’s cool to just go out and eat a girl out the first time you meet her or getting some head off top. That should be a treat in a relationship when you’ve been together for a while. They making it common to do those types of things. Don’t get me wrong. I ain’t a square. You know we did “It Ain’t No Fun.” That was a straight party record, but it was real talk. It wasn’t no game. It was real.
It’s just time to get back to real music, real Hip Hop like Kendrick said. You know who does great records to me? Drake does great records. J. Cole does great records. These guys know how to make songs, so I’m not knocking all these new young artists at all. I got love for a lot of them. I actually want to do music for a lot of them. It’s certain people that know how to make a song, and you got some guys that don’t know what the f*ck they doing. They just doing sh*t just to do it. Nipsey Hussle knows how to make great records. Kendrick knows how to make great records. These guys know how to make records.
You mentioned Drake, J. Cole and Nipsey. Are there any other artists that you’d like to get the studio with?
I’ll work with everybody. A lot of artists know when they come work with me they gotta come with it, cause I’m not going to work with you if you’re talking about some bullsh*t. They know they gotta come with it, make a real song. That’s what I do. I do singles. I want to work with all these artists. J. Cole, Drake, Kendrick Lamar, Nipsey Hussle, Ty Dolla $ign. He got that new song called “Paranoid.” That’s a dope record. It’s a concept. He’s going in with a story, and it’s dope. I want to work with Nas, Jay Z, Kanye, 2 Chainz. I just want to do good music.
You got the final dates of the West Coast Fest coming up. What does that represent for you having all these huge West Coast legends all on the same bill?
It feels great. Some of the guys been doing it before me, so it’s just great to be able to be on the same stage as these guys and know I use to jam to their records. To know that I’m right there, same stage jamming with records that the people love, being a part of history that was before me, that showed me the way, I love it. We need more unity out here on the West Coast, because we don’t have a lot of unity like down south. Everybody works with each other and be successful. That’s why they’re winning.
And then New York, a lot of those artists are collaborating and being successful, but here on the West Coast it’s about money too much. You get an artist that wants you to bless [a song]. The first thing they gonna say is “I need $100,000” instead of doing that sh*t out of love. As an artist, if you’re well-known and you popping right at the moment do that sh*t. Blow that artist up, cause you’re gonna make yours off of publishing. You’re gonna make more than $100,000. And then you’re helping another guy be successful. You never know. You may need that person later down the line. He may blow up bigger than you, and then you got that favor back. Muthaf*ckers out here just be on trying to cash in at the moment instead working, building up, and everybody being successful. Not just one person, everybody gonna get it.
It’s interesting you say that, because Schoolboy Q did an interview where he said he felt like he gets more love in New York than in his own hometown.
I feel the same way. Let me take that back. I get major love here. With the people it’s off the chain. The industry motherf*ckers out here, that’s the sh*t where these motherf*ckers really don’t be respecting each other and trying to work together. Everybody trying to see who can be the man and who can run everything instead of doing this sh*t together. We should be working together.
When I go down south the love is just incredible. When I go to New York the love is just incredible. The first thing they say to me in New York is, “why don’t they play y’all on the radio out here.” I just have to tell them it’s just some political stuff. Thank God we got the internet now and you can hear me still. When I’m in Georgia, or the same thing when I’m in New York, I just be walking down the street and they be like, “I know this ain’t who I think it is.” They be tripping. They do that out here too. It’s just the industry that be kind of funny out here.
The person I am on that video camera is the person I am off that video camera- a cool cat. I don’t get all up in the fake sh*t. I just do me. That’s why I get respect on the West Coast. I can go in any neighborhood I want. I can walk anywhere I want cause they know I ain’t on no fake Hollywood sh*t. I don’t get in nobody’s business. I don’t start sh*t, and I keep great relationships with everybody. That’s who I am. You can ask anybody about me.
Do you think that’s why you’ve been able to maintain a successful career for 20 years?
It’s being a good person, keeping great relationships, and making great music. That’s it. Just having good people that have your back. It’s very rare that you have a good team behind you these days. I’m trying to do this for 20 more years. Then, I’m not going to stop. I’m gonna keeping doing it, just at a higher level.

I guess this is the downside to fame. MGK was in New York, just doing his thing after the VMA’s. He was out with his crew when he ran into a bunch of mean dudes from the Bronx. For whatever reason, they decided to get at MGK and his crew right on the street, in front of all of his security! I even think I see MGK’s lawyer rolling around in the background. Anyway, this dude calls MGK out. Machine Gun Kelly is far from a punk though yall. He got back at the dudes and was ready to fight. When the camera cut off I heard MGK spit at the guys too. If MGK and them hadn’t fed into it, we wouldn’t even be talking about this.

(AllHipHop News) Spreading love may soon be the Christopher Wallace Way. LeRoy McCarthy has started a petition to have Biggie’s childhood street corner co-named with the late rapper’s government name, Christopher Wallace.
Christopher Wallace Way would be added to St James Place and Fulton Street in Brooklyn, NY.
The petition already has amassed 277 of its 500 signature goal on Change.org.
