Daily Word: Help Yourself First!!

Happy Thursday my selfish and self-centered! Welcome to the day that you do everything in your power to get all that you deserve in life! Today’s Daily Word is dedicated to helping yourself first! It is a fact that the more you give the more you receive so in your quest to be the best that you can possibly be, make sure you are giving as much as you can! Popular to contrary belief (this in not a typo) being selfish is a good thing if you understand what selfish really means! Selfish is understanding that the more you do for others the more you do for yourself! Selfish is about being selfless and understanding that you have to give more to get more. As Swami Vivekananda once said…  “Do not stand on a high pedestal and take 5 cents in your hand and say, here, my poor man, but be grateful that the poor man is there, so by making a gift to him you are able to help yourself. It is not the receiver that is blessed, but it is the giver.Be thankful that you are allowed to exercise your power of benevolence and mercy in the world, and thus become pure and perfect.” Effective immediately figure out what you can do to be of service to others and do it selflessly! It’s not only the right thing to do but it will get you to your goal faster! Give a Helping Hand! Your success, joy and well being depends on it!-Ash’Cash

Jermaine Dupri Files Counterclaim Against SunTrust Bank’s $2 Million Lawsuit

(AllHipHop News) Early this year reports began to circulate that producer/label head Jermaine Dupri was facing a lawsuit from SunTrust Bank claiming he owed the institution a $1.9 million balance from a $5 million dollar loan issued in 2009. In response the So So Def founder has filed an “Answer and Counterclaims” suit alleging that the bank breached its contract with him.

According to the counterclaim, in the original loan agreement SunTrust was supposed to take portions of Dupri’s EMI publishing royalties as loan repayment to cover his Federal and State income taxes. Dupri says the bank never made those payments which caused tax liabilities to be placed on him.

Dupri says he made arrangements with SunTrust executives to modify the specifics of the loan in 2010 that eliminated the provision that required the bank to make the tax payments. He claims that the loan was restructured to a fixed payment arrangement and gave SunTrust authority to determine the payment amount which Dupri feels were not based on realistic projections of his income.

The counterclaim also states that Dupri’s legal and financial representatives were not able to review the new loan documents prior to him signing them as he agreed to the arrangement in “good faith” based off of years of a trusted relationship between the two parties. Dupri says he was never given a copy of the closing papers either.

Dupri also claims that the loan was not in default prior to 2010 when it was modified from a variable loan to a fixed payment loan. He is filing the counterclaim because SunTrust filed an action against him and is attempting to foreclose on his home and seize his assets without trying to resolve the matter.

Durpi has since paid off a $3 million federal tax lien and the $500,000 lien from the state of Georgia.

Atlanta’s Alan S. Clarke, Esq. of the Entertainment Law Group will be representing Dupri in the lawsuit.

A$AP Ferg Taps Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Onyx & B-Real For Debut Album

(AllHipHop News) This has been a stellar year for A$AP Ferg. The A$AP Mob member signed a deal with Polo Grounds Music and RCA Records, released the buzzing remix to his track “Work” featuring A$AP Rocky, Schoolboy Q, French Montana and Trinidad James, and is prepping to release his debut album Trap Lord on August 20.

Ferg is now sharing more information about who fans can expect to hear on his upcoming LP, and surprisingly the 24-year-old rapper has reached out to some 1990’s rap veterans to make appearances.

“I got some of the best of the best on there. It just got serious and more serious because my features are like Bone Thugs-N-Harmony. I got Onyx on the same song as [Cypress Hill’s] B-Real,” Ferg told MTV.

Bone Thugs burst onto the Hip Hop scene in the mid 90’s with their crossover hits like “Tha Crossroads” and “1st of tha Month.” B-Real and Cypress Hill are one of the most recognized representatives of rap-rock fusion. The California group’s song “Insane in the Brain” helped sell over 3 million copies of their second album Black Sunday.

Onyx was originally a four man group from Queens best well-known for their platinum, number one rap single “Slam” from 1993. Former member Big DS passed away in 2003 from cancer. Ferg was able to connect with Onyx frontmen Sticky Fingaz and Fredro Starr.

“[Sticky and Fredro] remind me of A$AP,” said Ferg. “So we had a lot of moments where we weren’t even working, we were just going over like old stories.”

A$AP Ferg had originally planned to release Trap Lord as a free mixtape, but decided that the quality of the project was good enough to offer as a retail album.

“It’s a kind of legendary piece of work. It’s like art. You can’t really give good art away for nothing,” said Ferg.

Drake Joins J. Cole In Apologizing For Autism Lyric; Removes Line From “Jodeci Freestyle”

On his October’s Very Own blog, the YMCMB rapper writes:

J.Cole wrote a beautiful and moving apology to individuals and families affected by autism who were understandably hurt by a verse in “Jodeci Freestyle”. I share responsibility and offer my sincerest apologies for the pain this has caused. Individuals with autism have brilliant and creative minds, and their gifts should not be disparaged or discounted. This was a learning lesson for both of us, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to try to right this wrong. J. Cole and I believe that it is the right, responsible, and respectful decision to remove the lyric from the song.

The lyric was criticized by the advocacy group Autism Speaks and families with members who are autistic. Some concerned individuals were upset by what they saw as Cole making a connection between being “autistic” and “retarded.”

Autism Speaks responded to J. Cole’s apology and Drake’s decision to remove the lyric from the song on Twitter.

Kanye West Likely Won’t Be Charged For Latest Paparazzi Incident

(AllHipHop News) As much as Kanye West dislikes the paparazzi, he clearly understands how the process works when he has a run-in with them. Before his most recent altercation, when he grabbed at a photographer’s camera, Kanye told the cameraman he knows what he was trying to do – incite him to react so the “I Am A God” rapper would end up paying out $250,000 to the pap.

Well, according to TMZ it seems Kanye will be paying the photog some compensation to avoid being prosecuted. Sources tell the site that Kanye will most likely agree to a “civil compromise” with the photographer, and as a result the Los Angeles City Attorney will not pursue misdemeanor criminal battery charges.

Los Angeles police are still investigating the felony attempted robbery incident, but according to TMZ Kanye probably will not be prosecuted for that charge either because of lack of evidence.

I wasn’t there, but I heard something was going down in the A last night. Now, this is the deal. Jeezy did a video shoot for the song, “Ride for My Ni**a” yesterday in SW Atlanta. The song is from the It’s the World mixtape. People were lingering around the place, waiting for Young to get over there. Before Jeezy got on set, somebody busted a couple shots off in the air on the block behind the video set. Now, to the G’z that were there, they didn’t seem to think too much of it. But, the regular people got a bit nervous. For the most part, everything else was cool and Jeezy recording the video and…we’ll see it soon enough.
